Visaru
I'm really curious about what ways the Mahiki was abused. I thought it was fairly straight-forward: creating visual illusions and shapeshifting the user to a limited degree. It strikes me as one of the masks that has an interesting application in roleplaying rather than just in combat. The biggest misuse was literal shapeshifting- people would turn into a shark and get better at swimming, or turn into a Gadunka and be practically invisible. It was made clear in N&D that it could only put illusions around you, but people continued to shapeshift with it. -------------- Tarrok | Korzaa | Verak | Kirik --------------
Lara White
Whether or not the Great Mahiki (as opposed to the Turaga version) could actually cause shapeshifting has, in fact, been a point of some debate in certain circles.

Also, nice to see Lesterin getting their own table It makes sense when they're now on the official species list, and there are more of then than turaga or parakuka. And you're welcome. In any case, we should put this is just an awesome job you've done Lorax, and I think you've now self-applied yourself to the responsibility of doing this again sometime later this year. Congrats!the responsibility of doing this again sometime later this year. Congrats!responsibility I do this for fun and because it is interesting, not because I have to. Behind this sucky post count, a writer and hardcore RPer lies in wait of a reason to post... For those who will likely ask when reading some of my non-RP posts: for me, "*shot*' = "I know that what I said was something stupid and I am acknowledging this before people think I'm serious." Oh yeah, and my current BZPRPG character bio can be found here. "Why...me? Oh yeah, that's right. I'm weak. I'm of a minority, a minority of people with a common trait: we hear too much. And what we're supposed to hear hurts to hear. When I'm alone in a silent room, I can hear a pebble dropping from a mile away. I can hear a motor boat being started up several yards off the coast. A whisper from outside, I can hear as if they were talking right at me. An explosion in another koro, I hear as if it's just outside. Sounds useful, right?""Wrong.""It's a curse, if you ask me. The same pen dropping inside this aforementioned silent room would ring in my ears. If I stood by the same motor, I'd get a headache. The same whisper would ring in my ear like two metal beams being slammed together in front of my face. The same explosion would render me deaf for years...thank the Spirit I thought of getting me something to dampen the noise, or I'd end up like the rest of my kind..." ~Voutok S'Tythe; unknown date, unknown location

Eyru
While we're on the subject of masks and the like, why has no-one bothered to come up with names for the masks of Rebounding, Healing and Sensory Aptitude...? Personally, my unofficial name for the Mask of Healing is the Kanohi Sana, sana being the Latin word for heal. Ghosthands
I agree with the use of 'Sana'. Although normally I dislike the use of Latin words in Bionicle, I like it in this case because the word's simple enough that it doesn't sound out of place, and the softness of it invokes the gentleness of healing. Good job
Sharkictus
Because, Shark, people last arc ended up abusing the illusion power of the mask. This is one of the few instances where Nuju actually argued ME down ironically enough. There was too much stretching, clarifying, and otherwise headaches with people using it that I was forced to concede the point and due to misuse this mask was taken away from the players. Yes, there were many good players who used it properly, but there were enough that didn't, so now nobody can use it. Let that be a lesson to everyone. I guess I can understand that. There goes any dancing to Final Countdown and doing Illusions with the Mask though. I do hope next arc, then, that you guys just make rules and limits for all masks and allow as much as possible into the game. I don't like giving names for unamed masks...most because I, and other players do use BS01 to consult for Mask names, because I can't remember them all...and if you make up a name, and play saying "Loseel used her Sana", it makes it a bit annoying when I look it up and can't find it. I have been known as shark112, Shark112, Shark Owns Demons All teh Time (yes the is typoed intentionally), Sharkalicious, The Venom Symbiote, Zyglakky Shark Ranger, Pope Sharkictus CXII, King Sharkictus CXII, Dotor Shark PhD Bionicle, and Shark.
