  1. I went with Pohatu, Onua, Onua. Pohatu Mata just seemed to have a little more awkward design than the others. This first one was pretty close, though. Onua Nuva was definitely the weakest Nuva in my eyes due to his bizarre tiny arms. Finally, I could never really like Onua Mistika, because he looked nothing like Onua and his mask was extremely ugly. ~B~
  2. That's because it fringes on other subjects we're not allowed to discuss. Public ignorance of science is hardly something that we're not allowed to discuss. And the discussion here is solely about that and dinosaurs, so I don't see the relevance of that comment. ~B~
  3. Hoo boy, am I late to reply to this comment. And it may seem absurd to do so at this point, but I was cleaning up some things in this topic and realized I had missed replying earlier. Thanks very much for the comment, and I'm pleased that you consider the stories worth reading multiple times. I'll be trying to get the third story back up eventually, so look out for that soon! Thanks again! ~B~
  4. In the long term, the Toa outcompete them into extinction. That is, barring some gamechanging evolutionary adaptation on the part of the Glatorian, perhaps. ~B~
  5. What if we could instead have better writing so that we don't need to make up extra dimensions for the story to work? ~B~
  6. I sincerely endorse this idea. Seriously, even the three basic stones can't be bought, and that was in the first games! Plus anything that saves me from having to do Super Training is good as well. ~B~
  7. I presume a deity would not be overly inconvenienced by consumption of plastic. However, I'm curious as to why one would descend to this mortal plane for such a purpose. ~B~
  8. You have an interesting way of counting things if you get 41 for yes. It certainly looks to me like 31 saying yes at the moment, to 40 saying no. ~B~
  9. Well, the "from father to son" part suggests the Protector of Water is male, or else gender-neutral language like "from parent to child" would have been used. Which is a shame, because that would leave Gali as the only female character. And here we were hoping for better gender ratios... ~B~
  10. Because "the green" is an actual, real-world poetic term for plants that's been in use for centuries, whereas nobody ever refers to fire as "the red" in real life? Honestly this is a very silly question. To quote William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (circa 1595) "And I serve the fairy queen, To dew her orbs upon the green." "The Green" is also used extensively in the Swamp Thing series by DC Comics to refer to plantlife in an elemental/spiritual sense, so Greg certainly didn't invent that usage. I'm aware of the term's meaning in general, but I think using it for the Bionicle element is ridiculous when all of the other elements have simple, direct terms, and The Green is as you said, a poetic term based on metaphor. It's entirely out of place in Bionicle. ~B~
  11. I'm pretty sure that second bullet is just about every action movie ever, so definitely a cliche after all. ~B~
  12. You could always swap the bins out for ones that are airtight when closed. That would prevent insects from reaching pieces stored in the bins. ~B~
  13. If this is true, at least it means we'll see people using Jungle as the name instead of the inane "The Green," which would be a welcome change. Honestly, I never could comprehend why that was used. People would laugh if I called Tahu a Toa of "The Red," so why does plantlife get saddled with "The Green"? ~B~
  14. Irnakk had a pretty large body cavity, but 30 sounds way too excessive for Zamors. I think 12 sounds about right, although it's been a long time since I've had my Irnakk assembled. Rooster Nui is correct that the set had no canisters; it was just all in one box and you didn't get the respective canister Piraka faceplates. ~B~
  15. Given that the majority of these species appear to come from random Dark Hunters that never appeared outside of that book, how about just throwing out pretty much all of those groups directly, and having most Dark Hunters be Skakdi, Vortixx, Steltians, and so on. That seems much simpler to me, although I agree a few existing Dark Hunters could be recategorized among some species we know. ~B~
  16. Interested read, although there was some sympathy pain to be had while reading it. Of course, Bionicle pieces for the most part have more forgiving surfaces than System bricks and their studs. CCBS even more so, with those extremely smooth shells and bones. ~B~
  17. I'm pretty sure April 1st is Wednesday, not Thursday. But as for shenanigans, who knows? The staff usually manages to surprise us, sometimes with nothing happening at all! ~B~
  18. I've thought along those lines for years now. That would also have the benefit of making the word "Theories" in the name not be misused in the way it currently is. Someone post the poll to make this happen! ~B~
  19. There sure is! My Settings > Ignore Preferences > Add a new user to my list And then after you add them check the box for hiding posts. ~B~
  20. As the Toa Mata were the first Toa of Mata Nui, the Toa Okoto are the first Toa of their island. ~B~
  21. For music, I'll just mention my favorites for ORAS: Vs Zinnia, Vs Primal Reversion, Vs Maxie/Archie, Sea Mauville, Oceanic Museum. There are plenty of others that are great, though. The soundtrack for ORAS is spectacular overall. As for Pokemon in general, I'd say that my favorite type would probably be Ice. It seems to have a ton of awesome designs, and they're fun to battle with too. ~B~
  22. Yeah, I agree. The S&T crowd loves to do in the wizard through ridiculous pseudo-scientific explanations, and frankly this is the type of thing that absolutely doesn't need it. He has this mysterious ability. You don't try to explain it, just accept the mystery as being the point and move on. Does "there's a glitch that lets Kapura manipulate space and time" actually strike anyone as a fulfilling explanation? ~B~
  23. Overall, a great assortment of finalists here, representing quite a few different years of Bionicle. My vote went to Dume and Nivawk, although Matoro and the Nui Jaga are excellent entries as well. ~B~
  24. Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that. It was the LDG and BBC voting that counted, I believe. Come to think of it, why don't we switch back to contest polls counting for post count? There are few enough contest polls as it is nowadays, and it would make sense given G&T posts now counting. ~B~
  25. Altaria is pretty awesome, even more so now that it can Mega evolve. Plus, lots of dragons don't make sense. Flygon is an insect, Haxorus is just a big lizard, and Goomy is a pile of goo. As for me, if I had to pick a least favorite from each Gen, hmm... Gen 1: Mr. Mime, maybe. Few in Gen 1 that I actively dislike. Gen 2: Snubbull Gen 3: Volbeat/Illumise Gen 4: I generally don't actively dislike too many here. Maybe Pachirisu. Gen 5: PATRAT! Single most hideous and awful Pokemon ever. And it's evo is barely any better. Also Dewott is inexplicably hideous for Oshawott being okay and Samurott being pretty cool. Timburr and Gurdurr are pretty dumb too, with only Conkeldurr being redeemed. Yeah, I was more polarized in my view of Gen 5 Pokes... Gen 6: Diggersby looks hideous. Pancham looks awful too. Somebody needs to wipe the smirk off that stupid panda's face. ~B~
