Hapori Tohu
The first visual teaser for next year's LEGO Angry Birds theme has been revealed over on Kotaku. In this new poster, the aptly-named character Red (looking perhaps more apprehensive than angry) stands on an endless field of red plates, guarding an egg from an encroaching gang of little green pigs. Needless to say, we still don't know what the playsets themselves will look like, but this at least gives us some idea what to expect from the figures! Voltex
The sets are based upon the Angry Birds movie coming next year, where their designs will undoubtedly match what we see here. I'm hopeful for some creative set designs, but not very hopeful. I also won't buy any, but that's not as related. Quote JOIN AETHERGARDE

Lyichir
I don't understand all the hate for this. Seems like a decent enough fig for what it's trying to represent. But what really will make or break the theme are the sets themselves. I could see the theme being awesome if it can capture some of the physics-based zaniness of the mobile game. But otherwise I doubt I'll have any interest in this theme. Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother

Lyichir
But is that egg going to be a real piece??? I hope so. None of Lego's current solutions for eggs (1x1 tiles, Barraki eyes, etc.) are really ideal. So long as this piece isn't larger than a 1x1 brick, it should be useful in a wide number of applications. Toa Smoke Monster
While I will admit that the image of this particular minifig doesn't excite me too much for this theme, I am still willing to withhold judgement on said theme until I see some whole sets. Who knows? Maybe the Angry Birds sets will have great sets with horrible minifigs? 1 Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Lenny7092
Interesting that Red the red bird and the green Pigs have arms and legs. They remind me of the big Hulk figures or Duplo figures. They seem to be a new kind of minifigures when it comes to cartoonish birds and pigs. Hopefully the Angry Birds sets would have other good stuff like this. Rooster Nui
I can see why people don't like the minifigure, but it is that way because of the movie designs, which I don't like even though they give the characters more personality. I'm not interested in buying any of the sets as I was never interested in Angry Birds to begin with, but I'm sure the overall theme will have a lot to offer for kids. OKAY SO in the Lego Jurassic World video game, they had a few "egg" pieces as props. They were fitted with the standard + connection, kind of like a ball joint, but egg-shaped. Kinda weird for that to be in the game with no actual pieces like that existing, so????? Quote Spoiler Alert
