Ah, the internet's penchant cynicism has marred what would ordinarily be a joyous announcement. Alas, where has our youth disappeared to? That wide eyed wonder with which we once viewed the world? If I might postulate, perhaps it is time for us all to join hands again and say "yes, I want to believe." Just this time, let's ignore plausibility, facts, and nasty little dates. Let's come together and bask in the glory of wanton optimism. Say to yourself "I am doing this. I am making this happen."

It's for the best. We've all had our flirtations with Comic Sans - believe me, the reason they become so overused is because initially these fonts seem very attractive. They're often free or come pre-installed on a system, stand out from an otherwise hard to distinguish crowd, and for the uninitiated seem like a great way to stand out. The problem is that they end up doing just the opposite.

The OS has almost nothing to do with the loading time. .bmps are uncompressed files, they're just naturally larger. It's a matter of courtesy to save your comics using a file format that will not put a strain on internet connections of others. As for the comics...they suffer from the usual defects these types of comics do, in that you're using very tiny sprites with a lot of blank space. There's little to no context to give a sense of location to these events - it's just white blank space after white blank space. I didn't read the whole series, but of the few I randomly sampled it didn't seem like you were trying for a comic that tells a story as much as you were going for random gags - which is fine, but the funniest comics tend to be more about how characters with established personalities react to events, not just things spontaneously happening. I'd say working with bigger sprites would help - or just zooming in the ones you have so the characters are actually distinguishable from one another.

Hey, you know what'd be a great idea? Let's repeat yesterdays giant political/social warfare, but then about Comic Sans! =D Actually, let's not go to Camelot do that. 'tis 'twas a silly place thing. But aside from the general hatred the Internet seems to have simply because the Internet already had that hatred when they joined, the most major criticism about the Comic Sans-font, as said by comic authors themselves, is that Comic Sans basically uses the font traditionally found in comics, and messes it all up. (Don't ask me how, I'm not an expert in these things, nor do I pretend to be one) Personally I don't use BZP's 'Customize-yer-posts'-function though, since from a webdesign-standpoint it just generally messes things up. I get why people are using it to create their own sort-of "brand", but that's rather the thing I'd like to leave to my avatar and signature. Comic Sans is hated for very specific reasons in typography: First, it is not well optimized. It has really awful kerning in places, and generally the letterforms do not flow well together, especially at small sizes, where it can become nigh unreadable. In short it is designed without thought. Still, there are thousands of typefaces like that, what makes Comic Sans (and things like Curlz MT, Papyrus, Bleeding Cowboy, etc) so hated is their OVERUSE. On any given square mile you will almost always find at least one storefront using one (or more!!) of these fonts on their displays, or even as their logo. It's so polluted the world of design that it's almost an evil act to point it out - once you know how to spot one of these red letter fonts, you will never stop seeing it and it will infuriate you more each time. In short: It is a lazily designed font, that is often used by equally lazy people not interested in visual appeal. That's why it is hated.

That'd be Scorpio. The magnet on the fridge is the symbol of Virgo.

Oh believe me, the Halo kit put the bionicle one to shame in terms of popularity. I still see it popping up everywhere and get e-mails asking when I'll finish the Arbiter. Anyway don't be afraid to stick around - Bionicle may be over, but BZP sure isn't!

Where's the fun in that?

Your unabashed love for hit pop music always brings a smile to my face.

Well, when it comes to the Japanese figures I collect, you pretty much have to preorder if you want to get the best deal or sometimes even get the item at all..I assumed you meant videogames.
-
Protip: Never preorder. Always buy after. You're basically loaning them your money interest free for a month or however long.

I know I'm not the normal blog guy, but Mak's having phone troubles, so to quote my gigantic friend: "Conversation stops now. Since it has been established we aren't capable of having a rational discussion on this matter, failure to heed this warning gets proto drops."

Opinion: Don't Put All Your Chi in One Bucket
InnerRayg replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
Wait wait wait. back up.Animals fighting each other is bland. As opposed to NINJAS FIGHTING EACH OTHER?That's certainly not a new concept!Lego knows how to sell a line, they've had years of practice and know the pitfalls of making these things successes and failures. That's the thing everyone is forgetting. This isn't Lego releasing a new line, this is Lego building a line out of all the experience they've had selling the ones in the past. Bionicle, Exo-Force, Ninjago, all of it has streamlined how they do business. For example, these lines always have a really strong first year. Why not capitalize on that with these extras? It makes a ton of sense to go full stream out of the gate as opposed to piddling and waiting until the enthusiasm is over to make your move. -

Alright folks, the cutscene is over! See, told you it wouldn't be too much longer. Commands are officially back on the menu![???]: Actually be named "???"[???]: Hug Nakodiles[Tonyfig]: Flirt harder

It won't last much longer. Also have you tried using the RSS feed on the mirror? Or tracking the topic for new replies? There's lots of fun automated ways to follow it.

Tenuk's right, he changed the mood, but it is important to clarify that the Haccine isn't what it appeared. It didn't allow the computer to do anything it couldn't normally - what it did was allow someone to take over Brian so they could get access to it.As for the console, it has only one ability - to modify the stats of things. So it can change, say, the stats for how athletic you are, the amount of bullets in your nerf gun, or the emotional color your card is coded with. However, as you can see, these small changes can have pretty drastic effects.
-
Just as an FYI, this little first bit can kind of be considered a "cut scene"...we'll be getting back to commands very shortly, my apologies.

I still stand by what I said man, it's not a bad MoC, but it's not a good representation of a rabbit, and since that was the point that's why you are getting bad feedback. Just take it the criticism and grow as an artist with it, that's the only thing to do.

I am simply making a intuitive conjecture as to who the new character is. This conjecture is supported by the following evidence: 1. This character's introduction was posted by Nukaya. 2. This character runs quickly, like Nukaya. 3. All other character's names, previously, were real names of the BZPower members who posted them. 4. Nukaya's real name, by her own admission, is Madison. Or, if none of you believe in logic, this character is already mortally awesome. Therefore this character must be Madison, otherwise known as Nukaya. A brilliant deduction. It would have been better if you realized her name was Maddison
