Friar Tuck

IC - Raehn - Bar: "Hm..." Raehn looked at the others, and then shrugged. Karma. That is what this is. Watching the others for another moment, she suddenly moved a hand to her mouth. The whistle that followed was, to say the least, quite loud, even over the sounds around them and especially for someone who was not a Toa of Sonics. If that didn't get Quada and the other guy whose name she did not know to focus, she wasn't sure what else would.

IC: Durim"We are leaving for Ta-Koro, now." He commented boredly to Vilok, The team was rather unorganized so far... he didn't really like that... but, he was stuck with them at the moment. He just hoped Quada got ready soon, for then they could leave.

OOC: Dude, you paid attention to his profile details! This is why its worth the wait to RP with you. -fist pump-IC - Kol Uskey - Cave"If ya' intended ta kill me, ya' wou've done it in the cave." he countered defiantely. It was true, Hiemalis' words. He could kill him whenever he wanted to. Kol should'be been afraid. Anyone else- bar Koskium and the rest -would be trembling and begging for mercy. But not Kol. He was too stubborn yet. But even the toughest nuts could crack. He glowered as his necklace was taken. A keepsake from his only day out of Onu-Koro."Don' take wha' isn't yer's, Brakas."

Ic: He looked down at the necklace as it rested in his palm. "It is mine now," Hiemalis countered chillingly as he closed his fist around the tooth. "Just as you are."He remembered his actions in the cave, recounting them blow by blow in his mind. He cocked his head as he replied to Kol's first remark, as if musing over it. "Thirdteen matoran have died today by my hand. Thirteen, added to the many I have slain before. Thirteen, added to the thousand who will perish when my shadow is fully cast on this island. Thirteen who were killed perhaps mercifully, thirteen who will never live to see the the day their elders are smitten and their heroes vanquished. They died today, much like the many others who died before." His voice was sinister as shade as he said all this, and he busied himself by fastening frosty metal chains on Kol, tightening them as effortlessly as if they were rope."You should not be asking yourself why I want to kill you, but why I did not. Why should you, of all people today, not die with the others?"At that, the chain yanked at Kol, taking him through the opening at the top of the cave and flinging him out of it. The rattling of a chain on a pulley and gear system grew louder and louder, and Kol's closed his eyes, if only to protect him from the vertigo, but when he sensed the movement had ceased, the pounding of the chain had stopped and he opened his eyes, he found himself held aloft over a chasm that disappeared in darkness below. The opening to the cave was dimunitive and tiny, just as Hiemalis' tiny but flashing eyes from within the dark recess in the white landscape. Kol was truly in Ko-Wahi now, hovering over nothing by a chain and an icy outcrop of a mountainside to his back. This was Kol's cruel punishment: To wonder why he lived and the others did not, and to ponder Hiemalis' dark prophesy. Despite the brief glimmer of that dark toa's soul, there was little doubt that he could make what he said a reality.Ooc: Might as well move to Ko-Wahi now, lol.

IC-Grochi:Grochi stumbled into Onu-Koro, his hood and cloak on again to cover the brand that had been placed on his chest. He walked with the cane he had picked up, appearing to anybody who didn't know him or know of him like a turaga. A matoran, or some other creature, stared at him from the dark. He fired a blast of plasma at it, hitting it in the throat and burning through. After listening to the strangled cries of the matoran for a moment, Grochi walked farther through the underground village.OOC: Have fun finding the dead matoran, anybody. And the same goes to anybody who decides to interact with Grochi.

IC-Grochi:Grochi, leaning on his cane, slinked into the square. He had his hand over his chest, and he was wheezing heavily. Looking in the center, he saw two Toa...who had apparently killed each other.Odd, he thought, looking down on the bodies. This doesn't normally happen unless you've failed Makuta...something I have yet to do. He burned the bodies with plasma, disposing of the mess.He looked around. "Could anybody please tell me what just happened here?" He called out, hoping anybody in the crowd looking on the apparent suicide would be able to tell him.

Ooc: Part 2 of my jam session with Nuju Metru. Part 1 can be found here."There are many people who claim to be heroes," Whenua said stonily. "What makes you think I should trust that you're not like them?""There are many people who claim to have hero juice in their veins because they are toa," Stannis explained. "They masquerade under the guise of protectors and guardians because of their titles, but not all of them live up to their supposed ideals. But here I am, a grasshopper to them, a matoran who could be harvesting lava in Ta-Koro when I'm out here wrestling with the dangers of destiny. I transcend the rules, the stereotypes. I am a hero because I do what they don't and walk the paths they can't. But most importantly, I've gotten farther than any of the others. My ability to have gotten as far as I have is testament of what I am."Whenua leaned closer as Stannis said this, his face showing the wisdom of the ancients, deep as the Great Mine and vast as the Endless Sea. The turaga peered into Stannis' eyes, and what he saw he approved of. The turaga nodded as he reclined back into his chair, but he wasn't completely satisfied yet. "I sense that you are a man of your word. But did you just seem me to recount your skills and talk about the news? Or does your visit have a purpose?"Stannis nodded and said, "I have most of the puzzle figured out now, and only a couple pieces remain. Four of the parts have been uncovered, but the secret from Onu-Koro is one of the clues I need to continue my quest. I have come here to seek answers.""What do you know so far?" Whenua asked."I know the clues from four of the former Chronicler's Company members. Hafu: Only the most Creative can unlock it. Macku: Only those pure in spirit can enter here. Tamaru: Only those truly faithful can find it. Kopeke: Only those at peace can enter here. I know there are six clues, each held by a member of the old Chronicler's Company. I know that if all six parts are together, it can hurt the Makuta.""How do you know there are six parts?" Whenua asked, curious to see how Stannis knew so much."Hafu told me," Stannis replied simply.Whenua appeared impressed. He sighed deeply before he continued, changing tact. "Others have come before me asking about Taipu's whereabouts, but none truly understood what they were looking for and why, and so I told them I did not know where he was, which is as much as all the matoran know."Stannis remained silent, waiting for the elder to continue."Brother, what I am about to entrust with you has never been given to a matoran before," Whenua warned, his face turning serious and powerful as granite. "It is of the strictest nature and will mean endless dangers. If you do not keep it as sacred as I have, it will mean your death, and if it is not by Makuta's servant's hands, then I will ensure it myself. Do you understand this charge?"Stannis anticipated this, half-expecting that whatever he left with that day would live up to the axiom that "what you know can kill you." "Yes, Turaga, I do," he said firmly. At this, Whenua got up and closed ever window, checked outside the door and locked it and finally, content with the privacy in his hut, returned to his seat. "I regret keeping even my fellow Onu-Koro citizens in the dark, but it's something I had to do. Taipu came to me before he left, and while he did not tell me where he was going, I suspect he did not voyage into the mines, as I have told the others. To the contrary, I believe he instead went to higher places... As he bid me farewell, Taipu made clear that he had no intention of returning to Onu-Koro. He also gave me this."Whenua reached under his seat and removed a round stone tablet. It was flat, and what appeared to be some sort of inscriptions were on its face, but the sigils on it resembled nothing Stannis had ever witnessed before. "Do you understand what this says?" Whenua said as he passed it across the table to Stannis."No, Turaga, I do not," the matoran said, passing a hand on the wheel. "Who made it?""Taipu said his friend, the master carver Hafu, made it. However, he did not tell me what the writings meant. I was unable to decipher them myself.""To ask the obvious, have you taken it to Nokama in Ga-Koro?" Stannis said, apologizing for sounding like a new student asking a stupid question in class."I have shared it with my fellow Turaga," Whenua said, nodding. "She could not decipher it, since it is not a language she has ever seen. However, when Nuju saw it, his face gave away that he recognized something of its nature, though he said nothing." Whenua chuckled. "Despite all of his wisdom, Nuju is still a terrible liar. When I confronted him about the tablet later, though, he refused to say what he knew; he told me that he did not fully comprehend it and that its word was too dangerous to speak aloud."Stannis looked closely at the tablet, but finally handed it back to Whenua, a hopeless look on his face. "What do you think of it?" he asked finally."My suspicion is that it is in the bird tongue Nuju insists on speaking," Whenua counseled. "But I can't say more about it. What I can say, however, is that this tablet is the only way any of us can find out more about where Taipu is. If you want to find the next clue, this tablet is the only lead I know of."Stannis looked forlorn, though. As fascinating as all that was, he was still no closer to finding Taipu and his clue than he was ten minutes ago. But his face perked as an idea came to him. "Three people know what this tablet means. It was written by Hafu in the bird tongue and Nuju understood it. Hafu, unfortunately, isn't able to help, but if Taipu knew what it means, then it is likely that he went to Nuju. As the saying goes, 'Birds of a feather flock together.'""I agree," Whenua concurred."Turaga, I asked for three things. You've given me guidance and instilled in me hope, but I still need direction. Where would you send me next in my search?""I think the natural next step is to seek out Nuju. Perhaps you will have more luck in coaxing him to share with you the meaning of the tablet than I have had.""Thank you, Turaga," Stannis said, getting up."Not at all, Brother. But remember my warning: Keep it sacred. The others in your group must not be told about this. That said, is there anything I can do to help you further?""We have no need for weapons," Stannis said. "The fighting is best left to the warriors. But... ussals to speed us in our journey would be appreciated.""The crabs will be of little use outside of the caves, but you are welcome to take as many as you need.""Perhaps a trip through the highway to Ta-Koro, where we can resupply and then take the cablecar across the North March to Ko-Wahi would work," Stannis thought aloud."Wiremu, one of my best, went up there recently to fix the cablecar, and what Wiremu fixes usually stays that way for a long time. I think that would be the best path to take," Whenua said as he escorted Stannis to the door."Thank you for everything, Turaga," Stannis said. "May the Great Spirit be with you.""And may the Three Virtues burn brightly in your heart, my brother," Whenua said, opening the door and bidding Stannis farewell.

Ic: Stannis breathed deeply as the door to the turaga's hut closed behind him. He had more information now, a mission and a direction to go on, and a means to get there. For now, the dangers that he was sure would plague him, the Rahkshi, the dark toa, the hunting rahi -- they were but an afterthought. The thrill of the next steps would fuel him, be the adrenaline in his soul as he pushed himself and his friends further into the quest. The others may lose trust in him, he knew. He couldn't tell them what he had learned from Whenua, and so this would be a test of their faith in him. The team hadn't been together long, but he hoped that their Unity would keep them together through the end.He went out to find his followers.Ooc: Guys, that's your que of sorts. Stannis will be searching for you all now, so best y'all rendesvouz with him soon so we can move right along. Also, feel free to build off of the distrust I mentioned here. This is a great place to build a team dynamic.

IC: Onyx's Henchmen, Onu-Wahii CatacombsTwitch cursed as Raveian lifted him off the ground by the neck, his massive hand closing around and lifting his neck with ease. "Pitiful. You crawl back to home, like a beaten dog." The Toa puncuated each word with a knee to the Toa's body. Twitch groaned during it all, not fighting back.Growling, Raveian threw him against the entrance's wall. "Fool! You think you can fail, and not expect a punishment?!?" He bellowed at him, slowly creating a ball of concentrated sonics in his hand."Raveian. He didn't fail." Luncora said as he tapped him on the shoulder. "His matoran friend grabbed it." Saying this, Luncora lifted a strange little metal box that appeared to have swirls of glass in it.Raveian's frowning face slowly turned into a grin. "Excellent." OOC: When is that Funeral going to happen, Vorex?

IC-Grochi:Grochi shrugged, walking away from the pile of slag that was all that remained of the two who had comitted suicide in the center square of Onu-Koro. He used his Kualsi and teleported to the opening to Le-Koro, heading for the sea and using his Kualsi again to teleport to the Kumu Islets, to the ruins of Xa-Koro.OOC: Grochi to Kumu.

OOC: Stannis could stop by while we are talking though. Hopefully he is allowed to talk about the four clues Stannis already knoe, as Dece doesn't know those clues.OOC: Amaya I believe.IC: Dece had decided to spend this pause in conversation by counting the grains in the rock floor. He was at five hundred and seventy two, but there were plenty more to find. As he searched the ground the Fe-Matoran couldn't help but wonder what was this strange Matoran was. He didn't...feel like any Matoran Dece had ever seen before, and it certainly wasn't how they should be. But Nichou and company assumed that he was fine. Perhjaps it involved his visions...

OOC: Hard to start it with school. But here it is.IC: [Arkrak]The duo arrived at a small procession, where a Matoran was standing over the coffin of where the fake corpse of Incommodo lay. Despite the fact that it was a funeral, there was a cheerful mood everywhere, probably because of the fact that there was free food."Gathered friends. We are here to mourn the passing of Toa Incommodo, a good friend, fellow drinker and somewhat foolish being."

OOC: I'm gonna PM Nuju to see if he has any intention of finishing the conversation, or if we should just leave. EDIT: Yep, it's the latter.IC: LekuaLekua narrowed his eyes in thought. The Onu-Matoran knew more than he was telling, Lekua was sure. But it seemed unlikely that he would relinquish the information, and even if he did, Lekua wasn't certain he wanted the stranger to hear, anyway. The stranger...Lekua's gaze fell upon the Toa of Sonics. The being was entirely gray, not a speck of color on him - except for his eyes, which were a bright, sickly yellow. Unnatural, that one.Onepu shook his head. "I'm sorry, my friends. I wish I could help you, but that is truly all I know."Lekua stared at the Onu-Matoran for a few more seconds, then shrugged. "Very well. Much-thank you for your time, at least." He shook the Ussalry captain's hand, and with that the five Matoran exited the hut."Well, that was exciting-productive," he remarked. "Hopefully Stannis had more happy-luck. Should we look for him first, or try to search-find Atiel and Lepidran?"OOC: This would be a good time for Lepidran and Atiel to randomly run into the group, just to speed things along.

IC: Dece ignored Amaya, not willing to give him any ground. Not the literally ground of course, rather an edge in thispossibly one-way chess match the two Matoran were in. As Lekua ended the conversation the Matoran departed, with Dece making sure he was in a view to watch Amaya. He didn't trust this...abomination at all, it was too incorrect. Perhaps this was what the creations of the Makuta felt like...

IC: [Arkrak]"He was a good man, and did his duties well in the name of Mata Nui. Let him rest in peace forever in this small hole we just dug several seconds ago, and let us go eat the free food."The Matoran speaker promptly ran over to the food table, leaving Incommodo and Arkrak standing near the coffin, which had been set into the earth."Want to say anything to your 'bro'?" asked Arkrak.

OOC: No, we have to wait for Zoma to post. The plan is still in action, but Arkrak and Inc are now in charge of it, and may well recieve their jobs back upon the plan's completion.IC: Incommodo"Why don't we just wait, and see who shows up?" Incommodo suggested.
