However, the Matoran in the nearest village pretty much shoot Rahkshi on sight, and the forest is currently crawling with a colony of Dagger Spiders. A poacher also put a whole lot of snares along the beach, and since he died before he could collect them, there's a high likelihood that characters could still get caught in them. Also, a while back some idiot tried starting a forest fire and the island's law enforcement are trying to find him. They might not take too kindly to seeing another Rahkshi in the forest again so soon. Sidonas claims a knowledge in gadgetry (how reasonable that is is open to debate) but if we assume that this is acceptable then it might be possible for him to pick the locks. If he does, though, I expect it would be an effort worth a few minutes of careful finagling for him per door. It's not going to be that easy. Just saying. It doesn't eat keys, does it? It doesn't eat students walking around on it. As I see it, eating stuff would be inefficient compared to simply absorbing the energy it is fed, so it doesn't bother. It occurs to me that if the Makuta wanted to kill us all they wouldn't even have to bother poisoning us. If you try tunneling into the gym floor, it tries to eat you, so it's reasonable to assume that if you stick something that doesn't belong in the lock into the keyhole that the stone would eat it in self-defence.
