Like most of the comments are saying, I don't believe the design fits Pohatu that well, mostly because Pohatu doesn't have double-jointed legs. Still, taken free of context, I think what you've got here is a very solid MoC. The thighs seem ever so slightly disproportionately long, but I really like how it looks like a lightly-armored machine, with a whole bunch of exposed, complex robotics. Well done.

The Balrog of Moria

Blocky, but still pretty well done. I'd take inspiration for a dragon I'm planning out if it weren't mostly system. -

I will never find out how people come up with these ideas and designs. And I'm not okay with that, because dang it, I want to build crazy stuff too! T_T -
Why pay people to do unpleasant stuff when there's a bunch of random adventurers running around perfectly happy and willing to do it all for free? ... T_T

I take pictures sometimes. My current profile pic is one of them. Yes, I managed to get a picture of a giant made of clouds holding the sun in its hand. I live in a weird place.

Set Review: 75118 Captain Phasma
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
"Captain Phasma can achieve just about any pose you recall from The Force Awakens, mainly because she hardly does anything." Ouch. -

Is a Third Generation Inevitable?
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to Banana Gunz's topic in Bionicle Discussion
It's kind of a sad thought. Maybe Lego just doesn't think it needs to make Bionicle to be where it wants to be any more. -

That's a lot of work you're asking for, man. I hate to say this to a blind guy, but finding someone willing to put in the time, effort, and brainpower (even wording would probably be kinda tricky with that, which means I personally would probably end up screwing up hard) is gonna be pretty difficult. -
I really do think comics would be a good way to garner interest, at the very least, although distribution might be an issue if that's the way the magazine's going. It'd be nice to have promos outright given to you (as in, you don't have to already know about it to look for and acquire it) that are just short pieces wherein we get cool art of cool people saying cool stuff and doing cool things and seriously buy these sets because these dudes are freaking awesome. That very first G1 comic still gives me chills- pardon the pun. Kopaka had a heck of an entrance.

OFFICIAL 2016 Bionicle Topic
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to Makaru's topic in Bionicle Discussion
I wouldn't make assumptions, personally. We don't know much yet about the behind-the-scenes stuff for Bionicle- if I recall correctly, the most we have right now is a statement from Lego's official Twitter account that the Bionicle line was considered "successful", with very little specifics beyond that. So presumably they didn't have abysmal sales. I also remember hearing about the Lego higher-ups planning a meeting to discuss "the future of constraction sets" or something. Maybe Bionicle's cancellation wasn't due to its own failings- maybe it was just fallout from a much bigger issue. -

Uniter Tahu is no longer available for me and this makes me sad because I wanted those gold parts. -
And it took until Hero Factory to get a full compliment of fingers. And even then they still ended up looking kinda weird. Count me in the "I thought the hand thingies were actually shooter thingies at first" group, by the way. I ended up realizing they weren't due to their lack of use in official media, but I think it still took me until the game for me to figure out they were supposed to be oversized hands.

The best advice I can give you is to go read all the rules and guidelines in the Starter Topic and Profiles topic. They'll provide you with most of the pointers you need. Otherwise, Be mindful when looking for interaction; even though it's encouraged, it's not always appropriate to barge into other people's businessIf you can't find interaction, embark on your own adventure and hope someone tags along for the ride. It's also not a bad idea to advertise that stuff in this topicPlay realisticallyGenerally speaking, our characters are very similar to superpowered humans (anatomy, etc.)It's not all about winning. A protagonist who succeeds at everything makes for a boring story. Character development is essentialQuality over quantity. This goes for posts, characters, etc.Don't dabble in staff/plot-related events unless you're willing to risk the consequences. A smart roleplayer with good experience under their belt has less to fear, but they're not exempt from getting their characters butchered or crippledAsk for help if you need it That's all I got for now. We look forward to having you around if you end up joining I have one to add- read all the staff posts about the rules, setting, and tips and stuff. I'm relatively new and not very active, and I've still seen my share of stuff like character profiles with powers and backgrounds and stuff blatantly against the rules and laws of the RP setting, like coming from Metru Nui or having stupidly broken powers.

Makuta the Mask Crusher. Nice. Got myself Ikir and Terak at Legoland Discovery Center Chicago last night. I would've liked to get a Uniter/Creature matching set, but unfortunately none of the Toa I wanted were there. A couple of the Beasts were, but I'm honestly not too interested in those at the moment. -

Man, I would've loved to be able to see these in person. Well done, everyone. -
2016. Bite me. ...no, but seriously, it's hard for me to pick favorites. I don't even know which criteria to use! Not to mention it's been a while since G1 ended, so my memory's a tad fuzzy...

I love the heck out of transparent pieces, but I think I actually prefer them as bones and internal components than armor, because I like the look of armor concealing energy better than the look of naked robot skeletons with flashy bits over them, even if the flashy bits are really neat-looking.

What defines G2 for you?
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to The 1st Shadow's topic in Bionicle Discussion
I hate to admit it, but when I thing G2... I think that cartoony style that the web animations had last year. I really liked a lot of things about G2, but the artstyle is something I still dislike to this day. -
What would you like G3 to be about?
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to RaidMaster Productions's topic in Bionicle Discussion
I've had quite a few ideas for what my own attempt at making a Bionicle storyline would turn out like, but in terms of story, I'd make everything about Takua and his Chronicler's Company's journey across the island of Okoto. The villager sets would be small and cheap enough for impulse buying, and their characters would give more creative freedom than the old Toa Mata team all over again (who in this story would only be cameos until the endgame hits). The backstory would be like a combination of G1 and G2's legens, with the Okotoans having been brought to the island from the heavens by the Great Beings, with two gods, Great Makuta and Wise Ekimu, sent to watch over them- Ekimu and his circle of elders would guide the villagers, and Makuta and his brotherhood of knights would protect them. A century before the present day, however, Makuta and most of his brotherhood would go rogue, plunging the island into a civil war that would only end with their banishment from what would become Ekimu's kingdom into the Southern Wastes. Those hundred years would pass, and strange beasts would begin laying siege to the kingdom, prompting newly-minted Chronicler Takua to journey across the land to discover their origin, gathering friends as he did so. Some interesting notes about this setting- like I said, the Toa Mata would be mostly background characters at first, with each being lord-protector over one of the six villages in Ekimu's Kingdom. Every important character would have some sort of title, like Master Kopaka or Warlord Kulta or Almighty Icarax. Just to mess with fans of older generations, Great Makuta would show up in the background of a flashback to the war or two, but probably not be referred to by name at first, and for the most part it would originally seem like the original lead knight of the Brotherhood, Mighty Teridax, would be in charge of the civilization in the Southern Wastes, only for him to suddenly mention a master at one point, and then suddenly Makuta is a thing. The prerequisite origins twist would be that all the villagers, even Makuta and Ekimu, were once drones on a ship the Great Beings were going to use to terraform and colonize a new planet with, only for a crash landing to kill the ship's crew aside from the drones, who would eventually achieve sentience; the ship would eventually sink into the ocean and be regarded as a holy place that not even Makuta would dare to disturb, with no one aware of their origins there. -
Bionicle Concludes Again
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva) replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
...I think I needed that Faber pic. I've been rather depressed for the past week or more, and this announcement is just making it worse. Turaga Beach, though, managed to bring a smile to my face, and that's a nice note to head out on. I honestly feel like I enjoyed G2 more than G1. Fantastic sets for the most part, and the story, while it needed some work, seemed decent enough- at least as far as I've watched. Still have yet to finish Journey of One, but I'm definitely going to make a point of that now. I do wish we'd gotten a bit more promotional stuff- a couple comics or an Okoto exploration game would've been nice to make the world stand out more- but I'm still happy with what I got to see. If only it'd lasted a bit longer. -
It's surprising how well that design works for both DBZ and stylized Bionicle. Well done!
