"Careful, don't bend too far or it might break!" I joked, actually happy the illness made me give up that habit. "Let's go, I owe SOMEONE a beating. Say, do you have anything but the bow?" I asked, pulling out my tool and looking at the blade underslung below the crossbow. It was a last resort weapon at best, but it'd have to do.

IC:"Optimism is a deceptive state of mind. It is the belief that things will work out for the best. I prefer realism." The Onu-Matoran replied, slipping the badge back into a pocket on his belt. "And my personal outlook has no bearing on how well I perform my duty."

IC(Ryiu-Polzin Residence)

Okay, maybe a "meeting with destiny" was overselling it. I wasn't too huge a fan of destiny, aka the third wheel virtue. To put it simply, when Destiny came knocking, I told her to go away. I didn't want any stupid girlscout cookies. Maybe this was the way I showed my independence from prophecy. Maybe I wanted to choose my own fate. It was during this thought process that I realized I had entered Ga-Koro airspace. I checked my watch again, and smiled- I wasn't altogether horribly late. My bird swooped down, letting me view the entire landscape of the Koro of water. It was pretty gorgeous, but I already knew that, seeing as it was where I grew up and currently had to live. It didn't have Le-Koro's fortitude, but it certainly had its charm. For an amphibian, it was sort of the dream. Sort of. It definitely had a lot of women.
I saw that I was approaching the Polzin house, and so I landed. Let me stress to you: the bird did not land. I slipped off and barely landed on my feet. Even though falling from a moving bird must've looked pretty cool, it was a mistake, and one that wouldn't have ended nearly as well if I hadn't been flying very low. I watched the bird fly away into the trees near the house, ready to be called upon when needed. I had business to attend to. Straightening my suit, I began the walk to the house- mansion, if I'm to be honest. Home sweet home? That was putting it one way. It didn't feel sweet. Not when I knew who was behind those doors. I've told you about my sister before, have I not? She's an interesting character. I attempt to love her to pieces. She stays intact and unloved. I reached to open the door, but before I could, Vera's aide opened it from the inside. Darling little soul- wouldn't hurt a fly if you made her. Unfortunately, she was also quite skittish. Sometimes I swear she jumped at her own shadow. You can imagine her reaction to seeing me behind the door.
"Kiara! Nice to see you. It's been awhile!" I offered, trying to defuse the bomb as it was being set off.
"H-hello mister R-Ryiu! H-have you gotten t-taller?" stuttered the Le-Koroan girl.
"Not a bit."
She forced a smile at my deadpan, obviously still a bit frightened. Maybe it was the teeth? We still hadn't gotten used to each other, anyhow.
"So, w-what are you h-hear for?"
"I could tell you..." I shrugged, "...but then I'd have to kill you." I winced as I realized my attempt to lighten the mood probably frightened her further. I half expected her to scream or run away, but no. She simply turned around and walked as fast as she could away from the house. Stifling a chuckle, I did the opposite.
Breathing in the air of the house was an experience. You had the stench of logic, the aroma of ethics, and the olfactory phenomenon of empathy. It was an architectural masterpiece, from the first step in the living room to the depths of the basement. My immediate thought was that someone needed to light the fireplace. I pictured the three of us- me and my siblings -playing around the living room. Well, I was usually reading or studying, but y'know, same difference. As I spotted my sister- in the office, as she generally was -I bit my tongue to hold back a snide comment about who she used to be. She didn't really deserve that, and I knew it. I hung up my jacket and moved into the office under the stairs, nodding to my sister as soon as she looked up.
"Hey there," I said, leaning against the wall, smiling a toothed smile she would instantly recognize as overflowing with "polite" but lacking a touch in "warm." She knew why I was here. There were some shenanigans going on. That much was obvious. But specifically, I wanted something. Something big. Specifically, I wanted to build a hotel. Like, an enormous one. A enormous, nice one. I took a look at her desk and saw the letter she had received- probably from Kiara.
"The Cultured Gentry, Vera? Is that really what we want? Induction?"

As Liara realized she'd been unmoving for the past few minutes, she felt the wind pick up...along with a presence. As she turned there before for was a Toa, clad in slate grey and dark green armor, his mask shaped like a Kakama in appearance. Attached to his belt were an assortment of daggers, long with twin crossbows, sleek and made of protosteel. Strapped upon his back was a quiver of arrows, tightly secured. The Toa had the hint of a smile, yet it was more of an expression of amusement, nostalgia even.

"It's amazing how things change...and yet stay the same....is it not?" A voice said through the wind.. His voice immediately brought recognition, and yet she couldn't quite place it, not just yet. The Toa's glaze had drifted away from Liara and was now focused toward the group by the remains of Casa Juturna. He seemed to focus on certain individuals in particular, but it was difficult to tell who from that distance.

IC:"That is often true."The Le-Toa had been aware of the new arrival the instant she resumed her focus on the world around her. She hadn't noticed him approach, too absorbed in her thoughts to pay attention to her environment. Shameful for someone with her skills to be approached so easily. In a movement disguised as the return of her belt to her waist, she shifted so that the newest arrival was in view.

Armed to the teeth. Familiar, but at the same time, not. Her hand came to rest near the concealed sheath at her waist, ready to draw her dagger if need be. After all, in her experience, the return of those once familiar was rarely an event to be trusted.

"The cycle repeats itself, or so they say..." He chuckled to himself quietly, his eyes casually darting toward Liara. "There isn't any need for that, if you're doing what I think you're doing. Given your previous track record it's hardly a surprise. People like us are always very...cautious. It isn't something you can really break the habit of, no matter how hard one tries." The Toa recognized Liara's seemingly innocent move for her belt, it was the same sort of tactic he'd used more often than not.

The Toa turned his head to look at Liara, his expression more thoughtful than anything. "You know, come to think of it, we really never got to really know each other...not well at any rate. Circumstances sorta prevented that. But I want to change that, we're not so different after all." A smirk grin on his face, then he turned back to look at the group again.

"Figured it out yet? I've practically given the answer away..."

IC:"I'm afraid that I'm not really sure what you mean, sir." Liara replied, her calm, slightly confused, tone disguising the suspicions running through her head. "I'm a doctor, and frankly, I don't think I've ever seen you in my life. Unless, of course, you've visited my clinic. Too many people pass through for me to really remember faces and names."

The Toa chuckled. "I guess I have to give you a couple more hints eh?" He crossed his arms together across his chest, leaving himself quite open really, apparently he wasn't concerned.

"Let's see...what do we have in common?" He mused thoughtfully. "We're both Le-Toa, there's one...we both seem to have changed our appearances! There's two!" He seemed quite enthusiastic, which most likely left a bit of unease for Liara.

"Three...we've both been...either previously or currently....mercenaries." A smile grew as he seemingly thought of one more. "And of course, we've both had...a bit of a falling out with Skyra Daring!" He clasped his hands together.

He looked back at Liara for the third time. "Please tell me I don't have to spell it out for you, that would just be embarrassing!"

IC:"I swear, it's as if everyone can see straight through the change in appearance." Liara muttered to herself, the more innocent tone and expression of a kindly village doctor disappearing, replaced by a a cool annoyance. In a single fluid motion, she drew herself to her feet, dusting off the front of her coat. "I am quite aware of who you are, it's a matter of whether or not I care."

"Because as I recall, the last time I encountered you I nearly had to intervene in a little sibling dispute. Something I have no desire to do again. I might stain my coat."

"Oh, your disguise is actually quite perfect. It's just when you look for someone long and hard enough, especially someone like me, we do eventually find who we are looking for."

He pointed toward Skyra. "Plus, when someone like Skyra practically shouts your name on the beach, well..." He shrugged.

"As for my little...dispute with my...well...I suppose sister is the correct term now? Heard you had something to do with that. Anyway! Believe me when I say I'm quite done and past the whole 'killing my brother out of revenge thing'." He used air quotations. "It's quite embarrassing to think I was so petty really..."

"Well, believe it or not I've had a pretty good reason for doing so. I haven't been looking for you because I wanted too. It was simply necessary..." He glanced back at Skyra and the others and scoffed. "They would all be too eager to pick a fight with me, but you, you're a bit more rational." He paused. "The 'peace' we've been having since Makuta's defeat. You know as well as I it's not gonna last."

He glanced to Liara. "There have been rumors, whispers in the shadows, something is going to happen. Where? I don't know, could happen anywhere, or more like everywhere. Who? It's all speculation. But mark my words that it will happen..."

IC:"And when it does, the island will be plunged into war, the clouds will rain acid, the fish will all die, the volcano will erupt, et cetera, et cetera." Liara replied, sounding almost bored. "I live in Ga-Koro, where I listen to every drunk fisherman or woman prattle on and on about how war will bring about the end of times.""I'm not concerned. If war comes, I'll be the one patching people back together. Not the one dealing with the combat."

IC: Cedoka - Underneath Ga-Koro Waters

I leaned back into my chair and sighed. We had left the Matoran pretty much unharmed, although she had been more than a little frightened. As long as she didn't reveal anything to anyone else, then everything would be alright. Leaving her dead would've caused too much of a mess anyway, and I wasn't too big on killing innocents.

I looked over at Kurkai. He was sitting in his seat, taking a look at the map.

"Any idea of where we should look first?" I asked him.

"Maybe you won't...but they will." He gestured over to the group. "Now don't be thinking I really care what happens you, Skyra, or any of the others. I still loathe Skyra entirely, I just gave up on revenge."

He looked toward the ground. "What I'm about to say is to pay a debt, I don't like owning people, especially Skyra...."

"You probably already know that the 'doctor' largely responsible for Skyra's current form escaped months back, by largely unknown means. Well...just don't be surprised if him or others like him cross paths with your happy-go-lucky group here..."

Ic: kurkaiI paused for a moment to answer cedoka's question. "Well, it appears that the tunnels are start at this passage here," I said, pointing to the map. "We have 19 hours of air. But I believe that he is hiding in an air pocket because no one has seen him since he bought the submarine. If there is an air pocket, it would most likly be down one of the least explored areas. This would also explain why ga-matoran haven't already found him. So lets start at doom viper's nest, and work our way up."

IC: Captain Commander Iraira (with Krios, light bunny approved by Shadowhawk)

Beads shook softly in the breeze from the mobile dangling above Iraira’s wooden desk. A small bell tinkled from another creation across the room, created to represent stars at night. Iraira wished she could be at the small bench back home instead of gleaning information from the vortixx across the desk, at peace slowly gluing together dangling bits of string, feather, bead, and bone. Playing verbal chess always left a sour taste when the game had ended.

“Of course,” Iraira agreed; “It makes sense that there were some secret organizations, or cults, within the territory of the islets. To not have something to believe makes one little worse than rahi. I’ve heard you can see a pinnacle from the southern shores of Le-Wahi. Can you confirm it?”

“Yes,” Krios admitted; “Probably a remaining building. The tallest buildings were either casinos or lighthouses, but they were pretty much interchangeable.”

“Must be a great place to see the stars,” Iraira mused, a hand raised; “But I digress. Head to the cartography department on the main floor before you leave, and to administration down the hall from this office as well; we can get you all squared away for the voyage. Dive training will be the next five days from sunrise to sunset. Arrive at the main entrance on time.” She waved to the door, letting Krios know his time in her presence had expired for the day. With a final smile, the glimmering toa said; “Welcome aboard Private Soirk.”

IC: Captain Commander Iraira (in the prisons)

“Private Matra, stand down.” Iraira’s voice was a growl, a dangerous rolling threat. “We do not brandish weapons at prisoners unless given reason to do so. I would have thought your time amidst the miners would have taught you some weapons etiquette. Apparently not. You’ll have to get along with Techno and Verak here, ‘cause you’re coming along as well.” She finished on a slightly kinder note. Glancing back at the two criminals behind welded bars, Iraira winked at Verak.

“Alright Triscuit, we’ll get you popped ASAP. However, you’re going to have to get used to not wearing a kanohi until I see fit to give yours back. And you, vortixx. Well, you’ll have an escort during training just as physically capable as yourself.” She nodded to finalize the matter, then turned sharply on her heel to leave. As an afterthought, Iraira waved a hand loftily. “Oh, and Verak. You’ll be working for me until the dive.”

OOC: Strakolix and Verak are free under the following conditions: Verak has no kanohi, Strakolix has an NPC escort just as conniving as the vortixx. If both try anything funny, they’re going right back to prison. Oh yeah, both characters feel free to make a post about the stress of dive trianing. :P One or two nice posts, and then we’re out here. ON. A. BOAT. Krios can walk about and fulfill his duties or post about dive training as well.

IC:kurkaiThe tunnels were very small, and with our submarine being on the larger side, more then once I had to rush to the back because of the breech alarm. We explored 3 underwater caves, with no result. I could see that cedoka was getting impatient as we entered the fourth tunnel. About a bio in, I almost triped on something. "Cedoka! You have to see this!" I yelled. I stumbled upon a mask of quick-travel. It was of the finest quality, most likely made in metu-nui. "I knew that he was a thief , but all the people I had talked to said that he stole from science and medical facilities, not from mask making foundries," I said "Ever since he snitched on another skakdi on zakaz, he worked for the hunters. I think he was exiled from there for being 'too rebellious', but I never thought he was a high end thief. I think we either stumbled upon his hideout, or a stash of a completely different type...."

IC: Cedoka - Underwater Cave

We had left the submarine parked at the beginning of the cave, and the mask Kurkai had found was an indicator the Skakdi could be close.

"Leave the mask there for now. I have a feeling our guy is close." I whispered to Kurkai. I drew out my sword, and slowly crept forward so I could peek over one of the rocks in the cave.

IC: Captain Commander Iraira (with Ussalry)

“To be honest Commander Gavarm, I don’t quite understand the last thing you said. It’s a shame I don’t run across men with your accent often enough. Eventually you become the military equivalent of a god, and suddenly you have no time to share a real drink,” Iraira admitted, a sigh escaping her lips. The gear in her elbow purred softly as she raised her own glass, finishing the tart concoction of Epic Tea and lemon. Placing the drink back on the bar, she watched the ring of water if left behind spread slowly from her fingertips. Strange, she thought; how water seeps through glass, like power and responsibility. With a shake of her hand the condensation vanished into pearls in the air. Her thoughts briefly went to crew, materiel, and tomorrow’s heading.

“Please forgive me Commander, but I have some business I need to attend to. You doubtless know all about how busy such a high ranking position is. I’ll set up a tour with one of the ladies here for you... Private Santana, please show these men about our Koro.”

The matoran in question turned her elda towards her superior. Quickly hopping out of a rickety chair, Santana walked towards the doorway with a flamboyant swagger. Iraira winked at Gavarm, an emerald eye twinkling with secretive intention. “She’s smooth, our Santana. Knows all the best dives to eat, and the best views. She’ll give your boys a great tour.”

IC: [ Krios ] - Ga-KoroThe cartographers were pleasant enough, and administration was even somewhat enjoyable, seeing as how it involved money and privileges being bestowed upon him, but the whole contents of the next three hours barely registered in Krios' sleep-deprived mind. That half-hour nap in the village square had been just enough to get him through the interviews; it was all downhill from there. The streets were nearly empty by the time he stumbled out of the Marines HQ into the deepening twilight, his only desire to find a decent inn and and a meal. Starting tomorrow, he'd be up to his neck in diver's training, and he couldn't say he was looking forward to the experience. He was a good swimmer, even on par with some of the Ga-Matoran hereabouts, but had never really cared for the extreme-depth kind, the kind where if you messed up, you died. Too much of a gamble... money was one thing; life, his life, was quite another. And yet here he was, signed up for a deep-sea diving expedition, in the twisted ruins of his sunken homeland. And signed up under the name of 'Private Soirk of the Ga-Koro Marines', no less; his commander, a good-looking military Toa with suspicious motives and a ruthless glint in her eyes.Despite his physical condition, he managed a cracked, ironic smile. He'd always wanted to be involved in the stuff of novels... he only hoped it wasn't one of those depressing tragedies where the climax involved the death and/or downfall of the main protagonist.OOC:I don't have much desire to write out the details of Krios' dive-training experience; whenever the boat's ready to exit port, so's Krios. An open-ended timeskip, if you will. :P

OOC: Okay, I lied. You guys can post getting your weapons of choice, but then, my statement applies.

IC(Daylaria-Merc Meeting)

"Voutok," she said to the soldier, now that they were alone in the office, "ready our best ship," she spoke with the lowest of tones. "If Iraira is already there, find the second best ship. Send all the initiates to the weapons locker and outfit them for combat- I expect a few treasure hunters to meet us in Kumu, and that will naturally mean some resistance." Her face had gone dark, dead serious for a moment. "I cannot guarantee your safety, or the safety of anyone else on this mission. You know that. So make sure they choose well."

The Matoran of sound nodded and headed out to speak to all the interviewees. "Come with me," he said, adjusting his sound compressors to speaking volume. "Alright, everyone follow me. We're going to need equipment for defense. No worries, though, we won't force anything on you that you can't use or might harm yourself with." He led the group into the armory, a vast and beautiful room full of weapons and tools for a million purposes. Bows, crossbows, swords, hooks, knives- you name it. There was a chalkboard in the center, with various combat strategies and such- plus "DAY + IRA WERE HERE" in large letters.

"Choose wisely and suit to your specialties."

------

If there were six people Daylaria wanted to see most at that moment, it was easily Echo and co.

She had met them when tracking down a criminal in her early days. Mercenaries, all of them. They were her competition for most of the mission, but they ended up working together. None of them were inherently criminal- hence she had thought about hiring them for missions for years. However, until now, there really wasn't a purpose to, what with Marines being active and ready for combat at all times. In this mission, however, she needed non-Marines. Anyways, she was incredibly surprised to see them popping up in her home turf.

"Well well well," she said, appearing before the six with hands on her hips, "what brings you all here?"

IC- Verak
You know that feeling where you are so close to escape, but have to almost physically restrain yourself from running away?
No?
Well, you’ve obviously never gone deep sea dive training in Ga-Koro while you are a prisoner.
I, mean, we spent the whole time floating around in the bay. I’m literally one solid punch and a short swim from freedom. And I am so torn. I mean, my body wants to swim away from the smell of salt and fish and all this Ga-Toa who is not as pretty as she should be, but another half of myself knows that I’d have no fun doing that. Here’s why:
A) I’d have to leave my Calix behind. I’ll never abandon you, buddy. <3
B) They’d prolly catch me and throw be back in jail since I’m maskless and weak. Not only would I have to endure jail again, but I’d miss out on this remarkably shady and intriguing adventure. Which brings me to
3) I really want to find out what Ms. Pretty-captain-boss-marine wants from Xa-Koro's ruins.
Oh,wait, did I switch my method of listing halfway through? Guess what? I don’t bloody care, brother. C and three pretty much rhyme anyway, so if you were drunk they’d sound the same to you. Are you drunk? Because if so, you must be pretty depressed. I mean, if you’re drunk, the whole world is open to you! You have no sense of reason! Ride a Kikanalo into your neighbors pool! Go bungee jumping off your roof! Don’t sit around reading this. It's a waste, honestly.
Anyway.
I was currently chilling in the kind-of-chilly waters of Naho bay. My dive instructor, an incredibly ugly muscular chick with so little sense of humor that it was making me lose my sense of humor, was floating in the water a bio or so from me, glaring at my mask.
“Verak, if you act like this during the dive, all that’s breaking the surface of the water is a corpse.”
“Hey now, that was almost a joke! Yer improvin’!”
“Put on the weight belt, Verak.”
I frowned at the girl's Mask of Flight that was bobbing just above the surging surface of the ocean. And when I say mask of flight, don’t think sleek feminine version designed for girls. Oh no, this one was masculine, with larger than average spikes and a slightly crooked look. Like I said. Ugly.
“I can hold the belt just fine in my hand, sister. Don’t worry, I’ve got a tight grip.”
“And what happens when it gets snagged on a piece of coral, you let go, and you shoot to the surface, the change in pressure killing you? Put. It. On.”
Oh, god. Not this lie again.
“Look, ma’am,” I said, using the honorific slightly mockingly (You know, am I even sure she’s a ma’am?) “You can cut it with the ‘rising to the surface too fast will kill you’ garbage. Sure it’s uncomfortable, but I think it’s fairly obvious that it’s a transparent lie to stop me from swimming away from y’all when we’re deep underwater.”
“I’m telling the truth.”
“Yer a terrible liar, honey.”
“Don’t call me honey.”
“As ye, wish, m’lady.”
“Ma’am was fine.”
“Then I will refrain from usin’ it, wench.”
“Say wench again and you will experience my ‘lie’ about rising to the surface first hand.”
“Yer a very bad liar, wench.”
Her ugly square eyes narrowed, and before I could even close my mouth I was being sucked down through the water. Bubbles rose around me in sheets, and the water rushed upwards loudly. I was moving fast, very very fast. My ears popped painfully, especially agonizing after that stupid sonics Toa had blasted them. The pressure on all sides increased. My ears popped again, excruciatingly. My lungs burned already, since they were empty when I went down.
I could go on for a long time about how painful the pressure on my ears was, but it’d bore you, and I don’t want to dwell on it. Lets just say I literally could not form a coherent though by the time I smacked into the muddy bottom of Naho bay.
Then I was flying upwards, feeling all new kinds of pain in my audio receptors. This might even have been worse than Sonic-Toa’s blasts.
I would have come up screaming, but there was no air left in my lungs by the time I finally returned to the surface. I splashed and floundered wildly, trading between greedy gulps of air and screams of agony.
It took a while before I relaxed and finally met the wench’s eyes again.
“Now.” The glint in her eyes was deadly. “Put on the roking weight belt.”
I put it on.

Leah rolled her shoulders back and forth, stretching her upper back and making the sunlight glint off of her shifting body. She turned and looked at Reordin.

"Well, I was thinking about a quick swim from here to the Akiri's hut, to talk to Hahli and see what's up-new. I didn't like the vibe that Vortixx was giving off...I want to make sure that encounter doesn't come back to bite us in the rear. Better safe than sorry."

There was a graveness to those last words that didn't sound at all like the chipper Leah Reordin knew. This was Leah, protector of the village, speaking. But the serious moment passed as quickly as it had come up.

"After that, I don't know. Go around the village, talk to people, see who needs help and then help them."

She shrugged and then winked at the Toa of ice playfully.

"Who knows, depending on the amount and type of work there might be a chance for my favourite Lieutenant to show off what he can do."

She took a half step back, turning so that her back was facing the clear-blue pool of water. "See you at the Akiri's hut!"

And with that, she smoothly bent her knees, leapt up and dove backwards into the pool without a singly drop splashing outside of it.

The archaeologist selected three diving knives and a shoulder belt to hold them. They were more for practicality than for fighting with, though. He could hold his own against an untrained opponent, true enough, but he was no fighter. Hesitating for a moment, he picked up a spear. He wasn't sure if it would actually do him any good underwater, but there was no harm in trying.

If there were six people Daylaria wanted to see most at that moment, it was easily Echo and co Vilor and the Black Inferno.

OOC:Due to a slight mistake on Shushei Hisagi's part, Vilor was accidentally called the name of a gukko bird that I also happen to own. The point of this interaction was to recruit me for the dive, Kughii (You have Daylaria, right?), in case you were wondering.

IC:"Toa hunting, that's what." Vilor growled. Anyone who had spent much more than ten minutes with Vilor knew that the particular tone he was using made it advisable to back away slowly.

The more sensible, sociable Ziraul stepped in. "I think I ought to ask: Have you seen a Toa of Air, wears a Kadin, flies like crazy? Tough looking Toa of Gravity, double Akaku scopes on the mask? Toa of Sonics, rides a Gukko? Those three are who we're looking for."

IC: Daylaria (with KNI's Permission)

Daylaria's cloak shimmered softly, the white feathers of her wings shuffling into a more comfortable position. Her hands remained on her hips as Vilor verbally accosted her. She waited a moment before responding, knowing sooner or later some one with a softer tongue would try to cover the error.

"No I can't say I personally have," Daylaria responded; "the only Kadin user I've seen in the last week is a buff woman drowning a would-be sailor for not following instructions. Why do you hunt these three with such passion? Come take a little side-trip, a break. Trust me, I have a much better offer for you all. Besides, you may just find what you're looking for in the end." Her smile spread deviously across the length of her kanohi as she finished. "Will you come with me for a little talk? Standing in the open isn't befitting my current military position."

IC: "One's a traitor. The other two helped the traitor. That's why we're after them all the time. Vilor, we have a job offer." Ziraul answered.

Vilor gave a growling nod, indicating for Ziraul to negotiate. He stepped to follow Daylaria's lead to wherever she wished to speak.

As he walked, he created a voice in Daylaria's ears, a creepy, eerie one that could have made Makuta servants shudder. "The first question for the Black Inferno is how much it pays. As always. The second question is what type of work you want, and how many employees you require."

IC: (Mons Shajs/Marine HQ/Ga-Koro)

Being a Skakdi in the Marines was strange enough. Being formerly a nortorious pirate and a Marine was even stranger. But Corporal Mons Shajs was not a particularly strange person. He was a loyal, albeit lenient Marine who had served bravely with Ga-Koro from the Great War on. Even then, he wasn't the most trusted soldier, by his superiors, mostly. At this very moment, chatting with the receptionist in Marine HQ, he was having some doubts on whether he'd go on this Xa-Koro mission or not.

"Ma'am, can you please tell me where the Xa-Koro team is?"

I occasionally return to BZP for a nostalgic trip back. Hit me up on discord if you need anything.

IC: KaithasI shrugged. "You gotta have hope or you'll drown in despair-"I looked at the sun's position. "Uh, I gotta go. I'll be late for Marine stuff. Duty and all."I barely smiled. "Thanks again."With a poof, I was gone.IC: Erif nodded. "Guard issue dagger, same as yours."IC: Natalia raised and lowered her shoulders, shooting a glare at the Sonics Toa.

"Actually, I don't have it anymore. I tried my best to leave the guard completely, and i relinquished my equipment. But try to say 'no' to Jaller after more years of serving under him that you do not bother to count. I got transfered to reserves with indefinite leave, and I guessed that's the best I could get and rolled with it." I said, turning to face Erif, pointing the crossbow to the sky, "But I got this baby instead!" I boasted, lowering the weapon to examine it. I didn't give it much thought up until now, save for that test fire in Le-Koro. I was wondering how it would perform, but I guessed next hours would tell.

The whistling words were expected, and the valkyr didn't flinch as Ziraul spoke from hiding. Her eyes flickered towards the sound, barely making out the shadowy wisp of a hood before even that too had vanished. She waved a hand to say 'not here,' then continued her walk to the Marine Headquarters.

The office she lorded over barely held the contained mass of the Black Inferno. "I'd offer you a place to sit," She mentioned; "but obviously there's only standing room here. I need some guards for an exploratory expedition to the Kumu Islets," the commander stated flatly. She quickly glanced across the weapons bristling from each being's body. "I've always known you to do good, efficient work. I expect a few, erm, slips from members of the crew. I want you there in case of something shady. Being a Commander I can dip rather heavily into the treasury for your pay."

"Please show your identification badge," she snapped for the third time. "You can keep talking about things, but nothing happens unless I see your proof of rank, Corporal."

OOC: Please send me the profile for your Marine. I did not remember seeing him in the first batch, so I'd love to catch him this time around. :) Thanks House.
