IC: Krayn

"I think that taking him in might be more than we can manage." Krayn said, in an analytical tone. "For one thing, he is a Toa of Plantlife. And we're on the edge of a jungle."

"Second, Darylhii is, or rather was, arguably the most skilled guard in the past century. Perfect efficiency. To the best of my knowledge, there was never one criminal to escape him.""He taught Naona everything she knows. And he was, once upon a time, the model to which I aspired to be. We have four guards. One semi catatonic. One outmatched in every way. One too angry to fight efficiently. Even if we could win, it would be a pyrrhic vi-"

Instinctively, Krayn grabbed his sword, drawing and slashing in one smooth motion, severing the tips of the vines. "Well. It would seem we don't have a choice."

Flower petals seems to appear from nowhere and directly in front of Darylhii, obscuring his field of vision, swirling around him. She dodged the vine if just barely and rolled out of the way.

"You're going to have try harder Darylhii." She hissed. "Funny thing is Krayn, I'm a Toa of the Green too, and I was raised in Po-Koro, had to strain to use my powers, got used to working under conditions with very little to work with. What do you think happens now when I have so many options available?"

IC: Dehkaz

The Toa of Magnetism's reaction was quite, effective, and accurate. Dehkaz raised his outstretched hand, focusing his elemental power. While magnetism could do little against plantlife, it could do quite a bit to armor. Focusing his power, He shaped a quickly made magnetic field around Daryhlii, one that would force him in a downward direction towards the ground. At this point, Dehkaz didn't care if anything broke on the way down, so it wouldn't be a slow ride.

IC: Krayn

In a single instant, Krayn sprung into action.

The effect was not dissimilar to that of a coiled spring releasing its tension, or a viper lunging toward its target. As the stakes grew near, Krayn's Sanok activated.

What many people overlooked, or simply didn't know, is that the mask of accuracy works by informing the wearer of exactly where to aim to reach the desired point. Most people simply used it fir attacks, but it had another use. An instant before the stake would have stabbed him, Krayn shifted into one of the only blind points in the attack, the flat of his sword catching one of the other spikes just before impact.

Taking advantage of the Ve-Toa's momentary lack of sight, the De-Toa jumped, using the stake as a springboard, and vaulting up and over the bamboo wall.

"While I appreciate you comparing me to my role model. I-argh!" Hari growled as one of the stakes that she tried to dodge scrapped her, causing her to bleed a little. She growled and pushed forward. Darylhii had a better advantage using his plants to keep her at bay. So she was going to close the distance. "You can't escape justice Darylhii. Not this time." The flowers and leaves turned razor sharp, cutting at Darylhii as they twirled around him.

"You may have to define 'careful' for me, I'm not sure if I completely understand what it means." I said in a ironic and deadpan manner. I was trying my best not to think about Onuzek, but I couldn't get him out of my head, if only I had noticed his infected mask sooner...then maybe I could of freed him from it...maybe I could have saved him...instead he was dead. I stared at my fingers, which still looked very raw and somewhat stained with my blood. Though I remembered that Kunitu was right there and quickly hid them from view. Part of me wanted to talk about what had happened, to get it off my chest, but that the same time I didn't.

It was a rather bleak situation for the Toa of the Green, especially when he was being weighed down by the magnetic force acting on his armour, along with the combined attacks of his student's two friends. However, the solution to such a problem was simple for him, and et the spiky wall to shift into the way of the petals and leaves, and in proxy, Hari, all while thrusting his spear towards Krayn's descending form.

As he fell, Krayn drew his sword up and across his body, bringing it into contact with the thrusting spear, and deflecting it up and to the left. The weapon missed his shoulder by mere inches, even as Krayn landed on his feet.

Taking advantage of the brief opening, he swung his foot toward Darylhii's ribs.

The spear was brought down with remarkable speed, parrying the kick. It was rather eerie really, facing off against someone who fought like Naona, if she was male, bigger and slightly slower.

"Trouble finds me, more often than I'd like..." I didn't even sound like I was joking this time. Now that I actual had time to think about everything that I had happened my emotions became harder and harder to keep bottled up. "I...I lost a friend..." I finally spat out, by the look of it Kunitu knew something was eating at me, she knew me too well. For some reason I tended to spill my guts around her. "It's like Tamaru and Jaron all over again..." I said in a now quivering voice.

The hug was all it took for me to completely break down into a sob, I wanted to blame my new hormones personally. I cried into Kunitu's shoulder for a good while before I calmed down a bit and was able to speak again. "His name was Onuzek..." I wasn't sure if Kunitu knew about Onuzek or not, he certainly was a hard Toa to forget if you ever saw him. "He greeted me like he always did, well, after I explained to him why I a girl, very cheerful and friendly." The next part of the story was gonna be more difficult to talk about without going back into tears, but I gave it my best anyway. "Though it was just a trick, the mask he was wearing, was infected with Makuta's taint...he got the jump on me and hauled me off into some dark cave and left me there for I don't even know how long..." I shuttered from the memory of that place, so dark, cold, and very enclosed, Kunitu knew all too well I was a bit claustrophobic. I looked at my fingertips again, thinking about how I had tried to claw through solid rock, I still felt very stupid for making the attempt. "...thankfully a Toa eventually found the cave and got me out of there, the one you saw me standing with outside." I said, meaning Fehlan of course. "He fought Onuzek in order to get me out of there but..." I didn't even have to say it, nor did I want to, Onuzek had died in the battle, and I had been completely helpless and unable to do anything. This was what frustrated me the most. "It's not fair...I should of found a way to save him...i should have..." I was starting to cry again, tears running down my mask. I found it embarrassing and hated every minute of it, but I couldn't stop myself.

Kehaga during all this had decided the whole thing had been a bit too awkward for him and waited outside the HQ.

The Le-Matoran was sitting perched ontop of a tree that had broken after a lightning-strike, bridging the murky water between the solid ground the group was on and the small island. Most of its mighty trunk having sunk into the soft ground of the swamp on the other side, where the wood had been dissolved. Nature at work. Moss and other growths had claimed the new territory and the top of the stump growing out of the murky water. Leah looked around from her vantage-point. This was indeed a dark place. It always had been. She thoughts back to the periodic travels in the service of the Gukko-Force that had led her this way. Even without the Makuta's presence, this swampy part of the jungle gave her the creeps.

She studied the trees more closely, looking for any cluse where they might need to go, until she noticed the slashes and cuts in the wood. She looked down at her feet, comparing the breaking-edge of the wood hit by lightning against what she saw. No, those trees on the other side definitely had been marked in some way. Now the question was, what did the cuts mean? Were they directions? A riddle? Part of a map? A symbol?

Symbol...of course. she thought, almost calling out in her excitement. She thought back to the other locations, the letters. The riddles in the other hiding-places had been...not easy, far from it in fact. But in hindsight, the answers to them had become obvious, you just had to look at them in a certain way.

That was it. Leah snapped her fingers loudly. She looked at the marked trees again, squinting her eyes until her vision blurred and her depth-perception was at a minimum and the cuts in the trees merged into one symbol.

:l:

"Reordin! Sulov, Lepidran! Over here!" she called her companions. The other Matoran came hurrying to her position, as fast as the treacherous terrain of the swamp permitted. Once they arrived at the broken tree, Leah stood up, pointing at the island. "It's over there." she said. "The symbol is in the trees." The others looked and after a few seconds, they saw it too. Since she was already up on the tree, Leah climbed from the stump onto the fallen trunk and crossed the stale water surrounding the small Island.

Once on the other side, she started to look around for possible hiding places. She doubted Takua would have been satisfied with merely leaving the essence stone of the Toa of air right in the middle of the island. Perhaps he had burried it in the soft ground, under a stone maybe. Leah hoped that wasn't the case. There was a hint of the decay in the air, which came from plant-matter being decomposed under their very feet. Digging into that was not something she ranked high on her list of fun activities. Perhaps Takua had cleverly hidden it in one of the gnarled trees growing here. Their old and withered and sometimes rotten forms provided enough gaps and holes that could be used to hide an essence stone.

By now the others had crossed over onto the island as well.

Agni nodded at what Tuara said. "Agreed. If we hurry, we can make it to the village of ice by nightfall. Normally it would be faster to take the cablecar, but since that is out..." he shrugged. "There is a path however. Hewn into the ice itself, goes back and forth, all the way up to the drifts. We'll take that."

He started to follow Joske, who knew the path as well and followed the younger Toa of fire. "Good work back in Le-Koro, kid." Agni said to him. "That was some quick thinking."

He patted him on the back. "Come on, let's go get the next one."

Hari summoned her own vines, a wall of them, just thick enough to barely save her from the fate of being impaled by multiple stakes, she dropped her focus on both the rose petals and vines she created as she refocused herself. Her turquoise eyes found their target, Darylhii. Krayn had already closed the distance and she would too, the Toa of Plant Life dashed in the direction of the Toa of the Green. She pulled her knife from her sheath, intent on striking Darylhii with a diagonal slash.

IC: KehuriHe had to admit, he was inexperienced. Not only that, he was out of shape and had bad reaction time as well. Fighting defensively was all he could manage now. Grabbing the drill from his belt, he slipped it over his right forearm. At the press of a button the drill extended, split, and unfolded into a shield. Armed thus, he stepped in behind the two good fighters and held up the shield, defending those that hung back from any potential long-ranged attacks. He didn't know this Toa, but based on his haphazard fighting, he decided it would be best to expect the unexpected.

"We should get moving again." Kehua said, standing near the edge of the central platform. Aparangi was nearby, arms crossed and watching the gathered Matoran slowly lose interest and go back to their daily business. The leader of the Aitua nodded slowly.

"Yes, we should." he said, as he turned and walked past his brother, who towered over him in his massive armour. The two Aitua had come here to investigate the source of the sudden gathering and a loud noise that had scared many of the villagers. As it turned out, the source had been a group of fire-Toa. One of them apparently had had some sort of mishap. But before anybody could find out more, the Toa had vanished in a flash of fire and a cloud of smoke. Theatricality and deception. They certainly knew how to make a getaway. Aparangi would have liked to know more, but he had to stop himself. One island-wide conspiracy was enough to deal with for now. Speaking of which, Kehua was right. He and his team and their allies really needed to get moving again. The other Aitua, as well as Ravage and Draeverian, were still back at the Le-Koro guards headquarter. They had not slept since the meeting the previous night, but instead discussed their plans. Their next goal was Ko-Koro, where they would need to speak with Matoro, the Turaga's right-hand man and one of a select few that Aparangi trusted were not in some way involved in the schemes hatched in the shadows of the Island. No. The Turagas aides were a group of Matoran tied to their villages by a stronger bond of loyalty than just that of a guard.

The right words, a few widgets and maybe a backhanded threat would be enough to buy off most guardsmen, even if it took a while. But these six were rock-solid in their loyalty and faith in the virtues. So Aparangi had decided they would be their contacts. He and Kehua walked back through the village until they returned to the large building housing the Gukko-Force and its flying steeds. They entered back through the double-doors. Inside however, none of their friends were to be seen.

"Toa Aparangi, good of you to return-come, your team-friends are near-waiting." a voice suddenly said. A Matoran guard was standing before them, motioning with his hand for them to follow. Kehua and Aparangi exchanged a look, then both shrugged and followed the quirky guard through the headquarter and into the hangar, where the rest of the group was waiting, their black, tall figures easily spottable among the green bodies of the guardsmen working here. As the two approached, they noticed Rewera was speaking with another guard, who had a lieutenants insignia on his shoulder.

The others looked at them when they rejoined the group. "What's going on?" Aparangi asked. Rewera nodded at the Matoran. "We just secured passage to Ko-Koro by air." she said The Matoran nodded, holding out a hand for Aparangi to shake, which the Toa reluctantly did. "I am First Lieutenant Kama. Your sister told me you intend to travel to Ko-Koro and that you need to get there fast. I can help you with both. Ko-Koro is only a short distance away, after all."

Aparangi could tell where this was going and his expression lightened at the thought. Kama continued. "I can give you enough Kahu for your trip up to the glacier. Once you are there, just land and set the birds free, they will come back here by themselves."

The leader of the Aitua bowed his head slightly. "We thank you for your assistance. I had not expected such help, but it is most welcome." Kama nodded, then pointed them at a group of saddled Kahu sitting on the launchpad, before returning to his duties. The Aitua walked to the birds. Tupua glanced at Aparangi.

"What?"

The necromancer continued his stoic look. "I just wonder why you did not think of this in the first place." he said, his voice flat. Aparangi just glared at him. They reached the Gukko and took their seats, two Toa per bird, except Kehua, who rode alone. Despite the increased weight, the Kahu gracefully lifted themselves and their passengers into the afternoon-skies and turned north, heading towards the mountains.

OOC: Aitua, Ravage and Draeverian to Ko-Wahi.

---------------------------------------------------

"Wait up!" Verdi called behind Sisk, Lashev and Lans following him up the stairs as well. Sisk entered through the door of the Headquarter and turned in the direction of the prison-area. He waited until the others caught up with him and together they passed through the guards checkpoint and into the secure tract of the headquarter. Sisk inquired in wich cell the last Toa of the Xa-Koronan assault was kept and a Toa of the guard escorted them there.

When they reached it, they found the Toa in question lying on hard bamboo-stretcher that served as a bed, staring into nowhere. He looked battered and bruised and his mask was missing.

Sisk stepped closer to the bars, but stayed out of arms reach.

"Your Angel-savior in Xa-Koro...what did you name-call him?" the Le-Matoran asked.

IC: Krayn

It was time for a drastic change in tactics. Darylhii was too fast for conventional sword attacks, and at this range, they were simply impractical.

So as his foot was brought back to the ground, he released his grip on his weapon altogether, using his opposite hand to grab the shaft of Darylhii's spear. With a thought, Krayn put into use a trick he had learned years back. It was rarely helpful, as it required getting to a very short range, but when it was needed, it delivered. He focused his element in his right hand, concentrating powerful vibrations into his fist, swinging it at Darylhii's jaw.

The vibrations added a bit more force behind the punch, causing shockwaves to slam into the part of the body that was hit, increasing the amount of damaged delivered.

Hours passed, and Verak finally got out of the pool and began limping away on his newly crafted cane-thing. It was made from sturdy wood. Verak didn’t know the name of the wood, but he knew it was found in the jungle, and it was strong. Many cheap weapon hilts or more expensive disks were crafted from this wood. Verak thought it strong enough to have the honor of being his walking stick, and so, now it was.
The stick itself was not well crafted- it was functional, and not much else. He did stylishly carve his name into the wood’s side, though, so it was differentiated from all those other clumsily carved walking sticks you find. He was proud of it, because he made it himself, instead of getting another Toa to make it for him.
The walking stick was pressed into all sorts of interesting things- dirt, giant mushrooms, patches of vines, thick grass, mud, and giant wavy plant things that were far less flexible than you first thought. Verak continued through the jungle, snacking on any edible plant he came across. (And one incredibly inedible one, but he spat that out pretty quick.)
Verak had a lot of fun. Even if he wasn’t getting that so-loved rush of adrenaline, he was enjoying the vibrant sights, varied sounds, and even the strange smells that Le-Wahi had to offer. The jungle was such a stunning place; you could spend hours sitting on a rock inspecting the forest in front of you, and find endless amounts of new things:
Tiny ants crawled slowly across a leaf, proudly touting pieces of plant or Rahi or other unidentifiable things in their mouths, marching confidently back to their nests. Sometimes one would hold a piece of leaf or bark five or six times it’s own size, obviously making those bugs around it incredibly jealous. Fikou spiders scurried out of the ant’s way, not wanting to mess with them, and searched for another branch to weave their web.
Small flies buzzed around, searching for all manner of nasty things. In the distance, birds soared above the treetop, sometimes hunting, sometimes merely frolicking in the air, enjoying life like Verak did. If you were lucky, you might spot a Muaka or a Ash bear moving through the bushes, and if you were unlucky, you were in their territory and you might quickly find yourself fighting for your life.
The Flora was even more spectacular, and much easier to see. Huge trees soared to impossible heights, and strange creepers hugged them. The tree’s large roots snaked around and formed nets of bark. Vines draped themselves over every surface, and weird mushrooms sprouted form the ground.
Light filtered through the canopy and cast the entire forest in a dark green glow.
Verak taunted the Brakas, chased away the small and timid Muaka he spotted, and crawled through the strange plantlife. He learned a bit about how poisonous plants tasted, and the single minded determination of ants to keep moving in a line. He even climbed a few trees in his damaged state, and scared off the birds and monkeys.
All this, however, had a goal- Verak was moving, in a wandering, unhurried path, to the former sight of the Nui-Rama hive. He had something to pick up.
With a smile, he pushed aside some large ferns and continued on his way.

"How did you get over it?" I said in reply, looking at Kunitu with reddened eyes. Though I quickly realized that was probably a very personal question to answer. "I just can't stand the fact that I wasn't able to do anything. I'm a Toa, I'm supposed to be the one that does the rescuing, instead I got myself kidnapped like some damsel." When I had been trapped in that cave I had felt so helpless, a feeling I loathed more than almost anything. It certainly didn't make me feel much like a the Toa-hero I always strived to be.

Anyway, I decided that I had cried quite enough, the fact that I had cried at all was something that Kunitu would probably remind me of it for the rest of my life. "Well, I better report to Kongu now..." I said, wiping my eyes. "How bad do you think he'll chew me out?" It had been months since I'd even sent so much as a letter to report my activities.

IC-Marfoir:

First shot, low, to the right. Adjust scope. Second shot, slightly low, adjust it up again. Third shot: Dead on. Fourth: Dead on. Fifth: Dead on. The scope on Marfoir's rifle had been set perfectly for the distance he needed, about five hundred yards out. There was an old guard outpost over there, that had long since been abandoned-there were fikou webs and leftovers from the dinners of a few...unsavory creatures. Or beings. As such, it was the perfect position for Marfoir to make his attack, especially judging by how clear a view he had from there to the position where Matau would be standing. He loaded the last round, settling in amongst the few leaves that drooped low enough from the tree the platform was on that he could use for cover, and waited.

Farther off, Matau was receiving a typical Le-Matoran welcome as he made his way back to his hut. There were a few Gukko Force members escorting him-and the slug he had on his back-to his tree-top abode, and he loved it. His Matoran were happy, he was back to help them, and there was no chance of him being kidnapped again, the guards had seen to that.

Marfoir's eyes narrowed, as he cocked the rifle, making it ready to fire, well hidden in his camouflage. He checked the height he was at again, and nodded-the rope he had tied to the edge of the platform was perfect. It would hold him as he went down, but a simple tug in the right direction on the slip knot would pull it apart just as he needed to jump down.

"Ah, it's good to be settled-happy back in my safe-home," Matau said quietly, nodding to a few of the Matoran by him, and paying attention to the silent ruminations of the Parakuka on his back. Marfoir frowned-he'd heard the Turaga had such things on them. But he didn't know that they would be as large as they were, or as well armoured. This could prove somewhat problematic, if his shot wasn't exactly perfect. The Turaga might just fly into a Parakuka-enhanced rage, spitting the bullet right back out.

Still, he had to do what he had to do. He thumbed the safety of his rifle off, watching as Matau made his slow way to the dais from which he would speak, and address the Matoran. If Marfoir could help it, he wouldn't reach that spot. There was a small window on his hut, one that was open, and Marfoir could see light spilling from it. The moment Matau passed in front of that spot, he would have a small, protosteel projectile blasted through one ear and out the other.

"Estimated time till the shot can be made: three minutes," Marfoir muttered to himself, wetting his lips. He was killing a leader of the Matoran, rendering them without the old leadership they had...this, too, could prove problematic. The plan that the Peers had might fall out of their own control...No, they would have planned for all eventualities. They would be fine.

Two minutes, 55 seconds. That was how long Marfoir had to wait. At the fifteen second mark he would hold his breath, counting the heartbeats. A thirtieth of a second before Matau stepped in front of the window he would fire. And when Matau was in full view of the window, he would be dead.

IC: [Darylhii]

Darylhii suddenly let go of his spear and sagged back, his spirit temporarily leaving his body as Krayn's fist barely missed his head, before returning to quickly twist away from Hari's dagger blow. It had been a while since he had thought against two beings in such a manner, and it was a rather nostalgic feeling for the broken Toa.

Now currently in a rather exposed position, he flipped back onto his feet, and formed a wooden staff in his hands.

It'd be interesting to see what his opponents would do next.

On this eve, the thirtieth anniversary of that first colony, many are left to wonder; is the world fast approaching a breaking point?

IC: KehuriThe Toa of Earth felt a strong urge to launch an attack then, but doubt held him back. He had one day's experience in fighting, and it was all defensive. If he attacked now, he would certainly just end up hindering the Toa of Sonics. Gritting his teeth, his fist clenched around his pick as he offered an impatient prayer to Mata Nui to have this end quickly. And well.

IC: [Darylhii]

A mass of tentacles quickly formed from the Toa of the Green's torso, barely managing to slow down the attack, which lead to him letting go of both his make-shift staff and his opponent's hand. It was funny how he kept on losing his weapons, but it wasn't time for him to be on the defensive, especially when his loss would lead to imprisonment, and it wasn't something he wanted.

The tentacles burst outwards once more, twisting around to entrap the unarmed (sans the make-shift staff) Toa in front of him.

IC: The Simul Crew - Outside the Fowadi - Fighting

Crazed Toa with a vendetta.

And I thought this day was going to be boring.

Crazy with a grudge against the Lieutenant. Iden. Ve-Toa. Trained Naona, so fighting style expected to be reminiscent. Taller, stronger than Rynekk. Engaged with Krayn and Hari.

Winning.

I glanced at Rynekk, the old flame of battle-lust clear in my eyes.

The Po-Toa met his sister's gaze, mouthing the words, Rebounder, with a small smirk on his face, as he pushed himself off into a standing position, holding his spear in one hand, coatless and armour-less.

Rebounder? Was he crazy?

Oh. Right. Anyway.

Unsheathing one of my swords, I sprang into action, leaping onto a low-lying branch, using that as a springboard towards the fray.

In a classic Plag-three-point landing behind Darylhii, I flicked my wrist, sending small, controlled bursts of lightning at the Toa's attack, instantly vaporizing the plants before they reached their target.

Not bothering with any glitz or glamour, Rynekk summoned a stone about the size of his head, hurling it directly--

--past Darylhii, straight towards his sister.

Grinning like a madman, I activated my Hau, creating a shield of energy around me, which the rock hit, causing it to rebound straight towards the crazed Toa

IC: [Darylhii]

Darylhii swung his arm back, a wooden Kolhii stick forming as he did so, catching the stone, and promptly swinging it around to fling at his opponent. The loss of his vines were of no consequence, after all, he could easily make more.

Which was why his lower body pretty much turned into a mass of tentacles that shot out towards all his opponents.

IC: KehuriThis was ridiculous. The young Toa simply couldn't understand how this single Toa could fend off attacks from four separate attackers so efficiently. Nobody could multitask so well. Deciding it was time he actually did something, he set up a protective wall of earth in front of the Toa behind him before diving in front of Hari, letting the vines rebound off of his Hau's shell. Holding up his shield he called back to the Toa of Plantlife, "I'll try and fend off his attacks, can you get him from behind me?"Although he tried to sound confident, he had little doubt this ridiculous Toa could pulverize him in an instant. Well, if he focused entirely on him that is.

IC: Kehaga - Le-koro -

There was quite a commotion with Matau's return and Kehaga was just noticing it. Why had he been the last to known that the Turaga was coming back home today? All over the koro there were cheers and the sound of music playing, Kehaga decided to get a closer look, trying to shove his way through the masses of Le-matoran. He saw Turaga Matau with his Gukko Force escorts slowly walking through the crowds.

"Ah, it's good to be settled-happy back in my safe-home," Matau said quietly, nodding to a few of the Matoran by him, and paying attention to the silent ruminations of the Parakuka on his back. Kehaga had heard rumors of such slugs that were said to be on all six Turaga. It was quite repulsive, clearly the work of Makuta. Still, Kehaga was happy that their village elder had returned to them.
