So yeah if you're an active Homestuck reader you shouldn't be reading this if you aren't up to date =About 2 hours of sporadic work So this is an attempt at making a portrait of the most recently revealed Homestuck character. Just in case you couldn't tell, this being is female and no she is not a zombie or a ghoul or whatever, she's a really nice character and has all of my sympathy Any thoughts are appreciated.

With a few simple background edits, this could be suitable for any shirt colour of shirt, but I think dark ones would be preferrable. Specifically, black and blue ones. Do note that this is mostly just a design concept sketch, so if the rules agree I may do a cleaner version if this actually gets somewhere in the contest.

I think the warm weather is great, really. I was out jogging earlier today and it was rather enjoyable compared to the cold winter months. At least it was until my skin started melting.

That's odd, people here always seem to say "Black Six is out to get everyone!" But alas, I suppose they're too busy being paranoid to see the big picture - or perhaps their attempts to make B6 the antagonist is all part of the scheme? The plot thickens.

Honestly, this was a pretty fair hiatus, considering how long we had to wait for Cascade.

Have you listened to any of the albums? If not, I highly recommend it. I think they're brilliant myself. Also, you should totally try to make one of the Condesce's drones in MOC form.

@Xae: It was actually marketed as a steampunk watch, but I suppose it's closer to certain Victorian watch designs. Which is pretty much what steampunk is based upon, I guess? I don't really know. And whoa where did all you people come from. But uh yeah, I decided the Necronomicon was a fitting background, lol.

When the watch is opened, that lens can be used as a magnifying glass. The entire thing is really brilliant, and a significant improvement to the ugly plastic thing I've been using the past few years. I think we can all agree that steampunk is pretty much the best thing.

There is a matter I would like to address here. I cannot help but notice the resemblance between this drawing and this oneof Brickeens' BZPRPG character which I drew for his birthday back in February. Personally I feel that certain features, such as the collar, aspects of the mask, the chest and lower torso armour, the segmented leg plates, and the placement of certain bolts/spherical decorations/whatever - not to mention the general aesthetic of the body structure - are more similar to my design than I am comfortable with.I'd rather find out whether you used that drawing as a template. It consists entirely of original designs and concepts - with possible exception of the Kanohi - thatbelong to either me or Brickeens. If they happen to be copied, then that's something I really am not okay with.

Okay, I figure it's about time I respond here :U I honestly didn't think much about atmosphere/suspense/whatever when making the comic. I'm happy that people feel that there is one anyway, lol.Also, Gorast's appearance/characteristic was loosely based upon that of Snowman from Homestuck, cigarette holder and all. Yeah, the classic noir style was exactly what I aimed for. I'm glad to hear that it worked, too. I was actually wondering whether people would like that theme at all, but I suppose they did! Lol yeah, they're rare, but they do exist.The lettering in general was probably one of my biggest mistakes with this comic... In hindsight, I really should'vedone them by hand. A lesson learned for the next time I'm making a comic, I guess. I listened to that the other day. I don't think I've been that flattered in my entire life, lol.
