Omega12
I made a purple Kaukau. Let me know what you think! My reason for making the Kaukau is that I have every other color and wanted a customers color. The mask is dyed, not painted, so it's a nice even color through the mask.More pics.Comparison with other Kaukaus:http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h231/bonepowder/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0218.jpgGravitron, Toa of gravity wearing the mask.http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h231/bonepowder/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0221.jpgSorry if this is in the wrong section, but it is a bionicle creation...Anyway, let me know what you think. Chro
Nicely done- looks great. It seems that this one is a bit more bluish-tinted, too, while another one that I've seen was more reddish purple. (I like this better. ) Edited January 16, 2014 by Chro Quote save not only their lives but their spirits
Omega12
I had seen the people one that purple kaukau created by someone here. That mask was actually the inspiration for this, but I wanted it a darker shade. This mask was actually my second attempt, the first one came out different. And yes, it is slightly pinkish white. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h231/bonepowder/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0224_1.jpg But I have to say, I'm very happy with how this turned out. Torran
Very pretty, lovely completion of the Kaukau rainbow. Is the pink-lemonade version translucent or more solid colour? Quote flickr - Brickshelf
Makuta of Time
The trans color of purple reminds me of grapes and grape juice. Preety great job in dying it. It looks like it can pass as an authentic Bionicle Mask that was never sold.
Omega12
The pink mask is a more solid color, but light can pass through it. I might be convinced to part with it if you're interested... To me it just reminds me of failure (plus I have nothing to use the mask for) Edited January 16, 2014 by Omega12

Ziontyro Metalhead
I was thinking about doing this sort of thing myself, but the best commercial polycarbonate dyes, RIT dyes, no longer can dye polycarbonate, so I have to find another source. Omega12
To anyone wondering how I made this. I found some vintage rit dye and hot water. The pink lemonade kau kau was made differently,by accident and I don't feel comfortable telling people how to make it.
Art Vandelay
Sure go right ahead, the materials I used aren't made anymore so it's not easy to get ahold of them, but it is possible. They still make Rit dye, you know.

Ziontyro Metalhead
For the first attempt, did you happen to use kool aid and vinegar? Ziontyro Metalhead
Might as well. Let us know how it turned out! It doesn't look like it. I tried super concentrating it with only hot acetone, and only one piece took on a very slight shade. I did use only nail polish remover, so that may be why it didn't dye.
