Bzprpg - Po-Wahi

Friar Tuck

Recommended Posts

IC:"I have a cloak." Kohra protested weakly, pulling the black fabric tighter around her torso, shielding it from the sunlight. She didn't care about a sunburn or heatstroke. The light discomforted a wholly different part of her being. A very dark part. "As for bringing provisions for the trek...I've got you here, don't I?"

OOC: Agni, Mef, Valria and Tirokk from Onu-WahiIC: (Mef)"Ah, Po-Wahi," sighs the Toa of Earth as they step out of the tunnel and into Po-Wahi. All around him were great plains of stone and rock. In the distance, an unfinished statue of the deceased Toa Pohatu. His left arm was lying down at it's side, waiting for a few Po-Matoran to connect it."Finally, we're here. How far is Po-Koro?" asked Mef to the others. His eyes were still adjusting to the few bits of light from the sky and the few lightstones around the road.OOC: Am I wrong, or is it supposed to be 3:00 AM? In Le-Wahi it's about that time, but I wasn't sure if that's the right time for the group.-Mef

IC(Zand): "Oh, yes. A crazy toa attacked me in Ta-koro. Were it not for a friend of mine, I'd be quite toasty right now. That, and I do suppose I walked here from Ta-koro."

IC"That... is quite a trip indeed," Naru admitted. "I can see why you're tired. You Vortixx don't even have any special powers to help you, do you?" Edited by Katuko

IC: [Stronin]Despite having decided that his companions were probably insane, Stronin wondered if he could foist them on Naona in return for being released, for returning the crazies to the asylum was one of the top priorities of the guardsmen. However, he decided to leave that until they got back to the surface."Sure," he said, shrugging before grabbing Alex's other side.

IC (Alex, in Syyge's body, Temple of Wisdom):IC (Henkka, in Voi's body, Temple of Wisdom):Henkka and Stronin lifted Alex off the ground and helped him to the exit. Minutes later they emerged from the cavern, back onto the sands of Po-Wahi."We should take him to a medic", Henkka suggested, referring to Alex.

IC(Zand): "Besides an incredible sense of humor and my sharp wit, no. We do have incredible weaponry though. Greatest in the world."

ICNaru was immediately intrigued."Weaponry?" she asked, trying to keep herself from drooling. "What kind of weaponry?"

IC: [Naona/Stronin]The Toa of Iron nodded, and was about to drag his former drinking companion through the desert when someone tapped him on the shoulder. Assuming it was Henkka, Stronin was about to say something about not wanting to be infected with craziness when he saw that it was Naona."You do realise that all three of you are still under arrest?" she asked, raising a metaphorical eyebrow.Stronin gulped, having just remembered the fact. Wanting to foist the responsibility of explaining why they were walking away, he decided to randomly point to Henkka."He can explain," he said quickly.

IC (Alex, in Syyge's body, Po-Wahi):IC (Henkka, in Voi's body, Po-Wahi):Henkka's eyes widened as Stronin shoved the responsibility of answering to Naona on him. He thought about telling her the truth, that he and Alex were time-travelers who needed to get home... but she would never believe it, Henkka was certain."Do it my way", Alex suddenly said and magnetized Naona to a nearby boulder."NO!" Henkka yelled and let go of Alex's arm. Alex's other side fell on the ground while Stronin was now dragging him all by himself. "Demagnetize her", Henkka ordered. Alex's face was full of hatred and anger. "Just watch it", he said. "It's a truce, but that doesn't mean I'm ready to follow your stupid orders!"Alex pulled his other hand from Stronin's grip and sat down on the sand, clearly in pain. "My leg..." he mumbled to himself."He's injured", Henkka said to Naona. "He needs medical treatment. We need to get him back to Po-Koro."

OOC: Introducing... Nova!

IC: KellinIn several minutes, Kellin was out of the inn and ready for something to do.He took out a sign he had written out and pinned it to the inn door. For HireToa of Sonics, decent at all ranges of combat, looking for escort/bounty hunting work. If interested, contact Kellin at Room 808.OOC: Kellin up for hire/interaction.

IC (Po-Koro):For HireToa of Sonics, decent at all ranges of combat, looking for escort / bounty hunting work. If interested, contact Kellin at Room 808.I wonder, thought Nova, how good of a teacher this "Kellin" is...He moved to the inn door but paused there, one hand resting on the wooden door. Kellin could be a criminal for all Nova knew; Mata Nui was not particularly known for having a safe, secure society. Bounty hunting itself was borderline illegal. But then, Nova needed someone to talk to, didn't he?He pushed open the door. The crowd within the inn buzzed with casual conversations. No individual words could be sorted from the cacophony. A few people looked Nova's way as he entered, but they were mainly Matoran. Warrior species -- Toa and Skakdi -- were not that jumpy. They had the sense to hide their glances behind glasses of beer or casual look-arounds.Embedded in the wooden ceiling were lightstones. They gleamed with an artificial yellow-white light: electric-powered lightstones, a fairly new invention that had nevertheless taken off like a Muaka after its prey.Rows of bottles lined the shelves behind the bar. The bartender's eyebrows went up when Nova ordered only some non-alcoholic Bula juice; perhaps the Vortixx was just used to less uptight customers, customers who "entered sober and left drunk" as the saying went. Tossing a couple extra widgets the bartender's way sent his eyebrows up even higher.Says a lot about Toa these days, doesn't it? And yet... here I am, going to see a Toa open to bounty hunting. He probably won't be interested in training. Or resistance. As he clambered up the inn's stairwell, he shrugged those thoughts away. It's worth a try.Room 800... 802... 804... 806...Nova stopped, knocked on the door tentatively, waited a moment before saying, "Er, Kellin?"

OOC: I don't know about the time. Unless explicitly stated in previous posts, I am usually one of the players who announce what time of day their actions take place. But considering my Vortixx and Tpti's Toa only left Po-Koro a few hours ago in-game, it is safe to assume it is sometime before noon.IC:"That sounds like you're assuming I am new to traveling on my own." Kohra said, her smile fading. "I got through the desert to your village alone, I can do it again. It would be wise to not underestimate what others are capable of. Especially for a Toa living in dark times." IC:Agni stepped out into the morning-light behind Mef, taking a deep breath and enjoying the feeling of the early rays of light falling on his body and warming him again. Not that Onu-Wahi was cold, but for the other tribes of Matoran, there was a difference between the warmth of the earth and the warmth of the sun.The Toa of fire heard the Toa of earth ask: "How far is Po-Koro?"Agni went over the mental map he always followed outside of Ta-Koro. He closed his eyes for a moment, calculating the distance."It shouldn't take too long. We're approaching Po-Koro from the South-West. The Motara is not as unforgiving as it is to it's south. We'll have the pleasure of crossing it there on our way to Ga-Wahi. For now, I suspect it will take us until late afternoon, lest we are sidetracked or delayed on the way."

OOC: I don't know :(.IC: The bulky Toa of Iron followed tightly behind, not too close, but not letting his fellow toa out of his sight. "You know, when you stay in the deep, dark caverns of Onu-Koro for as long as I have, you won't be able to see anything when in light this intense..." And it was true, he could barely make out the three other toa, and the road, but... the light!!!! "I might be blind for some time now..." But it didn't matter to him, his hearing was accute enough for him to make out where the other toa were, that is, if he were ever to lose sight of them...OOC: Am I making too much of a deal out of how Tirokk will probably be blind for some time now? OOC: Valria from Onu-WahiIC: Valria slowly let her eyes adjust to the harsh light of the desert sun. It would take a few minutes for her to adjust from almost total blackness to pure and unconstrained light. Worried she walked around with very little vision and grabbed the nearest person's hand.OOC: This can be any of the group: Agni, Mef, and I'making a guess Tirokk?

OOC: Don't mind if I do. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/tounge2.gif IC: Tirokk felt someone grab his hand. Unable to make out who it was by sight, he whispered. "Who is it?" Still near incapable of seeing, he accidently stepped on a rock falling, unfortunately taking Valaria down with him. He hit the ground hard, but his armor being so thick, he was merely shocked. However, as Toa Valaria fell on his back, he could now make out who it was... "Valaria?" He slowly stood up, helping the female Toa up to her feet. "I appoligize... I..." Edit: OOC: Vezok's post wasn't here when I began posting... so... :S Edited by Chief Engineer Onaku

IC: "Oh, it's okay, I didn't know which hand I was grabbing." Still a little blind she wandered again and grasped Agni's hand. Feeling his gentle squeeze, and gasped quietly when she heard his voice. She could have swore she had grasped Agni's hand.OOC: There, everybody wins, or loses, I don't know.

IC: (Mef)Mef puts his hand on Valria's shoulder as he tries to steady her. But, she wasn't the only one having a hard time adjusting to the light. Being an Onu-Toa, Mef was used to the darkness, not the blinding sun in the deserts of Po-Wahi."So, it's still going to be a while," he mutters as he squints his eyes. "Great."-Mef

IC: Tirokk kept on walking, blinking his eyes rapidly, as if trying to shake the blindness out of his eyes. "Darn! This is is unbearable." After some time, his eyes finally began adjusting to the situation. He began, slowly, but steadily, to see better and better. "Hmmm..." He kept on walking, his eyes now rapidly clearing.

IC (Naru):"Zamor? I have actually heard of those, though I've never seen one. By the description I thought it was a fruit! They say those things are filled with... something?"The Toa of Plasma looked closely at the mechanism. It appeared to be a simple spring-loaded crossbow-like thing. Naru was impressed by its ingenious simplicity. Then she noticed something she hadn't seen yet: One of the Vortixx's legs was fully mechanical."What happened to your leg?" she asked curiously.

OOC: Would this Incident With Unknown Details be the one where his sister got killed, or is this separate?IC:Naru winced at the relatively graphic description the Vortixx gave of his leg loss."All right, all right, that's quite enough," she said. "On second thought I don't want to know any more about it. I was more interested in the tech, anyways, if you care to share some specifics with me."The Toa looked around the Po-Koro inn, but didn't recognize any of the patrons there. She turned back to Zand."Er... mind if we share a room?" she asked, feeling a bit awkward. She barely knew this guy, after all, and she couldn't know if he really wanted to sleep as an excuse for ditching her or not.

OOC: This turn of events fits well, I was just about to go to bed myself. (Though I am not a female Toa of Plasma, but rather a male Human of Gaming.) :lol:IC:"Great!"Naru was perhaps a bit too excited, given that Zand appeared to be quite tired. She decided to tone it down until he had gotten some rest. She dug into a pouch on her belt and counted the widgets,"At least rooms don't cost much," she mumbled. A bit louder, she said: "You know, I've never stayed at a Po-Koronan inn. I hope the beds aren't all rocky."

IC: Dece nodded, as he looked at the Plasma Matoran. The Fe-Matoran didn't trust the stranger just yet, but it was interesting to hear his backstory. "I though there were only seven villages," he commented when Stannis finished his speech, "Xa-Koro, Ta-Koro, Le-Koro, Ga-Koro, Ko-Koro, Po-Koro, and Onu-Koro. Are there other minor settlements across this island?"As Dece uttered this question, he wondered briefly about the temple they had left. It seemed ancient, yet still stood as solid as a finely crafted blade. Not a mountain obviously, because mountains are full of caves and can be easily dug into. But metaphors aside, what had made that tyemple, and what as its purpose?

"We're on our own here-like we've always been-and we'll stand or fall on our own"-Tanma
"He may seem slow and strange to you, but his simple words often carry a hidden wisdom"-Turaga Vakama on Kapura

IC:Nichou made a large gulp of his "refreshing beverage" of bula juice (mixed with various different flavors), which, as every matoran with half the brain of a brakas knew, was know for its many uses in rejuvinating energy. He hadnt made any comments as of yet, but he didnt want to reveal much about himself. He was eating some cooked mahi with a rather large side of fried seaweed. He usually didn't like seafood, but with the right spices and being fried, seaweed tasted alot better, In his opinion. While Dece (Now his close friend) asked a question for Stannis, Nichou was listening to the others at the Inn.He overheard the bartender talking to a merchant about the merchant's recent travels. The merchant had been buying some produce in Le-koro. As the merchant's story continued, the Merchant was leaving on his ussal cart, when suddenly a le-matoran fell to his death. how pitiful... Nichou thought. there was a giant funeral procession, and at that part in his tale, the merchant said who the le-matoran was. Tamaru. Nichou racked his brain, where have I heard that before? Nichou splurted out his bula juice as be realized that tamaru, member of the chroniclers company, who helped defend kini nui as the toa went into the depths from which they never emerged...Nichou began to whisper, so he would draw as much attention as he did with his giant spit-take."tamaru is dead" he whispered with a serious tone.ooc: cue the scary music: "dun-dun-dun"time to speed this up :evilgrin:I hope i didnt mess things up *crosses fingers*

IC:"No, we're not as...gifted, you might say, as your kind, or others. But we make up for it with resourcefulness. As for me...I know how to look after myself." Kohra answered the Toa's question. She was obviously reluctant to give up more information on her skills. She did not want to take the conversation back to the glove she was wearing, or what she could do with it.

IC: "A skirmish?" Lepidran asked, "Did he fall while down-tree guarding?"IC: Although she didn't say anything, Clo'on had seen Kohra covertly glance at the glove. And the way she avoided mentioning it...There was definitely something suspicious about it. He would try a confrontation when they got to Onu-Koro. For now he had a duty to get her across the desert. Infected gauntlet or no, he couldn't let her fall prey to the hazards of the Motara

OOC: Speaking of Hazards, what do you think about shaking things up a little on this trip with, say...a Rahi attack?IC:Kohra continued to walk, but avoided making eye-contact with Clo'on. She did not like the look he had right now and some small part of her kept nagging at the back of her head that he could see the truth in her if she looked up.So the Vortixx settled for crossing her arms tightly in front of her under her cloak while staring down straight at the dusty sand before her feet.

IC(Zand): "I have, and I can assure you, they are quite lovely." Zand decided to completely ruin Naru's plan to offend the po-koronans, by completely overlooking her statement.

IC (Naru)"All right, all right, I guess they would be."Naru chipped in her money and received the key to a room. After locating the correct door, she unlocked it, but was surprised by the weight of the door itself."It's made of stone," she said. "Of course. But did they have to make it so darn heavy?"
