IC: Peter

Useless.

Do your duty.

Don't bother. You're useless.

At least clean up the vines.

...

...

Peter soon reappeared st the scene. Walking into the room, he grabbed a vine and triggered his power, carrying it out of the room.

I should quit.

You have no papers, no ID. Where else will you get a job?

They're gonna fire me anyways.

... You might be right.

He was hardly listening to Alec. Slowly, still angrily blinking tears out of his eyes, he took the book in careful hands and traced the letters on the cover with an index finger, sounded out the characters silently on his lips. His eyes found the sword again, and he had to blink away more tears.

"Here," he said softly, putting a careful arm around the old man's shoulders and taking the case in two fingers on the other hand. "Let me help you...find somewhere to sit. And talk. Are you hungry...? I'm famished."

"If he doesn't wish to join you, I suppose I could, if only because I know it'd put Dallas back on his usual cloud nine if I were to play this game of yours," Morrison said, shrugging. "If it's all well and good, though, I do believe Dallas is safe to stand and walk, so how about we make our way down to the medical center so that he can get checked up on, and then all make our way to his room?"

Meanwhile, while he was speaking to the others, Dallas stood, and Morrison resisted the urge to outwardly sigh.

He's always doing what I want him to do when I'm not paying attention to him doing it.

IC (Swordsmith & Li)

The elderly man nodded once, the shaking slowly subsiding. "World....needs more artists." Li, for her part, stood still, not daring to interfere. She didn't entirely understand what was going on, but she sensed it was something a soldier like herself had little part in.

"Drive!" Rebekah Fell practically barked into the front seat, shoving Dallas down low in the back seat as another bullet pinged off of the car's frame. Normally even she wouldn't be so harsh, or so brisk, but these were exceptional circumstances. Her eyes glared through the window panes as she tried to stay low herself, noting the opposition in the distance. Her mind worked overtime to come up with a response, even as she worked to get her own body under control-

bahbumbahbumbahbumbahbumbahbum

Her heart rate was sky high. Between her movements after leaving Dunkin Donuts and the dead sprint towards the car, Dallas in tow, her heart was working overtime to keep up. Almost unconsciously she counted the beats. She didn't have to pay any special attention, or try to listen for it; she could hear it like a frantic drumbeat in her ears. Her breaths were similarly quick, though between her own efforts and the din of the situation it went mostly unnoticed.

She brought her pistol up, firing off a few shots specifically aimed to ping off the pavement near them instead of hitting. The tactic made them scatter for cover, forcing them to cease their fire for a moment.

Breathe.

“I love to shoot zombies, unless it’s the Telltales series, those zombies can be scary.”

“That was fast,” Christine observed Kitty.

IC: Nicole

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. So many stupid girls believed that. Maybe for a time even Nicole had believed that. It was easy to look at the pretty parts of life while ignoring the bad. That’s what Nicole had done for most of her life. Raised by President Binder she’d been spoiled, she’d been alone, to do whatever she wanted.

Not only that, but her powers had developed at a bad time, she suddenly had the ability to bend people around her finger. She’d liked the control, she’d become used to it. Then her life had been shattered for the first time as the Brotherhood had captured her to try to make a statement. Nicole would have been martyred if it wasn’t for some of the same people that now stood around her; some of the same people that had just tried to kill her.

I deserved it. These people, Dallas had saved her. He had been good to her, and what had she done in return? She’d hurt him. Badly and twice, her obsession with him had become dangerous after a certain time and she knew it. She had fangirled Dallas as if he’d been a celebrity. He’d saved her, he’d been her hero. Then she had tried to twist him onto her finger, and it hadn’t worked and she’d hurt him. She’d caused him too much pain. Maybe it would have been better if they hadn’t saved her, if they had let Pietro slit her throat in front of national television.

She’d felt like she was about to see her father again; her dad, the one rock in her life; the man who had been killed by the Brotherhood. She’d felt herself cracking under Ashley’s vines, as if she had been about to be shattered. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

She’d been about to be shattered, diamond was the only thing that had kept her alive, but just barely. Another slam and she’d been turned into so much glittering dust. Maybe Ashley should have done it. She thought about how she’d tried to kidnap Dallas once and get them both to join Hellfire so they could be together.

“Someone please take me out of here,” Nicole said suddenly. “Detain me somewhere downstairs, I don’t care what you do with me, just please get me away from Dallas.” Her lips trembled.

“She’s right, he should have to see me ever again. I don’t want him to see me ever again, I don’t deserve it… I didn’t deserved to be saved… I didn’t deserve to be saved back then. Please, take me away.”

IC: Ashley (Ult.)

I'm assuming all that racket is you guys escaping, so I'm just gonna get the out of here. It really smells.

The sewers weren't somewhere Ashley felt like lingering longer than she had to, the vine that had been 'attacking' the police suddenly limped over, as if it was dead.

--and a drop of blood broke on his cheek.

"Bekah, you have to quit saving my life someday, girlfriend." Dallas grinned, almost shyly, and tapped one pale cheek. "One day you're gonna leave me feeling less grateful and more emasculated."

IC (Legionnaire Li)

A determined, hard expression on her face, Li strode forward silently. With a rough pull, she yanked Nicole to her feet and hustled her out of the room. There had be a closet. Some storage place. Someplace she could put the girl. She would cause no more harm to Mr. Green. She would see to that. She had seen enough. Heard enough. Dallas Green had gone through things that would have broken most people. Perhaps even Li herself.

But he had pulled himself from his pain to comfort an old man. She...had not quite believed her eyes. But there it was. She would not let his rapist drag him back down. Not while there was strength in her arms at least.

"I get around quickly." Kitty said offhandedly, before looking at Nichole. What to do with her?

Well it seemed one of their visitors had already decided to do something, she supposed that worked for now.

"Christine, why don't you help our guest find someplace to put Nicole, till we figure out what to do with her."

Breathe.

"When you stop needing to be saved, I'll stop." She permitted the sidearm in her hand to disappear back into the ether, the purple light lingering for a moment around her hand before dissipating itself. Subtly, attempting to disguise the motion, she put two fingers to the underside of her wrist and counted the beats silently. Within safe ranges again, even if it was pushing the upper limits.

"Until then, the opinion of the rescued is not sufficient cause to stop."

Christine nodded, since the guard had no way of getting out of the hallway with Aleks walls in place. She turned to Aleks before holstering the gun he'd handed her.

"Ah'll be right back," she smiled. "Don't go nowhere tiger." she then leaned in and lightly pecked Aleks on the cheek, absorbing his powers in an instant. She then turned, flicked her fingers, lowering part of the wall for Li and her to pass.

"Alright sweetheart, let's find a place to put little Nikki."

IC:

Johnathan made it upstairs undisturbed. He lightly kicked open the door with a foot before clicking the lights on with metal fingers. He walked over to the table and slapped down the pizza before placing the beer on the table as well and checking them.

"Good still cold." he said before he grabbed a seat. He then plugged in head-phones and began to play the song Wolf by Tyler while he waited for the others.

"We could lock her in her dorm," Christine said. "Ah just don't want her doing something stupid like trying to get out, or hurting herself. We can't really watch her very well in her dorm." Christine said.

"The best place would be one of the cell's down on our basement level. Please don't ask why a school would have one, I also must insist if I take you down there that you kindly forget whatever you see."

IC:

Quinn walked over to Kitty Pryde. "Hi uh, Mrs. Pryde is it? I'm Quinn, a new transfer here at the school. Today actually was my first day when I ran into this, never made it to class. I just wanted to introduce myself so you knew who I was and that I'd be staying here. I read online something about Warren, and that my transfer was approved, but I haven't seen him around so far."

"An excellent idea." Hm. So there were secrets hidden down there. That...was not expected. What kind of school, precisely, was this? Li thought back to recent events and realized she knew exactly what kind of school this was. The dangerous kind. This report was just going to write itself, sadly enough. This was hardly a place for children, for youth, to learn in. At all. "I'll defer to your judgement."

"Thank you for the suggestion, Ms. Marie. However, I believe my office will suffice for the moment."

Rachel Thomas appeared with her characteristic briskness, brown eyes steady behind her glasses. Placing a hand on Nicole's shoulder, she turned her impassive gaze on Li.

"I'll thank you to unhand my student," she said, though not unkindly. "Regardless of circumstance, you hold no authority within this institution."

Christine looked up at Dr. Thomas. "Dr. Thomas," she nodded. "Alright, your office sounds good... sorry if my idea was a bit harsh." Christine said, thinking it would be better to place her in the office instead. It probably wasn't best to show this stranger downstairs.

"You can give her to Dr. Thomas, she works here and is trustworthy." Christine told Li.

IC:

"Ah, okay." Quinn said. "Its fine really, I thought it was entertaining up to a certain point. In fact this all might have been my fault... I was asking Dallas about Nicole, when, I think Ashley overheard. I didn't mean to cause any trouble. Um, when this is all done you think you could show me to my dorm? Or something at least." it seemed as if classes for the day were probably done.

IC (le doc)

Rachel's brow wrinkled with the suggestion of a frown. The hierarchy of the Institute was a complicated thing, and had grown increasingly muddled ever since Headmaster McCoy's death. Though the counselor usually preferred to defer to the more experienced faculty (such as Ms Pryde), she was hesitant to allow a complete stranger to take custody of a student, even on their word.

Christine's vote of confidence would do little to dissuade the stranger: Rachel could see it in her eyes.

"Very well," she said. "You may escort Ms Binder and myself to my office. Come along.

"And Ms Marie," she added over her shoulder. "You may return to your dormitory."

"Yes m'am. Sorry for the confusion m'am." Li saluted again. She didn't bear the doctor any real ill will, she was simply trying to do her job. Li could identify with that. If it had been anything less then sexual assault and what seemed to be attempted murder if the brawl was anything to go by, she'd have deferred to her immediately. "I'll try to stay out of the way." Li's tone was touch softer now, losing some of it's flatness.

"Okay, thank you Rachel." Christine smiled at Dr. Thomas. She then turned and left the two woman alone with Nicole. She walked back to the fortified wall Aleks had made before melting a large portion with a simple palm touch, she then stepped back inside the fortified chamber.

"Well we have Nicole is now with Rachel Tomas and Li and it looks like Dallas is ready as well, should we all head to where you wanted to do questioning?" Christine asked Kitty.

Nicole kept her head down and walked as if she was a zombie with Li and Rachel.

"Bored, bored, bored, bored." Kane muttered as he stared up at the sun, laying in the Brotherhood camp. Little did he know but he was being watched...

Maverick sat within a taxi cab, focusing a pair of binoculars while he watched his tattooed Brotherhood target. That's got to be him... the ones these... Weapon-X enthusiasts want dead, must be an ex Weapon or something... Maverick thought. Now he had to just get Kane Johnson alone.

Jennifer's vehicle docked on the Hellicarrier. She opened the hatch and allowed her and Terrance free. "Follow me, and stay close." Jennifer said as she began to stride across the deck, heading for the bridge where they would hopefully find Fury.

"Alright." Terrance nodded.

IC: (Ultimate Ashlynn, Vampirey Bat-people Apartment?)

Ashlynn moved down a hallway in her new apartment. It hadn't taken long to check out of her hotel and purchase a small apartment in the complex. She hadn't moved anything in yet, but it seemed like she would be happy here and the apartments were fairly cheap. As she moved down the hallway, dragging a roller-backpack along with her she suddenly stopped... she could sense other vampires near by.

"Now this seems interesting..." Ashlynn muttered.

James locked lips with Jenna with not a small amount of surprise, holding her for a second before letting her go.

"She's... Told you stories about me?"

IC (Leon)

All Leon could do was nod in mute horror. Trying to force the extremely explicit descriptions of James she'd spent hours enunciating on in loving detail from his mind. Of all the things he had not wanted to bare witness too, this topped the list. Without a doubt. He wanted to run. He needed to run. But he couldn't. Like a deer in the headlights of onrushing traffic, he was stuck firmly to the ground. Unable to prevent his doom.

IC: U! Julia

Julia and Kristen backtracked until they found the bike, Julia remaining silent if it could be helped, and headed back to the institute. Once they got there, Julia walked the bike into the garage.

"Ohmygod."

Julia pored over the new bike, her eyes tracing its elegant curves and stopping at the small note taped to the frame.

For Jules. From John.

She pulled out her phone and dialed John's number.
