OOC: here's to going out with a bang

 

IC Kotak:

 

He strained against the restraints, his eyes burning fiercely.

 

"What the Karz are you-"

 

A sharp, sudden pain in his arm.

 

He looked. A syringe.

 

He turned back to Nyhe.

 

To this day, no one knows quite what happened. Perhaps he'd twisted fate and stolen his energies back. Perhaps it had been given to him in his hour of greatest need by the Great Spirit. Perhaps he'd simply expended his innate Toa Energy.

 

All that mattered is that as he slipped into unconscious, a swirl of ice and snow exploded outwards from Kotak's body.

 

A final resistance to an untimely end.

Ic: Iyanu

That went well

Apparently he did nothing to the guards before more guards came along. This was a bad spot to be in, so he quickly teleported to the nearest place he could think of...

The roof. He hung there by his knives, taking care to not let his legs dangle down. When the guards left, he tried to get down, but couldn't. He was stuck.

 

Ooc: Iyanu open for rescue!

IC: (Obruent/Halls)

"Someone in the shadows, you say?" intoned Obruent, stepping out of said shadows. The knife twirled in his hand as he advanced on Kuraz.

But he didn't attack, simply brushing past the other toa. He seemed unnaturally calm.

It was an interesting situation in the Rec, interesting indeed...without warning, Obruent, with a flick of his wrist, sent the knife spinning in a lightning-fast deadly arc towards the nearest guard. If it missed it's target, it's finely weighted blade coupled with the specialised way he had thrown it (he had practised for hours in his cell) would cause it to return like a boomerang, only a lot harder to catch.

Come on Ben, I bolded it and everything I guess its too late to change now.

IC: (Obruent/Halls)

The knife missed and came arcing back to it's thrower, who let it slice deep into the wall before plucking it out.

The mess seemed to have cleared up...what a shame.

IC: Navuru (Solitary)

 

I hear voices. The first time in a long while. I hear two. One (Nakton) sounded as though he was in the cell adjacent to mine. The other (Lana) was fainter, probably in the next cell.

 

"*sigh*"

 

"Hello?"

 

"...hi?"

 

"Hi, I'm Nakton and you are?"

 

I decide to continue listening. There is nothing else to do.

 

OOC: Listening to Nakton and Lana.

IC: Gida

The Toa of Lightning wandered back towards her room. From the silence, it would seem that the scuffle had cleared up. She supposed she'd have to look for Halmos another time... he didn't seem to be around anywhere. Hopefully that was a good sign... but it was most likely bad. Yup, it's bad. Did you ever think the staff of this place really had our best interest in mind? Not for a moment. I was just thinking... if he's not around, maybe he left for the day or something. But I doubt that.

 

OOC: Gida in halls, open for interaction.

"Lana..." Well it looked like I had someone to talk to, even in solitary. Yay.

OOC:

Everyone, the doors to surgery are locked and there are surveillance cameras. I'd advise not to attempt a rescue.

 

GM IC Nyhe:

"Scalpel, please."

"Scissors."

"We've got some bleeding. Nurse, 50cc's of clotazine, AQAP."

"Okay, we're ready to implant the inhibitor. Nurse, hand me the implant."

"We're gonna need some stitches. What color do you think? Really? Black? Nah, too plain. I'm thinking white. Fine, I'll do black."

"Okay, get him to the recovery room. I want extra guards placed on him. Six, preferably."

IC: Ikinu

Unfortunately, Ikinu could not get close enough. He could definitely tell Kotak was in there, but why?

Nyhe and the nurses began wheeling Kotak into Recovery, protected by a detail of six guards.

 

"Okay, now we'll wait for him to wake up.

The loudspeaker crackled up again. "Hello everyone. This is doctor Halmos. Please proceed to the recreation area, it is now dinner time."

 

It shut off with a slam sound, louder than Halmos talking on it.

[Nato G]

IC: Scriva.

 

Swallowing nervously, Scriva headed for the recreation area and slumped down at one of the tables, resting her chin in her hands.

IC: Caetus.

 

The entity that had once been Caetus heard the words, echoing through the indistinct fog that surrounded him. They were distorted, fuzzy, but he recognised who they belonged to. Halmos, summoning everyone to the recreation area.

 

Caetus remembered the last time he'd been there.... someone had died right in front of him. And then, only a few hours later, he himself had died.... Which made him wonder....

 

Who was next?

My stomach growled...I wondered if they would bring dinner? They had to feed the people in solitary at some point.

IC:Nakton

 

Dinner time, the best and worst part of the day here in solitary. The food is always the same, a blue mud that tastes as bad as it looks. But it was food nonetheless."How's food in general confinement? The food here in solitary is not...good."

 

IC:Kuraz

 

Kuraz headed for the recreation area and sat in a table at the corner of the room.

"Well, bye!" Velaz said cheerfully as he jogged off to the recreation area, still oblivious to the one that had tripped him.

IC Delaz:

Delaz walked toward the recreation area, strumming slowly on his instrument.

IC: Kovika - Hallways

Kovika, hearing the announcement, followed Kuraz to the recreational area. Asking questions as they went.

"Sister, tell me, how many of us are here? Is it only Toa imprisoned here? Also, if you and I are sane, why lock us up here? What drove all of these other Toa insane?"

How do you know you're sane?

He didn't ask the last thought in his head, as he thought it would be rather rude. He needed to get used to his surroundings, think calmly and methodically, which is how he handled most situations, but Mata Nui, he was in a Karzing Asylum?!

Kovika, you are calm, you are ice, you are a Toa. You know no fear, you are sane and you shall keep your sanity. I shall need to speak with whoever runs the place, get some answers, then I need to stop and meditate on my situation, develop a plan as to how I will survive here.

IC: Scriva - Recreation Area.

 

Out the corner of her eye, Scriva monitored who came into the room, what order they entered in, and who was with them, scrawling it all into her notebook. That kind of information - who was associating with who - was bound to come in handy sooner or later.

He was still, only the trained eye could even tell if he were breathing.

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Primary Holding

Sal looked up at the speaker as she flipped her lighter closed, pocketing it quickly as she returned to her feet. Striding over towards the door, she took one last look at the inside of her new room, switching off the lights and locking it securely behind her before proceeding to skip down the hallway once more, this time towards the Recreation Area.

Time to meet the rest of the inmates.

IC: Caetus - Cell.

 

The being who was inhabiting his cell stepped through the door and.... vanished. He tried to follow, but there was nowhere to go. There was nothing beyond the cell door but a fuzzy grey wall of.... fuzziness. This cell was his entire world, and he was stuck here. 

 

"Just let me die!"

Ic: Iyanu

The announcment blared over the speakers and people started to flood into the rec area below him, sitting down and eating, talking to each other, not looking up. Iyanu sighed. And then he started to move down. Slowly, but surely, the roof began to crack and pieces fell off it. Iyanu looked up just as the roof gave way, and he fell atop a table in a mess of rubble and paint. He stood up, brushed himself off, and went to get a meal before sitting down at another table.

IC: (Obruent/Recreational Area)

Obruent sat at a table next to some other toa, staring around.

He knew the drill...that thing would come and someone would die...if it came for him he would let it take him and he would...wake up, yes. This was obviously a dream.

GM IC Nyhe:

Nyhe turned to one of the nurses. "I need to rush over to the cafeteria. Make sure you tell me as SOON as he wakes up."

 

Nyhe rushed over to the cafeteria, found an empty table, stood atop it and began to speak.

 

"Ahem... Hello, everyone. I am Doctor Nyhe, I'm the Chief of Medicine here at the Metru Nui Sanitarium, formerly St. Lhikan's Asylum for the Mentally Ill, and I want to assure everyone about the recent crisis."

 

"Yesterday, we lost two patients to an unknown presence. The leader of the Toa Metru, Toa Nuhrii and his second-in-command, Toa Vhisola, have offered to help with the investigation. Until then, we will be increasing the number of guards in the halls as well as introduce several"

 

"Whatever it is, we will find it and we will stop it. Thank you for your time."

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Recreation Area (Cafeteria)

Sal walked into the room, stopping for a moment to blow a bubble and scan the area before grabbing a tray of food and taking a seat at a random table. She then proceeded to shovel it into her mouth with the grace of a Kane-Ra.

IC:Kuraz

 

"All the ones you'll see in the cafeteria plus the ones in solitary, yes, i don't know, a toxin released by the dark hunters. Any other question?" As she walked into the cafeteria she heard Nyhe's speech. That didn't sound convincing.

 

IC: Nakton

 

Actual food. it has been long since the last time he ate actual food. . Just a few more trays and he would have a pile big enough to reach the vent. And then he would be free of this place, free to eat all the actual food he wanted. But for now he would have to conform with this. Nakton saw his "food" being delivered through the hole on the wall. "Don't chew it, just swallow. That way it doesn't taste too bad." If he could only believe that himself.

"I don't feel particularly hungry..."

IC: Kovika - Recreational Area

Kovika, hearing his sister's response, analyzed what he had just heard. The Dark Hunters released a toxin? When had this happened? Answers imploring his curiosity, he asked his sister again, lowering his voice this time. "Is there any plan of escape?"

IC: Gida

Having heard the announcement, Gida headed down for food. She sat as far as possible from the others, some in particular. She had to make sure the brawl earlier today had fully blown over. Anyway, she just hoped she could have a quiet meal for onc- So. Time to eat again, eh? They call this stuff FOOD? Hah. I've seen better food inside a-

Kuraz looked around to check if anyone within hearing range was paying attention. Then lowered her voice and said" I have no plan but if we want to escape we will need a team. The mercury toa from earlier could prove a usefull ally."

I decided I could handle one night without food...it really didn't sound appetizing. I decided to just sit in one corner and hug my legs.

Nakton finished eating his food. He put the tray on top of the others. The pile reached the size Nakton needed to reach for the vent. He got on top of it and pulled of the vent. Tonight he would have a better dinner. He used his akaku to see the nearby rooms. One if his neighbors was sitted at the corner of the room and the other one looked like he was eavesdropping. He recognized lana by the fact that her food was intact and his other neighbor's wasn't. "Hey Lana, wanna take a stroll?"

"Sounds like a fair plan", Kovika said, keeping his voice hushed, "Go get our brother, I'll look around for any other sane ones."

Was he asking me if I wanted to go on a stroll? "Sure...just as soon as I'm not stuck inside a cell." I replied a bit wryly.

IC: Scriva - Recreation Area.

 

Scriva continued her writing, making note of a small group of patients who seemed to be planning something. She made note of their faces, then turned the page and kept scribbling.

Kodrix sat crosslegged on the transport seat, doing a meditation exercise.

The being next to him was shoveling down her "food" at great speed...why, he had no idea - it was disgusting stuff. That would have been alright if it was nutritious, but it hardly seemed so.Obruent only ate it when he was starving, which was a lot of the time.

Still, it was funny seeing this toa act like an animal...very funny, actually...very funny. Ha. Amusement was a wonderful thing.

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Recreation Area (Cafeteria)

Sal glanced up for a moment as she continued eating, noticing that the gunmetal Toa next to her was silently watching her. She paid him no mind at first, eventually taking another look before realising that he continued to stare.

If this creeper was trying to push her buttons, he had succeeded.

The Vo-Toa continued to eat for a few moments longer before dropping her spork onto the tray and slamming her hands against the table, picking herself up to the point where she was looming over him menacingly and not giving two Karzes about who saw her doing it.

"Unless you're impartial to whether or not you keep your sight, I suggest that you divert your eyes elsewhere, you bloody little wanker," she growled, clenching her hands into fists in preparation for the inevitable conflict that usually followed one of her outbursts.
