How about a barter system? Solves two problems: Where to get the money and what to do with it.

That sounds more reasonable. But how many students have something that's worth trading for food?

You could go to Nynrah(The island, not town) and find stuff. Or make stuff. There are a lot of possibilities.

Hey, we never said the translation dictionaries were anywhere near complete. It could just be a small one made by Tridax or something.

Yes. I mentioned this in my post.

I was thinking about that. But what would people trade?

Phoenix, plasma can't stop or even slow an axe. It's only as dense as air. And spitting acid??

According to rahkshi abilities they can drip acid (which I believe is from the kraata's mouth). Also in the Bionicle world apparently plasma is super heated. It doesn't block the attack completely but the heat should dull the blade reducing the damage.

Looking at BS01 and Bionicle Wikia, and I don't see anything on either of them about Rahkshi being able to spit acid. Whats your source for them being able to do that?

I can see what you mean about the axe thing though, the plasma coating is essentially melting he blade away before it can touch you

Can drip plasma like acid to burn through surfaces.

This seems to imply that they can use plasma in the same way as a weak acid: to burn things. It does not say they can spit acid.

I also doubt the plasma would be hot enough to significantly effect an axe so that it magically does no damage, nor would it allow the plasma Rahkshi to melt holes in or tunnel through the floor of the self-repairing gym, which I've seen you do several times now.

I didn't mean no damage. I though that it would dull it enough to take less damage. Teclax first said that.

IC Mar'jik:

The chakram presumably hit Pyre, though the damage was much lessened as the plasma dulled the blade on contact. Pyre still probably had a bad gash. Mar'jik hit Pyre and immediately jumped off with a grunt of pain. His feet were singed.

So I thought it was possible. I didn't mean no damage at all. Just reduced damage.

Also for the burrowing I saw this on the wiki: "Superheated plasma coating protects body and aids in tunneling." So I assumed it means that the plasma would let him melt into the ground. I may be wrong. Pls don't kill me. I will change it if I am wrong.

@Ultron

I misread the part about dripping acid. I thought it said spitting as I was skimming though it. I will change it.

"Superheated plasma coating protects body and aids in tunneling."

I think this is a problem a few characters have been having. The list on BS01 pertains to the abilities of the Kraata, not the Rahkshi suit, so it's kind of difficult to discern how those abilities would scale up in a full-sized Rahkshi. In this example, I think "protects body" would be more in terms of "stops hungry Rahi or angry Turaga from trying to pick up the Kraata" not "magically stops weapons".

And for the tunneling, the same sort of logic applies. It's one thing for a small, squishy Kraata to melt some gaps in cracked rock so it has more room to squeeze through. It's something else entirely for a fully-suited Rahkshi to melt giant tunnels in a surface that constantly repairs itself the moment it's damaged.

Uh. As I said the attack still hut Pyre a lot. He just took less damage as the blade was dulled a bit by the heat.

The chakram presumably hit Pyre, though the damage was much lessened as the plasma dulled the blade on contact. Pyre still probably had a bad gash. Mar'jik hit Pyre and immediately jumped off with a grunt of pain. His feet were singed.

And:

IC: Pyre got hit by the axe but since his plasma coating was on the axe was dulled and the damage was reduced. He still had a bad cut though where the axe hit. Pyre then channeled his plasma coating onto his scythes leaving him more vulnerable but making his staff/ scythe blazing hot. Since Mar'jik was now in reach he tried to hit his faceplate with his scythe.

This coating thing is my fault. I assumed that the plasma would melt some of the edge off a bladed weapon, causing less slicing damage, but the same blunt damage.

The way I see it, at just level two, the plasma wouldn't be able to do much at all to suppress damage being delivered by the weapon. The plasma might stick to the weapon and damage it, but that just means the person would have to fix their blade later on.

And yes, an axe is a blunt force weapon. Even if the blade is being blunted, it doesn't matter. The strength needed to swing an axe around means it'll do plenty of damage regardless of the condition of the blade.

Ok. I see what you mean. However, I did make it so Pyre began to get slowed due to pain of the blow. Also I did mention the cut that he still got from the axe.

In other news, I'm considering writing some of my characters in the first person rather than third in order to get inside their heads a little more, but I wanted some player input first. Do you guys think I should change my characters to first person?

And if so, which one/s?

Maybe Illusive, since he seems really cool, but often unnoticed. Also Era.

Okay, I'll keep that all in mind.

Now, speaking of Illusive, I'm sure he was interacting with someone, and I can't remember who it was. I've been waiting ages for a post. Silencer had to go poison and rob the villagers all by himself. Does anyone remember who Illusive was talking to?

Is this it?

"IC: Silencer

Leaving Illusive to talk to with Vector, Silencer went on ahead back to their dorms. He'd made a rough start on their schematics, but that part of the plan was secondary to the main objective: win back the Matoran. He dug under his bed, pulling out a box filled with some of the more intact naming day decorations, among them the giant star that had been torn off the temple roof. He'd kept them as souvenirs, but now they might make a decent peace offering. "

Right, so that's two votes each for Era and Exxan, and one vote each for Illusive and Xara.

Ah, so he was interacting with Vector... that's one of Teclax's characters, if I recall correctly, the one who knew sign language.

Exxan's pretty much made his thoughts clear anyways, so first-person there wouldn't be worth too much. But Silencer and Illusive are quiet and mysterious, and thus it would be cool to get inside either of their heads.

Good point

Sorry all my recent posts have been so long. :D I guess death is just a really good opportunity for development. Fang is finally learning to understand Exxan (somehow) and becoming somewhat more peaceful (but still don't mess with him or fight in his presence, he might chop the next one in half), and Hoto is questioning if she's really on the right side.

Also, I've been reading the Giver Quartet lately (which is fantastic, by the way), and it's given me a lot of ideas for how to develop Hoto. There's a lot of strong, disabled characters there who are really well fleshed out.

If you want a Xara post, Hoto's always open. She's currently touching Omega's body, which would probably look odd to... well, anyone who isn't blind. :D

Yeah, the Giver books are good. Still haven't read the fourth one, yet.

And first person is a good idea, Roman.

It's been several days IRL, and at least a few hours IC, since Exxan killed Omega. Surely Suvak and Tridax are aware of the situation by now? I think it's about time the repercussions of Exxan's actions presented themselves, because the only punishment he's been getting so far is his own inner turmoil, and the weird insults and inexplicable death threats he's been recieving from people like Vaalku and Sidonas.

I'm actually starting to run out of adjectives to describe his depressed state of mind. :P
