BZPower member ~SUMMONER~ made a cool find on the LEGO Club website. If you're a member and logged in, you can check out the building instructions for Tahu, composed of parts from both the Master and Protector of Fire. Unlike the Power-up models, this is more of a true combiner, using pieces from both sets to make one model as opposed to taking weapons from one set and adding them to another. Hopefully we'll see combiners for the other five elements at some point too!

The link doesnt work for me :(

Anyone else?

"http://www.lego.com/en-us/club/member/building-instructions/details/tahu-fa3fa53404284937bc287a9c8a05bd1a' " it appears that this was the original link but for some reason it now appears removed?

I get the same, it doesn't matter if I'm logged in or not.

Yeah I was hoping to see that combi model! Those powerups are cool and all, but they didnt reach my expectations considering that we got amazing sets!

The link doesn't work for me either.

But hopefully the combiner is really cool. It may give me a good reason to pick up the Protector of Fire. :)

Meh...

At some point you realize that you are but a speck in the Universe.

That you time in this worlds is but a blink.

You see the whole of reality as it unfolds before you.

You try to see how far you can reach, and it’s not that far past your face.

But then you come back from the brink.

You hold them in your arms again.

And you know that you are where their world begins.

You are their rock.

Neat design, and I'm going to have to remember some of those techniques in the future. In particular I think the way the model uses Protector feet to fill out the back is quite stylish. And the way the shoulder armor is attached is very neat.

I still think the "Power Up" models have some merit in that you DON'T have to disassemble the Protector to build them, and thus they make more sense from a story perspective than models like this or the Brain Attack combi models. But it's good to see that I was right in predicting that there would be other combi models in the LEGO Club magazine and website, and that the "Power Up" models aren't ALL we're getting.

I'm glad we're getting actual combiner models, but I wish they were more creative. I'm going to make a 2015 Mata Nui cow when I have Gali and Pohatu. :D

Not my kind of combiner. I prefer combiners that are models of whole new characters, like Spiriah, Botar and the Sand Stalker were.

Also, where are Wairuha and Akamai? :P

Now that's more like it! This is basically what I had hoped the power up models would be more like. Hopefully we see more.

Hey, Just got The Protector of fire + Tahu at my local target(WOOHOO!) And I figured i'd show the parts left out of this combiner.

Overall I Prefer the Power-Up over the combiner model, because You aren't left with what's comparable to Anakin Skywalker After Mustafar in the protectors place, ANYWAYS, Pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/7MJbM#0

Real combiners, that actually give something new to build!  Yay!  This is what I was hoping for/expecting, after seeing the types of combiners from Chima and Hero Factory the past couple of years.  Hopefully we get instructions for all six Toa/Protector pairs soon.  I wonder if these models will have any sort of storyline significance? (That'd give us something to call them, at least, besides "newer 2015 combiners."  Have we ever had multiple combiners able to be build from the same two/three sets (Foreign/Kabaya models notwithstanding)?)

Oh, and thanks for the PDF link, Aanchir!

L     This link is a bit old, but there's still some good info about combiners there.

Sure, here you go!

Thanks! :)

Anyways, this is indeed Omega Tahu!  :bigeek:

Man, he is really bulked up as this combiner! I might just get the Protector of Fire so that I can build this!

I must say, the combiner looks awesome! It looks like a bulkier version of the power-up combiner. Kind of reminds me of the Ultra Build sets. Although the new combiner looks too bulky and the weapons look wierd, Tahu looks very impressive.

Anyway, hopefully, the same combining idea would go to other Toa and Protectors, as well as the Toa Kaita.:)

The details page on club.LEGO.com has been updated with a story description:

"Meld Tahu with the Protector of Fire!

The hunt for the Golden Masks has entered a critical phase! Tahu and the Protector are approaching the Temple of Fire, but the lava plains are infested with predators! To defeat the Skull Spiders and beat a path to the altar, they have welded their strength together. The result is a Fire Toa of immense power!

If you don’t have all the elements for this model, substitute something similar from your LEGO collection. Remember you are a vital part of the adventure…take your place amongst the Toa by accessing your creative power!"

There's a very good chance this is all non-canon, but it's still cool. I think this is the first thing that refers to the Temple of Fire by name...

That's pretty awesome!  Great find Aanchir.  I'm getting more and more hopeful that they'll do similar things with the other 5 Toa.  It seems they already have with Onua & Kopaka in the Bionicle mobile phone game.  Only 3 more to reveal!
