The Skrall assembled in the middle of a hallway in Roxtus. A group of Skrall, accompanied by Stronius, stood guard over Zakaro, who had recently been convicted of Cupcake's muder.

 

Stronius picked Zakaro up and growled at him. “Glatorian scum,” he muttered.

“If the great Tuma wishes me to die, I will accept,” Zakaro said, trying his best to get the words out. “Let it be known that I served the great Tuma until the end.”

“Shut up. You're filth.”

 

And with that, Stronius tossed Zakaro into the air and readied his club. Zakaro made hangtime of about a second and a half, before falling back down and connecting solidly with Stronius' club as it was swung like a baseball bat.

 

WHAM!

 

Zakaro flew through several walls, smashed Chro's bed to bits, and eventually smacked into a wall, whereupon the ceiling caved in and crushed him.

 

Zakaro, Skrall, Lynched

 

The sun rose upon Roxtus Arena, and the Skrall mumbled among themselves as they moved towards their prepping tunnels, ready to be called upon for a battle if need be. The Glatorian were still alive and well, and would no doubt be active again during the night. Stronius promised extra rounds of guards, which inspired some confidence in the contestants...but concerns were not entirely abated.

 

The contestants did not have to wait long to find out who would be called. Two battles would take place this time. A note was placed on a bulletin board for all contestants to read, which said;

This fight has narrowed the suspects of who the organizer is significantly.

 

Also I don't really care that we missed a double hang, but it does make me curious about Kaiser's role . I assume we'll find out eventually.

The Slightly Annoyed Sandy, Bloody, Rubble-Covered Corpse would like to say that Burnmad has manipulated his way into gaining 2 coins this round, that of the corpses and that of Kaiser's, if the topic is correct. He does not know whether the coin of Kaiser has been returned as was asked.
He would like to add that Voxumo is not worthy to even think about the great and mighty Tuma.

Lastly he requests a double killing in the round of the next, and to keep close tabs on Kaiser, Burnmad, and that other one whose name is hard to remember and pronounce and type.

"Welcome to the Tournament of Champions, Day 2!”

 

The crowd once again went wild. The tournament director had gone to great lengths to hide the unexpected deaths from the night before, and the crowd was more than willing to be blissfully ignorant.

 

“We have back to back matches for you today!” the announcer's voice boomed. “First up...MOC and EHKS!”

 

The two challengers walked onto the battlefield. Neither said a word as they moved into position.

 

“On your mark...get set...go!”

 

Both contestants instinctively raised their shields, each expecting an impending attack. A hush fell over the crowd as the two Skrall stood there, waiting for each other to charge. A few boos, and maybe a tomato or two, followed.

 

The two contestants realized quickly that the crowd demanded action, and simply waiting for the other to attack wouldn't cut it. MoC pulled out her Thornax Launcher and sent a projectile flying towards Ehks. The crowd murmured at the first sign of excitement.

 

The thornax, however, was met in mid air by Ehks' own thornax.

 

The crowd began muttering, wondering if this round would produce a winner. MoC and Ehks, finally realizing that something needed to happen for this round to not end in disappointment, both drew their swords and charged at each other.

 

The two met at mid-arena, with a flurry of blows following, each one countered by the other's sword. After a good 15 or so seconds...the two realized they would land no hits.

 

The contestants were escorted off the arena with boos flying in from every corner.

 

Skrall #666, MoC, and Skrall #9009, Ehks, battled to a draw!

 

The crowd roared back to life when the announcer introduced the next two contestants.

 

iBrow waved his hands in an attempt to bring the crowd to its feet. Eljay merely gestured rudely at iBrow and moved into a fight stance.

 

“Fight!”

 

iBrow smirked as he moved into position. He knew that Eljay would be sending a Thornax his way. All that would be required was to wait for the inevitable attack, and then deflect the volley back at his opponent.

 

...except the Thornax never came.

 

As soon as Eljay saw iBrow move into a defensive stance, he took off from his position, screaming and waving his sword wildly. About 3/4ths of the way there, iBrow looked up and saw Eljay charging. He stumbled as he attempted to move into position to block the incoming attack, but the sheer intensity of Eljay was too much. Skrall #738 never stood a chance.

 

WHAM!

 

Skrall #738, iBrow, defeated by Skrall #000, Eljay

 

The crowd went nuts, thoroughly excited for bloodshed, regardless of who's it was. Eljay continued gesturing rudely all throughout the process of collecting the reward, and then walked off into his locker room singing an obscene song.

==SCENE 2: A FINE NIGHT TO BE AN ASSASSIN==

 

Night had fallen once more upon Roxtus. Normally, that would signal the end of the battles for the day...but tonight, the fighting was just beginning.

 

The after hours brawling began between two Skrall, attempting to hone their skills for the following day. Jag and Pulse squared off in arena #3, practicing in anticipation of future matches. Pulse, still hyped from his victory over the now deceased SV earlier, had just beaten Jag in a practice battle and was now giving the young Skrall some tips on how to better his stance.

 

“So put your foot forward, like this,” Pulse said, checking to make sure Jag understood before continuing. “Then you tighten your chest and swing your shoulders, like this.”

 

Jag nodded, pausing to take notes.

 

“Then, gripping your sword tightly, start your wind up and then-”

 

BAM!

 

A shot rang out from the stands in the arena. A Thornax collided solidly with Pulse's head, and one rather gory scene later, one less contestant remained.

 

Pulse, Skrall, killed by Glatorian

 

Jag looked at the fallen Pulse, still trying to take notes. “So...you fall down suddenly after raising your sword? Can't say I see how that'll help, but you're the undefeated champion here, so I'll take your word for it...”

 

The Glatorian's actions were just the start of the killings that night. Mesonak was walking towards his good friend Eljay's room with a bottle of bubbly Thornax juice, ready to celebrate the latter's earlier victory over iBrow in the arena. He moved towards Eljay's room and opened the door...

 

...whereupon a pile of canisters burst out of the room and tumbled over Mesonak.

 

“AUGH!” Mesonak yelled, as one particular canister containing dozens of lime green pieces smacked him solidly in the head and made a horrible shattering noise.

 

Mesonak recovered quickly and searched through the scene. After a quick examination, Mesonak found Eljay's body, which had been crushed under the weight of several hundred canisters, and a note left by a certain assassin.

 

“The canisters send their regards.

 

Sincerely,

 

iBrow.”

 

Mesonak cursed under his breath. Eljay would have if he was alive.

 

Eljay, Skrall, assassinated

 

But the killings weren't done yet. A certain contestant sat on his bed, counting his coins. While the organizer may have been running the game, this shadowy figure had been the real one pulling the strings so far.

 

Or, so he thought.

 

His door flying off the hinges and smashing into his wall heralded the introduction of a very different way of thinking.

 

Burnmad stumbled to his feet and dove for his weapon. Unfortunately for him, he had failed to realize that the weapon itself was the trap.

 

And the person at the door was merely an overly excited Voxumo who just wanted to share with him the joys of hugging a Squiggly Spooch.

 

BOOM!

 

Burnmad's weapon exploded, sending bits of it and him everywhere. Voxumo wiped the resulting remains off of his armor, noticing pieces of a horribly voice acted Glatorian as he went.

 

Burnmad, Glatorian Gresh, assassinated

 

“...well,” Voxumo said at last, “he may have been dirty Glatorian scum...but he has a soul like us all. And for that, he deserves a proper burial.”

 

And so what was left of Burnmad's body got dragged to the pile of canisters that had crushed Eljay earlier and was unceremoniously dumped in.

The contestants who did manage to wake up the following morning found themselves survivors of a bloodbath the night before. There was going to be almost no way to cover up the attacks from the previous night...that said, catching another Glatorian would go a long ways to appeasing the mighty Tuma.

 

And, who knows...perhaps the subplot of a Glatorian conspiracy would only heighten interest in the games.

Chro: Was shunned by Jag earlier when he offered him fighting lessons

Unit: Had a modified Thornax launcher with a laser sight confiscated from his room

Shadow Flaredrick: His internet search history for the past two weeks consisted mainly of browsing through gun stores

Also, for what it's worth, I hired an investigator yesterday to investigate Voxumo. He's a regular Skrall.
