  1. I don't care for the brightly-colored Combaticons, either. Hopefully I can make it to SDCC this year; I'd like to snag one or two of the game-accurate Bruticus gift sets.
  2. Well, the Hasbro FE Cliffjumper, Arcee, and Vehicons should be seeing a release in Asia. Hopefully Screamer and the Voyagers get released, too; the PRID Voyagers (save Megs and Dreadwing) look positively awful.
  3. 2006, simply because the villains - the Piraka especially - all had great characters that were nicely fleshed out. I think if the Inika retained more of their traits from their Matoran selves, it'd make for a great movie... in the Miramax style, that is. Oh man, the Piraka in Miramax style could be incredibly awesome.
  4. The 2008 Nuva masks didn't really fit the characters, I thought. Some were actually really nice, but not for their respective Toa Nuva.
  5. Frankly, I was hoping Ratbat was gonna have a bit of time to shine again, but I suppose not.I'm kinda glad I didn't Hasbro's Megatron after all, now that I've seen AM-15. The silver paint looks a lot better, and Gora does a nice job at being the fusion cannon (but they got rid of the blades ;_ . The price is the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger and getting it, the same thing that makes me hesitant to get Skywarp/Bulo.
  6. Admittedly, in the movie alone, the betrayal alone was kind of an odd addition, but I'll agree that the execution wasn't as good as it could have been.
  7. Actually, I think Vakama worked as a traitor because he was the leader of the group. He had many pressures from the likes of Onewa and Matau (not to mention his Hordika side to deal with), on top of finding out that he wasn't the "real" Toa Metru of Fire while still trying to live up to Lhikan, so it seemed natural that he'd have a breaking point. From an out-of-story reason, I think his betrayal would still have had more of an impact on the audience as opposed to Matau's (who really didn't get much characterization in the movie, anyway).
  8. Should be well being.Overall, this is a good story that really showed what drove the thinking process behind Teridax wanting to overthrow Mata-Nui. Good job! http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png Late reply on my part, but thanks, guys. I was trying to write a little thing that could be easily inserted in the official canon, and since Teridax is one of my favorite fictional villains (and one that I have a lot of sympathy for, really), I came up with this rather naturally.
  9. They never said it was a return to the Hybrid Theory style, actually. They said it was like Hybrid Theory in that it features more combinations of different genres, which was their premise when they started out.

  11. Because there's a limited amount of character models to work with, so some of the Savage Planet animals were thrown in to act as filler villains.
  12. I can offer you Orkahm, Turahk, and Kurahk. How much would you be willing to buy them for?
  13. Weird there was no announcement or anything... Oh well, looking forward to seeing the English version.
  14. I kinda doubt it. He really doesn't have that much blue armor anyway, from the looks of it. Too bad, really. I think the trans-blue would've looked pretty nice on him.
  15. They're summer sets in the US. You can get them through other sites, though, I'm sure.
  16. It was in the review, but here it is again: Hulk and Cap are wearing "Power Armour" given to them by Iron Man.Also known as lame excuse of LEGO for not wanting to recolour some pieces and to make the sets more bulky and expensive. -Gata Well, the higher price just comes from this being a licensed theme (and TRU markups). Those always tend to be a bit more expensive than normal sets. As for not wanting to recolor some pieces that really needed to be recolored... well, it's Lego. That's kinda their thing, it feels like at times.
  17. Most of the serials. They really kinda stretched a pretty straightforward story into something it didn't need to be. Some things, like the Toa Nuva Blog and Federation of Fear/Destiny War, were good to have because the events that occurred in them actually had decent impact on the main story. But Dreams of Destruction (and Brothers in Arms, really) felt like a "To sell toys" story that wasn't needed. Dwellers in Darkness, while nice that it focused on the Hagah, had a plot that really fell short. I think had it focused on things the Hagah actually did during the war as opposed to "we gotta find Teridax/'kay we found him/now we're mindwiped" it would've been a lot better.Reign of Shadows is the main one I was disappointed with. It looked like it was going to feature this one ragtag group of stragglers in Teridax's universe, but it wasn't. It then seemed like it was going to be Destiny War-style, focusing on what's actually happening as far as general resistence, but then there was that Vezon chapter and it pretty much turned into a continuation of Dwellers in Darkness - incredibly boring with Artakha thrown in for good measure. It just completely lost its focus and ended up doing nothing. The two Bara Magna serials were a lot better; Empire of the Skrall gave some great characterization for Tuma and Stronius (the former was oh-so-unfortunately reduced to fodder in the movie, but I digress), while Riddle of the Great Beings had a really good premise.I guess the main problem I had with these was the overall execution. BIONICLE EU stories would've been great had they actually tried to tie into the main story while not necessarily being needed to keep up with the main story. I think the main difference in quality was that Greg had a lot more control with the serials and had a rabid fanbase he tried to appease at the same time. With a full story team, I believe there would've been a lot more solid and straight a direction as opposed to the convoluted mess they turned into.
  18. It's a nice set overall, but I really don't care for that head sculpt. The shape and lack of ears (yeah, I know it's Lego, but still) just don't look that good. I think Iron Man is the most appealing of all these Marvel sets, which easily trump the DC ones, I think.
  19. The main issue I see with the Ratchet toy is his scale to the other figures. I think he should've ended up being a Voyager class dude, but oh well.
  20. Well, this is a little thing I wrote to see if I can still write BIONICLE fanfics (or fiction in general, really) after so long a hiatus. I still have no clue, haha. Hopefully you guys like it. ______________________________________________________________ He paced back and forth, unable to force the thought back down. It had occurred so naturally, so fluidly. At first, he had dismissed it as nothing, a mere delusion at the time of its conception. But now? Now, he wasn’t so sure. It couldn’t be that those blustering would-be warlords had the right idea, could it? The wrong intentions, certainly. The lack of coordination and ability, most definitely... but could they have had the right idea? He clenched his fist in frustration. This so-called “Great Spirit” should have been paying more attention to the universe over which he had dominion. If he had been, then none of this would have happened. No... that was not the way to think, was it? The problem with questions was that they were difficult to be rid of if left unanswered. The problem with this question was that it could not be answered verbally. Action would have to be taken. To most, attempting to answer this question was a crime against the universe. To dare to find the answer would be rebellious, ludicrous, and—to some extent—downright evil. Yet... it would not be impossible. Improbable? Absolutely. But impossible? He smiled. He had never believed in impossibility. It was one thing to have the power to achieve a goal. It was another to have the drive, the will to make sure everything happened according to plan. With only one of those, one could never hope to attain one’s ambitions. This, however, was not the case. He had both. Given a sliver of opportunity, he knew he could lead his brothers—alongside the people of this universe—to ultimate victory. At that moment, he sealed his fate. The facts had dared elude him for long enough. All that was left in his mind was clarity. Mata Nui was not a fit ruler. He ignored this universe, allowed six insects to usurp the natural order and harm innocents. He was indifferent to the transgressions committed in this world or had simply moved on to other prospects. In either case, the well-being of his people had clearly not been taken into account. The trouble, he realized, was not in seizing power from Mata Nui. With the brilliant minds of his brothers at work, that would be the easy part. No, the difficulty would be in convincing the Matoran that their blind faith in the Great Spirit would be detrimental to them in the long run. They would have to see that the Makuta were the only beings that truly looked after them. After all, the Makuta created the birds that flew and the fish that swam and provided the creatures the Matoran used in their labors. They crushed the tyrannical rule of the Barraki and returned conquered lands to their proper leaders. They were tangible, not some spirit that watched over all, unseen and unheard. They had power, but they were benevolent. They had the potential to turn to evil, but they had the will to work towards the greater good. He chuckled. Perhaps convincing the Matoran that Mata Nui was an absentee ruler would not be so difficult. He had convinced himself fairly easily, and his mind was not as fickle as those of the Matoran. For now, though, it was best to keep these ambitions to himself. Should Miserix or any of those so foolishly committed to Mata Nui catch on, the plan would be over before it could be enacted. It would take years for any definite form of the plan to come to fruition, but he had one quality those such as Icarax and Gorast lacked—patience, purely unadulterated patience. He knew he would succeed. He believed those silly little virtues that the Matoran cherished were not applicable only to them. Unity would be needed for this plan to have any hope of working. It was the duty of the Brotherhood to overthrow Mata Nui. And it was the destiny of Makuta Teridax to ignite the revolution.
  21. Oh man, so for sale here, we have sets 4527 The Joker and 4528 Green Lantern. Both are out of their packaging, but have only been used for display purposes by a collector, so everything is in excellent shape. Both have had all of their parts checked with both their instruction sheets (included, by the way), and also BrickLink for spare parts. They're neat sets for both fans of Hero Factory and DC, and also for those who want decent parts packs. They're gonna sell for about $13 USD each, shipped with instructions, or $25, shipped, for both.I also have spares of Drilldozer, Waspix, Fangz, Fire Lord, and Rocka XL for sale. The smaller villains sell for $10 each, and Fire Lord and Rocka for $20.Feel free to ask any questions or anything. Thanks for your time,-Iro
  22. Well, in the series, he can grab Furno in his jaws, so the set scale isn't exactly accurate. That said, I love this rendition of Jawblade. It looks really sleek and not as blocky as the set itself, yet still manages to very accurate. Nice job.

See if you can find it cheaper online before buying one of the other copies. If not, then go with the one that looks the least bads.
