Kopekemaster Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Okay, I know this might seem a strange topic to have. But what do you do for the hosting service for your avatar? Meaning, do you use gravatar or some other hosting service and put in the url? Or, do you [premier members] use BZPower itself as the host (I think you can do that, right?). Personally, I use Gravatar. I have used it for many years, and was glad that BZP supported it. Quote My Writing Blog (more writing coming soon!) Makaru Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Depending on the situation, I may upload directly from my computer. Otherwise I use photobucket because I still think it's 2005. Quote Spoiler Alert
Art Vandelay Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I always upload it directly to BZP, because I don't like being dependent on other sites in case they go down for maintenance or whatever. This is why I'm using my own server now rather than Brickshelf to host images for sigs and stuff. Quote
fishers64 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I uploaded my av directly, use flickr for sigs. It tends to be reliable, as most Yahoo! things are. Quote Hero Factory RPG | Bionicle Mafia XXIX: Storyline & Theories
Hitoshura Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Directly from computer. More secure IMO. Quote profiles
Roki Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Originally I used the likes of Brickshelf and Maj. These days It's just direct uploading. -Roki Edited January 14, 2014 by Roki Quote
Edelgard Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I always upload my avatars n such directly from the computer, but for all other images here (including sig banners), I use majhost since it's free, fast, and simple, and fulfills the purposes I need to be fulfilled excellently. Quote is this the end?

InnerRayg Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I mean it goes down sometimes but majhost is still pretty good when you want a no frills uploading experience. Quote Latest Update: STORM AND SAND
Gatanui Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Direct upload. Not that I upload a new avatar that often, though. -Gata Edited January 14, 2014 by Gatanui Quote - Gata Please don't use my avatar or signature without permission, thanks!

-Windrider- Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Are non-premium members able to upload their avatar directly?Question prompted by: I usually upload mine. Yes, you should be able to. Try here - use the "Upload from file" option. Premier Members get the option to upload files directly to posts; that's what you may be thinking of. I just upload mine from my hoard of Kagome pics. Bfahome Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Wait, you can still host avatars off-site? I thought IPB took that out and gas you either Gravatar or direct host. Which is why I lost the ability to use my rotating avatar. Quote
