It's not much to go by, but I have a feeling that the sequels are going to be what we all expected out of the prequels.

While the "new gold" was introduced in 2006, the color change preceded the end of production on the 2005 sets. While the shells seem to be rarer than the Masks of Shadows, they're not particularly uncommon.

I was going to make a joke about Michael Bay using the second one, but then I got distracted because you used the accent mark in "cliché" and I was so happy I stopped

I had no idea you'd rebooted this—I've had a WIP file on my desktop for just about forever trying to figure a way to effectively reboot the BZP Challenge, and here you are with the second installment.

I can't think of a more suitable ending to a series than Parks. You hit on the fact that different kinds of stories require different endings, but I'd go even further and say that, for some, it's infinitely harder to wrap things up in a nice little package. Parks and Rec had the opportunity and executed it beautifully.
Also, with Community back (albeit online), it brings up an interesting point about series whose suitable finales happened very early in their respective runs. They had a perfectly valid excuse, but when the series finishes, how are they going to top the third season finale? -

The "hideous building" looks like a Gothic building on Geonosis.
Also I will change my name to Pablo in order to make an appearance on this new show.- 6

Really, the floodgates are opening; a couple of shows took the plunge and it's been proliferating ever since. I'm amazed to see it take off in cartoons; I thought that'd be sort of the last bastion. (I don't watch that much TV, but off the top of my head, Modern Family has been inclusive in this regard from its inception and the Parks and Rec finale had a same-sex wedding. Things are really happening.)
Media is a huge barometer of social change. Any media is—the same has been happening in film and in popular music for as long. They're such powerful influences on culture and inclusion and it's abundantly clear how it has quickened inevitable social shifts.
I'm starting to see the same sorts of things happening with the transgender community; there's increased visibility and awareness and that can only lead to more positive things. There's still a long way to go—and room for improvement everywhere—but all in all certainly a positive trend.- 2

Parks and Rec was the only show that actually got better the longer it ran.
I'm going to miss it, but I'd rather see it go now than have it actually jump the shark, which would in many ways be worse. -
Am I the only person in the world who pretty consistently sees most pictures of this thing as bluish-gray and dark gold?

That sounds absolutely nasty. Glad you're okay though.
And hey, look on the bright side—the crazier-looking the scar, the more tall tales you can spin about how you got it.- 3
