She stepped back, letting the others open fire while she used her telekinesis to try to hold the creature still.

Nyhe continued fired at the bulbous yellow things, hoping that the black exterior was but an armored shell and that she could destroy the creature like one kills snails; attacking the fleshy bits.

Kovika kept firing, mixing in the occasional blast of ice. "Die you karzing freak!" He yelled at it as he shot.

IC Kotak:

 

Hearing Sal's warning, he crouched, thickening his shield and putting it before him, summoning icy shards from the floor to impale the creature from below.

135's Nova attack drove Sal's grenade to the creature, fixing it onto its chest. The explosion that followed carried no shockwave, no sign of an explosion, but the noise carried extremely far. Billows of smoke erupted from the Monster's ribcage. It increased its internal heat to escape from the metallic prison.

 

The joints of the creature seemed to wobble about with weakness. The yellow head, however, remained unfazed, yet it was obvious its strength was failing.

 

"No! You will not stop the process! Succes! Success! Must.... AAaahahaauaough!!!"

 

 

In a pathetic last attempt to take out the opposition, retracting its yellow head and the bulbous spots shriveling to a sickening grey, it barreled forwards, brushing past everyone ad ramming its original head into the wall. Pulling out a bit of the concrete as it freed itself, it collapsed without another word.

 

Had the party defeated the monster... For good? Or was it bluffing again?

IC Kotak:

 

Not willing to give the creature a second chance, Kotak used all his remaining Toa energy to unleash a massive icy blast infused with all the destructive power of a nova blast, focused on a single target: the creature.

 

The air around him dropped sharply in temperature as he unleashed the fury of a thousand freezing winters upon the unfortunate creature, and he was obscured in a thick cloud of icy mist.

Nyhe stopped for a moment, confused as to why the monster suddenly dropped.

 

"Well, forget that."

 

Nyhe opened fire on the monster once more, making sure to empty her clip on the thing.

Due to the ice layered over the collapsed monster, Nyhe's attacks did nothing but scatter some of it off. Kotak's attack, however, should have been a cinch for the creature to just melt through and continue the assault. It didn't. It just sat there, with a scared whisper of "leave me be" escaping now and then.

 

Of course, Halmos was oblivious to the situation. He had his back turned, some ways down the hall, trying to dial into his communicator. Eventually both his and Nyhe's beeped, Halmos answering it first.

 

"Sir! Sir! I, I- You have to see this!"

 

Halmos whispered back "In a moment. We have a situation."

 

"Sir, it's back! it's all restored somehow!"

I felt a flare of rage as I barely heard the monster whisper "leave me be", how dare it demand to be left alone, after all the death and misery it had brought upon us. 

 

I formed a massive stalactite, one as sharp as a blade, it's pointy end faced the monster as it floated under my power just above it.. "######. You." I used all my power and rage to bring it down upon the beast, intending to impale the creature all the way through. I was gonna kill it hear and now.

"What's restored?" Nyhe answered her talking communicator.

IC: Kovika

Kovika was as confused as Nyhe as to why the creature had dropped. He ceased fire and took a breath.

IC: Scriva.

 

She stepped forwards, fixing her attention on the monster and striking out with a psychic probe, trying to force her way into the creature's head. She wanted to understand how it thought, why it did what it did, how it had come to be.

 

And then, she wanted it to die.

The massive sedimentary impaling mechanism drove into the Monster with impressive force... Somehow, only a little blood leaked out. No yellow slime, if anyone had expected that. Still, the ease it had driven in... The fact that, just a moment ago, it had been hammering its attacks and toying with them, made everything feel fake...

 

 

Scriva got it, all right. A huge ball of nightmarish thoughts was plunged at her, with every single way a Toa could meet death by a non-sentient force. Most of which were increased by their gruesomeness and just how morbid they were.

 

Then, the line of telekinetic signal went dead. Not a sign of the once strongly-present signal that had occurred constantly before, now just the internal organs wearily pumping out their last.

 

 

 

"Nyhe, sir, um... Ma'am, uh... Authoritative personnel! It's the, uh...what do you call it... Ah, The solitary! it's back!"

He dropped to all fours, approached the monster in the manner of a beast.

 

He began to tear into and eat the monster.

IC: Scriva.

 

Having been buried under a burning house and suffered agonising burns to every part of her body, Scriva wasn't shaken by the torrent of thoughts the monster sent her way. But then, it abruptly stopped.

 

"It.... it's dead...."

IC: Caetus.

 

As the monster died, so too did Caetus. Free at last of the creature's dark influence, he faded from the purgatory he was trapped in, and ascended to a higher plane of existence.

 

Peace at last....

IC Kotak:

 

The mist faded. Where once stood a proud and mighty Toa, now only a small and hunched figure remained.

 

The electronic devices once controlling him no longer fit his stature, and fell away. Mask and body transformed at the behest of Destiny, Turaga Kotak stepped out among the other Toa.

 

His mask whizzed and chirped once as it adjusted to his surroundings, and he supported himself with a staff made of the purest Ice.

 

He gazed at each Toa in turn, before speaking in a low voice that carried not only weariness, but a sense of finality, "My friends, I do believe it to be over."

[Nato G]

IC: Scriva.

 

"Yes. It is over," Scriva replied adamantly, "for me, at least."

IC: Lana

 

It's dead...it's actually dead... We'd done it, we'd won. I could hardly believe it. I had been determined to end the monster, but now that it had actually happened everything felt so surreal. 

 

I could finally relax, and as the adrenaline wore off I came to realize just how exhausted I was as I lost the will to stand, I collapsed onto my hands and knees. The pain I'd been feeling before was noticeable more than ever. I had pushed my power to the limit when fighting the monster, now my body was making me pay for it.

"Good riddance," she said, spitting on its corpse as she did so. "Now, about those release papers..."

IC: Fade.

 

"No one is getting released," Fade growled, pulling out his radio, "I need all available men to head to the warden's office. There a whole bunch of prisoners here that require escorting back to their cells."

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Halmos' Office

While she was awfully tempted to empty the rest of her clip into Fade, who apparently had forgotten that she was currently in possession of an automatic weapon, she instead ignored him completely and diverted her attention towards Nyhe to hear what she had to say about the matter, since her opinion was the only one that really mattered to her.

"Just grin and bear it, Sal," she mumbled through gritted teeth. "Grin and bear it."

Exhausted from the battle and his recent transformation, unconsciousness swept over Kotak, and the new Turaga slumped over.

Kovika didn't know what to think. Had they ended this thing once and for all? Would they ever get out of this madhouse? Would he ever get his answers?

Kovika just looked at the group he had fought with, not saying a word for a while.

135 seemed to have forgotten the bits of ice on the creature, as well as the fact that its metallic skin was just that - metallic. Kinda hard to bite through.

Besides that, if his teeth somehow made it through the metal, or past the big rock in the way, he would find the flesh to be rather charcoal tasting. Not tasty in the least.

 

 

Outside, guards were chatting on the reappearance of all of solitary. They had seen the smoke, evacuated the area, fought the fires... Yet it was completely restored.

The eating continued. Charcoal greyblack death nourished him, what fluids were left were strewn across a small space, his hands were full of viscera.

 

Abruptly he stood. "What killed it?"

Halmos whirled around at the sound of eating and glared at 135. "Shut up. Thanks to that, you're being taken to radiation testing."

 

He didn't approach the monster, content at looking at it from a distance. There was a worry in his eye. It seemed as though it still provided a terrible fear, despite it being fully defeated. What had shrugged off blasts of psionic power was now dead from... A grenade? this didn't seem right. Not at all. It could teleport, rip people in two, was more than a match for even a Makuta, it seemed - so this had to be a bluff, a deception. What did it want, to be buried under concrete? how would that help its plan?

 

Halmos never even heard the reformation message.

"Fade, cancel that guard order. Get these guys to the cafeteria. They're going home."

"Radiation what?"

 

He tried to stand viciously, to deter the doctors and guards and policemen and nurses and quintessential quintet and ULTIMATEONES from capturing him and violating, but he is anemic from over usage of powers and his stand is a feeble one.

IC: Fade/Scriva.

 

"What?" he all but snarled, "why would you?"

 

"You heard the doc," Scriva chimed happily, "we're going home."

The new Turaga continued to be unconscious on the floor.

Upon hearing Nyhe's words, he half wanted to drive his fist into the back of her head for proposing such an idea; loosing all the Toa to spread conspiracies and possibly convince the Matoran to revolt against the city of Metru Nui. But in order to be legally freed, they had to go through several examinations, reviews, tests, and finally examination by the Turaga council. Nyhe could probably knock most of the tests away, but not the council. And with Teridax being so strongly opposed to having to agree with anything Halmos' party had said before, it would be nearly impossible.

 

He decided to make sure no Toa would be released until all of the rumors had died down, the sane were sorted from the mental, and the Matoran were convinced they would be protectors again.

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Halmos' Office

Seeing the look on Fade and Halmos' faces, Sal considered putting a bullet in each of them for a moment. Instead, she just smiled, slung the rifle over her shoulder, and proceeded to head towards the cafeteria without so much as a complaint.

IC: Fade.

 

"Guns first," he growled adamantly, "I'm not letting prisoners wander freely in this facility with stolen firearms."

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Halmos' Office

"Take that up with Nyhe, Karz-Breath," Sal said, folding her arms over her chest. "She's the one who gave me permission to take it in the first place, so I'll gladly hand it over when she tells me to, and not a moment sooner."

IC: Fade.

 

"Just like she gave you permission to wear that uniform?" he challenged, calling Sal's bluff, "You're going to put that gun down right now, or the Vahki will make you drop it."

IC: "Five-Knuckled" Sal - Halmos' Office

"Fine. If you want it back so badly..."

Pulling the weapon off of her shoulder, she actually looked like she was about to do what she was told for once and hand it over. Unfortunately, before Fade could grab it, she pulled it back towards her, completely disassembling it in the blink of an eye and using her Pakari to crush all of its parts into a metal sphere the size of an average kolhii ball. She then proceeded to shove it directly into his chest, leaving him looking like a complete idiot as she began to resume her trip back to the cafeteria.

"Then take it, and be glad it wasn't you who I disassembled instead."

The ground was the object of his stare, he sat down.

 

He didn't feel so good.

IC: Fade.

 

"And that, Doctor Nyhe, is why I'm questioning your decision to release these psychos," Fade growled.

GM IC Nyhe:

 

"Okay, so, some of them might need to be prescribed some... eh... for Sal... benzaflouride, ghidorine, locaproxin... some serious sedatives, but I'm sure most of the Toa here are only here because the Council's keeping them here."

 

Nyhe turned to Halmos. "And you... Don't even try to keep them here. I'm the Doctor here, so any medical decisions, like their declaration of sanity, go through me and only me."

 

Nyhe turned the... couldn't really call it a gun anymore... ball from Fade. "Yeah... that's going to the Forge."

The toa smiled at the comment.

"Personally, to me, nothing matters. Death, life, health, safety, all of it. I don't worry, I don't need to. Nothing bothers me. Nothing scares me."

He took out his blades again, and drew them to the tips of his lips. He plunged them in, and pulled them upwards through his cheeks and face, making a grimace of blood and flesh.
