The second round has ended; people have returned to the Training Sector, Cafeteria, and Hallways.
There are two ongoing Gem Quests run by me, two by Blade, and the Queen's Quest it still going on.

it does work, but it's the mask doing the work, not the voice.

I'm fairly certain that it was specifically stated that Lefia's charisma power works via speech, not via mask.

Changed his armaments

EDIT: changed them again

Name: Hagah

Species: Artakha Bull

Power/Weapon 1 and 2: Lava Sword: a cavalry sword built from the same technology as Norik's Lava Spear. While functioning as a normal sword, it also has the powers of shooting concentrated beams of lava as well as having the ability to superheat anything it strikes on command.

Power/Weapon 3: Hagah's body has been outfitted with high quality armor. Imagine this on his upper body (the helmet having room for his horns, of course); the armor of his lower "horse" body has a breastplate to prevent Hagah from being run through during a charge

Appearance: He's an Artakha Bull. What do you expect? He does have wear a significant amount of silver-colored armor though.

Bio: There was a certain Makuta that didn't particularly trust Toa. As such, when the Toa Hagah were being created and assigned to the various Makuta, this Makuta refused and instead created a guard for himself out of various other species. One of his guardsmen was an Artakha Bull who would later be dubbed Hagah out of his sheer dedication to his Makuta and to the cause. Functioning as a bodyguard in times of piece and as a hussar in times of war, he lived an exciting, but ultimately insignificant life; at the very least, he wasn't the subject of legends or anything like that. Rather, he was but a pawn in the grand scheme of things, to be exploited and forgotten...

Personality/Other: Hagah's defining trait is his loyalty to the Makuta, having served under the Brotherhood for many years. Any Makuta, in his mind, is worth his allegiance, for it was the Makuta who delivered him from life as a simple beast. With his loyalty comes a strong soldierly mentality, his naturally bad temper beaten into submission by millennia of training and service. Though he is a follower by nature, used to taking orders and aubmrring to authority, he does have some experience leading small units of troops; just don't give him an army and expect him to make a miracle.

After a long while, I decided that 6D gear balls don't really work in any way shape or form. So I shall bother the staff with a different profile.

Name : Izarargi

Species : Skakdi

Power/Weapon One : Eternal Arms Mastery. As a knight and warrior of the highest caliber and prestige, the possessor of this ability is able to take hold of any object and strengthen it's qualities as a weapon*. A stone taken in hand and thrown would see it's aerodynamic qualities and mohs rating increase. A rusty iron pipe would become fortified and capable of trading blows with great swords of legend

*This strengthening only lasts as long as she is holding the item and in the case of projectiles, a few seconds after they have been thrown

Power/Weapon Two : Hide of the Nemean Lion. The blessed hide of a ferocious bone white lion, slain in single combat by the demigod Heracles and passed down through Izarargi's sect of warriors. It has been fashioned into a great cloak and hood, the visage of the creature still glaring with the primal fury and hatred it bore in life. Grants the user some protection from magical and elemental attacks that strike the hide*

*Not as strong as Zangah's protection or any energy shield. It's more like a cloak that protects the wearer from extreme temperatures, shocks and shrapnel

Power/Weapon Three : Caledfwlch. Sword gifted to Izarargi by a wise old thaumaturge and blacksmith. It is crafted of the finest protosteel and when drawn will raise all of the user's physical attributes (Strength, Agility, Endurance, Luck) by one point at the cost of sealing their other abilities. In physical terms, Caledfwlch would be likened to a zweihander in the hands of a Toa or Vortixx, in Izarargi's grip it is mere broad sword

Appearance : Standing two hundred eighty seven centimeters tall and weighing in at two hundred forty eight and a quarter kilograms, Izarargi is an especially large individual. Unlike the majority of her species, she does not possess spines, but instead has a thick bristly mane from the trapezoidal muscles down to the erector spinae. Body and mane are a deep crimson. The small superficial pieces of armor are a lighter golden-orange in color. Eyes and heartlight shine with a shade similar to her body

Bio : A lifetime proselyte in the famed sect of Nearlight warrior-monks, Burdina Santua Kateanzaldun. Izarargi is a fervent worshiper of the various celestial deities and a direct pupil of the group's abbot, Enrico Pucci. She has seen little of the outside world and it's differing ways of life

Personality : Laconic and sometimes slow to react and act in social situations. A firm believer that the blade is the highest and most divine form of mercy for many a sinner

That weapon mastery power sounds somewhat like it could take up two or three slots. And what's this? Something Greek in my Bionicle?

(The second and third sentences are mainly joking observations, but I do question how something from a human world ended up in the hands of people from a bio-mechanical world.)

Don't forget the Welsh name.

Of course, it could also just be that for the specific universe that this character is from, various characters and items have names quite similar to our own human myths. Similar to how a lot of Bionicle stuff came from the Maori language and everything.

Nothing much to question there if you just put a little thought into an explanation for it.

Let's put it this way: if I'm going to approve a weapon with a regular Bionicle-style name, I'm probably going to also approve it if it's the same weapon with a human-language name.

Also, if you can name your characters or items after things in the English language, there's not much reason that they shouldn't be allowed to be named after other languages.

Question:

Is THE SUN counted among these celestial deities?

If so, I think this gentleman would get along quite well with Ardian

Reworked the profile a little bit; removed ability to absorb solid constructs, moved mental-shielding into energy absorption and then explicitly defined the physiology bits. Hopefully this is better.

-The Shadowed Sakura Blossom, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Spiritual Psychosis-

Name: Typhoeus Livyatan, Defender of Eris' Honour, Bride-To-Be of Apophis!

Species: Unique

Power 1: Physiology of the Child of Darkness, Slayer of Kings!: Typhoeus is very durable and resilient, due to a combination of intrinsic toughness, heavy armour, and the training undertaken by a Warrior of Chaos. Strength and speed expected for something so incredibly large (nowhere near Kanohi level; just something around 2x strength and 1.5x speed of a Toa-sized being, and, for better or for worse, a much greater momentum when he gets moving), but he also certainly suffers from the natural drawbacks of his size and build; while he can easily overtake fellow combatants in a straightforward sprint, moving through areas full of obstacles and environmental hazards is much, much harder for him, due to size and subsequent lack of agility. Basically; big, strong, tough, and fast (due solely to size), but possessing all the agility of a slab of granite.

Power 2: Kiss of Apophis / Chaos Devour: Due to a dark and horrible ritual involving an industrial-grade eggwhisk and dislocating one's jaw, Typhoeus possesses the ability to consume projections of a power / spoopy-bonkle-energy for the sake of glorifying his master. The target of his consumption must be generated due to the power, technology, Kanohi, etcetera of some being (for example, a Toa of Magnetism's generated magnetic field, a Judgement Cannon's projectile, a Crast's repulsion, or a Laser Vision Rahkshi's lasers), and Typhoeus gains absolutely no power from the consumption, asides from a sense of moral superiority. The “consumption” occurs when powers come in contact with any part of Typhoeus, and is usually accompanied by a cry of “May darkness take you!” or “My nihilism is well-founded”. It is worth noting that he absorbs the attacks of Ce-Toa and other Psionics-using beings just like any other projected energy, resulting in a rudimentary mental shield.

Power 3: Jörmungandr's Writhing, the Throes of Entropy: A fancy and thematically appealing name for Kinetics. Typhoeus can control, create, and absorb kinetic energy just as a Toa would control their element. He specialises in charging an object with kinetic energy to induce explosions, and is very skilled in the others uses of this power (especially absorption; there are few things more enjoyable for Typhoeus than absorbing one explosion to make another). Due to it being his only offensive power, and the reason for decades of training, his talent in the use of the power is great and his actions adroit. Hyperkinetic exertions are usually accompanied by dramatic poses and warcries of “Nine paces, no more!” or “I shall luxate every organ and bone in your body, in the name of the truest beauty!”.

Appearance: Have you ever imagined Predator breeding with a Tyranid Carnifex, the spawn of which mated with Azathoth? Then make it biomechanical. Predator/Tyranid/Azathoth. With the face of Satan and the shoulders of Asmodeus. But robot. We're talking 2.5 bio hunk of inverted-triangle-physique with the aura of Bronson and a body that would make Vitali Klitschko weep. That do anything for you? His mechanical components are the colour of ebony and surround him in a pattern reminiscent of the armour of a Chaos Marine who worships both Khorne and the Dark Lords of GWAR!, and his entire body is covered with subtle serpentine designs and anguine motifs of crimson and charcoal in homage to his master. Strangely enough, he smiles really often, and (assuming you can get over the blood on his skull-spike shoulderpads) is very pleasant to be with.

Bio: Hailing from a world where different species worship different deities and gain their powers from their divine masters, Typhoeus is the result of a manchild who serves his master with the greatest loyalty. Raised and reared in the Temple of Apophis (a God of Chaos remarkably similar to the Egyptian mythological figure), Typhoeus is fanatically (that is, maladjustedly) devoted to the God of Chaos, Darkness, Death, Pain, and That Weird Kitchen Utensil That Keeps The Drawer From Opening. He refuses to accept that there could be anything wrong with believing that a deity devoted to the removal of all order (even down to a molecular level), and views himself as a hero. He has suffered years of dark rituals to grow powerful enough to garner the attention of Apophis, and hopes one day to join him in a holy communion of pain and suffering. Apotheosis to the rank of Dark Bride of the World-Encircler's Assorted-Thoracic-Organ-Throne is his goal, and is unable to even comprehend the possibility that he might not be eligible for the position.

Personality/Other: Typhoeus is beautifully, wonderfully insane. He hopes one day to be the Dark Lady of Chaos and acts only to honour Apophis. Here's a quick little summary; he's the servant of a Dark God of Chaos and Agony who gets very distracted by cute animals and finds it hard to focus in the presence of catchy music. There's little more to be said.

I just like naming stuff after mythological things. Also basque. Looooots of stuff in my profiles, be they names, places or miscellaneous tidbits are in basque because it sounds really neat.

Also I edited the profile to add some clarifications, mainly that she can't pick up a stick and turn it into a lance forever, the strengthening wears off quite fast. And the cloak isn't as powerful as say, Zangah's, protection.

(OOC: Can someone please just tell Skull Carrier what it says in the book? It feels like every time I make an action with my characters people choose to ignore me or outright change the rules around (the tunnel walls vs the floor, for instance))

I thought we'd already addressed that - Voltex made some posts here about how the information Carrier is searching for is generally inaccessible, if I remember correctly. Just to be sure, though, I'll go look for the posts I'm talking about...

And I think people have been reluctant to interact with you because of how your first IC actions were an attempt to destroy a good portion of the public spaces of the facility, without significant provocation.

So...

Remember when I said that I'd be submitting a new character by the name of Revenant, and then included no details about him whatsoever?

Well...

Unfortunately, I felt that his concept was way too awesome for him to officially exist, and have thus decided to cancel his creation.

...

...

...

Just kidding.

Outsiders fans rejoice!

Name: Ravyn, a.k.a. Revenant

Species: Toa

Power/Weapon 1: Kanohi Volitak, The Mask of Stealth - Renders its user mostly transparent and completely silent while active, but does nothing to conceal his shadow.

Power/Weapon 2: Elemental Power of Iron - Standard control over the creation/manipulation of solid metals, though most notably used to redirect his weapons mid-flight.

Power/Weapon 3: Dual-wielded Macheterangs - Two double-edged, machete-like weapons designed to be used in conjunction with each other. Buttons are located on each of their hilts that, when pressed, causes the edges of the blades facing towards him to spring upwards and lock into place, revealing their secondary boomerang form. Due to this function, Ravyn is only able to slash with them, not stab. When not in use, they are found strapped to his forearms where they can still aid him in parrying attacks.

Appearance: Ravyn is thin and lightly armored, which is well suited for him since he is more used to parrying and outright dodging attacks rather than standing around to block them. Despite being a Toa of Iron, he has repainted himself mostly black and grey, leaving only the gunmetal segments on his limbs untouched.

Bio: Ravyn hails from an alternate future timeline of the BZPRPG. His father is Spectre (more commonly known as Verulas), thirteenth member of the mercenary organisation known as The Outsiders, and his mother is the Fe-Toa thief known as Septima. He was officially made the group's eighty-first member and given the alias of Revenant due to the display of his skills during the attack on Obsidian Outpost, a battle that claimed the life of Spectre when he stayed behind to detonate the explosives hidden beneath the repurposed Ko-Wahi cable car station, killing his arch nemesis Dravennica as well in the ensuing blast. He has since devoted his life to hunting down and assassinating those who took part in the assault, and was closing in on the Dark Toa known as Dayeth before being teleported to the Bionifight facility, an event that he is none too pleased with.

Personality/Other: Like his dad, Ravyn is quite pessimistic, and almost everything that comes out of his mouth is heavily laced with sarcasm. While he cares little for honor, there are some things he won't do, such as attacking people randomly outside of combat or betraying those that he's loyal to. When confronted about his past, however, namely the attack on Obsidian, his personality shifts to one considerably more dark and brooding. He's also quite understandably not a big fan of those who fanatically worship Makuta as a result of this.

I uh, plead the fifth. Anyways that was partly on provocation. That one Toa of either gravity or magnetism whom tried to kill Tahnok without so much as a provocation herself? (Wish I remembered the character's name.) I promise that was just an in character moment of self-defence (mostly) and does not reflect on me as a person. And Skull Carrier is nothing like that unless you happen to be the same species as him. Then he'll think you are some horrible monster who wants to kill him and his spider family(venom huntress).

Are you talking about Olari, as in the Toa of Magnetism who has spent her entire existence trying to protect the Matoran of her village from marauding hordes of evil Bohrok? She has a lifetime's worth of provocation to attack him on sight.

Fair point.

True, Olari (that Toa of Magnetism) did attack him first. As Nato said, she had significant provocation IC, and it would've basically been very much out of character for IAU6 to not have Olari react to Tahnok as she did.

"Without significant provocation" was poor word choice on my part. What I meant was, Tahnok completely overreacted by destroying things throughout the room, not attacking Olari directly. He went a bit beyond self-defense, in my opinion. Was that a fitting thing to do in character? I suppose it was. And I understand that it does not reflect you, but as you said, it's something that was done IC, which means that if someone would want to interact with Tahnok again they'd likely expect something like that to happen.

I kind of disagree about your explanation of Carrier, because his first move was to send out a Spider to find someone to mind-control in order to infiltrate the facility. This is slightly different, since nobody would know those plans IC, but I hope you understand that it makes people wary of a Tahnok-like situation.

However, I suspect that once the next round starts, you'll be able to interact with people on a better playing field. (Not literally. We don't have an arena setup like that.)

I don't want to stifle your creative freedom, (and I certainly don't want you to leave the game,) but I think part of the problem is the characters you've created. Tahnok is very destructive, and uses his powers aggressively. His first appearance made nobody want to interact with him, both IC and (by extension) OOC.

Unfortunately, Tahnok ended up as a precedent that perhaps showed people an unfair representation of your characters as a whole; Carrier is not so aggressive in attacking and destroying things in the facility, but I think that many players would not want to interact with Carrier either due to the impression they got from your actions with Tahnok.

I will also say that sometimes, people react negatively to the actions taken by inexperienced players, without remembering that those players are, well, inexperienced. In this case, you were new to Infinite and didn't know to not have Tahnok react as he did - obviously you now know not to do that, but some people have that first impression kinda stuck in their minds, even if you as a player gain more experience and have your characters act more reasonably in the rest of the game.

Hey. Don't worry. That's what I felt when I kept messing up in my first attempts as an RPG player. You and I are just new. Once you get a little more experience than you'll have some great interactions.

And in other news, I think I developed a melodic idea for another character.

Honestly, I've role played before, and I thought I was well in character having Tahnok react like that, mostly given that the Krana Xa didn't help things for him, often taking control of his mind at the worst times. I have pointed out that he often has to literally knock himself out of it to stop the Xa from destroying things. To me, Tahnok's not a complete destruction engine, he's just distrusting of people and himself, and when someone provokes him, he has to quench his anger before the Xa takes control or he just plain does something bad.

And then there is the fact that I am more used to a more lenient form of RP where there wasn't a specific GM. Welp.

As for Skull Carrier, yeah he is more overtly villainous, but what's a good RP without an evil player character? Plus he doesn't even realize he's playing the villain. In D&D terms, he's more like a brainwashed paladin.

Really I'm just hoping for a boxing match in the training sector between Tahnok and Halken Von Zakaz III Esquire.
