IC: Myka (Ta-Koro)

Myka smiled, silently following Zyron, and wondering what exactly he was planning. Which was, of course, assuming he had a plan.

IC: Zyron (Ta-Koro)

Zyron looked around in search for a destination, or anything, really. A plan, an idea... something. But nothing really convinced him. He would have to distract Myka. Or just admit that he was about to get lost if he didn't keep an eye on where he was going.

"So, um... have you ever been to Ta-Koro before?" he asked.

IC."I could do that." Kuyre agreed. Though he hadn't trained anyone in a long time- wait...had he ever trained anyone? Eh...couldn't be hard -he was sure he would be able to train Valria. Things always came easier with her. With a smile, for once genuine, he followed her back to the mystery man from earlier.

IC: Butra

"Hold on" he called out.

"Let me try something"

Butra used his powers to grow a pair of wooden gloves around his hands, approaching Raika as he made sure no armor or skin was exposed.

Butra reached for Raika's mask, confident that the non-conductive material would keep him from being electrocuted.

IC: Zyron (Ta-Koro)

"I dunno... partly because I thought we could explore Ta-Koro a bit, and partly because... well..." Zyron was not sure how to put it. He lowered his gaze for a few moments, then raised it again and looked straight into Myka's eyes.

"I think we should talk..."

OOC: Joske to Ta-Koro

IC: Tuara - Ta-Koro GatesTuara stood proud, Deputy of the Guard; Jaller's Second in Command at the gates. Watching the horizon. Conversing with the Dren that currently resided within her.Don't tell me how to run my relationship.I'm not I'm just-We're doing fine. I don't need your help.Silence for a moment.Fine.Good, thank you. I appreciate your concern, but I can handle mine and Angelus' relationship just fine. I get that things are a little rocky right now, but we'll get through it. We've been through too much to not be able to continue. The beautiful Toa of fire stepped away from the wall at the sight of an oncoming figure across the way. A speedster stopped where the gates were expected to be. Ta-Toa it seemed. Tuara waved off to a member of the Guard who held a telescope up to his eye. He made a similar motion to the Deputy and Guardsmen below, "It's Joske!"Tuara perked up. Not just because Joske was a sort of Guard member, or his status as a Kohli player while he was a Toa, but because nobody had seen him for a while. No reports had come in in almost a week on his whereabouts. Angi hadn't been the best at reporting either which didn't really help. Not that it was discredit. Honestly, Tuara was worse for it, so she didn't really bother others too much for it. She left that to Jaller mostly.Tuara called out an order to those in the winch room, "Lift the bridge!"As the stones in the lava below lifted she stood, commanding authority in the most casual way one could. Joske sped across the stone bridge, supplies in hand. Tuara, if she was still capable would've given a toothy smile, but instead there was a more apprehensive gesture."Joske Nimil. It's been a while."

OOC: Agni from Ga-Wahi, for a post or two.

IC:

As it turned out, what awaited Joske in Ta-Koro was a group of familiar faces.Behind Tuara, there was the sound of feet hitting solid ground. She had just addressed the freshly arrived Joske and now looked over her shoulder, to find the other long-time absent Toa of fire standing behind her, having just arrived via teleportation, a bag over his shoulder. He could see the question in her eyes but answered before she spoke. "Don't mind me. I'm just here to remind our young friend Joske here that there are some things you can't just run from. One of them being me."

He grinned at Joske and stepped closer. "If you think that 'coming with you' means we will stroll after you while you move faster than you can think, you're going to be disappointed. And if you had waited another minute before rushing off again, I could have told you that you can get most of the things you said you needed from our requisition officer in the HQ for free. Also, it is considered rude by most people to leave a place and not close the door behind them. Anyway, I'm heading back to Ga-Wahi. Cael's probably raiding her suply-closet by now and I think we'll need all the medical supplies we can carry if you're taking point in this little treasure hunt. I'll see you in a few hours."

He turned and looked at Tuara once more. He handed her the bag that he carried, which was filled with a stack of tablets. "If you would be so kind, have these delivered to the captain if you have the time. They're the reports that I filed but had to leave with our liason in Ga-Koro in the past month. I am sure he will be delighted to know what me and Joske especially have been up to."

He then proceeded to walk a few steps onto the bridge leading out of the volcano, giving Joske a wink as he passed him and disappeared a heartbeat later.OOC: Agni to Ga-Wahi.

IC: Zyron (Ta-Koro)

Zyron realized that there was a subtle change in Myka's expression, nothing overly obvious, but still...

"Hey, don't worry, it's nothing bad. At least I hope it isn't. It's just..." The matoran sighed.

"Look, there's something I have to tell you. Something important."

Really? Now? He was not sure. But now that he'd already mentioned it he might as well go on.

OOC: Perfect! :D Joske from Go-Wahi

IC

[Ta-Koro gates; mid-morning]

Warmth. Heavy, repressive, hard-to-breathe warmth.

Feels great to be home.

Even at this speed the heat of the Ta-Wahi region was oppressive, and I enjoyed every minute of it; so much so I slowed down just of bask in its glory, absorb as much of it as I could. With a sigh of contentment I cut the power to my mask, watching the stretchy blur of my world snap back to properly-defined shapes and colors. It took me forever to get used to that disorientating visual stimuli, but now I found myself enjoying the light show every time I activated my mask. I suppose after a while I would get bored of it, but for now I would enjoy the little things.

So, the foot of the bridge. Seems I got here in record time. Now I would have to convince them that I WAS Toa Joske and let me-

"It's Joske!"

I blinked a few times, my foot frozen in mid-step. How did they-

"Lift the bridge!"

There was the sound of gears and cranks warming up, then one by one the pillars of stone that rested beneath the lava rose to form the bridge, molten rock and steam rising off the rock to allow travelers inside. Or in this case me specifically. As I sped across the bridge the only thing I was sure about in my confusion was the female voice that gave the order, for it was unmistakable... not to mention the person behind it.

Upon reaching the end my suspicions were confirmed.

Her name was Tuara, but don't let the name fool you. Red-bodied bombshell who was all leg and black accents in all the right places. Tall, slim, stunningly beautiful, and had the aura of authority that would keep any recruit in line. Usually we stayed out of each others way but it seemed as though this would be an exception. As she stood in the archway her casual demeanor still displayed an unusual amount of command, with further piqued my interest when I saw the rank on her shoulder armor. Huh, no kidding. This was about to get very interesting.

"Joske Nimil. It's been a while."

First, nobody ever used my last name; was considered bad form. Second, in my minds eye I saw her give a toothy grin, but the way she said that, it was... apprehensive. Boy, this homecoming was sure getting fascinating. I smiled shrewdly to make a reply, and that's when HE showed up.

I opened my mouth to say something, but like a deus ex machina out of bad play, Agni simply materialized out of thin air right behind Tuara, bending his knees slightly as he landed. He gave an amused look to a befuddled Tuara, then turned to me, no doubt enjoying the contorted face plastered across my mask. "Don't mind me. I'm just here to remind our young friend Joske here that there are some things you can't just run from. One of them being me."

What followed was a classic textbook of verbal reprimand, and there was nothing I could do but stand there and take it... right in front of the gatehouse. And everyone. Talk about embarrassing! Once he was done tearing me a new one (being ever so polite in the process, as was his usual take) he turned and looked at Tuara once more, handing her a bag that by the sound of it was filled with a stack of tablets. "If you would be so kind, have these delivered to the captain if you have the time. They're the reports that I filed but had to leave with our liaison in Ga-Koro for the past month. I am sure he will be delighted to know what me and Joske especially have been up to."

Then in a display of artistic showmanship he proved that he indeed still had what it took to keep up with me, in both speed AND flair. Walking a few steps onto the bridge leading out of the volcano, he folded his hands behind him giving and gave me a wink, his body melting into the vapor around me one beat of a heartlight later, leaving me alone on the bridge. Well.

At least now I knew HOW everyone knew who I was. Agni had been feeding them daily progress reports, per Guard regulations. Typical. I should have guess that. With really nothing left intact but my charm I smiled like a child with his hand caught in the sweets jar, shrugging my arms and raising my hands with them. I flipped the switch for my charisma.

"Hey Tuara; how's the amazon doing today? Still with Angelus I presume?" I paused for a second, enjoying the reaction. "So you gonna let me in or what?"

OOC:I'll admit, I walked right into that one. :PIC: Tuara - Ta-Koro GatesHit him. What? No! I-Hon, you and I both outrank him-And I outrank you. Go do whatever it is you do when I'm not talking to you.Tuara responded shrewdly, she wasn't expecting Joske to bring up Angelus. Of course, there had been stories about the pair on their mission with the Mark Bearers, but for the most part, people knew to keep their mouths shut about what happened during that time. It wasn't that Tuara or Angelus cared much if people knew about them, but it was preferred to stay out of Guard affairs. It didn't do much for Tuara to remind her of all the karz she went through at the time.It was because members of the Guard knew how sensitive the subject was.Utu, Tank, Arekule. All equally responsible for the destruction and decimation of her mind and her well being, not to mention her depression. It was the sort of thing Tuara didn't enjoy reliving."I'd love to tell you if of course we had the chance to discuss your relationship with, what did Angi call her?" she held up on arm, the second behind her back, as though conjuring up some kind of memory from thin air. She paused, looking at Joske slyly, letting him know she knew the name of the healer, "Ah, I suppose it isn't important, I don't remember.""Of course you can enter the village, but I'd like to get some business out of the way first," She turned away, walking, Joske now following her, "I wanted to clear a few things with you," she took out the most recent tablet in the pile that Angi handed her, scanning it quickly, "concerning your mission... I-"She stopped at the corner, noticing something on the most recent tablet regarding a Toa of ice. Her brow furrowed angrily before settling again, slightly taut, "This Toa that attacked you. Did he tell you his name," she started, more of a statement than a question. She looked up at the sightly confused Joske, "The being Angi says you described with dark glowing eyes."

[Ta-Koro gatehouse; mid-morning]

So this was going to be one of THOSE conversations...

Tuara had in one swift comment leveled the playing field, displaying knowledge showing that she not only knew of my training and movements, but of my apparent "relationship" with Cael; which, of course, was a bunch of fiku-wash. I was beginning to wonder what Agni HADN'T told his superiors.

Our superiors. Our. I had to keep reminding myself I was still a full-time member... with quarter-time commitments.

Maybe an eighth.

As she escorted me into the Koro she began the notorious business-like monotone that seemed to come standard with all Guard postings; I don't think she realized how boring and unattractive it was, considering those lips. I suddenly remembered she was talking to me. " ...to clear a few things with you," she said once I started paying attention again, digging out the most recent tablet in the pile, "concerning your mission... I- "

She stopped at the corner, something on one of the tablets obviously catching her attention. Her brow furrowed in anger briefly before settling again, forehead remaining taut. "This Toa that attacked you. Did he tell you his name," Clearly more of a statement than a question. She glanced up at me, noting my confused face. "The being Angi says you described with dark glowing eyes."

"First, give that man a raise; I only told him the story last night for Mata-Nui's sake." I mumbled, realizing just how quick, efficient, and thorough Agni was with his reports. It was... unsettling. I sighed, realizing that I wasn't getting out of this one, and leaned against the warm stone wall, crossing my arms and taking on a cool, disinterested demeanor. Among the Guard I was infamous for my ability to dodge and otherwise circumvent tasks, meeting, patrols, and interviews with an almost debonaire quality; no-one could work so hard avoiding work and make it look so easy, while really not working at it at all. This time however I was effectively cornered, and I supposed I would need the Guard's good graces if I were to pull off this quest. Which they probably also knew. Great.

Sometimes Agni you can be a real pain in the a-

"No, he didn't." I said evenly, my own tone taking on the serious tone of important Guard discussions. I stared neutrally at the ground, my eyes half-closed as I recalled those few intense, cold moments. "But his eyes were something that I would never forget. As deep as they were dark, with a lot of emotion and conflict behind them; that surprised me, considering the was a Ko-Toa. Usually they're quite emotionless."

I looked back at her, dropping my usual panache. "I never heard his name, Amazon, or those of his companions. I can say one of them was a Rahkshi, and the other was what I think was another Ta-Toa, but with an infected mask and what looked like boxing gloves. That Ko-Toa though... he was something else. Massive. Powerful. Had a sword that was a large as me. And a mark. A mark on his arm that was glowing purple when I fought him. It was so strange, I've never seen anything like it before... I don't know if I told Agni that, so it might of not been on the report... "

OOC: congratulations, you are now the third character Joske has placed a nickname on... :P

OOC:It's an honor? :PIC: Tuara - Ta-Koro StreetsTuara pocketed the tablets. Jaller would get them of course, but Tuara would want to look over them herself. She looked back at the handsome Toa before her, listening intently."Massive. Powerful. Had a sword that was a large as me. And a mark. A mark on his arm that was glowing purple when I fought him. It was so strange, I've never seen anything like it before... I don't know if I told Agni that, so it might of not been on the report... "She crossed her arms, looking down at her feet which she shifted to be shoulder-width apart. She interjected, "His name is Utu, last name unknown, Toa of ice. Responsible for the murders of two Matoran in Ta-Koro, assaulting an officer, assisting in the killing of an honorary member of the Guard, attempting escape from a Ta-Koro cell, and responsible for the deaths of every last member of his village in Ko-Wahi."Tuara looked back up, the look on Joske's face resembling one of bewilderment and distaste. She gave a sad little smile, "The tattoo is the 'Mark of Fear'. It allows Utu to take in fear from the area and turn it into strength," turning down and away she sort of frowned, reminded of the two dead Matoran she found in the streets, "I've had the unfortunate pleasure of running into him and assisting him in the deaths and pain of countless others. I don't know the other Toa you described, but if he's hanging out with Utu, I'd imagine he isn't the greatest."The fact that Utu was involved didn't make Tuara feel any better. This day wasn't turning out to be the greatest. Utu and Rahkshi didn't sound like a happy story for anybody that knew what those two names meant. She sighed before looking to Joske again, "I'm sorry," she chuckled a little and uncrossed her arms, walking again, "I apologize both for the added security in Ta-Koro, as well as all the official Guard things. Jaller's been really hard on it, you know how much I hate it myself."

[Ta-Koro streets; mid-morning]

Well, THAT explains a lot.

So this "Utu" was a wanted individual, with a rap list as long as his sword... not to mention dangerous. Which made my minor victory even more astounding. The implications of this was far-reaching, Makuta's web of agents and minions more extended and entangled than previously thought. Still, I wasn't known for an unsinkable attitude for nothing.

"'Tis alright; I wouldn't expect anything less from our 'Fearless Leader'. Overreactive and paranoid as always; who can blame him?"

Both of us stopped suddenly as I casually rested my arm on her shoulders, leaning in on her with a sly grin and a raised eyebrow. Now I wasn't the largest of Toa, but my build at least allowed me to be slightly taller than most, especially females; it was unusual for a woman to literally look me in the eye in the height department, and right now I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Well, the matoran got away despite his best efforts, stopped by yours truly. He can be beaten, he can be stopped; just takes some out-of-the-box thinking. As unsettling as his involvement is, now we know roughly where he is and what his plans are; his moves can be tracked if so desired. I take it that's more than you've had on him in weeks, if not months. That's good news. But there is one minor point that you should know that ISN'T in that report - Utu and I have a score to settle. My last words to him were, and I quote, "We're not done yet."... or something along those lines, my memory of that time is a little fuzzy due to the cold. Which means- "

Her eyes went wide, but before she could say anything I gently placed a finger on those soft lips of hers. Her eyes crossed to look at that, very much surprised, then back at me, my sly grin even more devious than a few moments before. "Which means that sometime soon Utu and myself have a grudge match scheduled. And I guarantee you he will show; the look in his eyes as I froze him solid promised me that much. Now I don't know when, or how, but it WILL happen. Now I don't condone revenge," my voice was low and slow, "but from what little I've heard you have a score to settle with him as well, if not more so than I do. Trust me, I know how intense the emotional fire with us as Ta-Toa can be. So I'll offer you a deal: I'll let you join my little team, my jaunt across the island, give you a chance to bring Utu to justice. In return I would like... a favor."

The look on her face was priceless, enough to make me chuckle. I tapped under that sleek and smooth Iden of hers with a single finger. "You're reading into this WAAAYY too much Amazon. No, from your insignias you've had a promotion recently... and that means you have access to some, shall we say, expensive toys." I paused dramatically, allowing her mind to catch up. "You get me into the Vault in the Armory discreetly so I can grab some new gear I require, and we have ourselves a deal. Don't worry, I'm not looking for much; specific items in fact. But I'm-we're going to need them if this quest is to get done. So whatcha say Amazon? Willing to bend the rules a bit? I do it all the time and I'm no worse for wear."

I leaned in even closer, pouring on the charm. "Just this once?"

OOC:Trying a new color format for Tuara.IC: Tuara - Ta-KoroWhen Tuara felt Joske's finger press against her lips, she didn't do anything at first. Instead, she simply stood there, not exactly sure what was going on. It seemed Joske was hitting on her(?) and asking for a favor- oh, not that kind of favor. Good. He almost lost his dignity and job right there....Oh, good, he just wanted her to give him access to the armory. She almost lost her job right there."Joske," she started calmly, Joske's finger making her words seem slightly jumbled."Hm?"Tuara reached up and snatched Joske's wrist, bringing his finger away from her lips. Only enough to speak. He wanted her to come with him on a journey that probably would result in meeting Utu again. A journey that would probably get her killed. Fight against the impossible odds.On one hand, she would take this, er, "offer", and assist Joske in what seemed to be vital against the battle with Makuta, maybe have another go at bringing down Utu. But on the other hand, she wouldn't have anything to do with Utu again, and could probably still oversee the mission from Ta-Koro.Angelus would be thrilled to know she had started seriously considering it.

Tuara sort of smiled, "You want access to the armory," Joske nodded, "And you want me to come with you on this mission of yours," Joske nodded again, this time with a little more enthusiasm before remembering Tuara currently held his wrist tight. She made a neat smile, her facial features radiating brightly. This didn't last long, Tuara's expression quickly changed, turning back into the Deputy the Guard had come to known and love. Her voiced hushed, she leaned in to speak, "Do you have any idea how much trouble I would be in if I just up and gave you access to that stuff?"

IC Ka'tru:

What makes him so qualified to run this operation? I mean, he couldn't even hold up an ice bridge long enough for me to go down it. How weak can this guy be? Ka'tru thought to himself as he strode ahead of Kaldrus.

"Brother, watch your footing. The land around here is treacherous."

Ka'tru had a plan in mind. He found a large boulder a little to the left of their current path, and started walking towards it. When he passed it, he darted off to the side and hid behind.

IC: Kaldrus

What is he doing? Kaldrus walked around the corner. Seeing that Ka'tru was not there, Kaldrus was disturbed. He activated his mask of stealth and blended into the shadow of the cliffside. Kaldrus placed a sheet of raw, slippery ice in front of him. Any ambush around here will have to watch their step.

Kaldrus began to inch forward, suspecting rahi just around the corner.

When Kaldrus had walked past Ka'tru, Ka'tru jumped out behind him and grabbed him. Unfortunately, he didn't notice the layer of ice on the hot ground, which had by this time melted into a small pool of water.

After standing a second too long in the water, he leaped back in pain and surprise. In a flash he had stood back up and brought his sword to the chest of Kaldrus.

IC: Zyron (Ta-Koro)

"Well, I..." The matoran scratched his scar absent-mindedly, unintentionally hiding half of his face in the process.

Oh shoot why did I even mention it I doubt there's a way to get out of it now... no wait, let's get this done now and worry about the outcome later.

"I have no idea how to correctly say it, but... you're the first person whom I feel I can trust. As in, really trust. And I'm not sure yet, but maybe there's more behind it." He once again looked down, at his feet, the ground, anywhere.

"Let's put it like this: you mean a lot to me."

Silly matoran. Silly, silly matoran. Why did I have to... maybe I should've just shut up in time.

Kaldrus ignored the sword at his chest. "I am here for many reasons. Some of which will be revealed in time. But for now, let's say that I am here to save the island of Mata Nui." With a swift movement, Kaldrus unslung his sling from his back and knocked Ka'tru's sword out of his hand with the ice ball that lay in it. It skidded to the floor a few feet away. "Now let's try to get along. Without any ignorant squabbling and blade-swinging." Kaldrus resumed his walk toward the summit of Mangai.

IC: Xerov (Outside Ta-Koro)

I only take a few seconds to catch up with Feongulf. She seems quite impatient, which is a bit irritating, seeing as she's only here because of me.

Well, this is it. Ta-Koro. The first place I expect Tarrhus to be. If he's not here, Onu-Koro's the next stop. After that, I can safely assume that something (or someone) else has already killed him, saving me the trouble.

Myka was silent for a few seconds, which seemed to last so much longer. Then, she stepped closer to Zyron, reached out her hand, and tilted his head up, so that he was looking into her eyes. Then, she smiled. "Hey. Don't be embarrassed. You... you mean a lot to me, too."

IC: Zyron (Ta-Koro)

When Myka tilted Zyron's head up, he couldn't help but get the feeling that somehow, sometimes, their roles were a bit reversed. His gaze met hers, and when she smiled, he couldn't help but do the same.

Then something in his head clicked, and before he knew what he was doing, Zyron hugged her.

"I'm glad to hear that." he said softly.

IC: Myka (Ta-Koro)

Repeating what she'd done earlier, Myka stood very close to Zyron, gazing into his eyes, but instead of turning away, she moved closer again, and leaned in towards him...

[OOC: Voutok from Onu-Wahi]IC: Voutok [Ta-Koro]Near the end of the tunnel ride, Voutok's reading of the encyclopedia he got in Onu-Koro was constantly distracted by the sounds of crackiling rock coming from below him and rising ash from above and around him. He saw a bright orange glow that marked the end of the tunnel, and the temperature seemed to suddenly rise. He was briefly worried a fire was going on, but he guessed if it was, it wasn't something to be concerned of, as the Ussel Taxi's Onu-Matoran rider didn't even flinch, let alone stop the Ussel and say they'll have to take a detour. As the Ussel Taxi emerged from the tunnel and out into the middle of Ta-Koro, Voutok saw Gahree's previous warnings of Ta-Koro being noisey come to reality. His heightened De-Matoran hearing, despite being slightly muffled by the makeshift "ear muffs", could clearly hear the flowing lava that, as he had read from the encyclopedia earlier, flowed around the Koro and made most of the Wahi outside Ta-Koro both dangerous and nearly inhospitable."And here's where we stop." The rider said to Voutok, who subsequently climbed off, straightening his "ear muffs" and making sure he still had the pouch of widgets (which after paying for the ride, held about 10-12 widgets left) in his right hand and the encyclopedia tightly under his arm."Thanks for the ride, sir." Voutok replied, trying to be polite before departing off into the Koro. Now he just had to figure out how to navigate the place and how to get to Ga-Wahi from here...[OOC: Voutok open for interaction]

Behind this sucky post count, a writer and hardcore RPer lies in wait of a reason to post...

For those who will likely ask when reading some of my non-RP posts: for me, "*shot*' = "I know that what I said was something stupid and I am acknowledging this before people think I'm serious."

Oh yeah, and my current BZPRPG character bio can be found here.

"Why...me? Oh yeah, that's right. I'm weak. I'm of a minority, a minority of people with a common trait: we hear too much. And what we're supposed to hear hurts to hear. When I'm alone in a silent room, I can hear a pebble dropping from a mile away. I can hear a motor boat being started up several yards off the coast. A whisper from outside, I can hear as if they were talking right at me. An explosion in another koro, I hear as if it's just outside. Sounds useful, right?"

"Wrong."

"It's a curse, if you ask me. The same pen dropping inside this aforementioned silent room would ring in my ears. If I stood by the same motor, I'd get a headache. The same whisper would ring in my ear like two metal beams being slammed together in front of my face. The same explosion would render me deaf for years...thank the Spirit I thought of getting me something to dampen the noise, or I'd end up like the rest of my kind..."
