IC: Krokk and Mala, Only Bay Passage.Mala cut the telepathic contact with the toa. No response was necessary to the ultimatums they had given each other. Both parties now had enough information to kill the other soundly, and both knew what must happen if they were to use it. For all its deadliness, the understanding was a simple one. They slowly walked back into the trees as the interviews continued. "Another day, another danger" Krokk remarked silently."We needed him" Mala shot back "It was the only option"."I know" came the reply "but it came at a cost. Once this is all dealt with, maybe we should just kill him".The reply was a wordless agreement radiating from her mind. One day, he could become a threat.

IC: Levacius / w/GarettLevacius looked quzzically at the wall, then up above. "We could climb it?""No, not going to work... quite perculiar. OOC: You can't just get in; currently everyone except for Vertak has been stopped by a dome of metallic leaves blocking the way.IC: Vertak, Matoran Village:Vertak couldn't help but glance at the Matoran again, for she appeared to be near waking and not just in a deep slumber like the others- despite himself, he wondered if there might be a way to wake her up, or to at least get her out of the village.-ibrow

IC:Illume:He watched the others fight that poor beast and that made him feel sad. He turned and started to walk away. Maybe he would find someone who was more civil on the island. He sure hoped so. But he also doubted such an idea.Noir:He jumped from tree to tree as he caught up with the scientist group that had gone off to search for an old Matoran settlement. He hid in the trees and watched those below struggle against something. But he refused to interfere.Kane:Kane walked along the trail and he was singing but then he just started tripping out. He started stringing together random words and creating sentences that made absolutely no sense. He started triggering sonic booms and other loud noises but they would most likely be taken for thunder from the storms. And then just as he had started this odd string of actions. He stopped and continued to walk down the path.

IC: Krokk and Mala, Only Bay Passage. While Tyrana's interview took place, Krokk and Mala approached the fire toa and Rahkshi who had barged in on them earlier. The gesture wasn't out of wanting to socialise with the two - far from it. The beings had already proven themselves to be rather meddlesome, which they could do without. What they wanted, in fact, was to sound out the beings they might end up working with. As their earlier exchange had shown, information on friends and enemies alike was of great worth and importance."Morning" Krokk said shortly. "I'm Krokk, this is Mala. Good to meet you" he lied, and held out a clawed and grubby hand to shake.

OOC: It's just a tree, not a Rahi. Just look at the few last posts on the last page where Vertak discovers the village first for information.Garett / Matoran Village / IC:The Rahkshi shook his head, “It’s seems to be a dome. A huge dome. Too big to be some dormant Rahi, at least in my opinion. Maybe… lifting up?”Garett gripped the overlap of one of the leaves and pulled upwards. A large section lifted with ease and light poured out of the whole, the source being the underside of the leaves.Turning to Levacius, he said, “Oh. You just lift up.”GM IC:The bush was just a… bush. Vertak would not see anything strange about its appearance, but closer inspection would reveal that the bush was, well, breathing. And quick look around the large room (with one door in the back) would reveal that all the Matoran were breathing unanimously with the bush, which really was just moving with the Matoran’s inhales and exhales. And the bush was in bloom, what could that mean? Its small red leaves were bright and fresh, full of life. It was hard to imagine that it could be bare.Meanwhile, the other Researchers, who had followed Vertak’s example with the shield tree, were looking into the other houses and shops, finding even more Matoran, but nothing that seemed significant. For Kane, it appeared the Rhaks were busy, and his little rant went unnoticed. Although the tree roots seemed to trip up his feet more than usual.

OOC: Is the back door the door Vertak came through, or a new one?Vertak:Vertak pulled out his journal again, taking a few seconds to expertly sketch the bush and the female Matoran that seemed more "awake" than the others, jotting down a few notes on the building as he did so. -ibrow

OOC: Sorry about my last post, I confused the Komau with the Suletu.IC: Artorre: Only Bay Passage:Oh, this would be fun.Artorre grabbed the Skakdi's wrist and shook it while trying to look like he was trying to be subtle about his disgust while he was actually making it as obvious as possible. No easy feat, but in his opinion he nailed it."I!" He said obnoxiously loud, trying to appear ignorant and stuck-up, "Am Artorre!" He pulled out his blade and thrust it into the air, simultaneously igniting it into a small fire that was but a fraction of what he could do. He tried the subtly-obvious thing again, this time with a strained look on his face. The fire flickered and went out. He sheathed his sword again.

IC:Illume:He arrived back at camp C after some walking and he sat down on a crate away from the rain. This rainy weather was making him even more depressed by the minute.Noir:He decended from the trees and over to some others. They seemed to be getting into the village. He decided to not sneak around because that would draw too much attention. He would like to see this village because he really just liked exploring and seeing new things.Kane:He was tripped multiple times by the roots of the trees. By the fifteenth time he decided to start watch where he was going. He was now covered in mud and his cloak was very damp."Oopser!" He exclaimed. "I forgot trees have ears right? Sorry trees." He then said to the trees without any sarcasm, he was being completely serious. But then again Kane was insane so what else would you expect.

OOC: No problem.IC: Krokk and Mala, Only Bay Passage. What an indiot thought Krokk. What an arrogant, posturing buffoon. He hoped to the Great Spirit he would never get stuck with this toa. Nevertheless, he kept as calm as possible and pulled out his mace."Impressive" he commented, and set it alight, just as Artorre had done. He kept the unnatural fire alight for several seconds, and then let it drop. "Nice trick".

IC: Vertak, Matoran Village:Vertak stepped through the door that was not the entrance/exit he'd come through, seeing that it was full of bookcases. IC - Dorcha:A headache wasn't a good thing, even though it was slight, but dizziness was worse. The world seemed to zone out regularly once or twice a minute, and his vision wavered if he turned his head.It was a passing thing, a bad blow he had received from a rahi, but it was irksome all the same.As he approached the village, he saw movement. Instinctively, he drew his left sword, hardly pausing in stride. It was probably researchers, but it couldn't hurt to be cautious.OOC: Dorcha is open for interaction, what's going on?

OOC: For the Researchers, they are investigating a Matoran village that is protected by some strange leafy barrier. IC: Only Bay Passage The edge of Tyrana's mouth jerked to upwards to the side, forming a very toothy smile as she said, "I am fairly good at using a sword to quell threats, as well as quick enough to avoid many attacks." IC: Matoran VillageNow with the other Researchers inside the Matoran settlement contained within the tree shield-dome after lifting a section of it, Hios scrutinized a building, looking for anything that might hint at the inhabitants' seemingly everlasting slumber. Nothing seemed to indicate the truth, though, so he decided to look around a different structure. He felt sorrow for the poor Matoran of this place, but also amazement and wonder. How did they manage to stay safe in such a place like this, besides with the help of the tree wall?

IC: Krokk and Mala, Only Bay Passage.Krokk's already giant Skakdi grin ramped up several notches. The wiry toa was obviously built for speed and agility, unlike Krokk, who was tall even for a Skakdi and had shoulders like a bull. He too settled his elbow on the trunk, gripped Artorre's hand and locked gazes with the toa. Among, Skakdi, this was the point at which both contenders would attempt to blind the other with their vision powers, but this was only a friendly, so he refrained."Ready?" he asked. "In 3, 2, 1..."

GM IC: The book was brown with gold embroidery. It was a thick tome, and looked ancient. Inscribed upon the front was the title History of Words and Their Origins: A Tale of Dremskep Progression. If opened with a careful hand, the introduction would read as follows: This book will guide you through the nuances of the language of the past. This particular language is derived from our protector and sustainer. It is his language, although one probably of his own making. This is evidenced by the fact that the words always seem to be simple misspellings. But since he spoke his language and always wrote perfectly in Matoran, we know that misspellings are not the case. We do not know the circumstances of his life, nor do we know why he chose to speak in his own manner. His language has become the language of this island, our home. And as such, we will delve into it and try to explain its contents and meanings, along with how we as Matoran have even changed this language to something different entirely. It has become our language, and yet still its heritage is present. But now we look at the original words, their interpretations and definitions, and how they reflect upon our everyday life. Take this journey with me, as we retrace our steps into the past. So, it was a dictionary of sorts, and an old one at that. Perhaps further reading was required. Garett / Matoran Village / IC: Walking through the abandoned shops with Levacius, Garett stared up at the shield tree in amazement. It was huge.

IC:Illume:He sat on a crate and grew drowsy. He got up and found a hammock under a hastily built shelter. Someone had taken metal poles, stuck them in the mud, and then placed a piece of slightly bent sheet metal over the poles. He guessed this was a Toa of Iron's doing because that seemed most plausable to him.He sat down in the hammock and closed his eyes. And quickly fell asleep...Noir:He followed a Rahkshi and a Toa through a Matoran settlement. He knew neither of thier names but they seemed friendly enough. He looked around and took in his surroundings. Reaching out into the shadows he felt around. He did not know why he did this but he did.Kane:He walked in what circles for what felt like hours but in fact was only a few minutes. He sat on a boulder near the path and started to whistle a tune.

IC: Only Bay Passage:Tyrana paused for a moment, her days as a high-ranking police official coming back to her. There were times where she ordered fellow officers around that were below her, along with recieving orders from those above her. GM IC:Illume’s dreams were anything but peaceful. Strange beasts tore at him while two black eyes laughed at him while they watched his torment. There was nothing refreshing about Illume’s sleep, and he would probably wake up rested physically, but not mentally. A strange thing was, all through the nightmare, he would be able to remember everything.Vertak’s reading revealed that for the most part, the book was greatly run down, and most of the written words were indiscernible. But throughout the tome, several bolded and underlined words jumped out, like someone had been researching something. And in the back several things were written down in a different hand from the one that had written the book.It included several names with lines haphazardly connecting them. The list of names was strange at best.Zreng, Le-Matoran?Sluhahn, here before.Great Fire SpitterSly Water MoverCrafty Wind RiderGentle Care Giver, Gervi’s Terr? Brekkar?Great Earth Mover, Ger Cavors?Frothnarg? Ger Lek? Unmunt Fisnar?Janx / At the Third Rhak’s First Appearance / IC:Janx stretched his arm far down into the rock that had held the Rhak. He thought he had seen something, but he couldn’t be certain. Rifling around with the water that now pooled up in and around where the Rhak had appeared, he felt the hard edges of several smaller rocks.Straining to pull them aside, Janx noticed Laorus and her… pet? He coughed twice, awkwardly, with his arm still rummaging around inside the hollowed out rock. Then he said, “Nice work. Back with the Rhak, that is.“Oh!”Janx pulled up and held out the object that he had recovered. Quickly cleaning it off in the puddle of muddy water at his feet, he realized the object for what it was.A Kanohi, but one so bent and ruffed up that he couldn’t discern the color or what type of mask. It strangely seemed alive to him. Holding it up once again for Laorus to see clearly, he held it out to her, “This thing called. Can you actually wear it to see if… Well. Anything?”

IC:Illume:His dreams were strange, indeed. Not only were they terrifying and realistic but they were also in color. Illume rarely dreamed as it was and when he did they were in black and white. Oh and another thing he could remember every moment of this creepy dream. He woke in a fighting stance with his sword stabbed into a nearby crate. His breathing heavy and he felt as though he had just been fighting. It was all so strange. Good thing no one else was around because that would have been awkward. He rumaged through nearby crates and found some dry paper like material and a piece of coal. Using those he drew what he had seen in his dream. For some unexplainable reason he just had to draw this dream. When he finished, he looked at it and noticed the drawing flawlessly copied how his dreams had looked. Those frightening beasts and those two, aweful, black eyes. He safely tucked the picture under his armor and ran off to find others. He just did not want to be alone right now.OOC:So that's what happens... interesting.

Zreng, Le-Matoran?Sluhahn, here before.Great Fire SpitterSly Water MoverCrafty Wind RiderGentle Care Giver, Gervi’s Terr? Brekkar?Great Earth Mover, Ger Cavors?Frothnarg? Ger Lek? Unmunt Fisnar?IC: Vertak, Matoran Village:Vertak now stared at the list of names, trying to understand what they meant. "Zreng... name of a Le-Matoran. Or some other Matoran, judging by the question mark." Vertak murmured, eyes narrowed in concentration. "Sluhahn, here before- what does that have to do with anything? Great Fire Spitter - a Toa or Matoran of fire. Possibly some even more powerful being? Could it be a Makuta? Sly Water Mover... Craft Wind Rider... Toa of Water and Air respectively, or something else again maybe."The Matoran paused to memorize the lines before continuing down."Gentle Care Giver... could this be the island? Could this have to do with the island we're on?" He wondered. "Giver's tear. Breaker. Gentle Care Giver's Tear Breaker. Someone hurt or killed the Care Giver? Ruined something?"Vertak's mind was being pounded with questions, but nevertheless he continued."Great Earth Mover... if the others referenced Toa, this one could too. Great Cavern... if this is about the island, does that mean there's a giant cavern beneath the surface that must be found? Frothnarg... another name, perhaps. Great Lake... under mount fire snarl... a volcano. A volcano on the island? With a lake and cavern beneath it?"Vertak re-read the lines to be sure he understood.

Garett / Matoran Village / IC:Garett’s mouth hung open. “I don’t know,” he answered Levacius, “But just think of the implications this tree could have. This alone would be worth the trip if we all hadn’t started fighting each other.“Plant Controllers could probably grow this tree at an incredible speed and into any shape they wanted. I wonder if there’s some way to stop the branches from simply being lifted up and out of the way?”Garett shook his head, “But, no, the Matoran first. Let’s make our way through these shop buildings or stores and head for the tree, Matoran might be near the center of the village, I would figure they would find that the safest place to rest if they had the choice.”Janx / With Laorus / IC:Janx glared at the ground in thought, his hand still holding out the warped mask. He spoke his thoughts aloud, momentarily forgetting about Laorus.“Ok, so I felt something from this mask. It’s special. Perhaps you don’t even need to activate it. I don’t even have a proper head for it, though, and it’s not communicating through thought.”The Rahkshi looked up again and startled himself when he saw Doro. “Well,” he said, apparently at Doro, since he was looking straight at the strange… whatever it was, “I don’t have a use for this mask, not even to wear it. I guess my spine is playing tricks on me with all that’s been going on. You… want it? For safe keeping?”GM IC:The first Rhak stood immobile, his gray hid hidden in the foliage, the forest protecting and hiding him. Those two had found Yrllin’s mask, or perhaps it had called to them, if rumors were true.If it had chosen them, he would know soon, and then things would change.Either way, he knew that his brother could easily escape, or already had. Although knowing him, he had let himself get captured just because he wanted to find out these intruders’ real intentions.Jirael was back at her village, back home but still remembering the Le-Matoran remembrance stone. Even if it wasn’t really stone. She sniffed and wiped at her mask, making her way into the leader’s house. Or more half house, half remembrance hall itself. The statues inside gleamed, some fierce and strong, others carefree and joyful. These Rahi had once been great, but they had been mostly forgotten, almost like the Makuta who had once protected her. Or at least. No, it was hard to remember, it was like she was being constantly misinformed. It was hard to think clearly. What had happened recently? One second she was at the shrine, the next, back home.Oh yes, she had been researching with the leader. Something about a sixth Rahi in some ancient texts. Well, ancient was a relative term, half the original Matoran of her village had been around since the first Matoran appeared on Dremskep.Once again her mind was sidetracked. Dremskep, the supposed naming of her island by the Makuta who had abandoned her and her people. Or was he killed? No. Impossible. Why couldn’t anyone around her remember? They had spent most of their lives with the legendary Rahi and the great Makuta of their island, and yet now it seemed as if only old books spoke of them.Something had happened, but her head wasn’t clear.Jirael paused, the bush in bloom before her had not been there before, in the middle of the house/sanctuary. She looked down to see a bed before her, sleep suddenly tugging at her. She gave in and lay down, wondering where her friends were. She hadn’t seen them since…Wait. She was dreaming already. Those eyes. Those horrible eyes. She hadn’t seen them, their hold on her was waning, but her friends weren’t let go, and so she couldn’t see them?Lying in the bed, too scared to move anything except for her eyes, she saw something white and transparent. It was a Matoran like her, but she had never seen him before. What was he doing here? And why… were all her friends lying around her? The strange Matoran went in the back room where the leader kept her study books and Jirael wondered what was going on.No one had told her that had visitors. They never had visitors. Where was her leader, anyway? Why had she-The Matoran of Plant Life screamed; the eyes were staring at her. Sucking at her soul. There was nothing she could do, not even move. They glared at her for a horrifying long time and then simply vanished.Suddenly gasping, she realized she had been holding her breath. A weight seemed to be lifted from her and she had a sudden urge to hear her island’s name, the way the Makuta supposedly said it.She paused, as if struck by sudden memory loss. How had she gotten to this bed? Why was she in the leader’s house? What was the bush above her as she lay there?Jirael breathed deep and closed her eyes.Meanwhile, her sleeping body had been spasming like crazy, surely drawing the attention of anyone alert in the building. She kept muttering, “He promised. Our dreams. Will be kept. He promised. Our dreams. Kept. We will live. He promised,” over and over again.

IC: Levacius / Matoran VillageLevacius scanned the area, inspecting the whole region. "Do you have any engineers on the team?" he asked. "With the proper materials - easily provided with elemental powers - we could replicate the equipment back at the camp, and try to set up a second research post here. The shield tree, properly secured, could hold off external threats from the Forfeiters or this third faction of Hunters we've been told about. Or any rogue factions that pop up from the fourth boat.""The Rhak would be a problem, but the presence of architecture here already assumes that it - or they - want to leave the village intact. I doubt there would be an attack here. Still, a wall of stone between those two buildings..."He traced an invisible line from a building marked as 'Carpenter' and another, larger one he couldn't discern. "... would block out any north eastern intrusion. Perhaps some other areas like that could be found."He stopped. "I mean, this is all hypothetical. I've read a few books and stuff on ancient warfare. I'm just a scientist, after all."At the rate of their walking, he figured they'd be near the village center soon.OOC: So does the Shield Tree cover the entire village? Or are there other trees underneath it? Or is it only over most of the village? I'm not completely certain...-Toa Levacius Zehvor :flagusa:
