Great find!These don't seem to be the originals, judging only by color, but they're remarkably like the old ones. It is possible that they are the genuine article if you judge by the box.Although most colors are a bit gaudy for my taste (white being the exception), this was always a pretty cool design, and I just might have to get some of these. I wonder if these were a bunch of the actual old ones that remained unreleased 'cause they're all in adult sizes?~ ~

I don't exactly know. I've had this name since I joined the site, and it's kind of gone meta - a character based on me has the same name, and in that context it doesn't mean pretty much anything. I wouldn't say my name necessarily has "real life meaning" to it, but I think I did base it on something when I first used it.The below has never held an actual metal sword, of any type.~ ~

This. Despite the clamoring of semi-metaphorical tons of people for "MORE FUNCTIONS", I thought even when I was younger that functions (especially gear functions) were goofy, unnecessary, and even sometimes annoying. This reminded me of when I was little and I was trying to pose Vakama, but the weight of the disk launcher made one arm swing down, causing the other to swing up and smack me. I had a similar experience, though luckily I wasn't smacked very hard. Posing the Metru was always difficult... they were probably my least favorite gear-using Toa design, although they could look good if posed properly.I loved the Toa Metru. Mainly for nostalgia reasons becuase that was when I REALLY started getting into Bionicle. I had about 20 from 2002 and 3, but I got nearly all of the 2004 besides Nidihki, Krekka and Lhikan. I have them now though hahaha The Toa Metru weren't my favorite, but for whatever reason, I got all of them within a year and a half of their release. And slowly I'm getting the rest of the 2004 sets...~~

I hate to be this unhelpful, but frankly I have to tell you that it's very rare to see setless canisters on eBay. Even on the best sites, one of which I can't mention, it's difficult to get many at once.The problem is simply that not a lot of people sell canisters. I know you may prefer not to go through the Marketplace here - I certainly don't prefer it - but at least in the Marketplace, whenever you do want the canisters, you can actually put a query out there rather than passively searching.Hope that helped you some, at least.~ ~

I agree - if you want to get rid of the boxes by selling them, I think it's worth waiting to combine them with the sets they contained.Boxes by themselves do constitute a market, but more of a limited one. You may make more on the few boxes that you sell than the amount they'd raise a complete set by, but it's far easier and more attractive to collectors to have a complete set with the box. If that sentence made sense.~ ~
