BioGio Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I'll probably never use it, but I'm not opposed to the idea. Honestly, it's mostly misused, unfortunately, and seems superfluous on blogs. Overall, though, it doesnt' really matter to me. what tags feature? When creating a topic or blog post, it is now possible to add "tags" to mark the topic of the post/topic. ~ BioGio dig "You're a scientist? The proposal you make violates parsimony; it introduces extra unknowns without proof for them. One might as well say unicorns power it."
Meiko Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I'm fine with it. It is kind of annoying though when people don't spell a tag correctly or don't properly capitalize it. I use it yeah, when I'm creating a new topic. -- Meiko - @georgebarnick LUG Ambassador and administrator at Brickipedia News reporter and database administrator at Brickset Administrator at BIONICLEsector01 DISCLAIMER: All opinions and contributions made under this account are based solely on my own personal thoughts and opinions, and in no way represent any of the above groups/entities. The Mugbearer Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I use tags often, 'cause I know that it's easir to find a topic when it's tagged. <<I am selling LEGO FTL Instructions on Gumroad!>> <<My Patreon page>> <<DIGITAL LEGO MOC COMMISSIONS - OPEN>>
Bfahome Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I'm rather ambivalent to the change. The description was good to have, but this'll probably make searching easier. I am already abusing the blog tags though.
Captain Marvel Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I use it, but I have to say, I like the description feature better. The tags are kind of awkward, if you ask me. -CM
Toa Smoke Monster Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I wasn't even aware that this feature existed until I read this topic, so no, I haven't used him. I might in the future though. Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.
HAZMAT Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 It's a neat feature, but I see people using them as they're not intended to be used, e.g. as a topic subtitle. I also see a lot of people tagging the topic with words from the title which is pointless.
Erebus Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Yes, it's going to be difficult to use for searching if everyone abuses it. I don't mind the blog tags, but the tags in the forums... Anyways, yes, I do use the tags. I think it can be useful, if used right.
GeluNumber1 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 No. I'm not sure I ever will, either. Why are orange and black such a good color Combination ? Purple is pretty, and so is blue. Pink hurts your eyes, green is quite mellowing, black is very threatning, red is cool, orange is SO awesome, yellow's hard to read... But you can't see white at all! Oh, wait. I forgot brown. Here's my thoughts: If a person tells the truth and says, " I always lie," Is he lying? Or is he telling the truth? And what has a mouth, but no head, and a body, but no torso? Do caterpillars like to tend to supporting colum of stone's every need? Or is that name misleading by nature? Speaking of nature, why are the children of animals called offspring? don't many young beasts come alive in spring, and thus, should be called onspring? Heeeeeeyy..... I got the first post on a page for the first time. Who knows; it may happen again. What the... It did happen again... and again... YEAH! I'M ENCOUNTERING PROTODERMIS!
Akuna Toa of Sonics Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Meh, I liked the description feature better. Does anyone want to play the Master Chief Collection with me? I'm trying to get a team going for ranked. PM for GT.
Sumiki Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 If people use it like they used subtitles, it defeats the whole purpose and makes searching for things a little bit harder. Why not have topic subtitles and tags to boot? avatar by Lady Kopaka
Taipu1 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I've used it for my epic, but I don't know that it makes much of a difference. The epic hasn't had any reviews, so I'd probably see it as rather wasted time. - Taipu1.HighFly MatoranShowdownBZPRPG ProfilesHave you seen my Blog? I understand if you haven't

Toa of Nerds Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I don't really like them or find them to be necessary. Eeko Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I don't use it, but I se how it could be useful.
Alice Snek Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 They had these on a bunch of other forums I've been on and I never used them there. Here is not going to be any different. All of life is a journey, and the journey is not about how high you climb or how far you walk. It is about what you learn on the way, and how you choose to use that knowledge.
Cederak Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I'm trying to ignore the topic tags, but I've already seen their misuse across the board. I'm a bigger fan of a simple topic description. -Ced Cederak's Library l Blog: Fair Enough
Blue Fire Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I can see the situations where they can be useful, but personally, I prefered the descriptions better. But it would be cool to have both implemented, with the description above the tags, and those two below the topic title. Soon to come: Star Wars 7.
~Allegretto~ Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I agree with everyone saying descriptions and tags would be nice. I don't really care about tags, but having both would be useful.
Vorahk1Panrahk2 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I don't make topics and I haven't been using them much in blog posts. I prefer the topic descriptions myself. BZPRPG Profiles
You just lost the game Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Never cared for it, don't use it either.
Triggons Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I think it should only be used by the topic starter, so it isn't abused by others. Unless that's what the deal is already, in which case I feel stupid...
Ballom Nom Nom Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I have indeed used it, as I think in the future it will make searching for topics a lot easier. ~B~
Riisiing Moon Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I think it does add a certain efficiency when it comes to searching blogs, a trait I've always found useful since prior to tagging I always searched by scrolling until I found what I was looking for or my mouse broke from overscroll (yeah, that's right, look it up). Nevertheless, the desire for efficiency is usually no match for human laziness, so practically speaking I doubt it'll make much difference. Definitely a smart idea on the part of the staff, though, who're all robots with no emotion and therefore no laziness anyways. "I admire your style, which is colorful, if monochromatic."
Iceter Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I've pretty much never used tags on any website I've used, primarily because I'd have no idea what to tag anything as. I would much prefer to describe a topic. Signature? What is this "signature" you speak of?
xccj Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I like the idea, but so far I don't see members using it right, and I don't quite see that changing anytime soon. So I'm not going to put the effort into creating tags for all my blog entries... I'll let what I write speak for itself. Lewa0111 Nuva Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I do prefer the old "subtitle" feature, since it made BZP more unique and was more fun to use/read. However,I do use the tags feature, mainly just because it's there, so why not? I do like that tags can be multiple words though. Lewa0111 Nuva My Script Comedies: | The Nuva Inn Remake | Ask Matau!
