IC (Sgt. Seah):John heard the familiar blue explosion of a plasma grenade, then climbed out off the dumpster, noticing a blast mark. The Innie Elite was still alive! It lacks a helmet, the grenade must've stuck to it, and he must have disposed of it. Before anything else happened, two Elite Rangers jumped the remaining Innies, and John shot the fleeing human in the legs with his M392. "Thanks for the assist, Sangheili."IC (Shor' Talas):Shor extended his gratitude to the Rangers and the human (which he kept brief), then proceeded to the Medic Outpost, seeing if he could help in anyway. "Ultra Kiro, is it? Mark your position, if you require aid."

IC:"We'll have time for thanking each other later," Rachel replied, "Right now I want to hit that apartment building over there and take out the guy camping with the rocket launcher. If we get lucky, maybe we can take it for ourselves and use it against any enemy vehicles that might show up. You in?"

IC: "You bet. We're receiving enough flack as it is. Time for the offence."Allan then turned around to the group of marines that had gathered around himself and Rachel."Alright marines! In case you hadn't heard, I'm 1st Sergeant Myles. For now, you're taking orders from myself and the Staff Sergeant here. I want three of you on me, three of you on Sergeant Cass. We're going to hit the apartment building to our 11 o'clock and take the crow's nest up there. They've got heavy weapons that took out our vehicles, and that we can use to defend our troops. Commander Vale is out there somewhere, and we'll need to help flush some hostiles out to aid in clearing away ahead. But remember, we're here to protect Eiro Jima, so help the civvies if possible. Is that clear?"The marines nodded in agreement."Anything you wanted to add, Cass?"

OOC: I'll be posting IC when I get home from school today, but the reason I didn't post more last night was because somehow our sump pump was turned off, and a pretty fair portion of the basement (AKA where I live) started to flood, so I spent the better part of the night trying to save valuables/electronics, and trying to dry what areas we could once we got the sump pump on again. Luckily, I think the rainstorms are gonna be over for awhile, so this -hopefully- won't happen again :P

OOC: Will be away for the next 5 hours, so if any major battle progresses, John will follow the UNSC-Elites, Shawn with the Spartans and Shor giving a helping hand whenever possible. Oh, and Will saving Mike.

Thomas Hunter- Hunting HackersIC: The punch knocked the breath out of Thomas' lungs and knocked him back a step. Luckly for him, he still had his M6C in his hand, and it did not take much breath to pull a trigger.Ignoring his burning lungs, he unloaded most of his clip into the area where the helmet did not cover the Brute's face. The shields held for the first few shots before popping, allowing the rest of the 50. caliber bullets to smash into the Brute Chieftan's face. When the Chieftan had pushed the piece of scrap metal, it had actually created more cover for Thomas and his companion. Moving quickly, he dashed oround the corner and kicked the first human that he saw in the face, knocking him out and causing him to drop what he was carrying.

IC: [Mike King, Pvt 1st, Deadly Choke hold]Mike reached for his throat, scrabbling for air. The room began to darken, and he knew it would be over soon. He heard a familiar crack of a Sniper rifle, and felt the Elite's grip slacken. Mike still could hardly breathe, and knew it was nearly the end. He had one last thoguht before fading into unconscience: Why did it have to end like this... He fell into a deep unconscience, where he could barely get any air.OOC: Well, it seems to be the end... or is it?Sorry I didn't respond earlier, I was at school and had homework.Peace out until later,~X

IC: Zarana Fehra Veru & Kaldera Fehra Selre | New Venice | StreetsIt took a bit longer to return to the parade street than Zarana had anticipated: a few hostile Kig-yar had dropped down from the rooftops while they had been lumbering back, and had not anticipated running into a pair of fully-equipped Hunters while moving to wherever they were planning to go. Their close range and confined quarters had called for melee action rather than the blasts of their Assault Cannons, but the Fehra pair had quick arm reflexes, as the splattered remains of the Jackals attested to.Kaldera hung back to cover the rooftops as she surveyed the road, and it was worse than she had thought. Twisted metal and bloodied bodies littered the street. Most of the fighting was on the rooftops, where the pair of gesalts couldn't go without mechanical assistance, but they could still be of some use on the ground.A low rumble grew in her thoat, echoed by Kaldera and his deeper voice, until their own battle cry wasn't so much heard as it was felt in the chests of others, as they stepped out into the streets. Their heavy armor and shields proudly bore the symbols of the Alliance, and they challenged any Insurrectionist coward to face them.OOC: Will IC Ket once I decide what to do with her. :)-Inferna

IC: [battle of New Venice - AntiAir Turret]The Chieftan roared once more in frustration, his face bleeding and one eye gushing from a wound- yet the tough hide and skull combined kept brain damage minimal enough that the Chieftan had the momentum to slam into Katrina, his fuel rod being used as a blunt weapon, attempting to slam down and crush her head...The man who'd been kicked was in civilian clothes, but his laptop skidded away from him. Unknown to his allies that it had fallen, they dragged his unconscious self toward the now-arrived Warthogs, the one with the gunner providing suppressing fire at the marines, more engaged in defending his allies than tearing up the two ODSTs in shooting range.IC: [battle of New Venice - Mike's Position]The shot cleanly went through the Elite's spine, and it crumpled to the ground, dead from the shot that landed just at the base of the unprotected neck. The soldier also fell to the ground with the Elite. However, his saviour wasn't alone. From behind where the man with the sniper had entered the scene, four more Elites made their way from the roof to where they'd heard the shot. All of the Sangheili hefted plasma repeaters. The lead one seemed to smile with his mandibles at the two soldiers- one at the verge of unconsciousness and the other with a long-ranged weapon. Their predicament truly was one that seemed uncertain.IC: [Commander Vale] The commander held up the pistol one last time to get a feel for the aim, and nodded to the marked Medical Kiosk. "Alright, let's move!"The Commander ran alongside Colin, with Leliel taking point and Colin looking back behind them to ensure they were safe. The pounding noise of the Cobra's artillery shots seemed to drown out the shooting, but it too would join the background noise the farther away they got from it. Suddenly, their COMMs all burst to life. "This is Graham, you've got a situation.-" His voice cut off as another shot rang out. "You've got two Seraphs inbound, trying to-" Again, his voice was drowned in static from the foce of the shot. Overhead, one of the two trailed into a building, but the other Seraph was now clear of the Cobra's range and soon passed over it."Take cover!"IC: [battle of New Venice - The Fehra Pair's location]The low hum of a vehicle was heard near the pair, and before long a large flatbed armored Warthog pulled up- This one was reinforced and had an extended bed, as well as two extra wheels. Behind the wheel was a graying man with a mutton-like beard that was beyond military regs. However, the man didn't seem to be UNSC. Nor was he with the Rebels. In the back of the bed sat four Military Policemen, all hoisting SPNKr Launchers. There was still spair room in the back, and the man seemed jubilant at his happening upon the Hunter Pair."Oi', Mgalekgolo Pair," The man spoke with a strong scottish accent- it likely made translators difficult to pick up his words. "I woul'ta 'precciate if ye could hop on board! We're gonna' hit a' Hostile armored convoy en route before it gets here. Are ye in?"He looked confidently at the Hunter pair, as if he had extensively worked with their kind before and had a high expectancy for them to come along. Without warning, a man in a long coat came screaming from the diner hoisting a pistol aimed at the driver seat of the 'Hog. A shot rang out.The man collapsed into a pile of bricks face first, having been shot by the driver, who had snapped out his own M6D Magnum with lightning speed and beat the target to their ill intent. He was obviously, despite his graying age, a crackshot.

OOC: Oh, Vak, you so funny.IC: [Colin Ferris]Colin saw the Seraph overhead and grabbed the Commander, pulling him under the cover of an overturned vehicle "Get down!" At 6'8, Colin was a large man, and he used his considerable size to cover his superior as the seraph flew overhead.[Vume Chavamai]Vume grappled with one of the traitorous Sangheili, slamming his fist into the enemies stomach, causing his target to drop its weapon, a Carbine. The insurrectionist growled and swiped at Vume's head with an energy dagger, the blade scraping across Vume's helmet. The swordmaster roared and hoisted his opponent in the air, muscles straining as he lifted the heavy Sangheili in the air. With a grunt, he threw the elite down on the ground. The energy shields shattered as body hit pavement, and the insurrectionist yelled out in pain. Vume activated his dagger and raised his arm skyward in preparation of delivering the finishing blow.As his blade stared its downward descent, a volley of fiery blue plasma exploded across Vume's chest. Instinctively, Vume rolled backwards then to the left, dodging anymore fire. Pulling out his Plasma pistol, he faced the new threat. A Sagheili duo aimed plasma rifles at him menacingly, as an innie human leveled a battle rifle, taking aim at Vume's Head. There was a silent standoff for several moments, and then the fallen insurrectionist struggled to its feet, grabbing its carbine as it rose. It turned to Vume and raised its weapon, firing as soon as it could. Its would be saviors opened fire as well, and Vume leapt into a nearby alley to dodge the fire. Even so, several bullets pinged against his shield, and a bolt of plasma washed across his chest, draining his shields to dangerously low levels.Growling, Vume searched for some sort of advantage he could take against his attackers, knowing they were approaching his new position. Looking up, Vume saw a small overhead not more than six feet above him. Putting his weapon away, he scrambled up the wall and onto the ledge right as the Sangheili duo turned the corner, weapons firing. There shots burned away at brick and steel, but found no opponent to waste away. The duo looked down the alley in confusion, then advanced slowly. The swordmaster watched them, concerned that there were only two. He couldn't dwell on the fact, as the opportunity to strike was rapidly diminishing.Unsheathing his sword, he creeped to the edge of the overhead, and right as the pair passed below him, he dropped to the alley. He sword sunk deep into one Sangheili's chest, Vume letting gravity do the work for him. The other Sangheili turned and fired at Vume, the plasma washing across his shields. Vume dropped his sword, the blade deactivating as soon as he let go, and grabbed his opponent's wrist. Pushing his enemy's hand downwards, Vume smashed his free hand, palm open, against the insurrectionists elbow, viciously breaking the arm. While his enemy roared in pain, Vume activated his energy dagger and shoved it through the Sangheili's open visor, the blade scoring a direct hit on the brain. There was no time to revel in his victory though, as Vume felt the impact of bullets on his shoulder, breaking his shields. Another trio of bullets from the battle rifle broke through his shoulder armor and burrowed deep into his flesh, and a carbine round burned an almost perfect hole into his thigh. Now injured, Vume turned and faced his original target, the Sangheili, and the human insurrectionist, as they both aimed directly at him. Vume was caught in the alley, a perfect target for the two sharpshooters. The human fired off another shot, and the three bullets slammed into Vume's chest, causing him to stagger backwards. Another carbine round seared against his helm, a near miss that could have killed the swordmaster. In desperation, Vume lifted the body of his most recent kill and hunkered behind it as the enemy pair continued to fire upon him, advancing slowly.

Thomas Hunter- Piece of scrap metalIC: Thomas turned back to the Brute who, somehow, was still alive. Not bothering to stop and think about it, he fired off hurried a shot into the side off the Fuel Rod, hoping to divert it's path from Katrina's head. The bullet richoched off the metal barrel of the weapon and impacted into the cement underfoot. Not that anybody cared though.

Willy IC : Willy climbed over a small barricade that blocked part of a street to see what noise was going on. He saw a human, probably an insurrectionist, and an Elite, probably an insurrectionist as well, shoot into an alleyway at a single Elite who had just killed another hide behind the corpse. Well I ain't no #####, and he seems to need help. He made sure his Shotgun was loaded, and advanced on the two, firing at them one shell, and ducking under cover.

= IC / Katrina Grey =Katrina tasted blood, felt it running down her face. Even protected by her helmet, the impact with the ground was enough to thoroughly disorient her. She stumbled to her feet, unsteady, Hunter's fire enough to distract the Chieftain momentarily. She doubted she could aim well - but really, she didn't have to. She scrambled after her shotgun, reassured by its trigger under her finger. Her head throbbed. She brought her weapon to bear leveling it - shakily - against the massive Jiralhanae. Over and over she pulled the trigger, screaming over the squad comm; "Green, Beyer, get those charges set and get out of there! Enemy forces have arrived, get out!"

IC: Zarana Fehra Veru & Kaldera Fehra Selre | New Venice | Battleground/Parade StreetThe closest thing Mgalekgolo could come to smiling appeared on the pair's "faces" -- that shot was faster than their own shield-arm-reflexes -- and moved onto the back of the Warthog. It took a little effort, as Hunters are not known for being agile, but soon enough they were aboard and were ready to roll.-Inferna

IC: (D-052, Lance Corporal Cassandra Beaumont)Cassandra took no satisfaction as she shot an approaching Jackal, after it lowered its shield to take a shot at her, she scrambled to the wreckage of a warthog, as far as her NAV on her helmet pointed out, friendlies were already escorting the Commander.Another Spartan had apparently shortly joined their group as well."Sir, it seems the Commander already has a group escorting him." She notified over their own private COMM channel between the Spartans. "Do we continue with this objective or see if we should try and accomplish another one? The Commander's safety seems like priority over everything else."

IC: [battle of New Venice - AntiAir Turret]The Chieftan's brain had soon failed from damage after swinging the Fuel Rod one last time, and as his body twitched toward Katrina one last time, she unloaded her shotgun onto the seemingly living opponent. The creature couldn't even yell in pain or groal in defiance as its face was blown inward, and the corpse toppled over Katrina's legs.Meanwhile, the evacuation convoy of Insurrectionist 'Hogs began to turn around, their evacuees in hand..IC: [Commander Vale]The man cried out as he was thrust under Colin, the dark-armored man enveloping him protectively as several bombardments of plasma scorched the street where they had been but moments before. Heat wavered off of the pavement so close to Colin's right boot that a plastic strap began to melt slightly. The Commander grunted from underneath him and muttered, "Plataea. Close. Keep...*urk*...moving."IC: [battle of New Venice - Customized Flatbed 'Hog]The bearded man laughed in the heat of the battle as the behemoths hopped on and the vehicle groaned in protest as it bent closer to the ground. "We 'ave a' Convoy ta' hit!"The other humans sat stone-quiet in the flat bed, bouncing as the driver took it through rubble-filled street and turned right, then left, then halfway through a roundabout and past a string of restraunts. On their NAV-maps, blaring red dots began to show up."We've already marked the vehicles thanks ta' Recon Team Bravo. I'll take us down their right flank... be ready!"As the Warthog turned back onto a mainstreet, up ahead of them was a large convoy of armored vehicles- a myriad of UNSC Scorpions, Warthogs, Wolverines, and even a couple of Mongeese armed with det charges on their sides. The vehicles had left their rear exposed to the heavily armed warthog, whom had circled around the main battlefield as if the Driver had known about this convoy from start to finish."Be ready!"IC: [battle of New Venice - Vume's position]Coming down the alley from the opposite direction of Willy, a small fireteam of gung-ho Marines yelled as they ran forward firing MA5C rifles at the Insurrectionists that had been bearing down on Vume. They'd just cleared a small building on the side of the street and had exited through the back door of the storage area. Upon seeing their overwhelmed and injured "companion", they'd shook on it to go charging in.The four were young and reckless- dangerous because of unpredictability. And yet, despite their potential worthlessness against the more serious-minded Innies, their numbers would reinforce Vume and hopefully put the enemies on the defensive.

IC: [Vume Chavamai]Vume heard the explosive power of a shotgun, and noticed a momentary lapse in fire. Taking the opportunity, He rushed out from behind his makeshift cover, wincing as his wounds screamed in painful protest, heading straight for the pair of attackers that turned to view the new threat. He reached down and grabbed his fallen sword, activating it as soon as it was in his grasp.Continuing forward, keeping his momentum, he leapt forwards, slamming his feet into the Sangheili insurrectionists back, sending it toppling forward. He thrust his sword into the fallen elite's back, feeling the body spasm, and then relax. Pulling the sword out, Vume vaulted over Willy's cover and slid backwards against it next to Willy. "Humans, I thank you for your timely arrival." He looked back at the lone insurrectionist, and watched as the fireteam made short work of him.Standing, Vume looked at the marines. "Humans, again, I thank you, but we must move, there is still much to be done."

IC:

- Ssgt. Leliel Harvenheight: Vale -

Leliel had gotten herself to a safer position as well, keeping herself in front of where the Commander had been exposed, for no human could truly completely envelop another unless they had the strangest limbs. However, Leliel didn't feel a need to respond to any statement made just then: she largely failed to see importance in confirming the obvious. "Let's go faster," Leliel stated, not waiting for a confirmation before taking the lead once again. She made certain to not drift too far ahead of the other two, but her pace had quickened considerably -- just under sprinting, to be honest. However, whenever considerable cover appeared, she was someone to take up safety behind it for a few moments, surveying the area ahead and making sure that the path would still be clear of enemies.

IC:

- Insurrectionist Cain: New Venice -

The familiar vibrating of a phone snapped Cain out of a reverie, his hand pulling the device out of his pocket. Without checking the caller ID, he clicked it on and put the device up to his ear. "And who might this be?" The voice on the other end sounded high pitched, surely that of a jackal speaking through a translation device, and the response ignored the usual phone courtesy and went onto describing a few directions, basic ones, directions that any moron could embed into his or her skull with ease. "Cavalier Diner, 7th and Paraguay. Get there." Short and sweet, though Cain doubted that the jackal really cared to be more ornate, or wanted to have a short little chat about the weather or the state of things. As if to prove that point, the jackal hung up before Cain could so much as agree to the directions, or state an understanding of them. "How rude," cain said lazily, clicking off his phone and sticking it back in his pocket. "It's a wonder the thing gets reception in this mess, but hopefully there's enough communications going on and around that people didn't care about my personal call," Cain spoke aloud, walking to the right of where the parade had been -- that mess largely impossible to trudge through. Cain had ease keeping away from preoccupied UNSC soldiers, and the vehicles largely did not care about a civilian who looked like he was heading away from the fight. Either way. Cain had been pretty close to the Cavalier Diner, having been on the streets described after leaving the cafe. With a flourish he pushed open the doors to the Cavalier Diner, as if a melodramatic preformer. "Annnnnd here I am," he announced in a low voice, knowing full too well that UNSC could pick up his voice if they were nearby, simply by listening. Of course, the sounds of screaming and explosions outside should be enough to mask anything he had to say. "So, what's this about?"

I don't know enough to get it back under UNSC control.""Good work, team," said Katrina. "Green, keep that detonator ready, just in case they figure out how to hack this again." She changed her comm frequency and contacted Master Sergeant Antony. "Master Sergeant Antony, this is Sergeant Grey. My squad has just locked down the AA gun. IC: "Let's make this quick folks. Get in, make sure they can't get to our vehicles, and we'll move on from there," Rachel said, "Now, if no one else has anything more to say, let's get to that apartment." Gesturing to her group of troopers, she sprinted off to the nearest cover, as she had noticed that the enemy snipers had began to shoot more frequently at ground targets. "Wonder what happened to the Rangers up there?" she thought to herself as she checked to make sure it was clear to go before tapping the shoulder of the trooper in front of her. The group moved swiftly from cover to cover, eventually finding themselves at the door of the apartment building. "Myles, stay outside for a bit until we've cleared the room," she spoked in to her comm, "We'll let you know when it's clear." Hefting her MA5C to her shoulder, she worked the pump of the under-slung shotgun and let off two shots at the hinges of the door. "Breaching!" she barked and smashed the door in with her heavy boots as the other troopers moved in one by one. They quickly spread out through the lobby, sweeping the area to check for hostiles. "Clear!" "Clear!" "Clear!" "Clear," Rachel nodded, "Alright, Myles, no signs of hostiles for the moment. Go ahead and move in."

He held his DMR at the ready and carefully rounded a corner.Only to see 4 fresh-faced cheering Marines, an Elite and a group of dead Innies."Hey, let's go make ourselves useful, 'aight?"IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn gestured to Cassandra, asking for any word on their current objectives. There was a stair case on the right and an elevator on the leftmost side of the lobby. There was a bloodstain behind the receptionist's desk."Check for vitals," he told a marine, walking toward Cass. "Alright, we have a staircase to the right and an elevator shaft to the left. It appears the elevator itself is here on the ground floor. Both groups form up against the stairs. We're going to sweep the first floor and then see what we can do with the elevator. Ideally, we can use it after we've cleared the hostiles below that crow's nest in order to get a jump on the Innies, in some way or another. Alright, Private Yang, you're up front. IC (Pvt. Serrox) [Holding out against a squad of Innies in a building]:"Oi, wake up! You ODSTs aren't a bunch of wusses! Get up!" Will shouted at Mike and shook him as hard as he would to his television hen it had no signal. Will cursed and dropped his sniper rifle, drawing his revolver and grabbing Mike's shotgun. He peeked out and shot a high-caliber revolver round at the closest Elite's face, then squeezed off another round as it drew near."Eat buckshot, split-lip!" Will pulled the trigger on the M45.

IC: [Commander Vale]It wasn't long before the trio reached the Medical Kiosk, and battened down on the far side. Most of the battle was a dull echo here, with the Marathon-Class Cruiser a mere kilometer away- the Shadow would ensure safe transport for the Commander's last stretch, and in the distance it could be seen lazing its way over, the turret up top operated by a blue-armored Minor as it fired upon an alley wall where bullets pinged uselessly off the armored transport. Inside stood several Sangheili and even a few militarized Unggoy."Hold position and let them come to us." His hand was shaking beyond his control, even though his face bore a grim determination.IC: [battle of New Venice - Flatbed Warthog advancing upon the Armored Convoy]The warthog started to reach a peak in its speed, the heavy rumbling of the rear scorpion drowning out its approach. By the time they'd heard it, it was far too late for them to look back and aim. The mutton-chopp'd driver yelled in his gruff voice, "Weapons free!" The four soldiers riding all let loose high-yield explosions on the convoy, two connecting with the back Scorpion's rear and leaving both the drivers canopy and lead treads as nothing but scrap metal. The other two rockets impacted the suicidally armed Mongeese, both catching the Warthog inbetween them in the fiery inferno that followed. The driver jerked left and right as he avoided both wreckage and bodies while keeping pace with the convoy. Next, he was quickly catching pace with a Gauss 'hog , whose gunner began to turn the intimidating weapons platform... "Hunters, reduce 'em to slag!"IC: [Gung-Ho Marines]The soldiers awkwardly saluted Vume, and looked over to Willy invitingly. One of them chimed, "Spotted a group of Rangers pinned on one of the rooftops! Shall we move to them?"As if to show that the Fire Squad had already considered it, one of them hefted what looked to be a familiar, purple object in the shape of a three-pronged grapple. "Found it on one of the dead Sangheili," he said. A first answered again while the other two checked either end of the alley for enemies. "We think the Grav Lift has enough push to get us onto one of the shorter buildings. Call's yours though, Split-Lip!"To Willy, who would have a HUD that could identify the marines by rank, would have noticed they were all privates- Either their CO was missing, or he was dead.IC: [sergeant Major Antony Graham]To the soldiers at the AntiAir Turret's site, Antony's voice sparked to life in their helmets. Occasionally he was drowned out by the firing of his Cobra. "Alright-- I've redirected Marine Fireteam Charlie-Red to your position. They've got someone with the know-how and the gear-- to get that turret back online. Keep it secure, ODSTs! It's the only turret in range of that Corvette right now, as the one on 6th and Rome was compromised not more than a minute-- after attack. Hunker down until they arrive, and divert curious eyes!"IC: [insurrectionists- Cavalier Diner]Upon entering, Cain would have noted how it seemed to be a locally flavored resturaunt, now filled with evacuees and frightened civilians. In fact, the owners were distributing food and bandaging to the wounded themselves, alongside their workers. One of the servers suddenly took notice of Cain, and quickly made his way to him. There was a nervous air about this man, both in his eyes and the way he spoke."Ah, welcome to the Cavalier! If you don't mind, would you direct some guests into the backrooms where the food storage is?"The man nervously smiled and pointed to a sign that said Employees Only. He then turned Cain to face a side doorway, where two men and a woman in olive fatigues and battle armor were just now entering, two of them covering the doorway as if expecting Insurrectionists to follow them inside. The server whispered to Cain, "They don't know who you are. Just tell them the managers wish to speak with them. Go!" He lightly pushed at Cain in the general direction of the Marines and nervously disappeared into the crowd of refugees.IC: [battle of New Venice - Mike and Serrox's position]The Elite that was fired at recoiled, his shielding flaring near breaking point... Only to remain intact. Another Elite fired his plasma rifle, the shots landing just short of the conscious human's feet. They seemed to be playing with their food at this point, teasing and slowly singing the toes of the one foe that could fight back. The third and fourth Elites started to flank around the man and his baggage. One of them barked an order in the unfamiliar language of the Elites, and all four raised their guns as if in execution..Plasma fire whined from guns like a sudden flood of raindrops upon a cement surface. Somewhere, the high-pitched charge of a plasma grenade went off, and a frightened howl was heard. Then silence... Agonizing silence. As the ionized clouds of plasma dissipated, five ghost-like shapes materialized into silver armored aliens. The largest of them was still holding one of the Insurrectionist Elites by its neck, a gaping and burning wound in the abdomen of the victimized rebel. He threw the corpse aside, and darkly shouldered passed the two humans, barely even acknowledging that one was at the rim between consciousness and dark dreams. His camouflage engaged again as he made his way out of a gaping hole in the building, the four other Sangheili following him. The last in line looked back to the humans and uttered,"You are fortunate B'kar chose to intervene. He rarely becomes involved in the meddling of humans, allied or not."Without awaiting a response or offering to help the soldier, the Sangheili followed the squad and hopped down the hole.IC: [spartan D-07, Aaron]One of the Pelicans sailed low from the overhead battle in the air, where various attack craft attempted to incapacitate the Corvette overhead, many being met with grim fates as they were forced into dog fights with Seraph and Banshee fighters, alongside the odd and outdated Hornet craft that bore the rebel insignia. The Pelican hovered low where Cassandra and any Spartans gathered with her happened to be. The back hatch slowly opened, and at the edge stood a fellow Spartan, head-to-toe in the customary olive-green armor. He bore CQB-classed MJOLNIR armor, and was loosely holding a grenade launcher in one hand. In front of his visor his two forefingers formed the infamous Spartan 'smile', and he extended an arm to Cassandra."Welcome to New Venice, Spartans! Looking at your tags, I don't think I've seen any of you since Delta's augmentations ended! Chat's for later, though. We have a mission, and we're wanting every Spartan present for it. You game?"The Spartan showed up on their HUDs as Aaron-D07, and his rank was that of a Gunnery Sergeant.IC: [battle of New Venice - The building with Rachel and Allan]The stifled cry of a Grunt was heard up the stairs, and illuminated blood spattered onto the wall just visible from the Lobby. A shrill squak was heard, then the pitter-patter of footsteps fleeing farther into the recesses of the building.

IC: Zarana Fehra Veru & Kaldera Fehra Selre | Battle of New Venice | Flatbed 'hogWhen it came to war, Hunters are the experts at fire-and-forget. Fuel-rod guns and forms of the Needler were pretty close to one-hit kills, and the Assault Cannons were beefed-up versions of the Fuel Rod.The moment the driver pulled them into a clear line of sight, Zarana and Kaldera fired one shot each from their cannons, already anticipating the fireball that would follow.-Inferna

IC: (D-052, Lance Corporal Cassandra)"Thank you sir." She replied as she got pulled into the Pelican. She replaced her current clip with a new one as she sat down on the seat, thinking about what the current mission they had been given would be. If this was normal offensive she might have joked, but innocents had been attacked and superiors had been put in harm's way. She could joke later, but now she needed to be serious.

IC: [Vume Chavamai]Vume's eyes narrowed at the insult, but he let it pass. Humans made good cover if worst came to worst. He looked at the grav lift, "Agreed, we should move to help the rangers. We could use more real warriors on the field of battle."

I want you to hit me as hard as you can.

Something on your mind, Dear?

Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!

- Insurrectionist Cain: Cavalier Diner -

"Figures," Cain mumbled to himself, not the most pleased to go speaking to marines. However, Cain felt comfortable enough and chose to put on a more serious facade, doubting that any sort of happiness would go over well with marines here -- or even civilians for that matter. Quietly he walked up to the marines, acting as if slightly nervous of them, as roughly the majority of those his age would be -- especially when considering the circumstances. "Hello... good, uh, sirs," Cain spoke, throwing a thumb towards the backroom, "I'd rather not disturb you from your uh... um, whatever it is you guys are doing, but the managers would like to speak with you. I'm not sure what it's about but... well, that's the whole of the message," Cain shrugged his shoulders slightly, keeping his eyes trained on the faces of the marines, for he doubted that these armed, trained and armored individuals would take kindly to anything more.IC:

- Ssgt. Leliel Harvenheight: Vale -

Hurry it up you stupid transport, Leliel felt herself thinking bitterly. The vehicle seemed sluggish to her, and sluggish vehicles often lasted not too long when the enemy sported some fine weaponry. Hopefully, though, there weren't many with rockets lying in wait and that some ODST, or even SPARTAN, team had been able to eradicate the harshest fires of the threat.
