  1. Nuju, I think your system builds may just be better than your constraction MoCs. I beg of you, save some awesome for the rest of us. xP
  2. Definitely has that MNOLG feel to it. Nicely done.
  3. There was a Build-a-Dragon contest? Dang it! I've been meaning to build a dragon of my own for a while! I even have prototype wings constructed!
  4. I actually feel like I have a good idea of what Okoto looks like now beyond vague flash cartoon landscapes. I like it. A pity we never got any Ghost CGI promo material- Journey to One is close, but it just isn't the same.
  5. Went to my local Toys'R'Us today. This is a blurry picture of the Bionicle sets in the G2 aisle. As usual, Skull Slicer is shelfwarming, which is a pity, since it's a good source of cool pieces and has a pretty neat build. Skull Basher also seems to be unpopular, and from what I can tell, the summer 2016 sets are proving hard to move what with the line being cancelled (and, in my personal opinion, they look kinda dumb anyways)- at another Toys'R'Us I visited today, I found, among other things, dozens of Umarak the Destroyer! I was kinda surprised to find Tahu, Master of Fire there, and at a lower price than usual! Something tells me toy stores ordered too much of him and ended up not selling enough, along with some of the other Masters, and that's why Amazon still has a couple in stock (if at a higher price point these days). Uniter Tahu, meanwhile, ended up quite scarce once the summer rolled around; I had some trouble procuring him so I could make my Makuta. Also worth noting is that some of the newer sets have higher prices than usual- Pohatu sold for seventeen bucks, creatures sell for eleven, and Ekimu is twenty-five!
  6. The graphics edits are a bit obvious, but the photography direction itself is gorgeous.
  7. I'd totally enter if I didn't already have him. Kopaka's a pretty good set.
  8. It never really struck me how adorable the Va were until I saw this topic.
  9. Oh, wow, this feels really oldschool. Seconding the Handbook thing. Probably would've gone far in that BBC contest not too long ago.
  10. Apart from the silver distribution (a necessary evil, I imagine- I doubt you had the parts in orange or white), this seems like a fantastic MoC. I really want to figure out how you made that torso- it reminds me a lot of Toa Mata torso pieces, except entirely custom.
  11. Came for the concept, stayed for the worldbuilding. Trinkets are neat too, tho.
  12. Bulky and intricate. I love the bit with the tubes! Does the gear function actually work?
  13. Pohatu's always had fingers! What Pohatu are you looking at?
  14. Not sure how these guys are exactly seasonal, but I like them! The spear design is really neat, and I like the use of the Whenua Hordika mask as the back of the Visk's head. The Mogont has a really nice general look to it, but its forelimbs look a bit off in their proportions. Arna's feet have been talked about already, of course- do you maybe have any Metru feet in Keetorange? I think they came in at least two sets- they could work reasonably well. If not, black feet might work decently too.
  15. Oh, yes, I completely forgot about that one! It was like the final showdown Lhikan and Nidhiki should've had but never got.
  16. Why advertise a line that's already been cancelled?
  17. Considering how big Metru Nui is, I figure the chute system would be a bit more complex than that, but other than that I love all the little details put into this! Even the atmospheric picture thingy is brilliant.
  18. Ooh, this reminds me of another RP I used to play before it died, except with less mecha. I might consider joining this. Dogfighting seems like fun.
  19. The head and lower legs seem slightly wonky to me, but other than that, I think your commissioner is going to be very happy with your product.
  20. You put it better than I could, man. 2001 ranks pretty high for me, as does the crazy throwdown at the end of 2005. 2002's finale was neat for many of the same reasons as 2001's, and the final throwdown with the Kal had a bit of that as well, mostly in the form of the curveball that was the Exo-Toa fighting on their own. Takanuva versus Teridax had some spectacle to it, but ended up being a bit of a letdown in the end. Metru vs. Teridax was honestly just kinda silly imo. 2007 and 2008 didn't really have much in the way of final battles, though Teridax versus practically every sea creature in the Pit was wonderful to imagine and Kingdom!Makuta's death was a glorious affair. I loved the Kardas Dragon fight and the revelation about the Ignika at the end, although I could've done without the plot device Zamor. 2009 and 2010 had... issues. As for G2, I felt the fight with Skull Grinder was actually pretty darn good before Ekimu oneshotted him- the bit with Tahu trying to hold him off while the other Toa tried to hold him down, all of them maskless and powerless, was really compelling imagery that I don't think we ever got to see in G1. I haven't gotten around to finishing Journey to One yet, so I'm reserving my opinion of that.
  21. Altering a character's voice inflections is a common way of illustrating internal character development. I figure the Metru's voices were different to help show how they changed over the course of the two movies.
  22. Not bad. Really captures that organic look the Hau Nuva had going for it. I kinda miss the clay-molded mask designs, to be honest. The later G1 masks felt like they were missing a lot of the earlier molds' charm.
  23. Just noticed this after a busy couple days. My only regret is that I'd never managed to actually figure out where to go with my character. xP
  24. I really like how solid the body looks and your version of the Staff of Light, but the head seems a little out of place and the proportions in general look a little off.
  25. It's been a while since I watched Web of Shadows, but I definitely see a strong resemblance. Nice. (Also, the headpiece kinda reminds me of a Japanese straw hat. Samurai Keetongu is a neat mental image.)
