IC: Ze'Taki (Hallways->Training Room 77)

The Shi'ido waited until all three Jedi passed, and then moved onwards. Only 18 minutes left to get to 77, after all.

Exactly 15 minutes later, with three minutes to spare, Ze'Taki pushed open the door to Training Room 77, not entirely sure as to what she would find.

"Hello? Anyone here?"

IC (Falleen Jedi):As Ze'Taki pushed open the door, she came upon a tall, lean Falleen male, clad in the brown robes of the Jedi. He had sharp cheekbones, carefully plucked eyebrows that tapered to sharp, upraised points, and a meticulously groomed goatee and moustache. The reptilian turned to face the Shi'ido apprentice, his long black ponytail streaming in the wind.A simple, cylindrical lightsaber was held loosely in his hand, and the Jedi was standing over the smoking remains of a training droid. "Who are you?"

IC (Captain Tremaine):"Get me an ID of that ship. And take out its hyperdrive. Where the heII are my fighters!?" Tremaine stared in disbelief as the smaller ship continued to trade fire with the Arquitens. Though the military vessel's quad-laser cannons had a slightly larger caliber than the Gozanti cruiser, the Edge somehow managed to use its four cannons to pelt at the Lance's shields. At its rate of fire, it was a miracle that the pirate vessel's guns hadn't overheated.

A clone gunner's voice rang over the comms. "Sir, we can't pinpoint its hyperdrive with the quad-lasers. Not with our targeting gone."

The cruiser shuddered slightly as the concentrated bursts of fire from the Gozanti's quad-lasers punched through a weak point in the shields, the spot furthest from the shield generator. The military vessel's hull could take it, and the damage could be repaired later. For now, they had to find a way to bring the ship's other weapons into play.

A clone computer operator jogged up on the bridge, a tablet and holoscreen in his hand. "Captain Tremaine, we have an ID on the ship. The Knife's Edge. Purchased second-hand from a small shipping company off of some backwater world. Documentation says it is owned by one Helor Tuorri. A Kobok from Koboth. I ran a few searches of his name. Small fry crook. Minor bounties from the Hutts, Black Sun, and Zann. 3500 credits on his head in total. The ship was recently seen fleeing after blowing up two LAATs and an office building."Tremaine touched his chin in contemplation, running his hand across his smoothly shaven skin, only to be slightly annoyed by a hair his razor had missed. "Relay the information to Coruscant security, the Proppies, and the news. They'll want to have a scoop on the terrorist scum responsible." The trooper nodded dutifully and sent off the information with a series of quick swipes and pushes of buttons. Tremaine smiled viciously. "Now what's the ETA on my dagomm fight-"

The bridge shuddered as the proton torpedoes flew at the Lance. The first slammed into the shields, the explosion temporarily overloading the Arquitens' protection. The second followed closely in its wake, impacting the area between the ventral dorsal quad-lasers, and burrowing into the ship's hull, before exploding in a blast that gutted the Lance's hull. The explosion opened the escort cruiser like a can of preserved bluefish, leaving its crew vulnerable to the cold claws of the void.

IC: Ze'Taki (Training Room 77)

She looked up at the Falleen, calmly speaking and meeting his eyes while doing so.

"I am Ze'Taki, sir. Master Yttro sent me here to participate in a session where older younglings would show their skills in hopes of becoming Padawans.. Was I mistaken? Is the session not in Training Room 77?"

She looks slightly confused by the end. She wasn't really early, so why would this Jedi be the on one here?

IC-Kaal:

"I'm not surprised it's taking you so long to remember," the Bouncer replied. "They don't often teach about Ruusan to any but the Temple Histori--Ooh, they've got Ramorean capanata up today. With icefish, and...rolls with wintenberry jelly. Yum." Completely forgetting about the earlier discussion, the Bouncer quickly pulled himself along, a couple plates and some utensils beginning to float along just in front of the fuzzball.

OOC: I feel such warm fuzzies when I read Kaal ICs.

IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen looked at the smoking training droid. "Ah, Ze'Taki well, this room did not seem to have any apparently booking, so I slipped in to train with the droid. I was wondering why its setting was so low." He glanced up a smaller camera-droid, which was floating via a repulsor. "I fear I may have ruined your test. My most sincere apologies, youngling."The tall Jedi looked down at her. "My name is Vendax Raxoriz. Is there any way I can repay you for the inconvenience?"

IC(Helor Tuorri, Doing a victory dance in his mind):

With the Lance dead in the sky, and minor shrapnel damage to the hull of the Edge, the motions required to put the ship on a direct course away from Coruscant were almost automatic, which was good, because Helor Tuorri was much too busy cheering his own luck and skill at managing to take on and beat down a Republic naval ship right over Coruscant. After less than a minute, though, he calmed down, and, for the first time since breaking atmo, turned to look at the Chiss seated behind him and to his left.

"And you wanted to use the escape pods. Hop in the escape pods, hide in the undercity with not much more than a blaster, and let the kriffin' Jedi have my ship." The pirate stopped for a second, letting the reminder of the awful idea sink in.

"I am a pirate piloting a ship that was designed with crippled sublight engines. I also happen to still be alive and 'committing acts of piracy.' And you thought a freighter, a fighter, and some speeders were reason enough to jump ship."

IC (Coruscant):

The Lance was burning, internal explosions rocking the vessel. A larger explosion occurred, visible from the surface, as the light cruiser's payload of assault concussion missiles went off, scattering bits of the Arquitens about like autumn leaves in the wind.

IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen smiled, then laughed. "You are good with a lightsaber, are you, Ze'Taki? What forms do you specialize in?" He smiled and clipped his lightsaber back onto his belt. "I'm a Knight. I might be willing to give you a less formal test."

OOC:  I just went back to 'Taki's profile to check which lightsaber forms she used and discovered that apparently she was originally named Ze'Tika, and halfway through the profile it changed to Ze'Taki and stayed that way onwards.

Weird how no-one noticed that until now. :P

Anyway changed it fully over to Ze'Taki so yeah

IC: Ze'Taki (Room 77)

"As far as I've seen, I am, although the only comparisons I've made recently have been against younger younglings, with the only critique coming from a few monitors, who most likely don't see lightsber duals all that often.."

She shrugs before continuing.

"Personally, I mainly focus on Shien, but to counter the loss of single-oppenent tactics I utilize both dual-phasing my saber as well as Tràkata techinquies.. Some would perhaps call it too deceptive for a Jedi, but I guess deception is just a part of my nature.."

Ze'Taki brings a hand up and studies it as it changes from a normal human hand to just a block of flesh, and then onto reptillian, feline, and tentacled hands before returning to human.

"Being a Shi'ido and all."

She glances up from her hand and smiles gently at the Jedi Knight standing across from her, speaking once more.

"Less formal would be welcome, Knight Raxoriz."

IC (Falleen Jedi): "Ah, you're a Shi'ido. How excellent. The Force gives us different gifts. I, for instance, have been blessed with an aptitude for mind tricks. Falleen pheromones and whatnot." The Jedi nodded and touched his goatee for a moment, as if in thought, and waved away the cameradroid. It whirred out the door.

"Well, truth be told, Ze'Taki, most of the opponents you face in the field will not be lightsaber wielders." The immaculately groomed Falleen withdrew his hands into the folds of his cloak. "Most of the time, whether infiltrating the underbelly of Coruscant, investigating the streets of Nar Shaddaa, or fighting against the Separatists on some far-flung world-"He drew forth two DL-44 blasters, and began to fiddle with nobs on each pistol. "You're gonna end up going against an opponents armed with ranged weapons, like blasters. Blasters are used by droids, bounty hunters, CIS soldiers, criminals, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. So-" He spun the blaster pistols in his hands. "In the right hands, their lethal potential is even greater than a lightsaber. Even an ancient weapon like a lightsaber can end up being useless against an opponent with a keen eye and a good blaster at his side. I'm glad to hear you've focused on Form V's classical variant.""These are customized DL-44 heavy blaster pistols. Gorgeous weapons, highly accurate, and with a standard magazine of 50 shots each." Raxoriz hefted the two heavy blaster pistols. "I've lowered the power setting, so they'll only sting a little if you aren't able to block them. Like this."The Falleen fired a single shot at Ze'Taki. If she was worth any salt, she'd be able to get her lightsaber out and deflect the bolt.

IC: Jaceren

Jaceren nodded at Anshar's words. "Then it would be best to stay together and be on high alert for any movement." he said as he turned to examine the edges of the foliage. It would be tough thought due to the storm. It caused the branches of the jungle to sway often.

"Its attached to my shoulder-plates of my robes." he said. It was true Jaceren's cloak was billowing behind him quite a bit due to the storm.

"If it proves to be a hassle I will cut it off. I can always get another."

"Yes it is nice in her ship but we need to prove ourselves. So one day we can be Darths ourselves. We need to work together and show that we are ready to advance as Sith."

IC: Gnar

"My friend Syaa here has some questions for you." Gnar rumbled. Since he was playing the 'bad-cop' he figured it would be best to let her speak first. For now he would be the immobile menacing muscle.

IC: Talentia

The Twi'lek nodded as she raised her blade. "I will make sure to take note of that in the future." she nodded. She wanted to show she was willing to learn from both of the Knights.

IC: Ze'Taki (Room 77)

She had started to get cautious when the blasters had first emerged, one hand straying to her belt as the Falleen Knight spoke. And once he began speaking about a low power setting, she truly focused. Ze'Taki had seen more than a few first-time lightsaber demonstrations, and an explanation of power settings often ended with a quick show of just how low it was, on an unsuspecting youngling.

The Shi'ido guessed Vendax would be the same.

And it was correct.

Even as he began saying the last sounds of 'this', she was drawing her lightsaber and bringing it to bear, the blade springing to first the shorter, and then within a millisecond the longer length. She deflected the shot, aiming to send it through the Falleen's pant leg.

"You'll need to try harder to give me an example of this sting, Knight Raxoriz."

IC (Falleen Jedi):The Falleen smoothly shifted his stance, the bolt bouncing into the floor. He was practically beaming. "Excellent. Excellently done. Good reflexes." He shifted his stance and tapped his foot on the ground. Row upon row of disc-like holographic projections shone against the wall. Most were an indigo blue. One stood out, larger than the rest, shining crimson red.Raxoriz grinned and raised the blaster in a salute. "Now, we need to train your deflection skills and accuracy. The weakness of Form III is that its aim is deflection. Form V is better, because it teaches deflection with a purpose. Rather than carelessly letting an enemy's shots bounce all over a crowded alley or trench, it teaches you to strike back."He gestured to the red disc. " I want you to deflect my shots into the red disc. Don't hit any of the blue discs. The red one will move about the wall, amongst the other discs, and you'll find that it shrinks. Ready?" He raised his pistols again, firing a flurry of shots at Ze'Taki when she indicated she was prepared.OOC: Heading out now, won't be able to post for much of the evening. Omega'd, I'll let you play out the test for Ze'Taki, and Raxoriz will give an eval when I get back. The red disc will move around, shrink in size, get faster and multiply. It's almost like some kind of Wii game.Expect a new character soon.

IC (Lancer Squadron): From the surface of Coruscant came a group of eight fighters. Nimble TIE fighters, piloted by a group of veteran clone pilots. They were en route to return to the Lance, only to find that the Arquitens cruiser was gone, and a Gozanti cruiser in place. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. Lancer Squadron seamlessly shifted into a loose formation and began to fire at the Gozanti. The kriffers would pay for the lives of their clone brethren.

IC (Vel Orral)
Vel’s gaze wondered around the beleaguered forest, trying to ignore the wicked and wild wind that blew branches from trees, tore leaves from the embrace of their fellows and whipped loose dirt up into swirls of blinding filth. Each drop of rain felt like a prick of a needle. Things were getting bad. Then he saw it, a thick tangle of underbrush and sturdy trees. It’d have to do. “Follow me!” He started towards the mass of vegetation, fully intending to cower in it until the storm broke. Attempting to cross the sea right now would just be an overly elaborate way of committing suicide.
IC (Tracking post for various patient people)
The swoop gang, being hard pressed by a rather tangled attempt at turning tail and fleeing the planet with all due haste, had neglected to turn off or disable the channels the erstwhile hunters were attempting to track the vehicle through. According to the results, the unfortunate fellows piece of junk that he had the courage to call a vessel was somewhere deep in the undercity, in the tangled mess of old Coruscant, in a condemned portion of mess of factories known as the Works.
IC (Trentin)
“You’ve earned your pay alright. I didn’t think…” The Chiss fell silent as the TIE fighters appeared on the sensors. “Well. Compared to a cruiser, these shouldn’t be a problem yes?”

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

OOC: Bearing in mind that the primary sensor array was cut off by a certain Zeltron Jedi, retconning the picking-up-on-sensors that Basilisk reported to a reported passed up the chain of command by the turret gunners.

IC(Helor Tuorri, Bravely ran away):

The pirate listened to the report from the turret gunners. Eight fighters, and good ones. The question from the boss-lady did not fall on deaf ears, of course, though he was slightly busy going over hyperspace coords and picking one that was safer than the rest.

"Less of a problem, yeah, but they could buy time for something bigger to take up the chase, if we weren't running straight off. Which we are."

The pirate ship had passed escape velocity by the time it broke atmo, and had retained much of that speed during the duel with the Lance*, meaning that, while the acceleration from its sublight engines was slow, they were no longer having to deal with air resistance, and were making good time towards the safe zone for hyperspace jumps.

Less than half a minute later, with some more damage to the hull and a few potshots back at the pursuing TIE fighters, the not-very-good ship The Knife's Edge entered hyperspace.

OOC: *A lot of things about how that duel played out don't make sense, most going back to the movement of objects in space, something we both seem to have not accounted for. It could be that the commander of the Lance chose to match outward velocity with the pirates, perhaps intending to stay on top of them to prevent escape and make shooting easier - in fact, with a wrecked targeting computer, it might have even been a good idea - but such a move limited them greatly in terms of offensive capabilities, particularly as remaining in the same orbital position (not enough information to tell whether it was geostationary) would have disallowed the trick that took the turbolasers out of play.

IC:Viyali sighed slightly at the response, coat shifting slightly as she walked further into the room. Her cane tapped down lightly with each confident step, as she finally came to a stop in the exact center of the room. She rested both hands on the head of her walking aid, leaning on it slightly, as she silently observed both her fellow Knight, and his apprentice.

"With your permission, Renkin, I could use a workout. And I rather suspect you could use the chance to observe your Padawan's skills. Any objections?"

"No, but don't hurt her.""I won't. A few bruises at most." The Knight's head shifted slightly, facing Talentia. "So how about it? Think you can handle a match with a blind woman?"

IC: Ze'Taki (Room 77)

She nodded, and onwards the shots came.

To be true, it was tough. Perhaps not at first, when the shots came at a moderate pace and the target didn't move all that fast. During that, she didn't miss a single shot, deflecting them all into the red disc.

Next, however, the disk began to shrink and move faster. Still, Ze'Taki got nearly everyone, utilizing the Force to amplify her sight and so track the disc better. One or two shots she simply dodged, but she didn't let any of the ones she deflected hit anything but the red disc.

The third 'stage' of sorts was marked by the speeding up of the blasts, and the spiltting of the red disc into two. However with this came a bit of slowness, allowing the Shi'ido to still make sure the shots she deflected hit their mark. Now she dodged a bit more, allowing shots to pass her by in favor of keeping great accuracy with the ones she did deflect.

And then the disc spilt into 3, and then 4. Ze'Taki opted to change styles now, hitting every shot back but missing the red disc every 5-6 shots.

The Shi'ido deflected the last shot, which flew right into a red disc that was zipping upwards toward the right corner of the room. Tired, she deactivated her lightsaber and allowed her shoulders to sag, but she didn't take her eyes off of the Knight in front of her.

The Devaronian Jedi smiled as Kaal was completely distracted from the conversation at hand by something with powers of persuasion over even Jedi: food. Alyia walked along behind the Bouncer, avoiding the few furry tentacles that trailed behind him. She herself wasn't that interested in food, though picked out a small pastry nonetheless.

IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen clapped. "Very well done, very well done indeed, Ze'Taki." He once again adjusted the knobs on his blasters, holstering one, and offering the other to the Shi'ido initiate, handle first. "I'd like you to try shooting with one these. It's got quite a kick, so you'll want to hold it with two hands. Firing one-handed isn't something a beginner should try. It doesn't work well. Helps keep your aim steady. Being out on the battlefields, you never know when you might need to put a bit of range between you and the enemy."

He pressed a button on a small control in his other hand. Five training remotes floated from chutes that opened up in the floor. "You probably haven't been trained in the use of one of these. But, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Follow your instincts, pace your shots, and take the time to steady yourself. Otherwise you'll end up missing your target completely." The remotes began to circle about the initiate, before shooting to the other end of the room."The remotes will be firing on you, so I suggest you dodge, try to find the time to stop, center yourself and aim, and don't freeze up when your first shots miss." The Falleen nodded at the remotes. "Oh, and no lightsaber."

IC (Talzin)
Mother Talzin waited. Sitting Indian-style upon a patch of gloriously wet earth, this part of the Renaissance was hers to command, hers to shape and shape it she had. This part of the cold, strange metal craft that the Sith Order called their home had become an abode of the spirits. Others called them myths, or simply a misunderstanding of the Force. Talzin scoffed at them. It was not a misunderstanding that had tested and given her strength during the birth of her daughter. It had not been a misunderstanding that had given her the strength to resist the decimation the Jedi had inflicted on her people. No, the spirits were real, of this she was certain. They were very real and they guided her even now.
This area of the ship, lovingly cared for by the elderly Nightsister, was a forest in miniature. Trees stretched to the cold metal ceiling, the lights above providing them with the energy they needed to grow strong and well. A brook filled with fish native to her beloved homeworld babbled through the center of the room, stones and mosses and even small buzzing insects inhabited this part of the ship. This was her inner sanctum, her small breath of defiance against those who would have burned her world. Even if the Jedi and the Republic were to burn it to the ground….the soil, plants and animals here would go on. They couldn’t take that, no matter how hard they tried. She had scattered seeds, and she knew, one day, they would bloom.
Her joints hurt, her movements weren’t as steady as they had once been, but the aged Nightsister smiled up at her creation. Old age brought wisdom, if one avoided the common pitfalls of rigidity and a fear of change. She thrived off of change, for she dreamed of a changed galaxy. A galaxy where the Jedi were at last cast down, a galaxy where those would seek knowledge and mastery were not dragged down by those who feared them, it was a dream she had given much for….and she was willing to give so much more. Today, a small step would be taken in the right direction. The young apprentice would be arriving soon. Then the lesson could begin.

Meanwhile, L'uo was having a terrible time.

She awoke, filled with energy, and yet simultaneously aching in every imaginable place and then some. Her arms felt weak and yet her mind kept telling her that she was fine, that she should move around and do things. The pain in her legs and her back convinced her otherwise. Her mind was a fog anyways, not entirely sure why she was here. Why was she here? It looked like the medbay. The last thing she remembered was labeling some datachips on the Sith Wars. The more she thought about it, the more her head hurt. Deciding it wasn't worth the effort right now, she attended to her more immediate needs; her throat was killing her. Reaching out with the Force, she found the closest sink and turned it on, water flowing. In a bit of an odd display of telekinesis water began flowing through the air, as though held by an invisible pipe, to her mouth. There wasn't a cup nearby, what else could she do?

Of course, it wasn't perfect, and drops began splashing to the ground almost immediately. Once she decided she had enough, she shut off the Force pipe, laying back and wondering when someone would be there to explain why she felt like that time she partook in the annual lightball competition.

OOC: Given that the gauntlet is not intact and that Serentethe's profile mentions no skill in absorbing and redirecting Force-based attacks of others, I am afraid that the attempt to turn the Acklay's lightning against it did not succeed. Since the attempt to catch and redirect the lightning is mentioned, this leads to the conclusion that the lightning hit home.

NPC: Sensing weakness as its prey drew back quickly, but not quickly enough to evade the lightning, the Acklay lunged forward, lashing out with one of its front claws, aiming to impale its new meal on the end of it. In the low light of the jungle floor, a faint blue glow could be seen around the claw. The charging Acklay kept its head high, jaws wide open and all three eyes trained on its prey, while its other front claw swept behind the morsel, poised to catch it if it tried anything tricky.

IC(Helor Tuorri, Hyperspace Post 1/3):

With Coruscant getting further away every second, the pirate breathed more easily, and had some time to think about other things. His pay was the first that came to mind - with the large bonus he'd be getting for how tricky the escape from Coruscant had gotten, he'd be more than able to make some much-needed repairs to his ship. The main sensory array was an obvious one, but the hull in general probably needed attention after that. The sublight engines needed work, too. Replacement, actually - he was far past tired of his being the slowest ship in the sky, and if the Jedi had managed to flag them before the Lance blew, then a few illegal upgrades couldn't make things any worse. In fact, if he could find the right seller, he might be able to get some better firepower patched on, though that would probably mean a serious reactor overhaul to make up for the added power drain.

Speaking of his pay... Not many could afford that kind of money for an extra gun who weren't in a position to see that a well-placed bribe drew the attention of the authorities away from them, but his new boss was clearly one of those people, and the Jedi were clearly very interested in her. Not the sort of thing he liked not knowing about, not when things got as hot as they had. Rotating his chair slightly, Tuorri turned to look at the Chiss with his two front eyes.

"Now that we're off of Coruscant, you mind telling me what all this is about? Most days I don't exactly like working for people the Jedi take a particular interest in, seeing as it tends to lead to them taking a particular interest in me, which doesn't do much fitting in with my plan of not dying."

We will remember - Skies may fade and stars may wane; we won't forget

And your light shines bright - yes so much brighter shine on

We will remember - Until the skies will fall we won't forget

We will remember

We all shall follow doom

IC: Ammaton Kirkbride | Courscant --> Heading to the Works

Ammaton turned his head to look out of the window, as he adjusted to the seats. The softness and level of comfort expected out of even the lowest level of air taxi - at least, the ones around these levels - was still higher than that of his own seat. He just couldn't feel the support, and thus seemed to be squirming.

"Lot's of jobs like this one before?" he asked, trying not to directly mention where they were going. He doubted anything as ridiculous as the cabbie being a Swoop Gang agent, but still, he didn't have a feeling the bounty hunter would want too much direct mention of the job to be made.

IC: Serentethe within the Jungles of Lehon

The Kaminoan flew backward as the lightning struck him in the chest. He slid along the rain slicked grassy forest floor, his white skin streaked with dirt. Slowly, he pushed himself up off the ground and than looked down at the remains of his gauntlet. It was in ruins. His claws were gone. There were cracked patches of metal all along his hand and worst of all his fingers were covered in blood. He gave a near growl as he took a step forward. The lightning missing his gauntlet was unappreciated at best, still the creature would die.. He stopped and stood still. The creature may have broken one of his claws, but he was still intent on killing the creature barehanded. But his goals would have to wait. First, he had to get some distance between them. He ran forward his right arm raised behind him. He then tossed his arm forward, threw a blast of telekinetic energy ahead of him and immediately dashed off to the side, his white form disappearing around the trees.

He may want to kill it with his hands but, in his current situation that would have to be postponed in favor of gaining the distance needed for him to gather his thoughts.

OOC: I'm not going to debate with you 'cause you're staff, but I would like to say something. He has two gauntlets, one on either hand, and only one broke so he'd still be able to use his hand. I didn't say he was capable of redirecting all Force attacks, but I figured that someone capable of using a certain ability would be able to with the same ability. I'm pretty sure I put that he could use Force Lightning in his profile, maybe I was wrong. Lastly, his gauntlets have a similar function to that of the Sith stalker ones, which I'm pretty sure, are capable of redirecting.

Edit: Also, I didn't think redirecting attacks should be counted under skills.
