IC: Nekka

Nekka sighed as Ashala told her that going to Ko-Koro meant suicide.  After all, she knew that whatever was strong enough to take over one of the islands' six main villages must have been strong.

Her attention shifted towards the matoran that Ashala had healed.  Poor guy, she thought, who would harm these people?  And what for?

Nekka closed her eyes for a moment as she pondered to herself.  What can I do to help? she thought.

"Is there anything we can do?"  Nekka said to Ashala and Londar.  Nekka truly wanted to help in any way.  That's just how she is.  Even for matoran standards she's really kind.

She was home.

Eutuchia you fruitcake I was gone A WEEK. Oh I am so going to hook you up with some portly bum in the mailroom you son of a--

She supposed this time she couldn't blame her dainty assistant. As soon as she passed through the gates, the Akiri had been hearing jubilant celebration at the arrival in force of a Dasaka expedition - ladies and commodores and guards alike had come, and she found herself hailed by Matoran and Toa alike while trying to weave her way back to her hut. She waved, hugged, and dodged her way into the airtight ring the Marines had erected with their persons around her home. She found various Dasaka and Dashi (that was what she'd been told they were called, right? Right? Dashi?) and saluted one with three fingers. Standing up on her tiptoes, Hahli found Toa Leah was already inside talking to several Menti.

Score.

She walked inside the hut and smiled graciously.

"I'm sorry I'm late," she said. "There's...traffic. Kotu, could you bring me Eutuchia?" The Ga-Matoran broke off gracefully from Hahli's tail of escorts and loitered off to find the Matoran while Hahli turned to the two Menti talking to Leah. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure, ladies."

"Hahli you just had to walk past me to tell Kotu to find me," Eutuchia said, his voice slightly quavering. "I can't believe you'd just be completely unable to notice me like that. That hurts, Hahli, it really does."

And if you think I'm serious right now I will never stop laughing at you.

IC (Leah):

A smile made its way onto Leah's face as she heard the voice from the door, confirming the return of the Akiri and it was good to have her back. She was only the village protector after all, she did not decide for them - that was Hahli's duty.

"Akiri Hahli, meet the envoys of the Dasaka empire."

IC: Ashala

"You truly are a caring soul," Ashala said to Nekka. "I think we could become best friends with time, but yea what he said we have to report this to the the athourties and make sure the Akiri knows, let's head Into the village." She said as she walked down the beach towards the gate.

IC: Nekka

Nekka began following Ashala toward the gates Ga-Koro.  I hope the matoran in Ko-Koro are alright... Nekka thought to herself.  She was terribly concerned about the situation.

Labelle moaned quietly, wrapping arms around her abdomen as the Hunger clawed at her stomach. She steeled herself against the pain, as she had hundreds of time before, trying to ignore the less obvious scar that had come with the Mark.

Looking up at the mirror, she stared in disgust at the more noticeable effects.

Half her jowl missing, scars running up and down her body. Skin that had once been silky smooth was now rough and damaged, dark blotches of discolorment scattered here and there. She ran a hand down her face, still in disbelief that beneath it was not the beautifully full visage she'd been born with. How she dreamed of returning to normal, of being the prettiest in any room. Labelle hadn't thought much of it back then before the disfigurement, but now it was all she dreamed about.

Minutes later she looked away, putting on the rags she usually wore including a veil to hide her face.

Labelle looked around the house. It was nice and spacious, with hints of wealth everywhere. The gold candlesticks, the embossed mirror with a gild frame. And of course, it wasn't hers. Labelle had killed the previous owner, and old hag with no family to inherit her and so recluse no one noticed her absence. The Toa of Water had taken her time then, using the Turaga to satiate her sadistic Hunger for as long as possible. Her life had ended nearly a month ago, and Labelle hadn't been able to feed herself since.

It's for the best really she thought, this practice will help me control in the future.

She opened the front door, leaving and heading into the Koro.

...

Labelle found something interesting.

A group of three Toa and Turaga, talking. But that wasn't what was strange. The odd thing was that the Turaga and one of the Toa were clearly not from around Ga-Koro, probably not Mata-Nui either. She made her way over to the group, limping as she did, kept a small distance away and soon found herself staring at the foreign Toa. She was cute, not as much as Labelle had been, but still pretty. Labelle felt a pang of jealousy in addition to the Hunger, and grimaced. She drove the thought away, keeping her mind on who these people wore.

LoJak was still with the diplomatic party, having accompanied them to Hahli's hut.

He waited still for formalities to end.

"Hello Akiri Hahli. It is good to meet you. As Toa Leah has said, we're envoys of the Dasaka Empire. I believe you had contact with a previous expedition, I really must thank you, Toa Leah, and your villagers for being such gracious hosts to us. Toa Leah was just talking to us about a serious matter. Regarding the Chaotic Six, though to you they are known as the Piraka. Bringing them to justice is one of our reasons for being, and now we know for certain they are here," I said. I wish I didn't have to talk about the Piraka, but it wasn't nice to leave the leader of the village out of the loop. That and everyone was positively itching to strike out now, and chase the Piraka down. Yes Commodore, perhaps we can strike an alliance to defeat them. Seeing as they have found allies? It is their island, and I do want to make sure we don't step on any toes while we are here of course.

"I can't speak for the others, but I'm sure you will finds swords for your cause, mine included. The Piraka have brought nothing but chaos to both our lands, and it would only be fitting for us to unite against them" LoJak said, finally speaking up.

He doubted that the Piraka were the Dasaka's sole reason for being on Mata-Nui, but fighting with them would certainly give LoJak a chance to determine their true motives, whether it was good or bad.

"Some guy with an inflated opinion of himself who sounded like he was trying to pick up one of our dignitaries here right after they landed and followed them over here like a complete stalker," Eutuchia supplied helpfully. "We've all been ignoring him. He was remaining relatively quiet until now."

"Well alright then, sounds good." Darien said with a nod, consequently they had arrived at the restaurant. "This the place Captain?"

"I was not trying to... 'pick up' any of the dignitaries. I was offering my aid to the entire group.

"And I am Toa LoJak, of the Sarsi" he said, puffing up his chest with pride. The team had become minor celebrities not long ago, thanks to Theriss selling action figures of themselves. It was a little immature, but LoJak thought he and the others had begun to to make an impression on the population and helping them rebuild after Makuta's region. That was something he was proud of.

"Riiiight." Hahli shrugged at the bewildering arrival and looked back to the two Dasaka. "I just came from Ta-Koro, to the south. These...Piraka you speak of blew up an inn, vandalized one of our island's sacred temples, and killed about two dozen people. Any information you have on them and their abilities would be repaid duly."

"So you're more like a construction and home-repair company looking to branch off into toy making?" Eutuchia asked, smirking. "We could probably contract you out if you're the former, although the latter isn't a very promising market. Explains why we've been seeing a lot of little Toa toys in the trash lately."

"Fortunately, there were few attacks in Ga-Koro after the fall of Makuta so we were able to provide more constructively.  But we were always prepared to fight to defend this village from any attacks - I myself fought in the defence of Ko-Koro during Makuta's last push with his Rahkshi."

His pride was a little hurt from being told the toys had been thrown out, but LoJak didn't let it phase him. Pride led to drinking and he wasn't going to start that again.

"So. Construction team, basically. If you want we could hire you out as contractors for a job here or there. Or, if you want to stick with the whole defender idea, you could join the marines. You'd actually get paid and you'd actually be a part of the command structure rather than potentially causing problems yourself, like you were just about doing earlier with these Dasaka here."

LoJak wasn't sure what to say. The idea of becoming a registered defender of the village, of officially contributing to the welfare of Ga-Koro was interesting, enticing even. But it was something he'd never tried before. In his old life he'd been a mercenary, and after that he'd joined a Toa team. He'd be lying to himself if the prospect of losing that freedom didn't scare him.

"I'm part of a Toa team, I can't just abandon them" he said after a pause.

"But maybe we, or I, can train with the Marines. If there's ever some sort of emergency, the Sarsi would be able to quickly integrate into the fighting force."

The Toa of water turnee to make sure Nekka was following her, the guards at the gate of Ga-Koro recognized her.

One of them arched a brow at Londar who was in her arms. "Please somethinr awful has happened, can you lead us to the Marine HQ?" She asked. The guard nodded his mask.

"Right this way."

So this was the infamous Tupua Liano had heard so much about. Vail hadn't been kidding about befriending Death.

"I'm from Onu-Koro." he stated, treading lightly. "Took up hunting and left to explore the island, though I work at a local butcher shop now."

He hoped they hadn't told Tupua about the Sarsi. It was slightly embarrassing.

"Look, I get this a lot," said the captain morosely.

Everytime. They always asked about her sisters. Always. It was like she couldn't do anything without people associating her with her sisters. All she wanted to do was feel some pride at the accomplishment of one of them, and then people would ask: "which one?", and those who didn't know would also start associating her with having a ridiculous amount of siblings that she really didn't have to hear them say it all the time.

"Okaaaaaay," I mumbled, looking around innocently, trying to appear disinterested with the ongoing saga of Captain Treize and her unspecified-number-of-but-at-least-nineteen siblings, flipping another Dragon absently in my hand, pushing down the urge to light up another smoke, definitely not caring about Treize's family, spotting Akimoto gawking at the metal in the village, not thinking about Treize's sisters--

Whoa, hold up.

"Hey, Aki! Over here!"

"Hey. Wait up a sec."

When Tillian slid in front of Liara's door smoothly and blocked the knob with a hand, Liara had turned so red and clenched her fists so hard that he thought she might kick down the door with him still in front of it.

"I want to apologize again," he said quickly, "for not being able to take a hint. Please don't crush my spine with your femme fatale leg of pain kay open sesame brah."

"Apology accepted. Even if you were pretty dense." The Le-Toa doctor commented dryly, turning the door knob after prying the Ba-Toa's hand off of it. "Staying annoyed with you is harder than it should be."

Liara slipped past the surfer into her house, tossing her supplies back down on the table next to the door. She gestured around with a hand, indicating the room surrounding them. She had lead them to the side door to bypass the clinic, so they instead entered into her living room. Her hand paused briefly to gesture at the couch, again at the kitchen, and again at the stairs.

"Make yourself at home. Mi casa es su casa."
