If the Jaeger pilot turned around, he would find a Matoran, clothed in silvered armour, a jacket of royal blue- with the Mask of Creation emblazoned on the shoulder- a pair of aviator sunglasses, and knee-high pirate boots dyed in a matching colour to the jacket, standing on a pile of rubble nearby, eyes obscured entirely by the glasses. Wyrd Bid Ful Araed Posted July 11, 2015 Share Posted July 11, 2015 IC: Again the King ran into the problem of Glaceras' head being mostly under the water, boggling eyes peering through the waves to the target above it. What the sword was driving through was mostly the kaiju's icy shell, a glacier worn around its body as both armour and weapon. Gouts of steam blossomed in the air only for the chill of Glaceras' skin to freeze in back into a layer of rime and frost around the King, blinding up its eyes and sensors.Seeing the other kaiju retreating, Glaceras decided the time had come to fall back. He was not one to attack a target like Xia without backup. He started swimming back, heading into deeper waters. The jaeger attempting to attack him would find it harder and harder to actually fight, or even stand, as water overtook land. The bipedal juggernauts weren't too good at floating. Nevertheless he was keeping a couple of his four eyes on the King, just in case. Lightstones attached to the walls cast the building's interior- which appeared to be made of a single, smooth piece of dull, uninspiring granite- in an amber glow, attaching a warm homeliness to it quite unlike the stark tone of the meeting. Arkie marched over to the single table in the room, at which Inikhi was already seated, the lightstone glows reflecing in his armour as he sat there, trance-like. The Ko-Matoran placed the helmet which she usually wore over her Kanohi in order to allow her to pilot the Jatikko on her own on the table, the protosteel helm prompting an echo throughout the chamber.Her armour bore a small tear near her left hip, a memoir of the recent battle with the Kaiju on Xia, which, although one that Arkie had not been able to fully immerse herself in, had nonetheless been as tough as, if not tougher than, the vast majority of solo Kaiju attacks in the past. For a few minutes, silence reigned in the room placed strategically as a bunker inside one of Zakaz's few non-coastal upland areas as Matoran and Skakdi alike waited for Vofosu to appear.Another few. Then finally, Inikhi broke the silence."I heard you saw the Alpha." Arkie, staring at the table still, replied with a flat, utilitarian "We did." "Any size estimates?" "They said it's at least Cat 5. We couldn't get any solid readings on it." "Same blockages like when we try to measure it underwater?" "Indeed." The leader of Zakaz nodded thoughtfully."Damage reports?" Arkie sighed. "Xia's on its knees. It won't be getting up in a while," she began. "Way, way too much infrastructure got destroyed. Even if they've got what they need to recover, the Xians might not be able to get it anywhere quick enough."She shrugged helplessly. Inikhi frowned. Then they both continued waiting for Vofosu. Meanwhile, Dessimuss was shown to a well furnished room, with a comfortable bed, and a plate of food. The matoran escorting him smiled, "They think of everything here." The carpathian, on his part, let his smile fall away as Dessimus left. He'd planted the seeds, all that was needed now was to let them grow. He pressed an intercom button. "Send the boys to Xia, I think they'll need the support in the coming days. Oh, and set up for the city expedition. There's valuable resources in there, maybe we can use some of the old Jaegers to keep the current forces fresh." He released the button, and rubbed the bridge of his mask wearily. Timageness Posted July 14, 2015 Share Posted July 14, 2015 IC: Phantom - XiaThe second net brushed up against one of her tentacles as it otherwise sailed past her, delivering an electric shock that would've easily taken a Kaiju with less focus and determination right out of the air as she momentarily stuggled to stay aloft. With the Alpha gone and her hunger temporarily satisfied, Phantom saw no real reason to press on with her attack, especially since she was currently outside of her own territory and the odds were no longer in her favor.With her mind made up, she continued to retreat towards the shoreline, chalking up the unconcious Kaiju the two mechanical creatures were already attempting to drag away as just another casualty in the ongoing battle between beast and machine. He exploded up out of the water, soaring skywards and beginning to circle high over the location of the Breach, relishing in the sense of empowerment he got from being so high above everything. The Alpha might rule the hive, but Darken ruled the skies. You might not've killed it, but you well scared it off and saved a #####-ton of people." He fumbled inside his coat for something. "Anyway, who knows? The Alpha might be more useful alive." The Matoran produced a business card. Both sides were edged in a blue the same colour as the Matoran's jacket, and the card bore a watermark of the Mask of Creation. "Call this if you want to be part of something bigger," the messenger from Artahka said with a dazzling smile, holding it out to Oblitus, evidently as an invitation to take it. The populace already execrated the beasts to the point of madness and desperation, what would they do without entertainment? Green eyes followed a certain figure through the smoky darkness of the establishment, malachite orbs designed and tailored towards use in just such an umbral environment. It was a shame the mines nowadays were great gaping pits instead of the comfortable tunnels of yore. The Vengeance stowed away safely inside the Shatterdome, and the immediate danger seemingly over for now, Emalia decided to head home - a modest apartment in one of the towers closer to the city heart. Short of climbing the Mountain itself, it was pretty much the furthest she could get from the sea - and the kaiju that lurked beneath its surface. Whistling softly, she started down the street, mingling with the crowds. He knew the location of its shatterdome, and had estimated the range of whatever system it was they used to detect incoming kaiju. So he stayed just outside that range as he flew a long circle around the island, until he was on the furthest side of the landmass, as far from the shatterdome as he could get. Only then did he descend, plummeting down towards an isolated fishing village...
