The BZPRPG recently-ish introduced a new species, the Draconic Mystix, and I wanted to get into some of that action! The wing membranes are purely decorative, and clearly not attached to the body itself. If it existed in set form, it would likely make use of cloth. I based the head on a scaled-down approximation of the Tahtorak, and just kind of went ham for the rest. Oh, here it is, fighting a Rock Lion! And for good measure, a close-up of the head. The main head part is the Ash Bear head custom piece from Galva's custom Stud.io pack. The jaw, as you can see, is made with System parts, attached via clips to a bar piece inside. Hope you like it! His name is Tavo'ssa. You get a like if you understand the reference!

Quinglong One day I got two Ninjago spinners and tried putting one on top of the other. I liked the shape that was formed and it immediately reminded me of the body of an Asian dragon, so I ordered 28 more spinners and decided to build a green and gold dragon. For the eyes I used a special Dots round tile.... well, it's not even round, it's actually a glittered octagonal jem, a very cool piece. 26/07/23

506 pieces, $39.99 More photos on Instagram. Ninjago always has to do dragons, and I’ve appreciated how they’ve continued to crank out various fun designs over the years. The Jungle Dragon brings on a slightly revamped design but with a lot of teal, so what’s not to love? Also featuring the new Island / Jungle theme, so a new round of characters! You get four figs: Jungle Lloyd, Jungle Zane, PoulErik, and Thunder Keeper. The two islanders share the same torso design, with grass woven armor and lavender skin. Thunder Keeper has a brilliant looking mask, while PoulEric has two stacked heads, which is a fun concept. The new Ninja outfits include some new rugged textures, and Lloyd shows off his new hairpiece. Zane also has a little sailboat mini-build, keeping with the Ninja boat designs for the theme. It’s compact but still captures the same essence as the larger catamarans. The most interesting part of the build is that the dragon comes with a angled bend in the middle of its back, giving it an odd bent appearance that makes posing it a bit interesting. This also means that the legs, which are fairly short and lack elbow joints (per usual), don’t have a lot of range of motion; they mostly need to be extended all the way down to keep the dragon’s lowered belly off the ground. I’m not entirely thrilled with the design. On one hand, it gives the dragon a somewhat more canine and playful appearance, but I have not been happy with the posability of the whole thing. I don’t know the best ways to fix it either; the bend in the body could be on a joint, but the design is built around a rigid structure and adding another joint might be too weak to hold it together during play. The tail design is again loosely connected via technic axles, so it flops back and forth (which again makes it kind of dog-like.) The wings are also very bare-bones and difficult to pose well. The head makes good use of the new mold elements, and the attachment for the jaw does allow for the tongue to hang out, which just solidified the dog-ness of this dragon. I’m not super impressed with the build, to be honest. And yet, for all that it’s lacking, this dragon has character!. The head is very expressive, the few poses it can be in makes it look more playful and less intimidating than previous dragons, and the teal and gold color scheme works extremely well. So, in the end, I have to say that this dragon is indeed worthwhile. Plus, lots of teal pieces and some nice figs (including an exclusive Zane) meant that it was a must buy for me.

So I'm still too lazy to do proper front page reviews with custom pictures, write-ups, and massively edited video... and also we've stopped doing Youtube Livestreams. But I still have a backlog of sets I want to build (and talk about) so I'll be posting a few more brief blog reviews with images via Instagram! (Since Flickr has it's whole image count thing). So without further ado... Ninjago's 70678 Castle of the Forsaken Emperor More Instagram photos and videos Gotta be honest, I picked this up for the cool minifigures and then for the pieces, but the build itself is actually pretty neat too. It's $99.99 for 1218 pieces, so a bit pricy but still a decent value. It comes with 7 figs, a dragon, a guard tower, and a "castle". The figs are good. The Ice Emperor has some neat printing on him and enough hints to verify that it is actually evil Zane. (Haven't quite caught up on the show, don't know how he turned out this way but just know that he did.) The other Blizzard minions are okay but again fairly generic; azure katanas for the win though. Cole is a nice grab, and this is the version of Lloyd with the could energy helmet which was a huge want for me. But the fox-like Akita steals the show for the figs here; good printing but also an excellent helmet. The guard tower is so-so; it has a little mini prison on the bottom, but the cooler design is the functional crossbow at the top. (I mean, it doesn't function like a crossbow but it looks really close and the spring loaded launchers handle the action feature well enough.) The main castle involves an icy throne with two towers rising up to the sides. The ice detailing on the throne is cool and I like the use of the printed flags as roof elements. But the coolest part is the action feature. Place the ninja in the ice spikes and push the lever; the two towers split out to reveal the throne, which has ice blasts shoot up behind it. Best of all, the spikes in the front spin, so when you put Lloyd in his tornado it looks like his Spinjitzu causes the towers to slide away as he approaches the emperor. I think this is the cleverest incorporation of Spinjutzu into a Ninjago set ever. Very fun. Of course, the true highlight of the set is the dragon. To be fair, there have been a few other brick built Ninjago dragons who have used a similar design with the wings before (NRG Green Dragon pops to mind) but this is the first one I've picked up like this and I'm totally impressed with it. In addition to decent posability, the icy color scheme totally works. Only real downside is that the head is a bit small and doesn't stand out compared to some of the other dragons we've seen out of Ninjago. But it is still up there as a great model and I've already taken it to work to display on my desk. Woo. Overall, I think this is a very worthwhile set, capturing a lot of great things from Ninjago and mixing it with the cool icy theme. It's a little expensive, yes, but if you can handle the price I'd totally recommend this. Anyway, thanks for reading, planning to go through a couple of other 2019 sets that I've been hording and post some pictures and reviews.

The Gamma Dragon flys high into the sky to absorb gamma rays usually shielded by the atmosphere. Theses rays allow for tremendous power and give it a glowing appearance. -------------------- I finally got a chance to put the head used for my profile picture into a moc! Full-size pictures can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/gamma-raay/31365486326/in/dateposted-public/ Thanks for checking it out! Let me know what you think.

You might remember the Skeleton Dragon moc I posted years ago. Well since then I've made even more changes to it. I'm only able to post pictures now since we got new parts in LDD. Changes from the last one are a new brick built head, Brick built legs and wings and some slight torso tweaks. I only have LDD pictures but will post real life pictures once a Bricklink order comes in. I'm 90% sure this is the final version but who knows maybe as more new pieces are created I'll find a use for them to improve the design further Gallery when public http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=563306 Lxf file http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon.lxf Pictures http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_1.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_2.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_3.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_4.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_5.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_6.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/skeleton_dragon_7.png As a bonus an Lxf file for a smaller more minifig scale sized skeleton dragon (Real life pictures of it will be posted as well) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/SkeletonDragon/mini_skeleton_dragon.lxf Comments and criticism appreciated

Well, after BBC#71, which was a bit disappointing for me at least, turns out I'm back with another MOC, but it's not of any old imaginary creature of the night, nor an alien race of chess pieces. It is, as the title suggests, none other than my favourite video game character ever. Spyro the Dragon! This in particular is based on his original Nineties game appearances (not Skylanders) which holds quite some nostalgia for me. I always wanted to build this little guy with Technic and CCBS bits, but sadly, not enough pieces exist in the right colours so, rather than my original intention to build this in real life, I had to resort to LDD. And here it is: Here's the stuff I wrote for the Flickr description: Having recently rediscovered all the old things I used to love as a child (from the Nineties), I recently had an overwhelming urge to build one of my favourite video game characters ever. Spyro the Dragon. This MOC is based on the appearance of classic Nineties Playstation 1 Spyro (not Skylanders Spyro, I wish classic Spyro would come back! Then I'd have a reason to buy a Playstation 4 ). Built in LDD (was going to be a real-life model until I realised the lack of purple Technic and CCBS meant the end result would look nothing like Spyro) and rendered using Bluerender. The model took about 8 hours to build. And as a little extra, I've also built his faithful companion Sparx the Dragonfly, in his full health colours. And, as with the Chess pieces which some of you may remember, I've also made a GIF spinnie. Click here to view it Anyway... positive comments, constructive criticism, upvotes and butterflies for Spyro's companion Sparx all appreciated

My Inquisitor Yandra Adaar. Dragon Age Inquisition was one of the few games in the past couple of years that managed to drag me into its world from the word go. In no small part thanks to the work of the ever-awesome Matt Rhodes, who's style this is loosely based on. Definitely not the last time I draw Lady Adaar ^^

The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Hello all! May I share with you my latest Bionicle based MOC. I have wanted to build a huge CCBS dragon for a long while, but never really got around to it until recently, when I looked at my large pile of unused craft faux leather and thinking that they'd make good dragon wings on a LEGO model. So this is what resulted! You might notice that I did take Bullion, the steed from my BFTGM entry, and used him as a base for what I am calling "The Okoto Dragon" (yes, very unoriginal name I know!) The Stone Protector Leader by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr First of all, a look at the Stone Protector Leader, which I built while building the dragon, and acts as a steed to the giant Rahi. Credit to Rayskull on Eurobricks for the alternate build used in this little guy's construction. And now for the Okoto Dragon itself: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Front view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Side view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Rear view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Top view showing the wings fully extended: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The Okoto dragon can rear up on it's hind legs, though it is extremely difficult since it is extremely heavy. The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The Stone Protector Leader (and other Protectors of course) can be mounted cofortably on the Okoto Dragon, as shown here: The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr And a bonus "face-off" shot between Protector and Rahi... The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr That's it for now. Positive and constructive comments appreciated, as long as you don't mention the keetorange (I didn't have much choice there, I wanted to use the flame pieces above the eyes, and kind of had to include more elements of the colour in the build, since until Skull Grinder comes along, they only come in keetorange). Also, please ignore the pole reverser handles on the wings, I forgot to replace them with bushings until halfway through the photoshoot. Any other odd colours present is likely because I run out of the colour I wanted to use

I have seen in many of the Kanohi canonization topics arguments for and against the Mask of Rahi Control to be included in the list for potential Kanohi. As suggested by bonesiii here, in this topic we will discuss and come up with an argument that we can present to Greg Farshtey on LMB. I also want to include some quick-links from BS01 for people that want to be a part of this debate: Kanohi DragonMask of Rahi ControlDwellers In DarknessKualus I personally think it would be fine that one of them has the mask, since it's described to work better on insects and that some Rahi have the willpower to resist control, evidence of this seems to be shown in Dwellers In Darkness, since there's no mention of Kualus using the mask during the Godzilla Kanohi Dragon & Tahtorak situation. Happy debating!

Well, since I did Makuta Teridax, I guess I had to do his polar opposite, Mata-Nui himself as a dragon as well. This was more problematic since the mask of life didn't seem like a good idea to convert into a dragon face, while Makuta Teridax's Movie Krahkaan was a worthy choice. Well, hope you like him anyways.

This is a small phoenix/dragon creature. I built it about a month ago around the Idea that I wantet a small Phoenix built by Lego on my desk, but it ended up looking halfway like a dragon so I don't really know what to call it. It is very flexible and has multiple limbs spread around his body, so it can do almost every imagionable pose. As well as it's body can easily be split into three parts, which was excellent when I was building this thing. Other than that, it's made only by pieces from the three red Mixels, which you might have guessed by your own by looking at the pictures. Please tell me what you think and also leave a feedback! Pictures can be find HERE!

Hello there, I am an amateur Drawer, Vuk-91. I have been a fan of Bionicle ever since the first years. Let this image be my introduction-card as well as a conception of "Yet another version" of Bionicle's main Villain, Makuta Teridax, as a Dragon. (In a similar fashion to Miserix just not made of lego of course X3) Not too detailed but I hope you like it. I had to use some reference for the wings.

Flickr A venerable dragon, revered for centuries. Records of dragons stretch far back into the fogs of ancient history. Was there a lineage of proud drakes, or was there only the everlasting Frang Kaai, as he once claimed? So, the dragon MOC which I've had in various degrees of completion for over a month now is finished! And I think he turned out pretty well, and was an interesting build, as a more serpentine Asian-style dragon as opposed to my main previous dragon MOC, the Tyrannarahk, which is a Western-style dragon. In part the difference is because I currently think a proper dragon needs cloth/fabric wing membranes, unlike the Tyrannarahk (whose wings I've grown increasingly critical of), and I didn't have those on hand to use. They're also remarkably rare and expensive on BrickLink, especially the Black Pearl sails. Hence, a wingless serpent dragon! Speaking of pieces on hand, I also don't have much blue HF cladding at all, only really what Dragon Bolt had, so I had to make do in that regard as well. Lastly, if any of you are wondering about the name, it's partly a stealth reference, which his bio further hints at, so let's see if anyone can catch it. Comments are welcome! ~B~

Wings folded Front Side Back Top (Click picture for link to gallery) I made this two years ago in 8th grade. For my literature class, we had to create a... myth, I believe. Or was it fairy tale? Anyways, we had to write a short description of a creature and create a model. Naturally, my first thought was "To my Bionicles!" I started grabbing Jetbug, Rotor, Fero/Skirmix, and a bucket of Bionicle sets and parts. I started tossing things together, and this is the result! I admit, I basically just slapped Skirmix's head on there. However, I did change it somewhat, enough to attach the fire to! Tell me what you think. Comments, creative criticism, etc. I would also like it if someone could volunteer to... teach me how to make a custom MOC, so to speak. Send me pictures of building techniques, stuff like that. I'd appreciate it if someone could.

Sometime last year, I built one medium-sized mech based off of some Exo-force sets and the images we had of Kai's Fire Robot. This mech, which I now call the Dragon Claw, initially had no gold, but I felt that it looked too dull, so I gave it some gold highlights where I deemed appropriate. And then, just a month or two ago, I built a skeleton-based mech for my brother, this one called Bone Raider. It's whole design started with the claw, and I decided to build a skeletal mech that fit that particular look. I figured I'd bring them to you all at once. (Let me apologize in advance for the bad lighting--my equipment wasn't exactly cooperating when I took these pictures. Yes, the Dragon claw is dark blue, in case the pictures are worse than I thought.) First up is the Dragon Claw: Front Back Pose Cockpit Gallery And here's Bone Raider: Resting Front Back Cockpit Pose Gallery And the two battle machines together. That's all for now. Next up will be a couple of starships. Until then, thanks for looking!

I had built a green dragon for my little sister a month or so ago, and she thought I needed a blue dragon of my own. So, I built this. Main Pic Side Back Attack Gallery Have at it.

Yes, I know this is nothing like the original. I liked the concept quite a bit, but hated the official representation, so I decided to make an attempt at a better version. Consider it a revamp in terms of idea, not in build.Feedback is appreciated. Make sure to check out Agnavar, Karda, and Radiak!

So.... I finished making this the night before the official deadline, and took photos of it on the following day. But since we (thankfully) got a deadline extension due to the forums' being down I took a new set of photos and posted them on my photostream today. And now, behold the Dragon Lord in all his epic glory!!! He is involved in my (yet-to-be-written) storyline of Planet Gyptus. Here's a little backstory: He is a leader of the Dragonoids, a race of humaoid dragons that are in battle against the Arbiters, who were sent by the Interplanetary Council to the Planet Gyptus, on a mission to end the war between the Anubians and the Horeans once and for all. The dragonoids have taken sides with the Anubians, due to a shared interest in eradicating the Horeans. After losing his ability to fly due to an accident in his childhood, Rahkvrindigul devised an armor suit that enabled him to teleport to any location within a 20-mile radius. He used this skill to subdue his older and much more skillful brother, Vardrazan, during a battle to determine the future leader of the Dragonoids. More backstory later! And here is a slideshow, for convenience. Enjoy, and good luck to y'all!! Moe, out!
