Sorry, Six, but there's no possible way "Girl in the Fireplace" topped the Daleks trash-talking the Cybermen in "Doomsday." The Cybermen episodes pretty much made that season, IMO. Otherwise, Series 2 was kind of mediocre.

Thanks! And I saw that yesterday...
That's because you visit all the same geek sites my husband does.

*Like*
That's really cool, AT.
I like when people do more creative things with pumpkins than just carve faces in them.
My husband sent me this image today. Here it is lit up.

Candy corn! Bonus round! I'm liking this game more and more all the time.

I've been looking over the clues. Take a look at these two images. The stone has the same symbol as the bathtub. Anyone want to chance dropping the stone into the tub of goop to see what will happen? We will most likely lose the stone. Even if nothing happens, Marie is unlikely to want to reach into the razorblades and pick it up again.
Though on second thought, I think that same symbol is in the crude drawing in the sitting room. If so, and even though I don't think it'll do any good, but we might want to try pressing the stone to that before we lose it in the goop, assuming little Marie can reach it. (I suggested getting the piano stool over in the topic.)

They can also fly and shoot laser out of their eyes, don't forget that

I haven't read your story so I can't suggest anything specific. But in general, when I get bored with a story (aka "writers block"), it happens because I either don't have a clear plan of where I'm going with the story and am, therefore, not excited about writing it, or I'm so clear on where I'm going, I feel as if it's already written so why bother.
You need to stir up some excitement. If you know where you're going already, try surprising yourself. Throw in something unexpected. Blow something up, introduce a new character, give your character a sudden craving for chocolate chip cookies, anything unexpected, and see how he reacts.
But be careful. It's not unusual to throw in a new character to liven things up and have him dominate the story. I've heard of that happening a lot.

I'll watch because of my devotion to the series, but I expect to not be impressed too greatly. Who knows? It might be good, but I'd prefer they stick to the book.
It's my devotion to the book series that keeps me from watching the movie adaptations.

Should I mention that my 18 year-old daughter won't swallow an aspirin? She'd rather suffer the pain.

Do people actually like these, or is it just a wasted exercise? Let me know in the comments.
I like reading them. It helps that you have that nice big link in your sig to remind me when you're updated.

Got around to reading the first three books. For the most part I liked them. Haven't seen the movies yet.

Here are the ones I use, in addition to AdBlock and Personas:
ColorfulTabs: Colors every tab a different color and makes them easy to distinguish. You can specify colors, but I just use it as-is.
CoLT: Right click on a link and a menu comes up that lets you choose how you want to copy the link -- as HTML, Plain Text, BB Code, FuseTalk, or Wikipedia. I use the first three all the time.
CoolPreviews: Mouse over a link and a window pops up that shows you what the link links to. Makes my post approving job so much easier.
DownloadHelper: Helps you download music and videos.
I've had a few others from time to time, but these are the ones I use on a regular basis.

Well, seeing as Disney took many liberties with it and gave it more of a plot than either of the books had, we were hoping for one that lived up to Disney's standards and not the books'...
Turakii
Personally, I was hoping it would live up to the book's standards and that Disney wouldn't totally massacre it as it has other stories. The ending was a Disney ending, not the kind of ending Lewis Carroll might have written.
Another good ending that would have been in perfect keeping with the books would have been to borrow from "Through the Looking Glass." That book takes place on a chessboard, with Alice progressing from one row to the next until she reaches the final row and turns into a Queen (as a pawn does in an actual chess game). So...
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «The final battle takes place on a giant chessboard. Alice "crossed" the chessboard by slaying the Jabberwocky. The ending could have been foreshadowed that if she succeeded, she would become queen. IMO, that would have fit the books better and been a more satisfying ending than the unfitting and I think unbelievable one Disney chose. -
Spoiler tags, for the sake of those who may not have yet seen the movie:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «The ending was a letdown. As you said, it seemed to be building towards one thing, but then left us with something completely (and I think unrealistically) different. I was willing to stretch the limits of believability to accept Alice could live happily ever after with an insane maniac, but sending her off the China as an apprentice trade merchant was an ending I'm not sure even Jack Sparrow could have saved. -
Where's Team Rocket?

1. In order from latest to earliest, what are the 5 last albums you bought?
For myself, they would all be Newsboys albums from Amazon Marketplace. I'm still waiting to attain [ahem] In the Hands of God.
Oh wait, unless you count Hosanna Integrity. We've had a subscription for some 20 years and receive a new CD every other month. I think the last one was Robin Mark's Year of Grace.
2. What was the last concert you went to?
I guess that would be Denver & the Mile High Orchestra.
3. Put your MP3 player/iPod/media player on shuffle. What are the first 5 songs that come up?
Cryoshell - Closer to the Truth
Guardian - Even It Out
Third Day - Nothing At All
Vineyard - Blessed Be the Name of the Lord
Sam Phillips - Strawberry Road

You seem to have conveniently forgotten that you have a cousin named Scott who is not only a great athlete himself, but also coaches future athletes. And he's single. Shall I give your aunt a call?
-
Yeah, it's about the young James Kirk and Spock.

I grew up on the original series and have watched every episode of every subsequent series since. My favorite overall character is Elim Garak of DS9. Favorite race would be either the Cardassians or the Enterprise Andorians, mostly because of Jeffrey Combs' performance as Shran. He was good in any Trek role they gave him.

If only. ;.;

I wonder if you might consider slowing the frame rate down on the banner. It's hard to read that fast.

I'm holding off on my comment until after the elaboration.

We've got a lot of staff members who have been on staff for years and still nobody knows who they are.
Congrats on the promotion.
