"Thank you, sir!" She runs off and brings the Hawk over as quickly as physically possible before walking into the ship herself, coolly regarding each of the others with a nod.

IC: Ezezko - New Atero Tower

The subtext alarms in his brain lit up like an overcompensating christmas tree. What did they expect to gain from this exchange? A list of possibilities whirred through his brain at the mushy speed of thought, ninety nine possible reasons and "feeling good about yourself," was not one. At least it never would have occurred to him. Altruism, that is.

"Uh-"

Why the karz did he just say uh? Starting ones sentence with uh was tantamount to exposing your neck in a duel, a bad time. Like wearing your heart on your sleeve in winter and not dressing warmly. All these vaguely lyrical thoughts and many more unwritten whirred through his brain at the 'nonconforming to outside world pacing' speed of thought.

"-sure, thanks."

"Everything, you say? Do tell. Once you've said your piece, I'll decide whether the stench of his slime overpowers the aroma of faraway fortune. And dear Joe, do defend yourself please? We don't want this water-breathing bucket head drowning you, do we?"

To be honest, this guy has a point... I'm getting less and less confident about this mission by the second...

IC: Ektana - outside of Capstone, Cliffside

The Skakdi was standing in Capstone's entrance, glaring at everyone inside, her eyes searching for a certain Ba-Matoran...

She cursed under her breath and growled. "That sly piece of- "

Ektana stepped out and kicked the ground, throwing sand and pebbles at some wounded Skakdi losers sitting nearby - their loss, she thought. She left the plateau, her anger and frustration building up, and headed to a smaller one where The Machete was parked.

Thus far Cliffside has been a great disappointment to her. She's found absolutely no information about Fe's location, even after allying with other Fe-seekers and talking to gossips in Capstone. It's been almost three weeks - how much more was she supposed to stay in here? Flying all over the place like a brainless Zesk would give me better results, she thought grimly.

Ektana took a deep breath and exhaled. One more week, she thought. Just one more week...

IC: Parii - Capstone

Parii smirked seeing the Skakdi go away. Relieved and confident he sat down on the nearest chair and stretched his legs in front of him. From here he could see Barlow, apparently still sitting in the corner of the bar, and the weird Ba-Turaga, still staring as if he was waiting for someone. Parii shrugged and gestured to a waiter and ordered a glass of water.

OOC: Both Parii and Ektana are open for interaction.

IC: Katana - Outside the Capstone

Katana walked across the plateau, his cloak protecting his face from the winds that carried grains of sand that often got caught in his eyes, and the heat of the harsh sun. He hid his vehicle, The Rogue, somewhere behind a bunch of dead bushes and trees. It wasn't really a good hiding place, but hey, why not? Later as he walked, the large blocky building known as the Capstone came into view.

While he walked, he saw a female Skakdi passing by. He kept his hands to his side and his head kept down, trying to not attract the Skakdi's attention. Katana walked right pass her, she must've not noticed him. For some reason, Katana decided to follow her. Just for the fun of it, I guess, he thought.

She must've been too lost in thought to not notice Katana following her all the way to where she parked her vehicle. Katana stood about 50 feet from where she was. She looked a bit depressed. She must've had a rough day.

Katana turned around and walked away from the Skakdi, deciding he should leave her alone.

OOC: edited. didn't notice she already left the capstone.

IC: Katana - Cliffside

Katana took a few steps forward and turned around to check on the Skakdi, who he could tell from a distance, was eyeing him strangely. Not sure if he should ignore her or maybe even approach her (which he knew was a bad decision), he simply waved a peace sign at her. Yes, he knew it made him look dumb.

IC: Ektana - Cliffside

She took a moment to take in the sight before her eyes - someone in Cliffside was showing a peace sign to her. She stared a bit longer, guessing that the guy was either a newbie, simply dumb or both. Her mind settled on the third option.

"Hmpf. Weirdo" Ektana muttered to herself, turning away.

IC: Otho - Tesara Jail

Otho was in disbelief. They arrested him, just to give him a pep talk and release him? What kinda of justice system was this city running? At least in Cliffside if you broke one of the shady rules, punishment was dished out. Here....he was given a pep talk for destroying squash.

He wasn't about to talk himself into a longer sentence however, so he quickly grabbed his jetpack(now semi-ruined) and ran off without another word.

GM IC: Xaril - The Iron Fist Of Fe.

With the newcomer now on board, Xaril decided that he'd waited long enough. He clambered across the gangplank, pulling it on board behind him, and sealing the entry hatch. "Get this ship moving!" He shouted up to the pilot, and moments later the titanic vessel lurched into motion, drifting first upwards, then forwards, on a south-west vector.

The passengers would find the interior to be somewhat sparse, with little in the way of luxuries or decorations to make the place more homely. Still, there was a seating area in the hold, which was where Xaril headed once he was inside, "Best make yourselves comfortable," he said, slumping into one of the decidedly uncomfortable looking seats, "It's going to be a long flight."

IC: Ezezko - New Atero Tower

He fell into clockwork lockstep behind the gargantuan Skrall, subconsciously thankful for the shade.

The moments of silence ticked by like little glass shards being ground into his eyes. Why did he feel like the others weren't around as a social buffer? Was it because they were even more repellant than he? Probably. Maybe he ought to say something, about the job? The city? Life in the military? Something normal. Something respectable.

IC: Karanta - Iron Fist

Karanta looked at the odd device in wonder and awe as Rorohiko typed away on it. She barely even registered Fifteen walking on the ship, or the ship taking off.

Only upon Xaril speaking did her attention snap away.

"Huhwhat? Oh. Okay. Sit. Yes. I'll do that. Sorry," She murmured, settling into one of the seats. It was not comfortable in the slightest.

This was about the dumbest thing he's ever done. Maybe after all these thousands of years the desert was finally getting to him. The Skakdi turned away from him, so he did the same to her and walked away, heading back to the Capstone.

IC: Taurek - Dropping out

The inferno cleared, and I managed to dodge the blasts aimed at me, but I could feel the vehicle slowly being dragged back.

I needed to hit the main engine of the Jetrax that was in front of me.

Gritting my teeth, I pressed the boost mechanism, and the vehicle shot back forwards again.

Taking aim, I closed one eye, and waited for the vehicles to align.

Steady......steady........NOW!

I fired one freeze disc and one weaken disc at the enemy engine, hoping to take him out of the chase.

IC: Armani - New Atero

"What an odd question, citizen!" Armani said cheerfully. "I do, however, thank you for your observation. I am, in fact, big. Huge, even. And I am proud of it, my friend!"

She made sure her pace was not too fast for the Matoran. "What brings you to assist New Atero, if I may be so bold? Are you, too, here for the honour of assisting in the experimental endeavours of our proud city?"

IC: Rorohiko - Ship

Rorohiko hummed in agreement as he worked, and then noticed Karanta's attention on his device as the guard looked away. When she sat down, he figured he may as well try and make conversation. He, of course, was happy to sit silently and fiddle with his work, but these people were going to be looking after him on this trip, so it seemed rude to completely brush them off.

"I noticed you staring at this," he said, gesturing to his arm. "This is what I've been working on in my workshop. Or, well, part of it. I'm hoping to find more parts in Cliffside."

He smiles and closes the door behind him as he leaves... and walks back into Erland. "Umm... did you want anything too?"

IC: Fifteen - Fe Hangar

She arrives back at the group she had seen, now much smaller as the others seemed to have moved on. She walks up to Xaril and snaps a crisp salute. "Guard Fifteen, reporting for duty," she says in a soft tone.

IC: Erland

"I'm... Not sure really. It's more a question if you want anything, or if you're hiring; otherwise, I'm doing pretty well on my own."

Taking a seat, Erland had to hold her tongue, lest she go on a long-winded rant about the condition of the Moa.

IC: Ennanas - Outskirts of New Atero

It had been a long time since her last hunt.

Ennanas flew above the plateaus near New Atero, her eyes cast downwards. The air felt no different than usual. The ground looked the same as always. Dull. Sandy. Rocky. No tracks of the beasts she longed to kill. The beasts she felt a duty to slay. Fending off swarms of Zesk and Vorox had grown dull at this point. They were standard fare, normal things that many had fought.

Unlike the beasts from below.

She scanned the ground, hoping to find some sort of hint, something to indicate that a creature had emerged from the depths, something for her to hunt. She didn't want to go back home empty handed again. Not again.

OOC: Ennanas open for interaction somewhere ambiguously outside of New Atero. She can probably see people on the ground, if you want to wave her down.

IC: Vanox - Capstone Bar

It had sure been a long day. Vanox was exhausted after a long, hard day of ship repairs. But hey, he made tons of money by doing so. Even got to install a few new weapons on some ships! Vanox smiled. Sure, smuggling out weapons was what got him kicked out of Fe, but it got him lots of money. And that was always a positive.

He strode into Capstone, a massive grin plastered on his face. It was time to relax, and spend some of that hard-earned cash on some hard drinks, as was his tradition.

IC: Kathok - Above the Wastes

Kathok's eyes dart backwards and forwards, gaze flying between the mirrors and view in front of him, vision flickering wildly, detail taken in at nauseating speed, focus and re-focus spinning time and space together into a set of open doors, tapestries of colour, form, shape, light and dark, presented and whipped away a thousand times a heartbeat, and, and, and--

Time slows, the rapids changing to treacle-slow tributaries. Kathok's eyes swing heavily around on their sponsons, soaking up the images they brush through. He sees a few things. First, the metal glint of the mirror sends him a painting of Silvana's ship. She isn't advancing. That means she must be getting ready to fire. Either that or she's waiting for him to destroy her other enemy. Or vice versa. Kathok realises that the pilot of the other ship has stolen his plan. Continuing on their journey, Kathok's eyes focus on a closer target. With almost comical slowness, the picture trickles into Kathok's brain from the outside world. The rockoh's pilot is a cartoon of rage and vicious vitriol. And Kathok can see the launchers' mechanisms slide into place with dull, cold inevitability. Their pent up energy is being released, unstoppably pushing their destructive cargo towards their objective.

All these facts coagulate in Kathok's mind to form one simple solution. He has to copy the other jetrax.

The consciousness sends its messengers to the workers of the body. Ripping, rippling waves of energy course outwards, through Kathok's cells and circuits, muscle fibers and metal pistons. They reach the fingertips, mechanical convulsions sending them towards their goal. The hands grasp and scramble for the cliched big red lever. When they find it, power pours into the downwards movement. After a thin slice of a second peels past, the muscles relax.

Kathok, through his adrenaline-fueled hyper-awareness, is conscious of Sunmaker dropping, the feeling of gravity pulling him upwards, grabbing at him with incorporeal hands. His eyes widen intuitively, body lifting and bracing with a subconscious preservation instinct. But it won't be quite fast enough, he realises. Not to achieve all objectives, at least. He sighs. He's jolted back into awareness when one of the discs skims past him, splitting the air. A moment later, the other disc punches into the top of one of the main jets at a narrow angle, taking off the armour plating and shredding one of the thruster cells within. If Kathok had been paying attention, he would have realised it must have been a fairly high-level weakens disk. But still Sunmaker plummets, its course barely changed by the collision with the projectile.

Kathok always finds great satisfaction in waiting until the very, very, very, very, very, very, very last moment to turn his engines back on when he performs a stunt like this. Today is no exception. Just as the injured jetrax seems to have its fate sealed by the endless expanse of dust and grit, it hops back upwards, skimming the desert like a stone skims water. With part of one of its main thrusters damaged, Kathok will have to pour even more power in to keep pace. But he doesn't care about that right now; as he rises behind the other two, his hopes once again rise in unison.

IC Maldrakk

He strode up to Bloodbath with a smile on his lips.

Swinging himself into the pilot's seat, eager to pick off some Vorox - buggers had tougher armour than they looked, but Zesk weren't as fun - he started the engine with a loud roar before descending into a rattling hum that shook the ears of inexperienced drivers. He watched the skies to see if the other pair had reached their ships yet.

GM IC: Xaril - Iron Fist of Fe.

By luck or fate, the wind was at the airship's back as it departed from Fe, providing a slight boost to its usually-leisurely speed. The mountain fortress of Fe quickly become lost from sight between the other, taller peaks. Normally any vehicle entering or departing Fe was flanked by an escort from the border guard, but Xaril needed no such supervision, and the guards knew it.

Xaril shuffled back in his seat, digging out a whetstone and beginning to sharpen his sword. This was going to be a long flight, and he wanted to be ready for whatever was waiting for them at its end.

GM IC: Silvana - Canyon.

Seeing the other Jetrax begin to emulate her earlier maneuver, Silvana punched her speed back as close to full as she could manage, her own still-undamaged engines carrying her right past both of the other ships. Fragmented shards of half-melted plating flaked off the ship, unable to handle the rapid acceleration. The way she figured it, as long as she could keep the Rockoh between herself and the other Jetrax, she might stand a chance of reaching the edge of the canyon, where she could lose the duo fairly easily.

But simply overtaking the pair wouldn't be enough, so she angled her weapons array diagonally downwards, firing off all three of her plasma cannons in quick succession. The resulting conflagration sent an immense plume of dirt, mixed with jagged shards of vitrified sand, exploding skywards, the Whisper itself only narrowly avoiding being engulfed.

With power no longer being diverted to the weapons array, Silvana was able to squeeze a little more speed out of the engines, and she propelled onwards in the hope the hazardous cloud would hamper her attackers enough to let her maintain her head start.

GM IC: Hakkzan - City Gates, New Atero.

His Spikiness and his Skrall escort made their way to New Atero's primary entrance, a pair of massive gates that opened out into an outer courtyard of sorts, where New Atero kept most of its ground-based vehicles, with the obvious exception of the mysterious prototype.

A transport was already prepped and ready, waiting for them along with a full contingent of armed guards, as promised. Hakkzan didn't particularly appreciate being coddled, but he was rarely given a choice in situations like this, and he'd long since learned not to bother trying to challenge it. "Alright team, let's get going!" He said brightly, as he clambered aboard.

"Come on, I bet he hasn't even told you what nonsense quest he's trying to drag you off on this time!" It looked like Bloat was trying very hard not to laugh at the group.

"The Golden Being's fortress," Joe snapped, "I know we can pull it off, this time."

"No," Bloat's tone turned serious, "No, no, no, no, no! That's a suicide mission. We both know that."

"You don't have to go down there with us, moron," Joe snorted, "We just need your ship."

"I'm not ferrying another group of innocents to their deaths," Bloat spat, before addressing the rest of the group, "Get away from this brakas, right now. I mean it. He's going to get you all killed."

IC: Ezezko - New Atero

Did she just completely dodge his question? Or worse, take it as some sort of non-neutral at best comment on an objective feature of her self, ie bigness?? Karz now he was worried, this is why he never did vaguely friendly banter because misunderstandings happened. And of course they followed up with a question about his life and dreams, next thing he knew His Spikiness would whip out his shotgun and pronounce them wed.

It was an interesting question however, however telling the truth would surely earn him aught but ire. (i wanna steal yr secrets and get paid) and maybe it might earn him some more scars over his pretty body. And maybe he'd be killed. Hmm.

Luckily the stream of consciousness of his was a deep underground trickle, one that never saw the light of his open mouth.

IC: Rorohiko - Ship

Karanta knew not what she had unleashed. Rorohiko's eyes brightened from their usual dull, tired glow, surprised and delighted someone had taken an interest in his work. "Well, you probably know I can't tell you too much, it's a secret project. What I can tell you is, I'm working on old tech from both the Great Beings and the old Matoran Universe- or, what people have scavenged of the tech, anyway- and trying to reverse engineer it. Make it better, even. Things like the implants that the Great Beings made for the entirely organic sapient species of Spherus Magna. Those are rare nowadays, can you imagine how many lives could be bettered if we could make more of them? I also find bits and pieces of old screens and stuff like that from the Matoran Universe, if we can recreate it..."

He was smiling now, his mask's expression bright. "This tech, it could change the world. I don't even think there's anything it can't do. I wasn't around when people were still living in the Matoran Universe, but wow, it must have been incredible to be around all this cool stuff!

"As for this device in my arm, specifically, it's very important to my research. It's the first device I got working, and I can use it to interact with other devices. I keep it with me, and I hide it when I'm in other villages. It's part of the reason I only go out of Fe with other people, like on trade routes or with armed escorts. I really can't afford to lose it. It could set my research back years, or longer." He extended his arm briefly to show her the lit screen, full of numbers and letters. "I can store my work into it, like etching words into paper or stone, except if I want to write something really long, I don't have to carry a big heavy book around. It stores it in itself, like how a person stores thoughts and memories. It can do thinking things, too. I can ask it maths questions and it can answer them accurately in only a second. Isn't that incredible? It thinks faster than the average person does!"

IC: Armani - New Atero, Parking District

"It certainly is!" she agreed wholeheartedly. "The walls of the city are magnificent from the Wastes."

She suspected the Matoran had some kind of ulterior motive. He did not seem to be a good liar, in any case. She considered what other reasons he could have. He could be unwilling to admit he was just here for the money. He could be planning to sell the information later. Well, the latter was a slight concern, but she doubted it would end well for him if he were to attempt it. Especially with his current level of skill in deception.

She watched the Skakdi bolt down the road towards the ships, and soon he was out of sight. She turned back to her Matoran companion. "He must be very keen to assist. As he should be! This is an incredible opportunity to be part of history, after all."

She had parked near the entry of the parking district, and she gestured to her craft. "We will have to part ways here, citizen, unless you would like me to walk you to your vehicle?"

His possible internal and external retorts were drowned out by an ear shattering roar, one that set siege to his oh so aeronautically nubile ears. One created by Big Red's gaudy and thoroughly tryhard aircraft. It looked like something a kid on xbox live would think is cool and hardcore.

"Uh, I'll be good from here. Thanks, Armani." He mumbled a bit and set off for his own craft, breaking from the cover of her shade like cannonfodder in trench warfare, heading over the top into the relentless machine gun fire of the sun. Hopefully his flung grenade might strike true and allow his comrades a brief moment of respite. Or maybe they'd at least send his dog tags back to his mourning family...

In reality, he climbed into For Hire, did a quick ops check and turned her on, producing an (ear) pleasing rather than (ear) penetrating noise.

IC: TV - Central Marketplace, Tesara
Walking in to the marketplace with a loaded cart was never too odd a sight, but doing so with a cart full of fruit that were nigh impossible to find? That did tend to draw a few stares. It was odd though, seeing so many guards wandering around.
Regardless, most of the allotted stall spaces had been claimed and set up in.
"That's the price of leaving late," I grumbled.
There was an empty spot next to that Fe ship... seems nobody else was too keen on setting up next to it. Of course, I couldn't blame them. Those Fe overseers deserved about as much respect as a bottom feeder from the pit. Loathsome slavers that they were, though, better to claim that space than none at all. I rolled up alongside the great airship and raised the top to the cart, effectively creating a stand, albeit one with a roof that only came to my chest.
"Madu fruit for sale! Ripe, organic Madu fruit!" My voice carried across the marketplace like a Kane-ra's bellow, sounding just as rough, and only slightly more inviting.

IC: Saffina - Cliffside (Capstone Bar and Market)

Having walked around for what seemed like quite a while and with absolutely nothing to show for it, the Vortixx simply sighed angrily and began her trek back towards Capstone.

At best, there'd hopefully be something expensive to salvage; at worst, she'd have to lug around a few corpses in her cargo bay, and hope that she could find someone willing to shell out some coin for a few dead Vorox before they managed to stink up her upholstery. Either way, she'd likely have to hire on some additional crew members, who would most definitely want more than their usual share for possibly going up against a weapon that can take airships out of the freaking sky, so odds were that any potential payout (provided that they even survived, obviously) would probably already be mostly spent by the time she even got her hands on any of it. Factor in future ship repairs and supplies, and she'd essentially be back where she started in no time.

Better than standing around here and doing nothing, I suppose.

Stepping inside the doorway once again and frankly not giving a #### if the Turaga noticed her or not, she listened to the two Skakdi recount the same tale for a third time before making her approach towards the pair, this time with the intent of learning the approximate location of where their ship had supposedly gone down.

"Excuse me, but could either one of you point out roughly where the attack occured on a map? I might be heading out that way later on myself, and I'd like to know what to expect in order to avoid any unnecessary... complications."

"Ye-yes!" One of the pair stammered, thankful that someone had finally taken notice of them, "Of course!"

"But, for a price," the second Skakdi interjected. Unlike her companion, it hadn't escaped her notice that Saffina had already walked right past them on several occasions now, "Everything in Cliffside comes at a price, after all, and this information is all we have left to sell."

IC: Katana - Capstone Bar

Katana stepped inside the Capstone Bar and took a look around. Skakdi, Vortixx, Matoran and a few Glatorian and Agori were all busy minding their own business. He never came here very often, since he wasn't much of a fan of alcohol. After asking the bartender to fill his water bottle with regular water he took a seat in front of the counter, waiting for the bartender to come back.

He tapped his index finger impatiently on the counter while taking another look around the bar.

OOC: Katana is open for interaction. also, sorry for leaving Ektana like that, things just got awkward pretty fast.

OOC: No need to apologize, her and Katana's paths might cross again. I should be the one saying sorry for scaring Katana off.

IC: Parii - Capstone

Once again Parii looked at the entrance of the bar. This time he saw a Glatorian entering soon after the Fe-Matoran. The stranger sat down roughly ten feet away from Parii; he looked somehow impatient and nervous.

From his point of view, the newcomer seemed relatively out of place - he kept looking around the bar, no acquaintances, no friends, no one talking to him, nor did he look like he was waiting for anyone. The Matoran finished his beer, not realizing that he was staring at the Glatorian.

IC: Saffina - Cliffside (Capstone Bar and Market)

And there it was; the art of bartering at its finest.

In truth, Saffina had sort of expected this. No one here, herself included, was going to bother offering assistance to anyone else in this settlement unless it was well within their own interests to do so, and from the look of these two, it wasn't too surprising that she was the first to even warm up to the possibility of them potentially being worth her time. Due to the fact that they were apparently lacking any additional means of transportation, this would also probably involve having to volunteer her ship out as their only ride back to the more... civilised areas of The Great Barren as well.

But since she was currently the only person in here who had gone cared to acknowledge their existence, that also meant that she had a slight advantage when it came down to hashing out the exact arrangements of this little exchange, seeing as to how offers to fly them out of Cliffside weren't exactly lining up for them either.

"Fair enough," the Vortixx replied, taking the time to sift through her own thoughts for a bit. "Name your terms, and let us see if we can come to some sort of agreement."

IC: Saffina - Cliffside (Capstone Bar and Market)

"I... may have some additional coin left over from my last gig that I'd be willing to part with."

It was then that she briefly diverted her attention to the claws of her left hand, acting as if the next bit of information was no big deal.

"And a few spare rooms on an airship, in the event that you were looking to get out of Cliffside."

GM IC: Stranded Skakdi - Capstone.

And indeed, it was no big deal. "This is Cliffside, sweetie. If we wanted a ship, we'd have taken one hours ago. If we wanted to get out of here, we'd be long gone already."

"Give us the coin, and we'll give you the information." The other skakdi snickered.

IC: Karanta - The Iron Fist

Karanta's mouth was agape. She did not expect Rorohiko to start talking so much. And even if she didn't know what he was doing specifically, it was certainly interesting. Her mind clicked along for a few moments, attempting to process all of the information.

"Wow."

IC: Vanox - Capstone Bar

Vanox caught someone staring at him as he entered. He had no idea who they were, but it didn't matter. He walked on over, and sat down at the bar. "Barkeep! The Vanox special, please!"

There was a stupid grin on his face. "Of course, this time the special should be a nice glass of Madu Gin, please."
