Toa Cykron
So yeah, I finally found the garsh darned password for my old account, and I wanted to get creative again. Topic title says it. What do you guys like to read more?
McNugget
I prefer Comics personally.
Rahkshi Lalonde
i'd be up for a comedy if the writing and concept was fun, i do adore comics though the added visual element adds another layer that needs to meet everyone's tastes, (plus comics take 100 years more time than just writing does. :u)
Taria Pakari
Comics, though I don't read them as much as I used to. I honestly prefer making them than reading them though. :v

Ballom Nom Nom
Given that on BZP almost all comics are half-decade-old sprite rehashes, and almost all comedies are bad script-style affairs, I'm not a big fan of either. I'd welcome a good hand-drawn comic or prose comedy though. ~B~
The 1st Shadow
I'm perfectly fine with both. As evidenced by my sig, I write comedies and comics. ToaKapura1234
Well I can't speak for Comics because I was hardly ever there, but the Comedy Forum is deader than roadkill. 2 Quote Want to solve an exciting murder mystery? fishers64
I prefer Comedies. I tend to find some of them make more sense than Comics and are actually funny, whereas Comics doesn't really do either for me. Sumiki
I think it's easier to do a comedy well because there's not that visual element. Not to mention that the sprites give a sameness to most comic series, and that's hard to overcome without long-term commitment to storytelling (like Gavla's Comics). Of course, I assist in Comics so I'm always looking for more activity there. Edited July 25, 2015 by Sumiki Quote avatar by Lady Kopaka

That's why I brought back Photo-comics. Bypasses the monotony of sprites. Ta-metru_defender
Dude, I haven't lurked in either forum for years. But way back when I first started out on BZP I really got into Comedies and that's where I cut my teeth on creative stuff. Later I moved on to comics, though I was more a fan of animations (and that's what I made). I guess I'm up for either: whichever's more well written is where I'm at (GaliGee's comedies come to mind, for example). Toa Smoke Monster
I prefer Comedies over Comics, personally. Not that I don't enjoy looking into a Comic Topic every once in a while. But I liked reading the Comedy topics more. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.
Irrie
I've attempted to make a comic series thrice now and they've all suffered from the inescapable plague of boredom, so it's no question that I prefer to write comedies more than I do making comics. As for reading, I'd have to say that I prefer comics, particularly sprite ones. The reason being is that I have a certain nostalgia for these things. Around the year 2009 or so, I discovered the BZPower comic forum, and so I used to spend entire afternoons reading and laughing at the sprite comics that I found. (However it was only about a year ago that I actually got around to making an account here ). In short, I like to write comedies and read comics. believe victims
Whichever you choose, in order to make something worthwhile you will need to completely break the mold of what has been standard for over a decade in each forum. Do you have the sheer creative willpower to break those molds? Or will your works fall in line with the mass-produced content that currently reigns supreme?
You just lost the game
Well, if you're doing a hand-drawn comic I'd be interested in reading it.
Petewa
Either one, so long as it's well written. Look at anything I've ever done for a good example of what not to do. 4 Quote Mataru Nui, an Interactive Adventure
Trijhak
I prefer comedies, and that's an eight-year old bias speaking. Still do. Used to write a bunch of (bad) comedies and wrote a short one a few months ago. Quote On Bota Magna, everything is about to fall apart.
-Windrider-
Somehow, my tenure in Comics hasn't driven me crazy (probably because I was added there after the great downtime). I can't speak for the Comedies staff on that front, but I think the forum that was once Artwork III now has a special place in my heart. I haven't spent nearly as much time in (or on) the Comedies forum. I do enjoy reading comics, and I only regret that I haven't put in the effort to learn how to make them. I suppose I could draw some by hand...
Onuki
Having tried both, I prefer reading and writing comedies. Like Lalonde and Sumiki said, it's just easier to make something coherent and funny when you're not worrying about putting together a visual presentation, too. And sometimes, the comic turns out less funny than you thought it would after you've already put in all the work. Bionicle gives us a huge cast of characters whose general appearances we already know, so a well thought-out comedy can pretty easily tap into a visual understanding while conveying its humor through words. 2 Quote The Latest and Fakest in Bionicle News Wanted: Chronicler | Wedding Announced | Bohrok-Kal Miffed | Staring Contest Continues Hakuna Vakama | Rau Convention Held | Globe Circumnavigated | Carver Offers Advice | Parade Possible Onepu Characterized | Koli Ball Shortage | Le-Koro Discovered | Toa Don Disguises | Top Toa Tied | Ko-Koro Welcomes Tahnok Hakuna Vakama Animation | Macku Goes Missing | In the Ice | The 1000 Word 2001 Poem | Kopaka the Toa | Honest Bionicle Trailers! 25K Now!
Comedies. Of course, I'm biased due to my position as the worst head the CCC has ever had, but sometimes it's easier reading through bland and unfunny writing than sprite comics. 2 Quote http://vimeo.com/198967785 BZPRPG Profiles
