IC: Sidonas - Crawler

Were the area not neutral, Sidonas would have gladly started a fight with Shark, but he respected Suvak's words.

He stayed silent when Cao showed up with Fang, though he wondered whom Fang had fought to the point of heavy injury. "Alright." He replied to Suvak, not hiding his anger towards Shark in the tone of his voice. "I'll see what I can do. Hopefully that fool..." He shot a glance at Shark. "...won't try to kill any other who is on the same side as he." He grabbed his gear, as well as the crossbow gauntlet Recoil had let him borrow. He attached the gauntlet to his left arm, threw his bag over his shoulder, and set off into the jungle, looking up for any viewpoints as he used Hook to grapple himself into the nearest tree.

"I-it's, it's, it's n-n-nothing." Melody said, glancing over her shoulder.  "Th-thanks."

IC: Shark / Team Doublecross / Crawler

 

 

"Thank you, sir," said Shark respectfully. His arm was at least functional, if not the pinnacle of health. And the elbow fin was straightened out, though sadly not sharpened. He proceeded to follow Sidonas out of the crawler, though to an onlooker there might have appeared no correlation between the movements of the two.

IC: Jayar / Fifth Tier

 

 

Well, that seemed to confirm it. Veltrom hadn't the faintest idea what Jayar was saying. "Indeed, it would appear he cannot. Grossh said he would escort us and cover costs... So I guess we just go?" If that didn't suffice he could always give writing a try, but he wasn't one hundred percent sure that would work here...

"It's Fang," I said, worried about how she was going to react, "he was hurt. Cao had to take him back to the Crawler."

IC: Sidonas - Visorak

Sidonas kept to the trees, leaping from branch to branch. Sidonas climbed up to a high tree and looked for view points, and saw what appeared to be an overlook, a cliff of some sort. Sido slowly climbed down a slight bit, going to a branch that wasn't too high to break somehing. Sidonas kept moving until he saw a ledge. He jumped towards it and rolled when he hit the ground. "Seems like a fine place to view the chaos that has occured so far..." Sidonas muttered. He walked over to the overlook, stopped, and stood. He looked around. "Wow, you can get a good view of the fighting here. Hopefully Tridax is here..." Sidonas pulled out his Codex and looked at the map he drew, approximating where he was. Then he called out. "Headmaster Tridax! Are you here? Suvak sent me to inform you that there has been some serious problems, and he requested your help!" Sidonas placed his Codex back in his bag and loaded the crossbow gauntlet. If some not-so-friendly Rahi was around, he needed to be prepared and ready to defend himself.

I hauled myself out of the cellar, "stronghold, I need you to watch our guests. They're feisty."

 

I looked at Era.

 

My voice was hard, with an edge of wear.

 

"Where is he now?"

Wow.... she really wasn't thinking straight, "I just said.... the Crawler.... are you okay?"

"I agree," I said to the Rahkshi flying beside me. "I think it's time we ended this." I turned to shout down at those who had escaped the attack. "Everyone, head for the enemy base! Let's finish this now!"

IC: Shark / Team Doublecross / Visorak Wilds

 

 

One Rahi did silently follow Sidonas, sneaking across the ground and keeping the oblivious gadgeteer just on the edge of sight. The Rahi was a Shark, careful to ensure he was not spotted at every step of the way.

 

Shark silently hid behind a nearby tree, silence field now deactivated so he could hear Sidonas' movement. Fang has escaped, but Shark doubted anyone but Tridax would possibly be present or inclined to assist him. But for now, patience. The time would come.

"Feelin' that fight with Phantom. Still at the crawler, good. Who hurt him....?"

IC: Hoto - Malebranche

 

Her ears strained for any sign that the being understood them, but heard nothing. Did Veltorm understand, and was just making no indication she could hear, or was he oblivious to their words? Fortunately, Jayar was there to answer the question for her. 

 

"Okay, lead the way!" she burst out. She looked up to the next tier, but the high walls soared up beyond the range of her vision. Hopefully there was another cable car.

 

 

IC: Rain - Visorak Jungle (Team Doublecross)

 

Rain grinned wickedly. An all out assault against the opposing base, plenty of allies to cover her, plenty of enemies to smash. It must be Naming Day. 

 

The Visorak could be heard rapidly closing in on their position. They needed to move now, and fast. She sent a sad gaze down to her trophy, the mutilated body of her former archenemy. It would slow her down too much to take along. Instead, she leaned down and gave a tug at the base of its back. The weakened metal twisted and snapped off in her hands. She was taking her art with her.

 

She looked back up to their leader and gave a nod before taking off running through the jungle. Her paint glittered in the dim sunlight filtering through the canopy above. Everything was perfect.

 

 

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

 

Root sat innocently against the wall as his foes conversed, though he hung on to every word. Fang was... the Rahkshi he had met while searching for that thief, was he not. 'Twas a pity to hear of his fall, though the proclamation seemed to send his jailers into disarray. The formidable Catatonic was leaving, replaced by one who had seemed cowardly and inept during their previous duel. Perhaps this escape could be simplified. But not yet.

 

Root sent a small gesture to Shield, motioning for his accomplice to stay down.

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Makeshift Prison

I checked my oil compartments and decided to have one Cestus have spike and the other have blades. I walked in, closing the door behind me. I knew that they didn't really notice me, so my appearance may have been a surprise.

IC: Jayar / Fifth Tier

 

 

"Alright," said Jayar, starting off towards a cablecar marked with a sign marking it as transit to the fourth tier. Grossh had after all chosen the best real estate available, and that meant lots of nearby transit to the other levels of the sprawling city. It wasn't exclusive to the goldsmith, though, and there were numerous other beings seeking transit. At least it wasn't as bad as the first level by a long shot.

 

Still, if Hoto needed a hand in the miniscule crowd, he was there.

"I don't know for sure, but something was interfering with my powers. I think they were a silence Rahkshi. Maybe sonics," I felt bad for not having more to say, but of course, I hadn't exactly seen anything.

 

"Cao might know more. Fang would too, if.... I mean when.... he wakes up."

"He'll make it." It was unclear whether I was trying to convince them, or the others.

 

I staggered slightly as I stepped outside, blinking against the bright sunlight.

 

I threw a glance back, "Shield got untied, might wanna take care of that. Eyes on, and be careful! I don't wanna come back and hear about any deaths, understand?!"

 

I didn't wait for a response before taking off into the jungle, my sword slicing a path before me as I beelined for the Crawler.

"Are you sure? You seem sad, and people aren't just randomly sad." Said Blade.

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

 

"Karz..." I started shifting rubble back over the trapdoor to keep it blocked. Hopefully Stronghold would be able to keep the prisoners in check. "Okay, you go back out into the village, continue keeping watch," I told Era. "I'm going up to the top of the lighthouse to keep watch from there." 

 

We didn't need any more surprises today....

Silence. I had to start a conversation. But then I heard that Shield was untied. Well that's a problem. Luckily for me though...I unwrapping skin from my backplates, skin that would be hard to rip, coiled and braided them into a rope, and began to try and try Shield's hands behind his back. I would do the same for Root.

Nodding to Exxan, I headed back towards the middle of the village, clambering up into a crumbling two-storey building, taking up a position in the corner of an upper room near two of the windows. 

 

If anyone came through this way, I'd hear them coming. 

[Some Random Phrase]

IC Fog:

Landing some distance away from the rest of the group, Fog did not hear Sliver's command. He thought for several seconds, before flying off towards the Crawler.

OOC: Xara x Glass + Sand timeskip.

 

IC: Xara - Chirox Causeway. 

 

The Terrain Crawler had departed long before we made it back to the school, so we resigned ourselves to sitting on the edge of the Causeway, watching Sand chase a small crab around on the beach below.

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

 

Their prison vault was sealed again, and their new jailer was moving towards Shield, intending to bind his wrists once again. 'Twas the time to strike.

 

Root gave a nod to Shield and painfully pulled himself up as well. The glow from his phosphorescent bulbs was fading, but some of the vines still dragged along the ground, ready for combat. Root silently spun, building up momentum before staggering forward with a powerful blow aimed at his foe's back. He hoped Shield had a plan to keep him distracted from the front.

 

 

 

IC: Hoto - Malebranche

 

She followed Jayar closely, though the crowds were much smaller here. Hoto figured Veltorm had something to do with that. Even though she knew he was watching over them, she resisted the urge to cringe at every booming step behind her.

 

The cable car was a little worse, and Hoto quickly found a window. She swore she felt the car tilt as their guardian stomped aboard, but no one else seemed to notice. Not in a way she could tell, at least.

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Makeshift Cellar

Shifting light immediately attracted my attention but it was too late. I felt what seemed to be a whip that stung a little and hit my back. I turned around. The other one was trying to hurt me. However, I face Era and her whip before, and a natural vine one with thorns were nothing compared to my skin and my armor. I looked upon Root with caution, and approached him slowly, and in the meanwhile I also paid attention to Shield. I made sure to keep my back facing away from them.

 

~Heh. You're going to lose again,~ said the voice in my head.

~Not anymore.~

 

OOC: Now let's wait for Shield.

IC: Jayar / Cable Car

 

 

Jayar went over to stand next to the window with Hoto as behind him Veltorm's entrance tipped the car, just a little.

 

"Nervous about our escort?" he asked her casually. If you watched the way she half-flinched every time his foot pounded into the ground it was easy to make the connection. Of course, it helped that he knew the workings of her mind better than probably anyone, except Era and Kat. And Hoto herself, rather obviously.

 

The cable car started off with a jolt.

IC: Shock

"Alrighty then! Let's go find a smith!" Shock shouted, reverting to flight mode.

IC: Hoto - Malebranche

 

"Maybe... just a little," she admitted with a grin. "I mean, he's huge..., especially next to me!  Who wouldn't be nervous around him?"

 

She shrieked and staggered a little as the car started moving.

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

 

Gathering up an armful of rubble projectiles, I started up the stairs to the top of the lighthouse. Once I reached the top, I peered through the cracked glass of the windows and out into the village. The sun was at my back, meaning I could see everything quite clearly, while the glare would make it difficult for any approaching enemies to see me.

Squid finally arrived in the Library. He'd been gone for so long, and the once familiar hallways of the school seemed almost alien. The library was a welcoming sight to Squid and he sat down in an armchair and opened up the first book he saw. He considered possibly going to see Palma or Tridax to ask about what had happened in the time he'd been gone. He hadn't seen anyone he knew so far, but that was okay. They'd turn up soon enough.

 

OOC: Squid is open for interaction.

"Oh karz...." I heard Era's warning bird call ring out, but I could see them for myself.

 

Team Doublecross had arrived, in full force.

I landed on the outskirts of the village, regarding the ruins cautiously. There were dozens of potential ambush positions in amongst this mess. Their flag could have been hidden anywhere. "Spread out." I snapped the order, "Find them."

The Flag could be anywhere, Secret Compartments, Piles of rubble, underground tunnels, Rooftops, Buried... ANYWHERE!

Blade wanted to help that rahkshi, but he didn't like intruding on Personal Business, but he figured he Shouldn't dwell on it much, instead, he walked forth, and found a Library

Someday I will have a Wonderful Work that will belong in a Library.

He saw a Rahkshi sitting in a Chair, He Pulled up a Chair near the Rahkshi and Said "Hello sir!"

Shock landed on the roof, and looked around. He did not see Lucid in the immediate vicinity. Shock shook his head. There was something about that Rahk that utterly terrified him. Now there was little that made Shock afraid. Flowers? Absolutely, with there weird grabber thingies which hold them in the ground. Icarax on a rampage? Well, that's common sense. But... Lucid, with her prophecies and visions... Forget it, Shock thought. Turning to Nightmare, he asked,"Do you know anybody who will sell a Cordak Blaster?"

"No, and if you get one, it will likely be confiscated by Tridax Immediately. and we're looking for a Grill, Remember?" He said

Shield stepped forward and attempted to smash Stronghold in the chest with his knee.

Deadeye was still unconcious in the library, tied up.

"Ah, right. Well, how do we find a smith? Do we go up to each Rahk and ask,"are you a master of FIYAAAA-err... Smith? Honestly, that seems kind of hard." Shock thought for a bit, which was a first for him. "Unless you already know of one... But you just got here... Karz, this is going to be hard."
