IC (Mariko):

Reordin was right - the dark Toa did like the plan quite a bit. He let his shoulders roll in their sockets, joints popping slightly as the muscles stretched, as if anticipating action any second. He looked the Maru in the eye.

"You want the squatters dead? Consider them dead."

This may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

He pushed the thought away. Don't flatter yourself.

IC:

"Biggest group of maniacs I've ever been part of." Skrihen supplied helpfully, crossing her arms across her chest. "But, that's a plan I can get behind. When do we get started?"

IC Solvi

Her eyes took in the room while the Captain took note of them, moved and eventually spoke. Someone else had been in here quite recently and, judging by the atmosphere, it hadn't been the best of moods or tidings they brought.  "I was escorting Jolek here back to your office, he quickly lost his way around HQ and wasn't finding anything but trouble. Elly decided to tag along due to quote, boredom." She spoke, turning her attention back to the Captain.

Not to mention that, "I also have my report from Ga-Koro to bring you." She wondered how he would react to news of foreign dignitaries with exotic powers landing on their beaches...

IC: "Trouble" indeed.

A sideways glance to the diminutively pink De-toa beside him.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

IC: "Nothin'." Erzu said simply, flopping into the hammock, having sincere doubts the titanic toa he was bunking with would object. When it came to occupants, things made of mostly plant fiber tended to prefer "tallish and athletic" to "The Mountain that Bomayes."

OOC: Dessa and Tezzek from Ga-Wahi

IC: Dessa (Old Fusa Path)

She approached the crossroads and double-checked the signage to her map to be sure.

"Yep, that's Sky's Heights Way."

She turned away from the mountains and let her gaze wander out along the rolling, grassy hills stretching to the coastline.

"Wow, what a view! My family'll absolutely love it here."

IC: Tezzek

Turning, Tezzek let out a slow whistle. "It sure is." Glancing down, he saw in the distance a faint wisp of smoke, probably the smoldering remains of what was once his campfire. I hope that the crab meat is still edible, he thought idly. He chuckled softly at himself over his unusual fixation on that crab.

IC: Naohi [Ta-Koro {Magma Lounge}]

Her eyes lit up, more than usual anyway, "Ooooooh, Alchohol!" She said with wonder, "I can't say i've had that before! It'll probably be a treat!" She beaned, as they passed through the entryway and into the building beyond.

OOC: (not gonna describe the interior 'cause i'm certain i'll get it wrong. :u)

IC: Ril

"Would you pinky swear on it?"

IC:

One pinky extended towards the not-yet-dead Guardsman.

IC (Jin)

I laughed. "The only trust I have is that it's better for her to pay me than shut me up. I'm more useful alive than dead; that's it."

IC:

Nika's head sunk. He had anticipated Pae's response, and he wasn't sure whether to believe Jin's. Green eyes dulled with resignation.

IC (Jin)

I looked at Pae, then Nika. Did my best to ignore the shadows fluttering behind them.

"Look. You guys don't trust me, and I don't blame you. I don't trust you either, to be honest. But we don't trust Polzin either. So we've got a choice. Either we trust Polzin more than each other, and we split. Hope that she'll leave us alone. Or we decide to stick together and finish this job. Safety in numbers."

I shrugged. "It's just a question of who's more likely to stab us in the back. Up to you."

IC: Larvi - Not far outside of the village

Okay. Just one more try. I'm certain I can manage it this time. All I have to do is concentrate on both aiming and powering my mask, look where I want to go, and then teleport there in an instant. It wasn't going to be that hard to learn, was it. I could handle this, right? Right. I would become one of the best teleporters ever, and then I would... teleport places! Yeah, teleport everywhere. Walking would become redundant!

Eh... Maybe I should just not do it. I mean, I like walking.

No! This is just like walking! Only you're sort of blinking yourself out of existence. Or ripping your way through space and time.  Maybe even killing yourself every time, creating an exact duplicate in the new location. Could... I have already killed myself and not even noticed?!

Maybe I should find someone else with this mask first, see if using it has caused them any mental or physical damages. Just to be on the safe side. Waiting a little longer is better than ending up half in one location and half in another, or trapped outside of the universe in some endless abyss of nothing, or even teleporting into the air and falling by mistake.

No, I can do this. Just stop worrying about it and move.

I took a deep breath and stared at a spot a short distance away. Letting all of my concentration flow into the mask, I prepared to teleport. The problem with preparing for something like this is the struggle against shutting your eyes, which would in turn make you unable to teleport at all. A vicious cycle to be certain. Okay, one more try.

A second later I found myself standing on solid ground. "Yes!" I couldn't believe it. Landing on the ground was so much more pleasant than landing in the air. It was only when I turned around that I realized just how far off target I was. I had gone in the right direction, sure. But the distance? I was about three times as far away as I had wanted to be. "No..."

Flopping back onto the ground, I let loose a sigh. Maybe I wasn't cut out to being a Toa? Maybe the storm, the stone, the shore... maybe it was all just some sort of cosmic fluke? Wouldn't that be hilarious: Larvi the Accidental Toa. Besides, I didn't really need to know how to use my mask. That's just like... a bonus to being a Toa, right? They don't really need to use their mask; they're mostly just there to look really cool.

Dropping my head down to the ground, I let out a groan. "Karz."

OOC: Larvi open for interaction! :D

Lain from Le-Wahi, talking about Larvi

IC Lain

Ah, Ta-Wahi.

Bloody terrible place it was. Seeing as how there was little in the landscape worthy of his attention. Few trees, burnt husks wherever they were, few animals... No, the flora and fauna were distinctly minimalist, obviously Mata-Nui had run out of either creativity or motivation by the time he crafted the dusty volcanic karzhole.

"It's bloody hot here." He grumbled to the little group, even his watery elemental constructs were coming out lukewarm and unappetizing, much less hydrating. Recapping his water skin after a long drought, he caught a curious sight in the distant. A toa either fooling around with -or- completely unsure of how to use their Kualsi. He pointed it out to the group, "I am sufferin' from heat stroke 'ere, or is the lass up there real for all of ya as well?"

IC: "No, I see her too..." Ash replied for the first time in what felt like months, understandably much more comfortable in the volcanic region's heat thanks to his elemental persuasion.

And in regards to other kinds of persuasions, that was a girl lying flat on her back and undoubtedly suffering.

"I'll go check he-- it out!" he chirped excitedly, vanishing with a Kualsi's tell-tale pop and reappearing well into the distance, and orange-and-blue blob from behind the heat haze.

"Hey."

The combination of the teleportation's sound and the greeting should have been enough to not startle her, so he approached from the small destination distance he'd chosen. Crouching down low from just to her side (and by chance blocking some sun, as little of it as there was through the thick, omnipresent ash clouds), he looked her up and down, trying to assess what was going on.

"You doin' alright?" he asked, hoping the conclusions his mind had leapt to would prove correct.

OOC: A character named Lain. Carrying the Gáe Bolg. Played by Lugh. And working with a character under Gungnir. Words cannot describe just how awesome I find this.

IC: Larvi

As I was on the ground evaluating the situation, and hoping that maybe my mask was just defective and that I was worrying over nothing, a unexpected sound came from nearby, one I recognized from my own failed uses of said mask.

A Kualsi user... just what I had been thinking about trying to find, and they had come to me instead of making me try to search them down. Maybe I wasn't the cursed laughing stock of fate that I had moments ago been certain that I was. Maybe fate was just really weird at times.

Pushing myself slightly up from the ground as he approached, I heard him speak. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I was just... uh... admiring the clouds."

Way to go Larvi. That is totally something that normal and sane people do. Staring up into oppressing darkness in the sky was totally a common past time within Ta-Wahi.

That was when I first got an actual look at the Toa crouching beside me. Yeah... I quickly averted my eyes, trying not to stare on for too long. No, I had to concentrate on a rock nearby. It was a very nice rock very... rocklike. And I was staring again. Stop that.

"... I'm.. kind of new to Toa-ing." It was probably better to just get an explanation out of the way. "I have no idea how to use my mask."

IC: He chuckled good-naturedly, offering a hand as he rose to his full height. "We've all been there, let me tell you. It'll come to ya."

Inexperienced, and embarrassed about it, huh? Pretty cute combo.

At least an A Minus, combined with those looks!

"I'm Ash. Traveling with everybody in that group off... thhhataway." he introduced himself, eyes searching for a moment for the wavy forms of his companions in the distance, before pointing them out helpfully.

IC: Larvi

I found myself reaching out to take the hand without really thinking about. By the time I realized it was a little late to think about pulling my hand back. Way to go Larvi, you can't even look him in the eye and you're taking his hand. Because you totally needed more reason to for people to think you were crazy. Well, at least he seemed to be nice enough.

I gazed in the direction he was pointing, thankful for something else to divert my attention instead of just a rock, regardless of how nice of a rock it was. I could sort-of make out the appearances of people, but I wasn't certain how many of them there were. Judging from his wording though, that meant at least two.

"I'm Larvi. Nice to, uh... meet you."

Reaal smooth. Linguist of the year right here, folks!

IC: Larvi

Having another person show up was so much of a relief. It was a lot harder to be awkward with one person when there was another to help prevent it from happening. Of course I wasn't doing so well at negating the awkwardness myself. Well done, Larvi.

Of course, this second person looked quite a bit more intimidating than Ash did, so how much his presence reduced the awkwardness really depended on how intimidating a person he was. Probably should try to reply, it was the polite thing to do.

"Uh... Hi."

Welp, back to the rock.

Difficulties he said. Difficulties. Oh, no difficulties. Only the inability to properly use my mask, a total lack of any knowledge of how to use my elemental power, or even what element it was, and the ever present difficulty of not being used to both my size and my own suddenly increased strength. Everything was fiiiine.

As for being alright... how much stress is still considered within reasonably safe levels?

Standing up, I turned to face Lain with a weak smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just... having some issues figuring out how to use my Kanohi."

IC Kihohiki

Nobidy in here looked like they knew the difference between a Kane-Ra and a Muaka, so Kihohiki made quick for the door.

Once outside, he decided Ta-Wahi was not the place to be about without company, so he headed off, away from the village.

It was a glorious union of pinkies.

IC:

"...this is getting kinda awkward, Ril."

IC: Pae - Ta-Koro - Abandoned Warehouse

"Nika."

IC:

"One of you stabs me in the back, no great loss," Nika said. "Like you, Pae; don't believe in our employer's promises. Doing this...."

The Vortixx hesitated.

"... just ... would like to think that I did something right in this life. For once."

IC: Larvi

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just... having some issues figuring out how to use my Kanohi."

IC:

Lumira poked her head out from behind Ash, grinning broadly.

"Hey, come with us then!" she said. "We could probably help ya out. Couldn't we, guys?"
