  1. Hahaha love that joke at the end (reference to the snake part, I believe? ) I too agree about the tail; ideally I would've used a different color for the snake part but I didn't have Rahkshi heads in any other color apart from Metru red, which I'd already used on the dragon's head. The lion's head is by far my favorite part, but I don't particularly like the eyes. If enough people asked, I might consider posting instructions for it. It was relatively hard to come by in terms of technique, so I would be inclined to let others onto it. Thanks for your truly constructive criticism. I appreciate it! Nope, just a Knight's Kingdom Series II Karzon's mask, with the shoulder armor piece fitted over his head. Thanks for your feedback.
  2. Octharius: "Welcome, fellow gladiators! I am Octharius, and I am here to demonstrate to you how to bring a 4-headed Chimera to the ground in a couple of easy steps." Octharius: "The most crucial step to neutralize such a huge threat is to select the right weapon for the job. Or weapons, shall we say. I opted in for an axe-chain because I believe this is the most versatile melee weapon in terms of range. Plus, it has a lot of potential when compared to simpler weapons. The trick is, however, to master the use of this particularly deadly contraption." Octharius: "So a bit more on the technique you should use. First off, the most important advantage you get over a Chimera is that you have a brain. Well, the Chimera actually has four of those, but let's not worry about that for now. The most important skill you can employ is surprising the gigantic beast, by pretending to be weakened severely on the first attack it directs towards you. A demonstration:" Octharius: "Once the beast thinks it's got you, you STAB the blood out of one of its feet!! Ideally, you'd choose one of the front hands, and more often than not the lion hand, as the dragon scales are particularly hard to try and pierce." Octharius: "The next step is to nimbly leap onto the goat head, and tie the chain around one of its horns, like so: " Octharius: "Then you pull the chain through the lion's mouth, like so: " Octharius: "And finally, tie the bladed end around the dragon's neck, like so: " Octharius: "The snake head will try to attack as soon as you are on the beast's back, so watch out for that. I learned that the hard way. But luckily, I had harder armor. (See what I did there? ) What you do next is anticipate the head's thrust towards you and seize it with your legs!" Octharius: "And then once your hands are free, you snap off the snake's lower jaw! This is much easier than it sounds. Once you've done that, you thrust the bare fangs into the beast's back. While the chimera is traditionally immune to the snake venom, it is not immune to the pain from the bite! Once it has bitten its back, it is usually left paralyzed. USUALLY." Octharius: "And finally, for the money-maker: You take the chain from the closest end to you (in my situation I was closest to the goat's head)" Octharius: "Then you somersault forward while holding the chain. Take care to master your landing. Wouldn't wanna look awkward, now do we?" Octharius: "And finally, take whichever stance you like! You've earned your bragging rights fair and square!" Okay so that's done. Some more shots of the beast? < Goat Side > < Goat Closeup > < Staring into your SOUL!!! > < CHAOS!!! > < Lion head Closeup > < Dragon Head > < Dragon Head- Side > < Dragon Arm > < Dragon Lower Arm > < Goat Hind Leg > Onto a few shots of Octharius: < Killed it! > < Closeup > < Comparison Shot > < Comparison Shot 2 > Creator's Commentary: This is an alleged face-off MOC (see what I did there? ). After the 50-50 Challenge on MOCpages, Callum Lincoln and I decided that we'd do a face-off, with Chro as the judge. Sadly, I had not been able to post the Chimera MOC any sooner due to having so much on my hands at uni. The Chimera was finished completely on the 12 of November 2013, some 1.5 months from when Cal and I decided to do a face-off. So think of this as an apology, Cal, for not having posted it sooner. It was a pleasure competing against you, and I will see you again... on the building grounds!!! The initial concept was going to be used for the earlier rounds of the 50-50 Challenge, where I was going to use only two of the 4 heads, the lion head and the goat's head. The idea was to create a "precious metal chimera" with just the lion and goat, but I think this turned out a whole lot better. Octharius was just a display dummy to compare the chimera to an average hero build, but I figured I might as well build a decent-looking MOC and have a bit of fun with it. I happen to like the ideas used on him; the asymmetrical armor, and the visor, and stuff. So that's all I have the time for today! C&C is definitely welcome, so please don't hesitate to let me know what you think! Coming soon: An LDD giant mech. WHAT?! Some recent stuff: --> Sevla: Reanimated --> LDD Tahu --> Zardius (Titans Vs Monsters ) --> Darklight Paladin EDIT: If you like this MOC, please don't just visit and leave unnoticed. If you have any criticism whatsoever I'll be glad to hear it! Otherwise, you could up-vote the topic if you wanted to! It's a (new?) feature that I just noticed this morning. Thanks!
  3. Hey guys! I'm in search of some Kanohi and armor pieces that will come in handy for MOCing. I live in the UK and am currently looking for some of the following things in a good condition: Pearl light grey Pearl Gold Ignika (or if it's flat silver that's fine too! Whichever color it comes in really.)Pearl Gold/Metallic Gold/Pearl Dark Grey Kanohi (list the ones you would want to part with)Item no. 64272 in Dark Purple (multiples of 2 or 3)Item no. 61796Dark Grey/Pearl Light Grey/Pearl Dark Grey chainsPearl Gold Hero Factory Engine Item no. 92215 in Pearl GoldItem no. 92216 in Pearl GoldItem no. 87820 in black (multiples of 2)Assorted Flat silver/Pearl Light Grey armorAssorted Bohrok/Bohrok Kal shieldsItem no. 90650 in Dark PurpleKnights' Kingdom armor pieces (show me what you want to get rid of!)I don't really have much to trade, save for a brand new, sealed 6202 Breakout Rocka. So I will be buying the said pieces most likely. If you have any of these things AND LIVE IN THE UK, feel free to drop me a PM to suggest a price. Bear in mind, however, that I am a university student and therefore want to spend as little as possible on these things. I don't really have anything else to say. No stipulation about payment either. Well, that's all I have to say, so thank you for your time, and hope we can help each other out
  4. Quite ironic. I am so relieved that you like it. Thank you, and sorry again for not posting it sooner.
  5. This PBZP was requested by Voxumo (Vox in a Box) a while ago. I completed the MOC on the night he requested it. But for some reason, everytime I tried to take photos of it, something would go wrong. And I mean Every.Single.Time!! One time I took over 40 pics, all of which were useless due to repulsive lighting and no adequate backdrop to take photos against. The other time, I had just started Christmas Holidays and was about to head for London when I decided to take photos. Of course, those were rushed, and unusable yet again. This time, however, I would not let the circumstances get in the way. So I bought enough lights, made a reasonable lightbox and took the photos. They're not super-wow but...enough blabbering, I'll take you straight to the MOC! < Back Shot (cool pose as well ) > < Action Pose! Ready to take you down! > < Close-up Shot > < Hand > < Legs > The photoset Voxumo asked for a white and black Vortixx-type character, with accents of gold and some dark grey. He also asked for armblades and an axe-like weapon. I really like this MOC. The original version was finished up quite quickly, but had a weak waist construction so I had to revise that part. This, however, involved rebuilding the whole torso, because the way the waist was built had a ball joint that wasn't secured in place, and thus required an axle with an end-stop to seal it in place. This idea only came to me after a couple months of keeping the MOC with a flimsy upper body. Anywho. Apologies for Voxumo, who had to wait ages and ages for me to upload this creation. I hope you like it! Let me know what you think. C&C is always welcome!
  6. That is unbelievably awesome!
  7. A FeMOC that was mainly constructed during Christmas vacation, but was only finalized last night. I have successfully developed, through much experimentation and imagination, what I shamelessly deem to be my best female torso design as of yet. This is my second LDD MOC that uses the HF 2.0 helmets as breastplates for a female MOC. I didn't want to risk oversizing that region, and I happen to think that for this MOC's proportions they look great. So let me know what y'all think! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Darksiders/LegoDigitalDesigner/Princess/warrior_princess_main.png Full body shot Wielding Crossbow Side Back Demonstrating the...umm...goods? Tune in for more MOC's coming this week, including more LDD stuff! Other recent works: --> Sevla: Reanimated --> LDD Tahu --> Zardius (Titans Vs Monsters ) --> Darklight Paladin Edit: Image linked: please keep posted images in BBC to 640x640 pixels and 100 kB. -Wind-
  8. You're actually right about the knees. Wish I'd noticed that earlier. Anyways, thanks a lot for your feedback
  9. Glad you like it! I know what you mean about the Knights Kingdom copper gold. It's what I could manage, though. Also, I don't think they exist in Pearl Gold anyway; wish I'd known when I got them from BrickLink :/ Thanks for your comment
  10. I think it's the 2010 one, because of the cross-hole, and it is the only one on LDD. I didn't think it'd make much of a difference. Thanks for your feedback! I'll be posting your PBZP soon Sorry for the wait. The fact that he's slightly hunchbacked is intentional; I was trying to mimic his posture in one of the comics I'd seen long ago. Not sure which one though. Also, those KK pieces are some of my favorite System decorative elements. I just love the curving and texture on them. Thanks for your comment!
  11. Mine? No. It's Voxumo's. But wait. Am I making one for you? Oh wait... I made one which was horrible and I never had the guts to post it. Would you still like me to make another one? As for the MOC, thanks! And NO! That thing on his helmet is not an eye, and it will never be!
  12. So, this guy was uploaded towards the end of August/beginning of September. Got erased due to the downtime. I've been wanting to re-upload the MOC because I feel it's one of my few tangible accomplishments when it comes to MOCing. He's also my Self-MOC. Moving on.... Remember him? MOCpages Brief backstory: "All Lumi must die. When a Lumi has fulfilled his purpose in this Universe, his Vessel form is taken to the birthplace of his Ancestors, where he is given enough energy and time to carve out his own burial chamber. No-one else is there to grieve his death, and he passes on, unlamented. Our tragic hero, after being "killed" in Phantom Terror's The Adventures of Sandstorm, is taken to his Home Planet, where he witnesses the deserted ruins of his Predecessors, marvelling at the sights of the enormous structures they had constructed in the peak of their civilization. He journeys on to his House's burial grounds. He sees his Wall, the wall he must tear down to bring his weakened body to eternal rest. He picks up the Hammer, the sacred artifact that the Lumi use to destroy the wall, which is rebuilt as soon as the Lumi is in his chamber, and has closed his eyes one last time. However, the Hammer disappears in a blinding flash of light. A light that even a Being of the Light cannot bear to witness. He is transported to a massive, dark, dome-shaped chamber, with only a pillar of light in its center, shining at a statue that bears significant resemblance to our hero. Much larger in size, and with mysterious-looking armor of crimson and gold. A thunderous voice breaks the deafening silence. "You have not yet fulfilled your purpose, Sevla. Now, don the Paladin's Armor, and rise to your Destiny." Baffled, Sevla looks around frantically to try and locate the source of this sound. Another flash of blinding light takes him by surprise. Suddenly, Sevla is Reanimated. In his hand, a glorious Claymore is held. It has the word Belligerence engraved upon its blade. Sevla now knows what he must do to finally fulfill his purpose, and save the remaining Lumi from the fate that awaits them." This is a little different from the previous back story, but I feel that this one is written in a slightly more mature style. Now, onto the MOC. I really love what I've done with it. There are many techniques I've used here unlike anything else I've ever done. This is thanks to a Bricklink order that I've made at the start of last summer. I now have plenty of pearl gold, as opposed to none at all previously The proportions kind of remind me of Optimus Prime for some reason. Don't ask me why I said that. Just in case someone says something about the freakishly long legs (Which I actually happen to like on this guy.) I was very pleased with how he ended up looking, but I still think there's room for improvement. Perhaps stronger joints and a bit more streamlining will do him great. I'm eager to know what you guys think, so C&C as always! Stay tuned for more MOC's till the end of January, including a PBZP and an apology MOC (Chro will know what I'm talking about)
  13. There's no wonder why I've been using his symbol to end my posts for as long as I've been here on BZPower. Praise Tohu!
  14. Guess who it is! When I found that mask on LDD, I thought to myself I had to do a revamp of the most iconic character from the Bionicle Universe. Here he is, ladies and gents, in all his pixelated glory. Epic Pose! Front Side Back Hope you guys like! C&C is more than welcome, as always! Stay tuned for more things till the end of January!
  15. Fantastic build overall! And I love how you built the waist and hips. I will be posting a feMOC in the near future that incorporates similar techniques.
  16. This reminds me so much of THIS!! Looks great! I love the armoring work on the legs. Your Self-MOC has gone through a lot of changes if I must say. Well done; this one is the best yet.
  17. Gosh, you are so cool for doing this! Not that many people do that in order to appease contestants. I salute you.
  18. Hey y'all! Haven't posted here in eons. *Dusts off computer* Anyways, here's a topic with my entries to the Save the Alien Hunters Space-themed Contest. I have a total of two entries, and they're both LDD-made. I've recently been practicing with LDD, and I think it does show on these MOC's. I've managed to develop somewhat of a style, with weird construction angles' being its defining point. Along with the entry pics is a small descriptive paragraph of each MOC. Kinda like the descriptions you get with most LEGOTM sets nowadays. Entry 1: Ballad's Muscle Machine "Nothing says muscle quite like a heavily-armed, and armored, space-mech with a giant fist, arm-mounted plasma cannon and turret-mounted rotary blaster with flick-fire missiles. And to top it all off, a tri-nozzle jet engine to catapult the giant battle machine into the depths of space! Your enemies won't realise what's coming, until Burt Ballad has taken them all out!" This monstrous flyer hailing from Glee's home planet has numerous battle capabilities: Hover over the alien scum and shred them to bits using your tri-saw attachment at ridiculous speeds; or deploy the warp-drive functionality that separates the vehicle into two parts; a multi-dimensional warp-gate to send your enemies to unknown places, and an agile starship armed with laser blasters and a giant thrust engine. That will teach the aliens never to mess with the Alien Hunters!" 19. Edit: I've modified my entry to include only ONE pic of each entry, as long as the entry topic for both. 20. I, too, belong in camp "Hopeful-but-not-too-bothered-it-ended". I personally think Bionicle's turning point as a toyline was the year they introduced the Metru Nui line. There was more substance to the MOC's you would be able to make at the time. That's also when I truly became an invested fan in the theme. That is not to say I wasn't before; my first-ever Bionicle set was the Nui-Rama, and I have truly cherished my short-lived time with this specific set, since I lost most of its pieces shortly after (a mystery to this day). I personally prefer the aesthetics of the later year's sets to the previous ones, and this reflects quite well onto my MOCing style, with a very non-aesthetic use of Technic in general. I think that another reason for Bionicle's decline, though, was that LEGO was not always able to cater for our whims as they launched more and more Bionicle sets. The reviews some of their sets got over the years could have helped steer them away from investing that much more in the theme. That being said, I think that the sets need not be "perfect", as this would leave "revampers" pretty much jobless (and by revampers I mean MOCers who make up to moderate changes to the general look of sets, while keeping the main aesthetics). Story-wise, Bionicle, despite its enormity, was my realm. Not that I know everything there is to know about it (I genuinely don't), but the story was so engaging for me that I felt it was the only canon I could ever look up to and draw inspiration from, also while trying to visualise some of the unseen characters and locations. I would love it if LEGO actually did reboot Bionicle, but I would genuinely not know what to expect. I think, though, that there is much room to create new characters/canon versions of mentioned characters, like more Dark Hunters, for example, or a line dedicated to characters from the Order vs Dark Hunters, or something crazy like that
  21. Please, oh please, make the entry period longer :/ I haven't been able to touch my Lego due to how busy I've been recently. I miss MOCing
  22. Avatar, Five Finger Death Punch and Avenged Sevenfold...last night in Manchester. Now I can die in peace. Prodigia comploratus Silens, oro Regnet exitium
