Kovika looked over at Kotak, and acknowledged him before he was escorted off. He looked around. "Well, at least two people here are thinking logically.."

IC: Fade - Cafeteria. 

 

"Gag him!" he repeated, glaring at a nearby guard, who quickly rushed forward to do exactly that.

IC: Lana

 

I was getting really sick of this , sitting in the cafeteria while that monster was on the loose, I wasn't going to wait here to be killed, that was for sure. I stood up from my seat, and began walking toward the cafeteria's exit. It was nice that the guards were currently distracted.

IC Kotak:

 

"What I asked him was for a team of Toa to capture and destroy the creature. He turned me down."

 

Kotak shrugged. 

 

"Something is very wrong. Nuju is not the man who set me on the right path 1,000 years ago." 

 

He shook his head.

 

"We almost had it, Nyhe. If Halmos hadn't bugged out, we could have killed it!"

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Cafeteria

"I don't know why you guys even bother anymore," Sal said nonchalantly. "It's not like these Karz-heads are going to listen to reason anyway. Frankly, I'm surprised that anything even gets done in this circus of an institution."

IC: Scriva/Fade - Cafeteria. 

 

Noticing what Lana was doing, and seeing that Fade and his guards were busy dealing with Kovika, Scriva quickly got to her feet and followed her out the door. Seeing that the moronic patient had finally been gagged, Fade looked up, and spat several unpleasant curses as he realised that Scriva and Lana had slipped away.

IC: Lana

 

"Which way is the monster right now?" I asked Scriva once we were a good ways away from the cafeteria. There didn't seem to be anyone in the halls at all.

GM IC Nyhe:

"Heh. Good job Nuju..."

 

Nyhe turned back to Kotak. "We've been planning something. There are very few Toa in the city proper, and they're all away on missions to other parts of the 'Verse. But the Asylum is pretty much chock full of Toa, both patients and the odd guard here or there. So, instead of recalling our Toa from places that really need them, we'll use what we've got."

 

Nyhe poured drinks for both herself and Kotak. She handed one to Kotak and downed the other. "I'm going over the files of all 138 patients here and determining how many are fit for service. We've got 97 sanes here, more than enough to take this thing out IF we all work together. That's, of course, not counting guards, staff, etc. etc."

IC Kodrix:

Noticing  two leave the room, Kodrix activated his Kaulsi, teleporting outside teh cafeteria and ducking into a hall.

Ic Kotak:

 

His eyes widedned slightly.

 

"You have a plan, then?" he asked, taking the drink and downing half of it.

 

He leaned forward, finally, someone was talking some sense in this place.

Kovika almost grinned as they gagged him. Were he not gagged, he probably would have started throwing insults about Fade's intelligence out there.

One of these days someone will see my logic, except for probably the genius who ordered the gag. Kovika thought. Though usually not very expressive, he would have laughed if he could speak.

Halmos grumbled at the sight of Kovika getting gagged, then turned around to set Lana in her right place. Whether that be strung on the outside waiting to be eaten by Takea sharks was her o-

 

"Where did they go?" He fumbled out, surprised that the guards were completely distracted at the moment. They were gone, intentionally slipping out quietly, which could only mean...

 

 

"Fade! those two imbeciles are after the creature!"

IC: Fade - Cafeteria. 

 

"If they want to go get themselves killed, it isn't my problem," Fade spat back, "It's my job to keep everyone safe, and since the majority of everyone is currently in this room, I'm not going to waste time and resources going after those two morons."

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Cafeteria

Sal took a seat on one of the nearby chairs, smiling as she slowly began clapping at Halmos' sudden revelation.

"And you." Halmos snorted, rather infuriated at this point. "I want you into your cell at this moment. You've been harassing the guards and personnel long enough. Now."

 

The guards then noticed their tazers were dripping fuzzy battery acid, but Halmos didn't yet.

 

 

 

 

Lana's question never got answered. A door, in the empty hall, swung open, and in the jaws of the monster, was a bloody and beaten Kazak.  It growled and strode out with its meal, hissing and impersonating the sounds of other Rahi.

"Hey you!" she called out to the creature, making her throat ache painfully. "Remember me?"

"While I'm honestly quite flattered that you're deciding to waste even more of your time on little old me instead of, oh, I don't know, doing your jobs, I think that I'm going to have to decline," Sal said, refusing to budge. "If the monster does by some small miracle make its way in here, there's absolutely no way that I'm going to miss out on it turning you all into a five-course meal."

IC: Fade - Cafeteria. 

 

"I am doing my job," Fade growled, decreasingly gravity around Sal in the hopes of levitating her into the air, leaving her unable to move or defend herself. "My job is currently to ensure that you get thrown into your cell."

IC: Lana

 

Up until this point, I hadn't seen the monster for myself. Hearing about it and seeing it for yourself are two different things. I was taken back by it's horrible and terrifying appearance. 

 

I snapped out of my stupor, we needed to save the guy currently trapped in it's jaws. Using my elemental powers I raised a massive spike of rock that erupted from the floor below the monster's feet, raising it up to pierce the creature if I could.

"Really? Color me surprised then," she said, smiling and crossing her arms over her chest as she began floating in the air. "So hunting down and killing the monster so that people don't die gruesomely is a lower priority than being Halmos' personal Brakas, then? Glad to know you've gotten your priorities straightened out, tosser; I can practically see your epitaph now."

Extending her finger, she began waving it around in the air as if writing something.

"Here lies Fade, former Chief of Security. Thought he was so important, but in reality, he was just another tutu-wearing monkey riding a unicycle. Friends would know him as a complete and utter Karz-head if he had any, but to everyone else, he was a shining example of useless and ignorant cannon-fodder. May he forever be digested in the bowels of the creature he was too stupid to prevent from feasting on his entrails."

IC: Fade - Cafeteria. 

 

"Cute," Fade didn't take the words of lunatics seriously. With a causal hand motion of his own, he shifted the flow of gravity around Sal, intending to turn her upside down. He was curious to see how much back-chatting she could do with all of her blood rushing to her head.

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Cafeteria

Sal felt herself twist through the air and immediately reached upwards, folding her knees around her arms so she could keep her head in an upright position.

"Seriously...? Keep this up, and I'll soon be insulting the actual Brakas species by referring to you as one. As it stands right now, a Karzing Protodite could do your job better than you, and the sad thing about it is that you wouldn't even have to pay it as much."

"Take this one to her cell," Fade instructed the two nearest guards, abruptly releasing his gravity well and causing Sal to drop - headfirst - back towards the ground. "And make sure she doesn't leave."

As Sal began picking herself up and the guards moved to grab her, she briefly looked up, staring Fade straight in the face with a scheming glint in her eyes as she made no effort to stop them.

"Your funeral, Karz-head."

Ic: Iyanu

The Toa saw the gun being drawn and waited for it to fire, before causing the bullet to drop next to his head. He bent down and picked it up.

"And so, the hunter becomes the hunted." He said, moving towards Akada.

"I could kill you now, with this." He said, waving the gun in the air. "But I won't. I want you to suffer, feel the pain of those before you."

With that he increased the pull on Akada, his own gun still pointed towards his head. And if that didn't work, well... He had a back-up plan.

She shrunk back in her chair as Fade grew.

Akada laughed at Iyanu. "Idiot. There was only one bullet in that thing, and you don't know how to reload it."

 

With that, Akada summoned his strength to stand - sideways - on the cell door. It was hard, he felt like he was carrying half the prisoners on his shoulders - but as he reached for his tazer, he realized two Vahki were standing there, doing absolutely nothing. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to get the Vahki, if they can't see a prisoner trying to kill someone behind them.

 

"Vahki! Attack prisoner Iyanu!"

 

 

 

As Sal was taken out of the cafeteria, Halmos looked back to Fade. Size was his only intimidation method, and Sal wasn't easily intimidated. "Make sure she doesn't leave that cell either." he causally said as he walked past him to Celii. He calmly placed a hand on her shoulder, not the ragged hand that had seized up a doctor's corpse, not the brutal fist that had tried in vain to harm the creature, but the soft, gentle, non-menacing hand that had comforted Nyhe when she had been troubled, the one which carefully built the siphon, the gentle hand of a doctor.

 

"Don't worry. The cafeteria is empty now." Of course, except for him, Fade, and a few guards, all of which had their tazers leaking the fluids of battery acid from Sal, only Fade didn't know yet, and Halmos was just realizing it.

 

 

 

The monster was shoved into the ceiling, dropping its prey, but then brought its head down and shattered the stone in two. "Oh, I know perfectly, Scriva." It replied, sending a telepathic signal to both Scriva and Lana. "Did you really think turning off the Siphon would help you?"

 

It suddenly sent a stone pillar rising towards Lana's face, intending to crush her head on the ceiling. "Because it didn't stop me."

"97 Toa. That's an army if I ever saw one. We're going 97 to 1 against this thing. I like those odds. Admittedly, it's too powerful for any 1 Toa to go against, but if we-"

*BEEP*

"This is Officer Nevasen. Subject Sigma was taken to her cell against her will."

"Subject Sigma?" That's Five-Knuckled Sal, ain't it? "Okay. Get me Sigma, Gamma and Epsilon, as well as Fade and Dr. Halmos and bring them to me."

"Yes, ma'am."

"We've got work to do."

 

OOC: Sigma is Sal, Gamma is Kovika and Epsilon is Scriva. The three players in control of them are allowed to RP guard NPCs taking them to Patient Counseling. If Lana wants to go with Scriva, go ahead.

IC: Lana

 

I leaped backwards, barely evading the pillar as it crashed into the ceiling, I didn't hesitate to make my counter attack, using my powers I caused the pillar of stone to shatter into fragments, then I sent them flying toward the monster. 

 

"Scriva...grab the Toa and run, I'll hold it off." The monster was too powerful for us to take on alone, but that didn't mean we couldn't rescue it's latest victim.

IC: NPC Guard

"I got Gamma." The guard said, as he grabbed the gagged Kovika, picked him up, cuffed his hands behind his back, and gripped his right arm to try and restrain the Toa of ice. Another guard grabbed Kovika's left arm. They brought Kovika to Patient Counciling. One of the guards knocked on the door and called out to Nyhe. "Doctor Nyhe. Myself and a friend brought Gamma as per your orders."

 

IC: Kovika - Cafeteria

Kovika was on the ground, gagged, and thinking of how he would convince the fools who seem to run the place that sending Vahki would just get all of them killed. Perhaps he would meet a doctor or some chief of staff. The first one is more likely, this is an asylum after all.

Soon Kovika was pulled up on his feet by one guard, who cuffed his hands behind his back. The guard, who was soon accompanied by another, grabbed his arm tightly and walked him out of the Cafeteria, down the halls until he reached a door. One of the guards called out to a Doctor. Someone called Nyhe. "Psycological Examination?" Kovika would have asked were he not gagged.

"Wait until the others are here. Then we'll talk. Until then..." Nyhe pointed to the chair. "Sit."

IC: NPC Guards

The guards released Kovika, hands on their tazers. One of them left, and the other stood at the door.

 

IC: Kovika - Patient Counseling

Kovika was brought in, the guards let him go. He complied when asked to sit, though he was still gagged and cuffed. Maybe he would get some answers as to the questions he asked the Chief of Security earlier.

Nyhe realized Kovika was cuffed and gagged.

 

"Guards? Why is Subject Gamma cuffed and gagged?"

IC: NPC Guard

"M'am, well, you see, Chief of Security Fade and Subject Gamma had a disagreement, so Fade ordered him to be gagged. As for the restraints? I cuffed him as a security precaution, as I have no knowledge of Patient Gamma's mental state. Do you want me to remove the restraints?"

 

IC: Kovika

Kovika listened to the guard speak. Perhaps he would have the gag removed so he could explain to the doctor how the sending only Vahki was suicide. Perhaps.

IC: Fade - Cafeteria.

 

"So Doctor, you mind explaining why the Siphon has been shut down?"

IC: Scriva - Hallway. 

 

Focusing on Kazak's prone form, she used telekinesis to pull him away from the monster. He slid easily across the cold linoleum floor, and as soon as he was clear, she focused her telekinesis once more, trying to shove the monster away from Lana. "Run!"

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Primary Holding

Sal had just about been escorted all the way back to her room when a call came in through one of their radios.

"Orion? Vega? Respond."

The two Skakdi stopped, maintaining their grips on the Vo-Toa's arms as one of them reached upwards to do so.

"This is Vega," the Ta-Skakdi snapped into his headset. "What's going on?"

"We've just recieved alternative orders from Nyhe, requesting that Subject Sigma be brought to Patient Counseling instead."

"Are you Karzing kidding me? Fade just told us to bring Sigma back back to her room, and we're practically right in front of the door!"

"Well, since you obviously have a complaint with how the doctor's running things, maybe I'll just get her on the line so you can address your grievances."

A look of worry quickly painted itself across his face as his Vortixx companion snickered in response.

"No! Don't - I mean, we'll be right there!"

"That's what I thought, Brakas," the voice on the other end said before cutting out.

Vega cursed under his breath before turning back to Orion.

"You heard him; Nyhe wants Sigma in Patient Counseling ASAP," he said.

"Oh, I know," the Vortixx said. "I picked that up while you were still quivering in your boots."

"Shut up!"

"Make me!"

"Thanks for the escort, boys, but I'm pretty sure that I can get there by myself."

As the duo were about to find out, touching a hostile Vo-Toa was a very bad idea. Electricity leaped from her body, zapping the Karz out of them and causing the Vortixx to fall to his knees as she activated her Pakari and quickly slammed their heads together, rendering them unconcious almost instantaneously. Dragging both of their bodies into a nearby cell, she pulled off their headsets one by one and proceeded to crush the Skakdi's beneath her foot, completely destroying it alongside his radio before blasting apart the security camera with a bolt of lighting and stepping outside with one of their nightsticks. Her hands then proceeded to malform the door's locking mechanism, ensuring that nothing short of a blow torch would allow them back into the hallway before proceeding to discharge even more bolts into the nearby cameras in an attempt to cover her movements. Finally, she stuffed the remaining device into her pocket, wrapping the headset around her ear and adjusting the mic to be closer to her mouth as she began to speak.

"Message for Doctor Nyhe," she said, using the same frequency the Skakdi had been on earlier.

"Vega? Orion? What's your status?"

"I'm afraid the Skakdi and the Vortixx are currently taking a nap at the moment. Care to try again?"

"Sigma?! Just what in the Karz do you think you're -"

"If I wanted to keep listening to the chatter of gits, I would have stayed in the cafeteria with Fade. Now, your friends are safe and sound, but you and I both know that I could've just as easily killed them if I wanted to, so I'd really appreciate it if one of you morons would just shut up and listen for once."

A moment of silence passed before the voice spoke up again.

"Go on."

"Tell your boss, the actual competent one, that if she's doing what I think she's doing, and is actually planning to go toe-to-toe with that thing Halmos has been letting roam around the halls without a care in the world, then I will be there after I make a quick pit stop first."

"Wait, what?! Where are you planning to -"

The transmission cut out before he even had the chance to finish his sentence, and for all intents and purposes, Sal seemed to have disappeared off of their radar.

BEEP! "This is Control; Sigma's escaped! She knocked out her guards!"

"Oh... no..."

 

She turned to Kovika and Kotak. "Kovika,  go get Fade, and get to the Siphon and make sure Sal's not there. Kotak, get to the new Security office, give them clearance code 895-Alpha-Bravo-Delta. They'll know what to do. And, don't try to escape. I'm headed to Halmos's office to make sure he's safe."

 

Nyhe opened her drawer and took out a small firearm. "Let's hope I won't have to use this."

The Guard came over to Kovika and removed his cuffs and gag.

 

IC: Kovika

As soon as Kovika was released, he went to the door. Opening it, he turned his head to the doctor. "Which way to the Siphon room?"

"Fade'll know. Trust me, now GO!"

 

Nyhe ran out of the room, towards Halmos's office.

Kovika went out the door without a reply, he sprinted back down to the Cafeteria and stopped when he arrived. "Fade. You and I need to go to the Siphon room. Nyhe's orders. No time to explain."
