Quick question: Can the new Kraata infect masks, and if so, can they mind-control the infected mask's wearer? And can the Rahkshi be psychically commanded by Makuta?

Yes they can, yes thats what would happen and no. Kind of wish you hadn't figured that first bit out actually, was planning on making it a small plot later down the line

 

 

I remember seeing a couple of fights where characters have ignored attacks from Rahks with similar powers - like Snake-Face-Kid being magically unaffected by Phogen's sonic attacks because he was Power Scream.

 

We know from Bionicle canon that Rahkshi are vulnerable to, and can indeed be killed by, their own powers. Unless that's different here, I'd like to see everyone playing fairly from now on.

See, I would have acted on that except Phogen's inner monologue specifically stated that s/he wouldn't be affected by their sonic scream because their inherent link with sound kept them safe. Well Snake-Face also has an inherent link with sound, sure its in a more specialised fashion but it happens to be the fashion sound just got used in. Logically if Phogen was safe from the attack then by the same token Snake-Face would be.

Besides, if it affected everyone then it would have been a massive group autohit, which is kind of even more godmoddy

 

 

Yeah, it seems like Chekquar's shadows were ignored for the most part, though I suppose Rahkshi can see well in darkness. I always pictured elemental shadow as more of a black mist that's near impossible to see through, but Omega and Hashan found Chekquars just fine.

Yeah, technically capital-letter-Darkness as created by that kind of Rahkshi or a Makuta should be largely visually impenetrable to everyone (see the intro where the Makuta remains hidden). But haven't most people attacking Chekquars been aiming for the black cloud and hoping they hit something (knowing there's at least one Rahkshi in there somewhere) and not seeing through it to the Rahkshi inside? I'm sure I saw Hashan say thats what he was doing at least...

Yeah, I stated he was "chasing the moving black cloud", seeing as how level 2 Darkness Rahk's can only shroud a certain area, and as Chekquars is running away while still using his power, the cloud should be moving with him.

Also, do the powers work like Toa powers? Such as if you use them for too long you tire out?

Technically yes. But its not down to using up your elemental energy, just plain old fatigue. Using your powers expends energy just like everything else. But since Rahkshi have crazy endurance its not something you're going to have to worry about unless you're really pushing yourself, like Phogen's siren just now

Nah, that feels too much railroading to me. You guys realise you can go round infecting people into doing your bidding then I shouldn't stop you just because I had vague ideas for that concept later on. Heck, if any of you actually wanted to start minionising the Matoran I can probably just work it into what I had in mind anyway. I would however prefer to do things via PM rather than have any of you just go turn the whole island into your personal army, just fyi

Well, honestly your answer wasn't what I'd expected. I'd assumed that infecting a mask would leave the wearer vulnerable to control by a Makuta, not by the Rahkshi.

In all likelihood any Matoran that got infected by your characters would likely by swayed by the influence of the Makuta who spawned your particular kraata. But unless that Makuta is Tridax then they're going to be far away and unaware that they've got a new thrall. So the next in the chain of command would be the kraata that caused the infection. The fully sapient and capable of giving commands kraata.
