I have found myself among similar audiences. It amazes, no- scares me that people can be so insensitive sometimes. I can't help but wonder what do they get out of it? Why do some people feel so compelled to act disrespectful and immature?

I feel like peer pressure could have a lot to do with it, although teenage angst and hormones are contributers as well. People are so pressured to be in relationships that it's no longer about an actual relationship. As you said above, it becomes a farce.

(This isn't to say that honest relationships are impossible to come by and that every single one is a farce. This clearly is not true.)

Me? I'm choosing to ignore the pressures my friends are putting on me. I'd rather wait until the right person comes along than rush it. In the meantime, I will enjoy the post-Valentine's Day candy sales.

When I would play flying games with adults they would usually reverse the axis just because they're pilots and that's what's familiar for them. I could never do it, though.
