IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn climbed aboard, holstering his Plasma Rifle. He remembered Aaron, back in training, he was one of the more notable Spartans. He gave Aaron a thumbs up and said softly, "Good to see you, Sergeant." Shawn wrung his wrists and exhaled. He waited to see if any of the other Spartans would break the silence and inquire about their new orders.IC (Pvt. Serrox and Shor' Talas):"Well thanks anyway," Will said as the last Elite departed. Jeez louise, and I thought the ODSTs were pricks, still, those guys saved my life, guess I owe them a soda or something.Serrox lifted Mike in a fireman's hold and headed for the nearby Medic Outpost, hoping to encounter help along the way. His wishes were met at the 3rd building down the block, where he ran into an Elite with singed armor, who saved them from an ambushing Innie Kig-Yar. It's cranium was currently replaced by pink shards."Stay close, human." Talas still held a general dislike for humans and their ideals, but he knew he was not above them in terms of morals.IC (Sgt. Seah) [Willy and Vume's position]:"Watch it, Sangheili, we are on the same side here," the ODST said. He knew the Elite warrior could take it, but the green Marines would surely react strongly at being told they were wrong as well. And right now, a group of arguing Privates was the last thing anyone needed. He cradled his DMR and made the jump first. John hit the concrete and moved to a vent, placing his back against it. "Roof is clear, move up!"

IC:Allan heard the abrupt squwak and footsteps as he went ascended the stairway with the squad."Yang, make sure you have that M90 at the ready. Same goes for you Cass. Who knows what kind of access these guys have to maintenance shafts."As soon as the reached the first floor, a skirmisher leapt out from behind cover to attack Yang. Of course, it was completely negligent of the fact he was holding a shotgun and had a rather large hole in its chest almost as soon as it was in sight.A jackal was also down the hall, but Allan made quick work of it with a single, rapid burst of fire, straight to the head. It never managed to get off a round that wasn't due to the stiffening of its digits after death. Such rounds went directly into the ground."Nice work Private," Allan told Yang. "Cass, you're up front now."

Pvt. Willy IC (Concrete Rooftop with Sgt. Seah) :"Heading up, Sarge." Willy held his shotgun with a tighter grip, and got on the gravity lift. He landed on the rooftop a little hard, but got back up. He ran towards the other vent, and peered over.

IC: [Vume Chavamai]Vume took the lift, landed, and rolled gracefully to his feet. His wounds screamed in protest, but Vume ignored them, wounds were to be dealt with after the battle. He looked at the human Sergeant, "The same side perhaps, but that does not mean we are equals. I commend your race for your tenacity, but it is undeniable that you are a weak species. "He held up his hand to stave off protest, "I do not mean this as an insult, but as a simple fact that must be taken into consideration if we are to operate together effectively." He looked over to the ranger's they were heading towards, "In a simple objective analysis, their lives are worth more than those marines."

OOC: Vak, Shawn and Cassandra are on the Pelican with Aaron. As for the other Spartans, I am not too sure myself.IC (Sgt. Seah):John felt an underlying anger at the fact that Vume took lives as having different value, but knew it was kind of true, if looked at from a strategic perspective. He nodded in response to Vume, then replied, "Would you like to proceed first, seeing as you have shielding which would provide you more room for error?"John quickly added, "An objective analysis." He then moved to the same pace as Vume. This was a suggestion, and a quiet comeback, but John meant what he said. Even so, he is not one to hie by another, so he moved by Vume's side."Pvt Willy, stay by me four o'clock, watch for my blindside. Rest of you, form up by Vume's four and six."

IC (Sgt. Seah):"I am glad to have a reasonable warrior with me," the ODST replied and leveled his DMR to aim at the back of an Innie Elite's skull. He readied his trigger finger to give the quick spasms it required to take him out.

IC (Sgt. Seah):"Good, remember to look for any pieces of cover, we're gonna have another firefight on our hands..." John trailed off as Vume made a target of himself and attacked the enemy group. John quickly squeezed the DMR trigger with rapid finger spasms. He got the Innie's shields to flare, then fired another 3 shots to finish him off, ducking behind a vent to reload.

OOC: Actually Stony, put Terra with the other Spartans (Look at the posts on the top of this page for an explanation, or find my post with the Spartans). It's more convenient and that way you aren't roflporting over to Vale's position. Also, there aren't any Rangers by Vale for future reference :PIC: [battle of New Venice - Rangers on the Rooftops]The Insurrectionist Sangheili growled in defiance and turned their glowing, plasma-charged weapons on the newcomers. Already one went down from the flanking attack, leaving the others enraged at their opponent's trickery. Two of the Insurrectionists moved in front of their comrades and kneeled with one arm forward, a shield gauntlet activating on each and providing further protection for their hosts. Behind them, two more lobbed Plasma grenades- One was aimed at Seah, the other at Vume..

IC: [Mike Pvt. 1st, Unconscience, Medstation]Mike knew something was wrong. He felt the heat of plasma, and heard a large explosion. The explosion barely knocked his senses around, but it did enough to make him murmur a bit. He felt himself being dragged, and then carried. HE didn't know how, but he knew he was on his way to a med station. Mike shifted a bit, and resumed his semi-conscience state.

IC (Sgt. Seah):"Danggit," John saw the blue sphere if destruction on a trajectory that would collide with his head. He dropped his DMR and rolled over, clear of the grenade, but in one of the Elites' line of sight."Marines, provide covering fire for Vume!" John felt a searing heat of a Plasma Repeater shot as it impacted his shoulder pad. He quickly pulled the pin o a frag and lobbed it over one Elite with a shield gauntlet.

OOC : I think you... Uh, was Kiro that one Jackal sniper or a human/Elite?Willy IC (Taking fire with Seah and Vume) : He looked over the barracade as the grenade dropped by him. A momentary panic and he flew as far to the right as he could without flying off the roof, getting in the sight of the Insurrectionist Elites. Time seemed to slow down for him as he rolled, and then noticed as he got shot at. He recovered, and fired a few shots off, all of them hitting something, but not a one hit an Elite.

IC: [Vume Chavamai]Vume rolled to the side as the graceful arc of the plasma grenade soared lazily towards him. The movement was incredibly painful, his still fresh wounds sending waves of pain through his body, but he ignored it and grabbed at one of the incendiary grenades at his side. The grenade was a crude Jiralhanae creation, large and cumbersome, but Vume enjoyed their use. They were primitive, to be sure, but fire was a powerful psychological weapon, watching an ally go up in flames was a better morale killer than anything else. He threw the grenade at the largest target available, which was the closest Sangheili wielding an energy Gauntlet. Even if the grenade missed its intended target, the fire would force them to break formation, giving the humans easier targets.

IC- Rex and Mato: The two found their way to the contingent of Spartans remaining on the ground. Other than a few scratches, and his body glove ripped by a needle, he was fine. Mato, however, was bleeding. He was the closest thing to a berserker Rex knew. Mato didn't care if he was injured, he cared only in gaining greater standing amongst his family, whom he knew called him Ripa's Heir. And Rex knew that Mato's honor would not permit him to see a doctor. The Elite would take some antibiotics and pain pills, but that was the extent of his treatment.

Thomas Hunter- AA GunIC: For the most part the area around the Anti-Air Gun had been rather quiet, only the occasional Innie Human or Elite wandering over, trying to find out why the gun had stopped shooting. They were dealt with by a couple of shots from one or another of the snipers that the squad had in the area. That would only last so long though.OOC: Murphy? Who's that? :nahnah: Yes I know I'm asking for it.

OoC: A beforehand warning: Sona refers to himself as "we" or "us", labelling the entire Lekgolo colony in his body. I will be using that form of writing while referring to them.IC- Sona Waka Klatu: The green-armored Hunter examined the battlefield as their kind usually did; slowly, drinking in the details like a fine, expensive champagne. They had missed the battle. How many lives could we have saved? they wonder. It wasn't often the Mgalekgolo missed a battle or skirmish. And they hated themselves for every life lost.

OOC: Okay, tripley-sincere apology: Didn't get around to posting when I'd intended to, and yesterday I only had an hour time-frame where I could have been on BZP between school and a wedding I was working at :P Unfortunately, the site chose to be down during that timeframe...{This IC should definitely have the Great Journey soundtrack playing in the background :P)IC: [battle of New Venice - Innie Convoy/Hunter Pair]The vehicle went up in a fiery plume just as the gauss cannon fired. It screeched, tumbled, and rolled out of the way, colliding into a UNSC kiosk. However, the vehicle had managed a shot off in the moment of impact- The powerful shockwave of the missed shot was still enough to make the Warthog lose control momentarily, the Scottsman driver cursing as he attempted to readjust and get on track.Somewhere in the back, he vaguely heard, "They've got spike grenades!" The next thing he knew, one soared overhead, a blur at the speed he was going. An Innie in a warthog up front sneered and fired off a few lazy rounds with their pistol. While the bullets pinged harmlessly off the armored hull of the flatbed 'Hog, the spike grenade slammed home onto the shield of one of the Hunters- indistinguishable to the driver. Knowing there was only a split second before it'd detonate, he had slammed the pedal down and the warthog's speed spiked as it came up side-by-side with the enemy vehicle bearing the exposed Innies.Unfortunately, the man didn't have time to express his plan, but merely hoped the Hunter who had taken the grenade to its shield would understand and point the shield towards the opposition...IC: [spartan D-07, Aaron]As Rex boarded the Pelican, Aaron held up a hand. "Sorry, but the Elite can't come. This is a Spartan-Op." The Pelican shifted slightly to the left, providing a bit more cover for those still not in the Pelican, Mato included. While he waited for Rex's acknowledgement, Aaron accessed the Battle Net to figure out where the Elite could go and make itself useful. Aaron had a knack for finding things out, and indulging in his curiousities- a weakness some may say, but his inquisitive nature had made him a valuable team leader and decision maker.Aaron had, in his Spartan-training, put together the pieces on what his family had done before he was an orphan. A near-impossible feat while several star systems away from where you were born, some might think; Aaron still managed to figure out his father had been a burly UNSC marine that had participated in both Battles of Earth, inflicting near-legendary casualties by regular human standards. After ONI operatives involved in the training had caught on to his antics, they made him a team leader to his own squad and, eventually, one of the highest ranked Spartan-IIIs to date.IC: [Marines - Cavalier Diner]The three nodded gratefully as the man in charge closed the door behind them. The second man, lesser in both rank and the way he carried himself, tore his helmet off to reveal a small gash on his head where blood slowly trickled down. The first man teased his squad mate. "And that's why you'll never be an ODST- Going headfirst generally isn't advised!"The two exchanged subtle jives, with some of the patrons glaring at them. They didn't quite seem to notice, but kept an eye on the two doorways- just in case. The girl, however, spoke with Cain. She was fairly young my service standards- About twenty-two. Her short, dark and smooth brown hair was matted down by set and what appeared to be a bit of purple blood. She had a much more serious manner than the two men that accompanied her, and seemed to be objective-minded."Could you take us there, please? It'd be more convenient than blindly fumbling through all these people."IC: [Commander Vale]The vehicle seemed to pick up speed as it neared, and in no time was up beside the Medical kiosk. Vale hopped in while a squad of five Unggoy and a Sangheili Minor hopped off. The Commander nodded as two other squads of Marines- Both in dress uniform and obviously New Venice regulars- arrived with several members of his bridge crew in tow."Sorry sir, one of them didn't make it! The Jackals got to him!"The Commander sighed, trying to banish whatever thoughts appeared to him of how the Jackals may have disposed of them. With most of his crew now on, he turned to his own two-man escort: Leliel and the private. "Alright you two, come with us or go help clean out the town! It's your choice, as the majority of the ship crew is apparantly already on-board the Plataea and waiting for us. They've got marine security onsite as well, so don't worry about our safety."IC: [The Medical Outpost - Pvt Serrox and Mike's position]The Outpost shook violently as another rocket impacted, dust showering the inhabitants. Workers and medical officers attempted to shield the wounds of the injured as best they could. One of the medical officers stood up after this and screamed out, "Can't they show a bit of honor and just leave us alone!? ****-it, I'm taking care of this myself!"He shoved passed a doctor who attempted to stop him and yanked a frag off of Private Serrox's belt, flying out the doors and pulling the pin, hefting the grenade to the building across. The grenade actuallly managed to crash through a window, and an explosion of dust shot out from the window. Whether there were victims or not, nobody could tell. However, before he could even react, the medical officer was filled with four different Needle Rifle rounds, a deadly supercombine ensuing. Red gore spattered across the windows of the store that had been turned into a medical outpost, many grimacing and some beginning to cry out or vomit.IC: [battle of New Venice - Allan Myle's position]Without warning, a familiar gunmetal-brown grenade of human origin crashed through the window, landing at Myle's feet. In the same instance, two grunts who were frightened by the Insurrectionist attack came screaming down the stairs, one straight towards Myles in a frantic frenzy.IC: [Vume/Seah/Willie's position]One of the Marines, thinking they'd be a hero, scooped to pick up one of the plasma grenades to throw back to the enemy. Unfortunately he had forgotten the sticky side effects of such grenades, and found himself panicking as it detonated in hand.On the flipside, the incendiary impacted on one of the shield gauntlets, the burning wrath of the contents overloading the plasma gauntlet and causing the Insurrectionist Sangheili holding it to clack his mandibles in frustration as he threw back his arm, leaving his comrades as well as himself exposed.IC: [battle of New Venice - AA Turret]Suddenly, the COMM belched to life. "This is Fireteam Charlie-Red. We're behind some busses rolled onto their sides. Permission to enter the area? Area clear?"

IC: [Mike King, Pvt 1st, Med outpost]Mike heard more explosions, and for once, one jarred him closer to consciensness. He tried opening his eyes, but the air was choked with dirt, so it was hard to accomplish. He grunted, and tried moving his arms. They moved, but barely. It was hard to breathe with the dust and his damaged windpipe, but he got some oxygen. He propped himself up on his elbow, and then the Needler shots hit the medical officer. Mike stared in horror, and nearly fell unconscience once more. Gotta keep it together, gotta keep it together... Mike thought to himself. He nudged his legs, and tried getting out of the cot he was on. The worker supervising him said "Sit down, lie down. You're hurt. Try to conserve as much energy as possibe..." Mike stared at the worker, and got out a raspy "I don't care. I'm out." And with htat, Mike stood on very shaky legs, and stumbled out of the med station, hoising his M45 and Sniper on the way out. He was going to either go out and kill some Innies, or die trying.

IC: [Medical Outpost]The caretaker of Mike stood up and followed him out, insisting that he stay inside. "It's not safe out there! We're pinned down by needle fire and the Insurrectionists have explosive ordinance! I demand that you get back in here!"The building roiled again as an artillery shot rang out nearby- A UNSC Cobra was continually barraging enemy positions. Smoke trailed from the barrels, the vehicle seemingly exhausting ammunition to the point of running out. The doctor stood by Mike, and was about to tug at his arm when a shadow eclipsed the Cobra. Somewhere, a frightened voice was heard. "The ship's above us! They're gonna glass us all!"IC: [Charlie-Red]"Aye, Charlie-Red out."From the west side of the AA Turret's site, a team of UNSC Marines moved in single file. The one second-to-front gave several hand motions, the last of which directed a team of three to head directly to the turret while the others double-checked to ensure the area was clear."ODSTs cleaned up good," one remarked on his COMM.

IC: Lance Corporal Jason Hemming (two blocks from Medical Outpost)Jason barely registered the needle round missing his helmet as he glanced over the wrecked car. The haze from the fire slightly blurred his vision but from what he could see, there wasn't anyone in the streets. Still, the snipers holed up on the roofs and in buildings were going to prove to be a problem. "How's it looking up there?""No good. We'll get turned to pink mist the moment we step foot in the street," Jason replied, "We're going to have to keep taking the alleys.""If we cross the street, we can take those alleys as a shortcut to the Medical Outpost.""Sounds like a plan." Jason briefly switched on his VISR, scanning the windows for any red outlines. "I'm seeing four visible hostiles in the buildings," he said in to his comm., "We'll need to lay down some fire to get the civilians across." A pair of Marines carrying assault rifles soon appeared at his position as he readied his M7S. He quietly counted down on his fingers before standing up and spraying fire towards where he had seen the red while the Marines did the same with their assault rifles. Behind them, another two Marines lead a small group of civilians across the street, occassionaly taking shots as well."Alright, we're clear! Get over here!" The three sprinted from their cover and in to the alleyway, with needles and carbine rounds streaking past them. Once they were sure that everyone was in one piece, they quietly made their way through the alleys towards where the Medical Outpost was located. It was about this time that Jason glanced up and noticed the enemy ship and the sound of rocket fire reached his ears. When he didn't see any rockets going up, he began to grow concerned and opened up a radio link to Rachel."Hey Cass, how far along are you in getting that rocket nest taken out?""We're clearing the first floor now. We ran in to some Jackals and Skirmishers in here, but we haven't had too much trouble yet." It was about this time that they reached an opening in the alleyway and he saw that his suspicions were correct."Well, you may want to hurry up," Jason said, "There's a hostile ship right over the Medical Outpost and I don't think the guys in there want to stay in there for long. They're getting taking some pretty heavy fire right now and probably can't go anywhere 'til it's taken care of.""That's not too far from where we are," Rachel replied thoughtfullyl, "Alright, we'll get this done as soon as we can and see what we can do. Stay safe out there."--------------IC: Staff Sergean Rachel Cass (Apartment building)"Hey, Myles," Rachel spoke up after cutting off her connection with Jason, "Let's step this up. I just got a message from one of my guys out on the street that the Medical Outpost is getting hit pretty hard. We'd better hurry up and take out that rocket nest above us."

IC (ODST Sgt. Seah):"****! You stupidhead, why did you-argh!" John lamented the stupid Marine, then lobbed another frag over the second functioning Elite's arm shield. He peeked out over cover to fire a few shots at the Elite whose shields he had weakened earlier. Now John succeeded in putting its shields down, but could only blindfire a few shots in its general direction before ducking back to avoid the volley of plasma fire that followed. He noted Pvt. Willy had done the same, and he could only hope they will not have anymore casualties. Even if this weren't a squad of ODSTs, John was still technically outranking them, that meant he was responsible to some extent.IC (Marine Pvt. Serrox):"Ooh, that had to hurt." Will muttered as the med officer exploded."Hey, dumb****, sit down and let the doc look at ya!" Will shouted at Mike. "Also, a thank you would suffice," Serrox pulled down his balaclava and spat on the ground. This just proves his point about ODSTs being annoyances in general all too well. He heard the doc screaming about a ship overhead, and decided to peek out of the window and get a glimpse with his Sniper Rifle."Ah...crud!"First a crazy ODST, then me almost getting killed to save him, hauling him all the way here and now this? Will heard the Elite who escorted them laughing, and to be honest, this crazybutt ODST did look like something overly melodramatic.IC (Shor' Talas): Shor had to laugh at the antics of the human soldiers in the Medical Outpost. Whether or not the "ODST" wanted to get killed was none of his concern. The only thing on his mind right now was whether the hysterical doctor was right about a ship trying to glass them, if this were the case, he'd have all Sangheili evacuated immediately. He looked through his Needle Rifle sights to confirm his suspicions.IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn glanced up to look at the new Spartans, gave the slightest nod of acknowledgement, and returned to his own musings.
