My first three sets were given to me on my birthday in 2002. I got Pohatu, Turaga Onewa, and Tahnok Bohrok of Fire.

Forgive me for my spelling if I messed something up. I haven't kept up with everything the way I used to a few years ago.

My mom would use to take me to Toys 'R Us a few weeks before Christmas to browse and write down my list for "Santa". I was in first grade and saw some Bionicle sets on the store shelves. That started my obsession.

Posted

My first set was Toa Onua back in 2001. My mom took me shopping and decided to buy me a present. Needless to say, I have been hooked to Bionicle since.

Posted

my first was Whenua Metru, as a birthday present in 2004. ironically enough, it was from a cousin who wasn't even remotely interested in Bionicle until three years later.

It began in 20011, when i was 9, and i got vesok and avak for £5 altogether from the local car boot sale, new in the box. The rest, as they say, is history. Yeah, I began late. :P

Funny story, i wanted this big ol mega block set, my dad said, no you won't be able to build it, so the next day i saw a bionicle. I picked that up and pretty much out of spite said. i'm going to do it and i'm going to show him i can build. So thats how i got Toa Kopaka at K-mart.

Some of my friends (LoTR_Nui and Vezonthebabbler) introduced me to them.

Then one time while walking through Wal-Mart, I saw a palette of Vahki.

The rest is history.

Also-

I got my first Bionicle sets at Target. They were Rahkshi Panrahk, Piraka Hakann, and Toa Inika Nuparu.

How on earth is that possible?

On a road with my cousin, who has since disappeared from the face of the earth. I got Kongu and Macku from McDonald's. However, these stayed up in my garage until 2006, when I bought Balta and Kazi. Somewhere during that time, Macku lost her arms. I recently sold Kongu. Not my best idea.

All six Turaga were ordered from a Lego magazine by my grandfather when I was 11 years old. This is when Lego first unveiled them in their magazine mind you. I also eventually got Onua Mata, Gali Mata, and Tahu Mata. From then on my collection expanded depending on my level of interest.

"There was no way that was an ordinary Toa, no Toa killed like this. No Toa fought so mercilessly. This hooded thing had single handedly killed hundreds of his Rahkshi children with twin gleaming swords. No that was no Toa.... that thing was Death himself....

I think me and my dad saw it in the Lego store and i wanted vakama cause red used to be my favorite color. Also i wonder sometimes if my dad was just getting tired of me smashing all my starwars sets then asking them to be rebuilt :P so we got something i could build.

one day this will contain greatness only the best. But take this with the ocean of salt then you will know what to expect from this

I was at a Toys R Us back in 2002, and I picked up Gali Nuva, naturally because blue is my favorite color. I didn't know that Gali was female back then, so I decided that "he" would be the King of Bionicles.

If you want to count it, my first Bionicle was the McToran Huki on the way home from McDonald's.

If you don't count that, I got my first Bionicle in Legoland: Toa Mata Kopaka.

Jeez I feel old saying my first Bionicles were from the very beginning in 2001.

But those were good times...good times...

Seems legit.

My first two sets were Onua Nuva and Pohatu Nuva. One day, I was at my friend's house, and they had several Bionicle sets. I built my first MOC (A Toa of lightning and energy, I believe. Keep in mind, this is 2003-ish), and I loved it. I made it clear to my parents, and for Christmas, I believe, I got those two fateful canisters. Now, several thousand dollars later, I managed to collect a ton of sets, but I passed them down to my siblings. Now I'm starting over, beginning with the Toa Mata I just won on eBay! Wish me luck! :)
