Do You Ever Say A Characters Name Differently?

Recommended Posts

I think I try to say them all correctly, but some of them I'm not always sure about. Those that I'm unsure of I usually try to find the etymology and figure out what the pronunciation would be.

Lewa and Vezon. I say Loo-wa for some reason, and Vezon like everyone else here. Also Tahu, Gali, etc. I say as Ga or Ta instead of Gah or Tah like they say in the movies. That's just my Canadian-ness coming out, though.

Lewa = Lew-uh. Always has, always will. Onewa = Wun-wuh. While I don't mind On-nee-wuh, I was pronouncing Wun-wuh in 2001 and it just feels right to me. Kind of like how Taipu wears a Ruru and Kapura wears a Pakari, darnit. Dume = Doom. "Dew-muh" just leaves me meh... even though I don't usually like "Let's use a word to reflect the character!" names, like General Grievous. I mean, Grievous? I suppose his lieutenant is Colonel Inflicts Pain, too. aaand I know there's others but I don't remember them right now. Also, Jala and Huki are Tohunga. Get it right! :P - Heir

Actually, they explained Grievous's name. Look it up on Wookieepedia some time. Edited by Zarohum
