IC: Mirra and Wisp.

"Not throwing any of us in jail would be nice." Wisp added.

"Please?" Mirra asked sweetly.

IC: Vesun

"Yes, we're going to meet them. From the gathering, I'd say these are unusual if not completely new visitors to the island. I'd like to take a look at their ship - their technology seems impressive. And if nothing else, we should see if they pose a threat."He gestured for them to get in the boat, and he began to row out to the submersible.

"I can already hear them talking," Juho noted.

"Yes, it would seem they speak our language," Vesun replied. He pulled the boat alongside the sub and caught the attention of one of its crew. "Hello. May we come aboard?"

IC: Eleen (Ga-koro)

Eleen expressed disgust, surprise, shock and anger for two seconds when she saw the dead Marine, before her face turned stern again. Thankfully, the dead Matoran was not from her squad, but he was a Marine either way. "Put him down, I'll take care of him." She had no reason to think that Kalyss herself was behind the murder, for her expressions had no signs of lying, and seemed genuine. But Eleen did not trust strangers. "Alright everyone, you will all follow us back to the Marine headquarters. You will not be imprisoned or anything, just questioned, nothing to worry about. You can rest later." Two of the marines she had sent returned without Skorm, sadly. Eleen talked with them for a moment, and seemed to be frustrated.

She then turned around, and ordered everyone who she had seen at the crime scene to follow her. That included Kalyss, Casanuva, Vakua, Mirra, Wisp, Mura, Tuli and Khervos. She hadn't noticed the last two until Tuli threw a disk at Skorm, and walked to Khervos soon after. She ordered her two marines to close off the platform, and collect evidence. Tomorrow, she must report to Captain Kotu and make sure that the area will be cleaned up and repaired. A lot of work was ahead of her, but she knew that it was part of her Duty, so she wouldn't complain. Eleen picked up the dead Marine, and headed for the HQ, making sure that everyone followed her. Her wounds needed treatment as well, but that was secondary.

IC: Vesun

Vesun frowned. "No?" He shrugged. "So be it." He turned to Kirgan. "If they're going to be so closed-handed, I wonder why they came at all." He sighed, pushing the boat away from the sub. "So, what now? Back to the search for a telepath?"

IC: "You'd think they'd have the marines rolling in pretty soon here to clean things up." Sudo noted, using his Kakama to zoom up the gangplank of--

Oh hey, we found the Charm. Nice job, team! Man, that Toa of Plasma guy really was on the right track after all. I just hadn't realized there would be so many people in the way, perhaps THAT's why he didn't seem too confident in it. After all, it was a deceptively long and arduous road, so I suppose I can't fault him for being a little cautious with me.

However.

He frowned, even as he sped up to the crow's nest for tactical, topographical reasons, so it didn't violate his agreement with Angler shut up. From here, he could get a much clearer view of the scene as a whole, rather than try to pierce through the clamor of people wanting to become famous for having made first contact.

See? Tactical. Like a Panda, or something.

I -am- still mildly offended that he figured I couldn't handle this. What sort of wimp does a guy like that take me for, anyway?

IC: (Hanako Herupa)

I had no idea that some of the island's inhabitants would be so hyperactive, especially the one matoran who had came aboard. Or the one that was trying to be a show off with his control over metal. It was exciting and interesting, a Toa like that could throw our entire economy out of control. That and some were said to control other elements as well, to create metal out of thin air it was almost magical, but I couldn't be dazed by such displays, not at the moment at least. I need to speak with the leader of the village, or the next best person to speak to. I spoke to those crowding around the submarine. "I apologize to those of you who have many questions for us. Trust me, we have many questions for you, we are as excited as you are. That said we have duties and honors. We must speak to your leader, if they are available. We wish to give our respects and speak with them," To be honest with a situation like this I could have spent all the time here speaking with every individual. Getting to know them, how they were governed, how their economy worked, what technologies they had created. This was a mission of peace, of exploration. I bet things would be exciting for us on Kentoku, granted most Dasaka respected authority enough, unfortunately because they usually met with some punishment if they did not. That was one thing I was glad to see, that they were not so zealous as to punish them. Dakte's methods they were for protecting the sub and those aboard it, they were extreme measures. I thought on those with us, Soraya being one of them, and realizing I still needed to speak with her.

Well, I'd have to wait for that till later, right now I had responsibilities to handle before I handled personal issues like that.

The crow's nest was thankfully a sturdy enough construction, at least I didn't have any problems climbing up and sitting down near Sudo.

The view was nice, no better spot around to get some quick sketches of the strange newcomers.

This is probably a good time to mention that I was only six inches tall now.

IC: (Mons Shajs)

In minutes, more Marines seemed to converge on the area in increasing rapidity. They began to break up the crowd, quietly shifting them to the sidelines, away from the main pathways. Shajs was quite thankful for it, as the last thing they needed was to have a lunatic attack the envoys and begin a war on accident. He himself turned to salute Hanako, and the other officials (He assumed they were). He was near to the ramp, and within speaking distance to the Dasaka.

"Me comrade o'er there isa Cap'n Trieze," he said to them. "Im'a Corporal Mons Shajs, ma'am. I a'na me fella Marines will escort ya inta tha city, befitten' officials of yer status."

IC Kirgan

(Ga-Koro):

"What about the guy we were looking for before Skorm attacked?" Kirgan noted. "He must have been one of those in the battle. Perhaps we should go and see if they're at the Marine headquarters?"

IC Tuli & Khervos

(Ga-Koro, Marine HQ):

Tuli and Khervos followed the Marines' lead to their headquarters.

"I wonder if Kirgan and Vesun are still in that hut", Khervos thought aloud. Tuli mumbled something in response, but she was actually thinking about the escaped Skorm.

IC - Tarkah [Marine Headquarters]:

The Toa looked up from the seat as the sounds of footsteps drew closer. His attention was drawn first to the white and blue Toa carrying a Ga-Matoran's corpse. Tarkah lowered his gaze at the sight and turned his attention to the group of Toa following behind her. The host hesitated to open his mouth and ask what had happened, given the rather somber atmosphere that came from the other Marines who looked on as well.

IC: Vesun

Vesun nodded. "Worth a try, at least." He brought the boat up next to Juho's hut and left her to tie it down. "Thank you for your help," he said to her, "but I cannot burden you any longer. Goodbye - for now." He got out of the boat and started walking. He pointed towards a large hut with the sign marked MARINE HQ. "I presume that's our destination?" he asked Kirgan.

IC: 88

88 had been too busy marveling at the strange boat to notice what had happened. Some Marines were trying to get him to move back, but he just held out his palm to tell them to wait. He looked straight at the tallest foreigner and asked,

"Pardon me, but I'm afraid I arrived a little late to this meeting. I may look different than many of the others, but I am a Toa like them and just as intrigued. Who are you, where are you from and why are you here? I hope that we have a peaceful relationship."

With that, 88 walked back into the crowd.

IC: Rediet

(Ga-Wahi)

At first there was darkness, but a hiss of metal awoke the Toa of Fire. "What?" he yelled out, not quite sure where he was. Fumbling out of the metal object, he noticed a mask had fallen out of it. He picked it up, and against his better judgement, put it on. A wave of power rushed through him, and with it, memories. He remembered he was here to protect something... Oh yes, the Matoran, he thought, Oh wait, what's a matoran?. Rediet finally stood up and looked around. At first all he saw was some mountains and the beach he was on, but swiveling around, he saw the ocean behind him. Upon further inspection, Rediet noticed a village... floating on the ocean! "I want answers," Rediet demanded to no one in particular, "And I think I can find them there". Rediet slowly started to make his way to the village. When he got close, he saw that there was a particular commotion going on. Snippets of the conversations drifted into Rediet's ears. "It looks like I'am not the only newcomer to this island". It seems like I arrived at the wrong time, he thought, I should probably stay put and see what happens...

IC: Rediet

(Ga-Koro)

Rediet wandered into the crowd and took everything in. Wow, he thought, but sight seeing will not give me answers. He noticed a being of his stature, clad in white and grey, standing in the crowd. "Uhh, what exactly is going on around here?" Rediet said to the being, not particularly caring if he was interrupting what the stranger was doing.

OOC: shot in the dark that you're trying to interact with Kotak?

IC KOTAK: Not even looking at the person asking, Kotak replied shortly, "Mata Nui just got visitors." His Akaku chirped, then buzzed. "Can't identify the species.... Strange...." He thought to himself, as the crystal armored beings spoke with a Skakdi Marine.

OoC: Read his character bio, I feel ashamed for trying.

IC: Rediet: "very helpful," Rediet muttered, suppressing his anger. I don't really want to make enemies after I just got here, so I better cool it, he thought. Rediet decided that waiting for this event to blow over would be the logical course of action. He could find answers then.

Arisaka also noticed how heavily armed the island's populace appeared to be. Weapons of metal at that.

IC: As he entered the bar, no longer in need of instruction and direction, a one-two punch of gut feelings right after eachother stopped him cold in the doorway.

Yo, there are some -powerful- signatures coming from Ta-Wahi, that guy must be lookin for my buddy aga--

The second's impact sunk in fully.

...

"I'm gonna have to have a talk with that guy after all this..." Cipher vowed, squeezing a clenched fist for a moment with conviction.

Starting to cause a scene, he continued through the doors and fully inside the building, pulling up a seat at an empty table and flagging down a waitress.

IC Kirgan, Tuli & Khervos

(Ga-Koro, Marine HQ):

"Yeah, looks like the place", Kirgan agreed. He and Vesun walked inside. After a short search, they came upon a waiting room where they found most of the beings who had been involved in the fight, including Tuli and Khervos.

"Vesun! Kirgan!" Tuli exclaimed. "You're ok!"

IC: Soraya [The Chisai Ryu]

:Holy frick Soraya this guy is hyperactive. You invited him aboard, you talk to him.:

One of her hands twitched lightly.  Maybe if she was lucky, Mata Nuians wouldn't have ideatalk and she could do without extra voices in her head.

She turned back to Girah and shrugged. "I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here and guess you mean 'Menti' or 'Dasaka' when you say 'Toa'? Tall, a bit glowery? You get used to it.  And sorry, did you just say they're servants here?"

IC: Eleen (Ga-koro Marines HQ)

Eleen stood and looked at the corpse of Gahla, the dead marine, who was lying on a wooden bed, a blanket covering his entire body.

According to the files, he had been a Private for four years. He wasn't promoted because his officer though that "..he lacks motivation and interest to attain a higher rank..". His only remaining family member was his father, a fish cleaner. His mother had disappeared eight years ago, presumed dead. The mother had been working as a secretary, presumably getting paid well. After her disappearance, the father could no longer sustain his son, which is why Gahla had to join the Marines. According to his officer, he had been patrolling the village when he was killed. Skorm and Kalyss are the main suspects, and Eleen wanted to question the latter very thorougly. She had found Gahla's corpse, and Eleen had no reason to fully trust her. Skorm was still the main suspect. In the name of the Great Spirit, I will execute justice on the killer. Murder is the worst crime imaginable, she thought.

Eleen took a deep breath and left the body to be taken care of. She walked to the meeting room, where all of the people who had been at the crime scene were now, waiting to be questioned. She planned to question them one by one, and find out what exactly had happened. It was late at night, so she was tired, but she wanted to get this job done as soon as possible. She opened the door of a small interrogation room, which contained a table and two chairs. A lightstone was illuminating the room. She then turned and said: "Casanuva, you are first. Come inside. This will take about 3-10 minutes." She glanced at the others. "Your turns will come later. I ask you not to leave until I have questioned you." Eleen walked inside, and sat down, waiting for the blue Toa to do the same.

IC: "I'll leave that to Kalyss." Casanuva gestured to his sister before getting up and walking into the office. He pulled up the chair and sat down, leaning back it in.

"So, go ahead. Shoot."

Kalyss, meanwhile, answered Wisp. She continued looking at the ground while she spoke. "It's like I said. Skorm trained with us, he was our brother. The best of us, in fact. We all kinda knew he saw being on the team differently, but we never knew he was so... unstable."

Vakua chimed in. If anything, he was the most stable. He didn't feel driven to succeed, he just did what he thought was best. Very driven.

(Ga-Koro, Marine HQ, waiting room):

Tuli and Khervos made the same observation as Wisp - the Toa of Sonics was using mind powers!

A telepath!

"This guy is wearing a Suletu", Khervos said in realization. "It's the mask of telepathy...

Kirgan smiled and said to Vesun, "I think you found yourself a telepath."

IC: Eleen (Ga-koro Marines HQ)

As Casanuva sat down, Eleen put down a piece of papyrus paper she had carried in her hand on the table, and prepared her Onu-koroan ink pen. "So, you are part of this 'Toa Kalta' group, along with Skorm. Tell me in detail what happened at the crime scene, and who did what. I would especially like to know what made Skorm cause such substantial damage to his surroundings." She raised her gaze from the paper before her, and looked at Casanuva. "I will also ask you to describe the personalities of Skorm and Kalyss, and if they have mental issues or past criminal activity."

Vesun stood and walked over next to the Toa of Sonics. "You must be Vakua," he said. "We've heard about your performances. We've been looking for you." He sat down next to Vakua. "Because I need your help. Allow me to explain."

"I was sent here - I arrived yesterday - on an important mission. I'm not sure where from. That knowledge was erased from my memory to protect my homeland. Unfortunately, the amnesia is spreading. I can hardly remember anything apart from yesterday. I've talked with a mental specialist in the Onu-Koro hospital, and he believes that telepathic treatment is my best hope. So I must ask: will you come with me to Onu-Koro? With your powers and the knowledge of the doctor, perhaps I can remember my mission."

IC Girah:

"I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here and guess you mean 'Menti' or 'Dasaka' when you say 'Toa'? Tall, a bit glowery?"

Girah let out a small nod and a "Mmhm" of conformation, turning back to Soraya.

"You get used to it. And sorry, did you just say they're servants here?"

Girah inhaled sharply, and gritted his teeth. Looking up at his forehead and bobbing his head, he mulled over how best to explain the role of Toa. It was so integral to society it was hard to pick apart verbally, and really analyze in an explainable way. "They serve... But they aren't servants, so to speak. They are more like...hm..." His hand went to the chin of his otherworldly mask, and he tapped his toe, thinking. He sighed, deciding on an explanation that was rough, and perhaps inadequate, but still gave the gist of the role Toa played. He could clarify later.

"I would explain Toa as heroes, officers of good across the island. They do not rule over the island, and they service the common good, but it is not as if they are obedient to us Matoran or any other force on the island. And it is not as if they have ranks or some sort of council or clan or tribe that separates them from us. But Toa are supposed to be examples for Matoran to follow, and are above them is some way, but not really, even though we have distinct roles..."

Girah looked apologetic and at a loss. "This is difficult to explain. It has been part of our little corner of the universe since farther than I can remember. It's something one..." He visibly kneads the idea with his hands, trying to pull a word from the depths. "...Feel-knows, to borrow a tree-speak word, rather than codifies. I suppose Toa are the stewards and guardians of Mata Nui, both the island and the spirit. Paragons of the virtues of Unity, Duty, and Destiny."

IC: Casanuva somehow leaned back in even further. "Well, Skorm... I don't know. The Toa Kalta all trained together. Skorm was the best. Physically the strongest, not counting the mask of yours truly, and the best in one on one combat. Good at, well, everything. When he sets his mind on something, he pursues that goal to the exclusion of all else." Casanuva put his hands to the side of his eyes. "You know, tunnel vision. While he was always distant, cold, you know how things are. He was the loner of the team. He put up with us, though. Don't know what turned him into... what you saw today. He was leaking stuff from his mask the whole time; maybe he got sick and went insane, or something."

The blue Fa-Toa leaned back in. "As for Kalyss, she's alright. Real pillar of the community material, at least mostly. She tried to take Skorm out into the bay to avoid collateral damage when he attacked, but he ended up reversing gravity and sending both of them flying. She used to be a professional athlete. Really uptight. She's the closest we have to a leader, with our actual leader MIA."

Outside, Vakua nodded. I might be able to help. We were planning on going to Ko-Koro, and I understand that Onu-Koro is somewhat on the way. Might need to make a stop at Ta-Koro, though.

Kalyss nodded. "I guess that would please our diva in there. I don't think we're going to have any trouble sticking together after this."
