OOC: ...NPC bashing...

Aaaaaaw heeeeeeeeck noooooooo.

IC: Agent 207

Wait for it...

Veronica, known as 207 to those in the SpecOps group was currently positioned farther away from the fight thent he other snipers, for a good reason. Still wearing the form-fitting stealth suit, she was a few hundred meters back, a high-powered rifle in her hands. The weapon itself was suppressed, and quite possibly one of the longest range weapons they had. The reason she had it? Well... Being one of the best marksmen avaliable might have halped. She was currently lying prone at the top of a building quite some distance away, set up on a tripod before her was the sniper rifle.

She was currently using phosphorus rounds, and when fired from the rifle that she was holding... Hurt didn't begin to describe it.

OOC: Feel free to notice and stop pointless NPC bashing.

IC: Heka put his sniper rifle away, drawing his assault rifle and running closer, opening fire on the Brotherhood.

IC: Nate stopped eating his sandwich and sighed, picking up his bow and looking around before setting his sights on a long range sniper (Veronica). The only reason he found her was his trajectory estimation. He fired a highspeed arrow. With any luck, she wouldn't see it coming.

IC: Jared clutched his stomach and ran down the hall after Nicole. "ZC, whatever you do, don't have one of those."

No such thing as destiny.

IC: Agent 207

Clink!

Veronica's head whipped towards the side, imbedded in the roof not a foot away was an... Arrow? The assassin immeadiately rolled away, she'd heard too many stories of people who liked to use explosives in combination with arrows. Holding the large rifle across her body, she managed to put some distance between herself and the projectile shot at her.

There, she stopped, and quickly set the high-powered sniper up again, this time aiming towards where the arrow had been shot from. Finding someone who might have been the one to shoot it, Veronica focused the crosshairs on him, before pulling the trigger.

IC: Asura laughed maniacally as he gave chase to a another sniper who was parked in the building he had leaped into. The first sniper hadn't been particularly hard to get the drop on; When Asura had jumped, the sniper had attempted to shoot him out of the air. Asura let the bullet ricochet off of him, then returned fire, the pressure blast obliterating the window, and sending the sniper flying. Once inside, Asura made short work of the dazed and hurt sniper, but felt more bullets ping off of him.

Whipping around, he saw a backup sniper backpedaling calmly, turning to run as soon as Asura began to follow, leading to Asura's current situation.

Turning a corner, Asura was blindsided by a gun butt, which, to be honest, didn't do anything, but it distracted Asura enough for another soldier to grab at his legs and yank. Asura stumbled forward, only his strength and metallized weight stopping him from simply falling on his face. The two soldiers who had blindsided him tackled his back simultaneously, dropping the off balance Asura to the floor, a round object impacting his stomach as he landed on it.

Asura growled and pushed up violently, the soldiers tumbling off to the sides, getting up, and running to rejoin the first sniper, after which the trio began running again. Asura picked up the object he had landed on with a snarl, eyes widening as he took in the grenade.

The explosion nearly blasted Asura back outside of the building. Not for the first time, Asura thanked whatever deities had chosen to bless him with the abilities he had as he dragged himself out of the wall in the next room. Asura's blessing was cut short, however, as once his feet touched the floor, a freeze grenade exploded at his feet, freezing him from the waist down to the spot.

When bullets began pinging of of his skull again, Asura roared angrily, and simply thrust both hands forward, pressure blasts tearing across the room, and blowing the trio of soldiers back through the hole in the wall they had advanced from.

A fist to the ice cracked it enough for Asura to gain a bit of foot wiggle room, whereupon which he kicked free of the ice, and leaped through the hole, landing on one of the soldiers. Asura drove his fist into the soldiers skull, the super-strength/adamantium combination killing the soldier almost instantly. The other soldier and the sniper attempted to pincer around Asura, but Asura simply fired a pressure blast at the soldier, blasting him into a wall. Asura followed up immediately, dashing in and planting his fist in the soldier's stomach, then firing another pressure blast at point blank range.

When Asura turned to finish off the sniper, the sniper was no longer there, footsteps echoing through the room as the sniper beat a sound retreat down the hall.

Asura snarled, but grinned. "Well isn't this fun?"

OOC: Otter. That time where Luka tried to break into the mansion. You wont find it under my posts because Flex took control of him (with my permission) to advance the plot.

IC: Rapture:

"Alright, Giant wolves, magical chains, enslavement... Aha!" She exclaimed mentally transfering the information to Romulus. Rapture grinned, she had done her job.

"Now, more importantly... Don't mind if I keep her," She said, tilting her head at the Asgardian.

IC: NPC

"Yes," The speaker said, "I would perfer to keep him at home, but he's been causing some problems. Not on purposly. He caused a power outtage at the school on the last day, and accidently caused the bus to ignite... And other children know he's a mutant to and he's recieved... Some negative messages."

IC: ???/Wild Card:

He looked on sadly as the brownies were carried off.

"Well... Now what?"

IC: Chris Marie:

Chris was headed back towards the manor.

IC: Aether:

Will was waiting for Natalie to give the order to move out.

IC: Balrog:

Balrog moved through the back alley of the city, away from the gunfire. Every step he took resulted in the sound of ground temporarily igniting, only for the fire to extinguish in the cold, unable to burn the stone. He'd have to find a way out of the city and to someplace more... Discrete.

OOC: I'm done. I'm completely done here. I expected a battle not the standard "We're PC's not NPC's and can kill them all without waiting for the guy in control of them to respond." I am sick of this immunity to common sense, basic tactics...y'know, if you people want to beat up on cardboard soldiers fine. If you want to have a power fantasy, fine. But next time warn me so I can be in another RP.

IC: Agent 207

Through her rifle's scope, Veronica saw her bullet impact the cover the bowman had immeadiately ducked behind after firing. The phosphorus ate a nice hole in the metal, but sadly, it didn't seem to have hit him. Mostly because he popped up again, and another arrow thudded down next to her. This one had a bit more of an effect, as smoke suddenly began spewing out of the arrow.

A curse came from the agent, and she quickly donned the gasmask-like device on her suit. The smoke began to block out her vision, until she flipped down the heat-sensing lenses on her helmet. While is obscured her depth perception a bit, it was better than not seeing at all. Her position on the roof was too exposed, so she grabbed the sniper and tripod, and holding it under her arm, moved inside the building.

From there, she went down a flight of stairs, before taking up a position from a window facing the battle. From there, she once again began to look for targets... But her movement might have given some of the Brotherhood time to move in on her position.

OOC: Then maybe mention what tactics it is your soldiers are using. Because all you've given the brotherhood to work with is that you have snipers and they're firing from all angles. What are they supposed to do with that other than strike out with the enormously destructive mutant powers they have? Do the snipers have some sort of close-combat specialists for back-up to deal with threats closing in on them? Do they have orders to retreat to better ground? Do they have other snipers covering them? Have you booby-trapped the ground to hinder speedsters like Quicksilver? Come on man, details, show us that the Brotherhood are against brilliant tacticians and skilled warriors. Otherwise its just you demanding we all quail before your super-duper special forces guys while you pick off just as many, if not more, NPCs than the Brotherhood which makes me wonder who exactly is on the power fantasy here.

IC: Song clacked her tongue as Shaw dismissed the guards. Now she had no easy way of keeping up with the events in the atrium. Ah well, the fun seemed to be over anyway. And since it seemed Novocain would be sticking around he'd probably be telling everyone all about it every chance he got

OOC: Well, if people have waited for me to arrive instead of assuming I didn't, perhaps we would be having a different conversation. I have learned, through hard trail and error, that revealing everything your force is packing OOC leads to some interesting guesses on the part of certain people IC.

Instead, auto-hitting, NPC bashing etc. But, by all means, continue. The commando's only have superior range, complete surprise and training on their side. When has that ever won a battle?

IC Gamemaster"... so that's all Mr. Gamble. You may go now." Wyatt nodded and got up from his chair. He and Robert had had a very long talk about the company; not that it was in trouble, but just about general stuff. Wyatt was concerned about Robert's lack of mention of the research department. Oh well, nothing too big. Arriving baack at the Hellfire mansion, he walked inside. "Novocain still here?" he asked.

Instead, auto-hitting, NPC bashing etc. But, by all means, continue. The commando's only have superior range, complete surprise and training on their side. When has that ever won a battle?

OOC: If people are miraculously guessing exactly what your commandoes are equipped with and are planning to do with that equipment then they're metagaming and you can call them out on that.

I always find it weird when people try to use that argument. If you're saying people should listen to the rules more, that includes the one on metagaming, why would that one get left out?

I'm sure it wins plenty of battles against normal human adversaries. Problem is you're against people who can become bullet-proof, throw trucks with their bare hands or control the fundamental forces of the universe. Your tactics need to adapt to reflect that. I mean, whats range against someone like Quicksilver who can just zoom up to you in the blink of an eye? Whats markmanship or white phosphorus against an adamantium Asura? Personally I would have opened fire with snipers while the brotherhood were still in the building, using the limited space inside to hem them in and prevent them fully using some of their more destructive powers, and preventing them just smashing the sniper's positions since it would bring the building down on them. You gave them room to manoeuvre and sort of gave away the element of surprise by bombing their hideout, don't complain when that backfires on you. Instead of moaning that your troops are at a disadvantage when facing superpowered mutants, do something about it

IC: "Roger that," Anton replied to Zanebono, climbing aboard the chopper and strapping himself in

OOC: I remember him breaking into the mansion, and I remember myself giving Flex permission to have control of Luka since I wasn't doing anything with him. However, I don't recall ever agreeing to let you have your character copy-paste the memories, personality, and powers of mine, able to re-use them whenever he wants. I don't quite recall ever even wanting to be a part of that character's plot.

OOC: I’m sorry you feel that way Basilisk, I did not know you planned on controlling every one of your NPCs, and I was under the impression there were quite a lot of them, since I said Brotherhood NPCs were being killed I assumed we were allowed to kill the spec-ops ones as well, it will be an interesting fight the Brotherhood is pinned down right now, but they have to fight back.

If you are leaving, do you want me to take over the assault on the Brotherhood base? It can’t just cease. We can continue the fight and allow you to wait to RP each of the spec-ops commandos from now on unless you’re adamant about quitting.

I don’t recall that instance either AuRon, I’m starting to feel like Wild Card is a bit over-powered since he can bring back any mutants power he touched ever at his whim, and the fact he can turn into massive creatures he’s never seen before like a dragon. I think he should stop bringing back people’s powers at will; he needs to touch another mutant for it to work, and no more dragons.

Also is one shot from a phosphorus bullet completely lethal to anyone?

IC: Nicole (X-Manor)

“I’m glad you like them,” she smiled. "No they aren't poisoned!" she said. "I ate three myself,"

IC: Romulus (Hellfire Mansion)

“Excellent,” he grinned. “You have your uses Rapture,” he grinned.

"Keep her if that is what you want; she is of no use to me now." he said. "If you want I could implant false memories in her head to make her loyal to you..."

IC: Beast (X-Manor)

“Well I can offer that you bring him here to meet with me and try to learn to help control his powers, but it would be better for you and everyone around him if he stayed here, at least until his powers are under control.”

IC: West Sheen, Omega One (Above Brotherhood Warehouse)

Sheen stood on the edge of his air-craft. The wind rattled his armor as he looked down at the battle below. It seemed the spec-ops soldiers were doing a good job of keeping the Brotherhood at bay. He stepped off of the plane and activated his thrusters before sweeping low over the battle. He unleashed a laser blast at Luka. The Enforcers had arrived. Already Enforcers wearing Crossfire armor were being deployed all over the ground, the spec-ops had the sniper-fire covered; it was time for some infantry.

Suddenly a massive mech landed on the buildings nearby. Logan smirked and pressed the buttons on his joy-sticks as sonic missiles lanced out towards the Brotherhood.

OOC: Gravity can have em if he wants. Thank for you being accommodating, but at this point, in the view of some, this would be you bowing to applied pressure. I appreciate the offer, I really do. But I'll be leaving all the same. I'm not cut out for this RP.

IC:

(Scott)

"No, i'm good." If anyone could have sen Scott's face right then, it would of been as pale as paper. "Good, gods. Ezekiel, we need to get beast, right now. The Brotherhood is under attack." Scott had left open a window with a news station on, it was showing live coverage of the attack.

(Lexie)

Lexie had moved up the building, running into Asura. She saw the dead bodies, and consumed them all, very quickly. She then looked outside, and, fro the first time in a very long time, was afraid. So many in crossfire armor, and that mecha pilot. One voice in her head screamed luder then the others one word. Brother. Over and over. She then went right for the Giant Mecha, ready to bring it down.

(Carli)

Carli came on, ready to fight.

War...war never changes.

we sweat, all day long for you.

we wait, to reap what we are due.

OOC: Well...

Okay then.

IC:

Despite taking losses, the SpecOps snipers continued to lay down covering fire, even more so when the Enforcers arrived to take some of the Brotherhood mutants off their backs. Bullets pinged off of rubble from the explosion, making walking out of cover quite dangerous to those who weren't immune to high-powered phosphorus rifle rounds. Even those that were would find it hard to move any considerable distance, as the snipers coordinated their attacks via radio and indivdual spotters. While the bullets themselves might not do any damage, kinetic energy transferred from multiple high-powered rounds might.

Rifles weren't the only thing in their armory, it seemed, as more than once an explosion rocked the area, sending debris flying. Rocket propelled grenades were handy to have, it seemed. the smoke trails left by the rockets created a crisscross patter over the area. Elsewhere, a team of SpecOps operatives were setting up a portable mounted machine gun, and it seemed that soon it would start filling the area with a dangerous rain of bullets.

OOC: For clarification: I will be taking control over individual NPCs. All are open for attack, granted you can find them, but try not to go overboard with it. ;)

IC: 415Whoosh, thunk. An arrow buried itself in the ground at Nate's feet. It made some loud chirping sounds and promptly exploded in a shower of dust and shrapnel. Aaron pulled back the cord on his crossbow and pressed another bolt into the chamber, then placed the weapon aside and pulled out his rifle. The loud cracks of the unsupressed, high-powered weapon filled the air as he laid down very accurate covering fire for the team setting up the machine gun.

IC: As Magnitude was quickly discovering, growing sixty feet tall was great for dealing with mobs of Enforcers...but less so when there's am organised group of well-armed snipers. In fact it made him a bit of a target. To buy himself a bit of time while being peppered with bullets, he swung one massive arm in a broad sweeping, sending the clouds of smoke and phosphorus vapour swirling away from him and towards an area infested with the gunmen

OOC: Just to point out Gravity it wasn't the arm that was supposed to do the damage. He didn't actually hit anything with it. It was the fact that he's just sent a cloud of noxious fumes towards them with the backdraft

---

OOC: Aaaaand that's my fault. Last time I make a post in a rush. :P Now I'm feeling all derpy...

Consider it retconned here...

IC:

The swirling fumes of toxic gas spread out over the area, blanketing the ground with a thick haze. Around, the sounds of coughing was adding to sharp crack of the firearms. The SpecOps soldiers that were wearing full armor and helmet mere dropped behind cover, before lowing a heat-filter over their vision. This masks provided a moderate amount of air filtering, enough to keep the gases out of their system. Those that were lightly equipted did their best to retreat, but it was slow going with the fog surrounding them. The advance was slowed momentarily, but it wouldn't take long for the fog to clear.

Not that far away, the mounted machine gun was finally set up, and with a burly man taking aim with it, all six barrels roared to life, spraying armor piercing rounds at the massive being. Now it seemed the SpecOps group was playing support, letting the Enforcers take the Brotherhood mutants one-on-one.

IC: Ezekiel (X-Mansion)

Ezekiel stared at the screen as he put the candy cane back in the basket. He silently considered what Scott was saying. Did the Brotherhood really deserve our help? The X-Men could just let both groups, Enforcers and Brotherhood alike, destroy each other in the battle. The world would be safer....

415 pulled his own gas mask over his face and initiated the thermal filter. His view through the scope of his crossbow was dominated by Magnitude's heat signature, so he simply aimed up towards the giant's head and fired, sending an explosive bolt through the air and at his target's chest area.

OOC: Alright man ;( I wish we could have worked it out, I hate to see such good characters go to waste just because of a few dead NPCs.

Yeah I’ll say Manuel and Rasputin vanish, perhaps they decided they didn’t like how the X-Men did things anyway.

Hellfire has a kidnapped Asgardian.

IC: Logan (Brotherhood/Enforcer Battle)

Logan sneered as a mutant charged towards him, “How very foolish,” he said. He drew his beam-scythe and then slashed at the mutant with it, followed up by some chain-gun rounds towards her.

IC: Scorcher (Brotherhood/Enforcer Battle)

Kane felt an explosion break out nearby; heat washed over him and sent him flying as rubble burst around him, pelting him and bruising his skin. Scorcher grimaced and dived behind cover as Enforcer soldiers began to touch down around him. He created a whip of flame and lashed out with it; wrapping it around a Enforcer soldier before pulling him too him and finishing him off with a huge blast of flame, cooking him inside his armor.

IC: Nicole (X-Manor)

“Sure,” she said. “And yeah I’m her,” she said before looking over at Dallas.

IC: Romulus (Hellfire Mansion)

“Yes you are but altering and removing memories is a special skill of mine,” he grinned. “If you’ve never done it before, which I doubt you have it will be difficult, even for your telepathic strength.”

IC: Beast (X-Manor)

“Then I suppose I should come to you then?” he asked. “Perhaps some time tomorrow? Tonight is Christmas Eve after all…”

IC: Triblade (X-Manor)

Matt’s hand tightened into a fist when he heard the Brotherhood was under attack. You’re an X-Man… you were only with them for two months, it doesn’t matter Pietro is your uncle…

“I want to help them… but I feel that Ezekiel is right, it would be better if the X-Men weren’t seen aiding the Brotherhood so soon…”

IC: Mimic (X-Manor)

“The Brotherhood members are people too! Mutants like us! And not all of them are killers, I wasn’t.” she said.

IC: Amaterasu

Dodging the sonic missles were hard enough, but if the mech kept on attacking, there would be some trouble.

Amaterasu ran towards the mech. Her plan counted on whether the mech was flexible enough to scratch itself.

She quickly created a shield that intercepted the slash towards Lexie, and quickly ran.

OOC: Is the mech standing on the buildings or just hovering over them? And how tall is it (in the metric system, please.)

IC: Witch

"CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ON A POTENTIALLY RISKY RESCUE MISSION TO GET MY BROTHER?"

IC: Asura frowned as he walked slowly through the halls of the buildings, not so much as flinching as the remaining nearby windows were rocked and rattled by the explosions outside. The sniper he had been chasing was still around. Of this, Asura was sure. But every time Asura got close, the rat managed to reposition himself. The chase was beginning to drag on longer than Asura was looking for.
