OOC: sorry! I thought that it was from Po.IC: The snipers were well fortified, and thus the flames, ice, and arrow were blocked from harming them. The fire hit first, and the walls behind which the snipers were was heated, but not melted. The snipers took careful aim, firing concise shots at the figures below. The first rounds they had let loose would most likely kill a few if they did not move, but there was no harm. The sniper with the beam gun angled it at Naho and around her;the toa mangai of water was a well known and well hated figure. And if she escaped? oh well, there were others near her who might.OOC: the snipers are well protected, enough so that snipers are needed to take them down. However, I do know a tactic you could use to make them extremely ineffective. I'll give a hint; it requires unity.

Naho might've been naive, but she wasn't stupid enough to be in the open unprotected.GM IC - Port GuardThe Skakdi took the hilt to his head and fell, unconscious. Both guards had been dispatched. However, three more ran out- a Toa and two Skakdi -and attacked Mar. The Toa blasted fire at him while the Skakdi, in conjunction, lashed out with air and ice.In short, Mar was in a tight spot.Even as this happened, however, reinforcement was headed towards them.

I'll bet you they'd kill every student in the country if they could... or, at least, those ones would. Creating a stone shield is major.Also, i assume the beam is some form of energy. IC: Miraul and team arrived at the Coliseum. Vilak pointed out a sign about a battle for Ga-Metru. Miraul nodded, and the team set out. ---Spotting a being farther back on the battlefield who appeared to be in charge, Miraul turned to his team, and pointed. They nodded, and Miraul and the others walked forward, Vilak already covering them with a wall of orange light that protected them from potential sniper fire."It's the commander, Miraul." Hikari confirmed what Miraul had suspected, her Psionics powers once again proving useful.Miraul turned to Naho, and said, "Miraul, Toa of Magnetism and squadron at your service. This is Vilak, Toa of Plasma, master of sword and sling, and this is Cy, Toa of Air and air combat specialist. This is Hikari, Toa of Psionics, with a Mask of Animation. I'm an archer, speed-fighter, and can use a Mask of Conjuring in the event we need something specific. My gauntlets also have some advanced sensors, thanks to my Nynrah Ghost design skills, which might come in handy. I suspect we will work best in coordination, since we've worked together in previous battles. Also, we can all fly by various means. Directive?"OOC:I think Hikari might be good at taking out the snipers. Mind control, you know.The rest of the team can cover her.

OOC: A longsword is a blade typically wielded in one hand, though when a shield or anything else to use in your off hand is present, it is advisable to use both hands to add to the power and precision to your normal swings, and provide extra reinforcement in case you're blocking. The length of a longsword caps off at approximately 40" for a human, though I imagine for creatures of Toa size and strength that length is fairly average.IC: Exathia / Battle of Fort In-The-Middle-of-Ga-Metru-What-Is-This-Forts-Name-Question-Mark-This-Gag-Is-Going-On-Too-LongThe snipers moving of the beam allowed Exathia to note where it was on the fort. Focusing on her elemental powers, she caused a sheathe of stone to stretch out over the entire area of the wall from where the sniper was firing his beam from. It wouldn't be much more than a minor inconvenience, but it would force him to relocate or take the time to destroy it, time spent not shooting anyone.OOC: What's the composition of the fortress wall?-Toa Levacius Zehvor

IC, Mar: Mar activated his Matatu and the three assailants back, hopefully distracting them. Then, while backing up, he used his power over sound to increase the sound around their ears to dangerous levels so that it would hopefully blow out their eardrums.

OOC: Lev, not exactly. Longswords were only used with one hand on horseback. When on foot, longswords were usually used with two hands. They're a bit too big for a one handed weapon. For instance, German unarmored longswordfighting, which is replicated to this day, was fought with a longsword used in both hands.IC: for the first time, the front portal opened. What came out, was not a nice sight. a full crew of pirates spilled out. They were mainly skakdi, although there were a few toa, several vortixx, and even a heavily armed matoran. Full thirty in number, the rapidly spread out, the skakdi pairing off and releasing elements and eyebeams alike. Unmoving in the doorway, Borak stood, watching the battle. Then he marched forward, slamming the doorway behind him. He activate his element warping power just as he advanced upon Mar: the two guards were on the ground, hands clasped to ears, screaming in agony. Smiling wider, Borak twirled his chainsaw sword and activated it.IC: the vahki was hardly harmed, instead it simply shrank to the size of a beetle-And a charging skakdi stepped on it, crushing it. A laser bolt flew from his eyes at Thirteen. Behind him, his partner fired a blast of air from his one handed mace.OOC: two skakdi heading at you.

OOC: What you're describing sounds closer to a hand-and-a-half sword, the name of which cannot be stated on this site. That term applies to the weapons which are designed for use in both hands, but can be employed in only one by a strong individual. The upper regions of a longswords length reflect this type of blade. Shorter examples of the blade would be preferably employed in only one hand, with a shield in the off.But I will admit I'd be better on the subject of the use of polearms than the sword. My favorite name is the fauchard, which provokes giggles from people for some reason I cannot figure out.But I would like to know if there was any stone employed in the construction of this fort.IC: Exathia / Battle of Fort Whatever"We shouldn't have come at them so blatantly.. or at the very least, with more troops." OOC: the illegitimate sword, and the longsword, are one and the same. Longsword, however, has been used to refer to other swords, from what I understand, just as a longsword is sometimes called mistakenly a broadsword. Let's just agree that modern English has been mistaking one sword for another a great deal. To quote wikipedia:

And Mar was closest. Also, yes, I know, I got into a week long debate with TPTI over that, when I tried to force punch his character.IC: a shield of shadow flew from Borak's hands, blocking most of the blow, and causing him only to reel back. He fired an eyebeam at the toa, seeking to drain his life. He advanced as well, swiftly, sweeping his sword in a cut at Mar's chest. "Pard!" he bellowed, irritated that his partner skakdi had not stuck with him. The skakdi in question began racing back, aiming to attack mar from behind.

Almost everyone, except for people who either care too much or are trying to get their PhD in swords (Can you? I don't think so...), just use the term for a one-handed sword with a blade longer than about 22".But can I know about the wall now? I'm not joking, I actually want to know what wall is made out of. That would be really useful. IC, Mar: Mar jumped out of the way to avoid the eyebeams. Then he raised his swords in a cross block (OOC: Actually, I don't know what the proper term is for it, but it's when one rasies both swords in an X shape) to stop Brokan's sword from stabbing him. He moved back a little and threw a telekenetic punch at Brokan's assistant, Pard. OOC: Thank god eyebeams can be dodged- I'm not about to make the same mistake that I made when one of my chars was fighting with one of KNI's chars in the BZPRPG. It got him killed. I'm gonna try to keep Mar alive as best as possible.

Your character should be out for at least a half hour of in game time. Furthermore, your character also has a pretty damaged shoulder from the organic matter-corroding beam he got hit with. I'm sorry, but I'm not counting your latest Tahukama post.Sam...

Weapons:

Borak wields a sword held with either one or two hands. Its blade, however, is toothed, and revolves like a chainsaw, allowing it to shear through most weapons.

I feel for your swords now. IC: The whirring sword of Borak was halted, partly; the force of the blow stopped as the blade hit just above the cross, edge slamming into Mar's left sword, and sheering right through the blade. Twirling the sword, he brought it down in a series of overhead diagonal strokes form left and right. Pard fell to the ground, momentarily stunned by the blow. In an instant the white skakdi was up again, the saber in his hand raised over his head as he charged. Closer, closer, while Borak attacked with unblockable strokes. Meanwhile, the crew formed a crescent, battering the greatly outnumbered toa with elemental blasts, eyebeams of different powers, and ranged weaponry of many kinds. Retreat at this point seemed the best option.

IC(Zadahk C862-A): Zadahk broke out of his icy shell and flew back into the sky above the battle-field. It saw the Dark Hunters overcoming the Toa and took action. With a suicidal charge, Zadahk swept at ground level towards the most thick spots of Dark Hunters, aiming for their torsos to knock them down or out just to give the Toa time to regroup or advance.

IC - (To Cinnamon Grochi):Against most species that would have been completely damaging. Even to the surprised skakdi, it was so as several were bawled over. However, one, swifter than the others, clung onto the flying vahki, leaping on its back and grabbing its head, trying to steer it.OOC: bucking bronco ftw!IC - (To Lev):A scream from behind alerted Borak, just in time. The hand of stone was almost upon him, and he barely swung his fist, sending a fist of shadow into the stone, and shattering it. This, however, only helped the retreat, as fragmented stone flew everywhere. One chunk clipped him in the side, and he fell to the ground, struggling to his feet again.

IC: Sontarok"Explosives? No. I don't think so." he yelled letting off the ice blast. He then used his mask to transport about 10 feet back from the Dark Hunters.

IC:In the back and forth of the attacks, the blast of ice was smashed by about a dozen different attacks;it did however succeed in negating those attacks. More replaced them however. A massive fireball, poorly aimed, slammed into the ground some twenty feet away from the two toa, then promptly exploded. Far enough away, it didn't harm them much, only sent them reeling rather. The dozen eyebeams of heat and laser that were flying at them were not so inaccurate, threatening to put an end to their valiant lives. Behind them, a blast of ice met Sontarok's own attack.OOC: please guys, you post so fast. ;.;IC: The skakdi, frustrated by his steering failing, resorted to the classic skakdi tactic; smash. He had a blunt thick ax with which he began to batter at the vahki's head and shoulders, ignoring the fact if the machine was destroyed, he too would die.

"And as was stated earlier by Dume, before he left, the tunnels are underneath numerous factories. Collapsing it would be difficult, if not outright impossible, to perform in a safe way without having control over the region first. Which means ousting or capturing the Dark Hunters there."-Toa Levacius Zehvor :Flagusa;

IC: Lhikan (Coliseum)The Toa Mangai of Fire was nodding his approval. The intellect of his troops never failed to reassure him. "Collapsing the tunnels is last resort, if the Protectorate can use them, we will." He made his way out of the Coliseum to the Ta-Metru Chute Station,only a short courtyard away. "We'll assemble at the Ta Metru station," He said, waving his team through, past the Chute Station guards. "On the other side, I'll need to collect a roster of names." He didn't mention that it was just in case not all of them made it back. OOC: Lhikan and Co. to Ta-Metru. Anyone who wants in on the mission, meet them there.

IC: Sontarok transported about 10 feet further back to avoid the attack. He then shot another blast of ice, this one smaller but more concentrated, at the center of the group.

IC: Korvus"So much for stealth..." Korvus muttered, leaping into battle with his swords drawn. Both became wreathed in plasma as he brought one down on Borak's sword. If the hit was successful, it would render the Skakdi's weapon useless.

IC, Mar: With Brokan distracted, Mar hastily retreated back to the group. Of course, he was annoyed that one of his swords was cut in half. He drew his dagger. "Naho! We have to retreat!" he said.

OOC: Zacax, no way is your character going to be able to pick up an ability in seconds like that. It takes a careful analysis and a bit of practice to get down an emulated ability. Allow me to demonstrate. IC - Naho - Port Strike"Exathia. We should move in now."She monitored the shield that had been protecting them for the last few minutes. She was, fortunately, familiar with it's design. She had collaborated with Lhikan quite enough times to pick up on a shielding technique. With the moments she had been given to take in the information, in addition to her skill in using the mask, the plan was just waiting to happen.She whispered the plan in her comrade's ear*, who smiled and nodded. If all went well, the port would be their's in a few seconds. As stated before, if it didn't...they would have other things to worry about. Drawing her sword, Naho charged."Let's do this."OOC: *Will PM Lev when I get back from the pool about this plan.

IC-Thirteen:C-013 didn't have time to perform a proper threat assessment of the Skakdi before it, only enough to follow a defensive maneuver pre-programmed for any energy blasts, rolling away from the laser, which continued on towards the Skakdi that had been standing behind Thirteen as he came up to look at both.>Threat Level: Two>Enemies: Two>Enemy Species: Skakdi>Recognized attacks: Laser vision, air blast.>Targetting...>Targeting complete.>Charging staffs, loading disk number: 327Thirteen fired his staffs at the Skakdi using the power of air, as his head turned, his mandibles clenching and sending an energized disk straight at the other, as his computer brain continued to whir.>Charge released, disk released.>Plotting escape vectors for Skakdi 1 and Skakdi 2.>Plotting escape vectors for C-013.>Vectors plotted, ready to proceed.
