  1. No offense but most of these suggestions sound like really bad ideas to me...

    Jeeze, Lyichir, spoilers much?

That said, I could get behind the next Black panther being about all the other characters taking over after their kind, 'cause t'Challa was the most boring character in his own movie. :P And this could be an excuse for them to introduce Miles M. as Spider-Man. That said, mass dusting die-offs are not the dramatic, emotional deaths that they should've done. Characters need to bite it like Loki or Gamora did, but having the majority of the cast survive the massive battle and then just going poof seems like unfulfilling. Either way, I don't consider characters in a comic book movie to be truly dead until their actors quit for good, and even then they could still get rebooted. :shrugs:

  2. For what it's worth, having never played the game, I still rather enjoyed the movie. Of course, your argument about how the game was better is a far cry above the other arguments I've read, which were basically "the movie took away magic, boo hoo." (I personally liked the plague twist, with the "seems like magic but has a scientific explanation" way it went. Plus, a rational explanation for why there were all those booby traps to keep people in.)

  3. I did feel like the action was a bit lacking compared to some of the other Marvel movies. The Korea sequences were amazing, but the finale didn't match up. That said, the women in this movie were amazing, and totally outshine T'Challa for the most part.

Say what you will about Andy Serkis, his motion capture performance here was great. So lifelike!

  4. When don't the Canadians used metric?

And that maple smelling money thing was totally a thing for a while. I know, I heard about it on NPR.

I don't know about the whole "Canada is just north USA" stuff is common outside of our country. I do know that folks from Alaska will say that they're fro Canada (or at least not correct the misconception that Alaska is part of Canada) in order to avoid the negative American stereotypes.

I know in Canada they'll break your nose and then just say sorry. Tell me, what kind of freaks are that polite?

  5. Jetpacks should've come before teleporters.

They also don't kill you and then reassemble you at another location; they just sometimes burn you or drop you (which can lead to death, from what I hear.)

  6.

The scene as I remember is was that Chewbacca had a cooked chicken (which looked expertly done BTW, Chewy is a mad chef) and the Porgs wanted a bit of it. I guess I didn't get that it was implied to be a Porg he caught and cooked; I thought it might just be some meat he had stored on the Falcon.

So I guess this implies that the Porgs can be cannibals?

To me, what stood out more than the plot zigzags was the failed plans. It felt like watching Burn Notice; they'd go to crazy lengths to plan a scheme, get it 80% executed, and then something goes wrong at the last minute and they have to fall back. It felt like it happened multiple times and got a bit stale.

  7. I liked the movie, but parts of it did feel off, and I agree with most of your spoilery statements. However, if was still entertaining, but I would classify it as better than Rogue One but worse than Force Awakens. (And it was fun to see with a captive audience opening night.) I might have to see it again, without the "OMG NEW STAR WARS" feels to really view it critically.

    But one thing...

The Indiana Jones score might be my favorite Williams work. But yes, this movie felt like it recycled all the themes from TFA, didn't really seem like there was anything new.
