"I am Groot Hound," the Denuian said, momentarily making eye-contact before turning his head back towards his book in a futile attempt at reading. "I believe I am the only inhabitant of my world to enter this contest. We call ourselves Denuians."

After a few minutes, Selaphiel turned, satisfied with the large amount of kinetic energy she had absorbed from her myriad strikes. As she did so, she noticed the gaze of Skrall, which she returned unblinkingly as she calmly strode over to him. "I've never seen your kind before."

Sel wasn't known for her social graces. Physical-trauma-induced PTSD had made sure of that.

IC: Tomo

It took a while for Tomo to register what was happening. When she realized that the two of them were under attack, however, she immediately sprang into action.

"Glatorian..."

One of Tomo's arms stretched forward in a flash, attempting to wrench the rifle or of this aggressors hands. "By the power vested in me by Lord Velika, I, Tomo of the Noon, order you to cease and desist!" If this Glatorian came from her world, maybe he'd recognize her as one of the Great Being's servants.

IC: Yoko

"Ah, my apologies," Yoko said, bowing politely. "My name is Yoko, of the Hiraki family."

.:A male Toa?:.

"... Well, there was the case of the previous Emiya..." Yoko had begun whispering to her Sky Cloth before suddenly catching herself, and turning back to Kale.

"Ah, apologies, I forgot to introduce my companion." With one hand, she grasped her cape and said: "A second consciousness dwells in this cape by the name of Haruka Kaioh."

.:Hello Mr. Male Toa.:.

"... Psst. His name is Kale."

IC: Lekona - Medbay

IC: Olari rubbed the back of her head as she awoke in the medbay. That explosion had knocked seven bells out of her, to the extent she was still feeling phantom pains. Where had it even come from? One moment there were the six of them there warring with each other, the next...a shockwave that hammered her worse than anything she'd felt back home. She was sure all her internal organs had been reduced to so much paste in that blast, and yet here she was, apparently fine and well. This tournament was going mess her head up if she stayed with it much longer...

Ah, Lekona was calling her name.

Got to her feet, still a little unsteady from the overriding instinct that she should be dead, and waved him down.

"Hail, friend. I did not see you much this round, how did you fare?"

Noticing Olari waving to him, he went over to the Toa. "Well, Artorre and I didn't get killed, but we didn't really do much either. Elittra on the other hand suffered an...interesting environmental death."

Again ready for the shot, I dodge the bullet. As Tomo reaches out to entrap him, I say, warningly, "Don't. Fighting outside of the training sector or the arena is simply the quickest way to be killed by the organisers, Tomo."

Fists clenched by her sides, she did her very best not to turn around and attack the insolent piece of scrap metal. "Will you karz off and get yourself repaired instead of wasting anymore of my time?" she spat, rounding on Exsequor. "Please, for the hate of Makuta, go away!"

IC: Ten

Ten liked to imagine his footsteps were bigger and more impressive than they actually were. If he were to describe the way he walked, it would use adjectives like "Thundering", "Booming", "Explosive", and words of that nature.

In reality, his footsteps simply clanged against the floor, a bit too forcefully. He walked, down the hallway, to the general relaxation area. It was the best place to go to see people. Knocking on doors was a...creepy thing to do. Ten stepped into the general area, and noted two Toa having a conversation. Neither were familiar. Getting to know the new people was probably a good idea. After all, what if they came back next time? Well, if Ten was brought back, that is. He stepped a few times, his excessively forceful footsteps clinking and clanging, as he approached the two Toa.

"Hello there!"

"You are clearly malfunctioning, have been programmed incorrectly, or were built as a prank." She kept her hands by her sides, unwilling to incur the wrath of the Enforcer by striking out agaisnt the creature. "Now get out of my sight."

IC: "I could say the same for you," the nameless Skrall replied "You remind me of many things, but accurately resemble none of them."

It was true, the creature had many aspects of things that could be found on Bara Magna. But it was like they had been stuck together into one, acting as both blessing and boon

IC: "I think I ended up being blown up," Olari suppressed a shiver as she involuntarily flickered back to the sensation of being crushed and torn apart all at once, "Though I suspect it was by an attack that did as much damage to the other team. At least two of them should have been caught up in the blast."

IC: "There a problem here?"

-==IC: Enforcer==-

The Enforcer would have answered Praggos sooner, but they paused for a moment, and absentmindedly nodded. "Yes. In fact, I need to do so now." The titan said, as they were teleported away, and appeared next to Miras and Kaipatu, blocking the Katana slash with their own sword. The Enforcer glared at Kaipatu and kicked him away, as they locked both Miras and Kaipatu in a temporary stasis field, as they twirled their sword, and then stabbed it into the floor, the resounding crash catching the attention of the combatants.

"Would someone explain what is going on?" The Enforcer said subtly calmly, although they glared at everyone involved one by one.

GM IC: ELITTRA - TRAINING SECTOR

Having found one of the virtual training environment rooms, Elittra slipped inside, the door automatically locking behind her for privacy (although a sign outside would display that it was her using the room). Taking a deep breath, she glanced around the small space; the dark violet walls, floor and ceiling were lit by a fluorescent blue light on the ceiling, highlighting a solitary structure in the center of the room.

The closest thing the structure could be related to was a bed or pod; fighters could lie down inside and get hooked into the system. The method of inserting each fighter into the virtual environments was always tailored to that specific fighter; for a Matoran like Elittra, it involved the use of a sleeping agent being injected into her via a needle, followed by several electronic sensors connected her into the VTE... or at least, that was what she understood about it. She had never been awake inside the pod long enough to find out exactly how it worked... nor did she really want to find out.

She lay down, closing her eyes as the pod hissed shut.

Time to re-visit Mahri-Nui.

GM IC: THE QUEEN'S QUEST - TUNNEL/CHAMBER

The Queen led the quest group down the lit tunnel for what she assumed was nearly two hours before they reached the end. The tunnel opened up into a large circular chamber, with a domed ceiling stretching at least one hundred bio into the air. The Queen warily entered, glancing around the chamber; the walls were covered with various carvings, and at the opposite side of the chamber, there was another opening - along with a small plaque inscribed with words too small to be seen from where they were currently standing.

We shall pause here briefly, the Queen said. Let us investigate - tell me if you find anything in the carvings on the walls that is of note.

-IC:-

A smirk played on Hound's lip. "Yes, I certainly have. Emphasis on shock..." The last syllable of his speech drifted into nothingness before he continued, his smirk gone, replaced with his usual somber expression. "I really do want to apologise for my actions. I was... monstrous, to say the least. My culture is unfamiliar with the distant precision of Toa." The word was strange on his tongue, not harsh or disdainful, but alien, foreign.

-IC:-

"Zyglak." Selaphiel didn't offer any explanations as to the visible effect of her forced mutation. "I suppose I am a bit of a chimaera."

-IC:-

So, here I am, walking down the hallway, still humming that catchy tune when I nearly trip over the foot of some shuffling buffoon, sending me stumbling all the way across the room, missing a few full-sized Toa by a matter of millimeters before falling, with all my usual grace, of course, into a seat. Which, y'know, wouldn't be that bad, if it wasn't unoccupied.

"Hi!" Never miss a beat; that's the secret to a successful life among fellow homicidal maniacs. Roll with the punches and kick 'em in the shins. I'm speaking just as I'm trying to stand up, bring my beaming face to roughly chest-height of this slivery-white-iron-pumping Toa (Kale). Here's hoping he's not the neck-snap kinda guy. "Sorry 'bout that. I could trip over my own feet."

IC: "Fascinating! We know of no metals like that on Zakaz, sadly. Mostly due to no need to throw manufacturing materials in the water, I suspect!" Halken laughed at his own joke, a sound that would have shook thinner walls like a small child does a piece of laminated paper to make a wobba wobba wobba wobba wobba wobba sound.

IC: Xaeraz looked around the huge room, a tad nervous. With a gulp, he trundled over to a carving and knelt, leaning in to look at it closely and see what he could find from a GM post about it, assuming that was meant to be.

IC: Skull Spiders (Skull Carrier's minions)

From above it watched as a fight was interrupted by the arrival of a large nameless being, called The Enforcer if it's correct. This one will be worth following... the spider named Scraper thought in its native language, rubbing its forelegs together.

In the Skull Carrier's room, the skull spider whose first mission was interrupted by the enemy, named Spindle, was in the process of creating a disguise from the loose pieces it had picked up. Fusing the mouth piece of Kakama with the hornless brow of a Rode, it thought it had a good looking Hau.

...

Nah.

It tossed the mask carelessly into the nest and onto the third, napping spider, a fat little thing that liked to call itself Zogg. That woke it up, and it proceeded to struggle the offending mix-mask. Finally pushing off the thing, it decided to tackle its brother and making it pay for that. Unfortunately, this kind of commotion was bound to alert someone.

(OOC: So yeah, come on in at your leisure and surprise The Skull Carrier)

IC:

With the round's end the world had gotten very chaotic indeed. Fighters swarmed every inch of the facility, clamoring and yelling, the very definition of entropy. The Re-Toa retreated very quickly from it all, just as soon as he had finished observing the round. The past quarter hour had proven very enlightening, as he had managed to find both a map of the facility and learn about the combatants within what, he was told, was the second round of the tournament. Several clever tactics, more than a few foolish ones, and an immense variety of powers.

It was almost staggering, actually. Theoretically speaking he had known that the potential for diversity was infinite, as the multiverse itself was infinite, but the number of combatants revealed a truly vast field of skills. A few Av-Toa, whose tactics were rather similar to his own, in fact, were for once the most recognizable entities.

He had taken notes, of course. He had been robbed of his notebook when his supplies were left behind, among other things (he would have to see what the shops would be willing or able to replace), but he had made extensive mental note of the events and faces. His footsteps carried him down the hallways towards the Comfort Sector, where he anticipated he would find the greatest amount of peace and quiet. Ironically. the opposite seemed to have been true. An unfamiliar Toa was speaking with an Av-Toa recognizable, without much effort, as the MVPs of the previous round only for a diminutive being to nearly fall into them.

The desire for quiet warred, momentarily, with the desire to speak with his competition, and perhaps learn about them.

After the briefest of pauses, the latter won out.

"Kale, I believe. MVP of team Tarakava." The Re-Toa began, approaching and extending a hand to shake. "And two new contestants, given that I don't recall either of you being present in the previous round. I am Uri Soken. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

IC:

Noroi realized, as soon as the world faded into focus around her, that it was viewed once more through the slit in her helmet. She felt the familiar weight on her form, the resistance to every movement, and knew she had been sealed as soon as the round ended. She had hoped, in the way one hoped when they knew it was in vain, a refusal to admit that hope to themselves, that if the round ended while she was free, she might not have returned to it. That the link might be broken.

She should have realized the futility of that hope.

Without comment, she did not need to speak to acknowledge her disappointment, she began walking, cursing the leaden feeling of her limbs. She had no particular destination as she roamed the halls, though her path, she knew, would eventually return her to the food court.

IC:

Not gonna lie, folks.

That was a ###### poor showing. Not a single knockout under my belt, and I didn't even get to fight. Fun fact. I missed that last explosion by virtue of being the most unlucky guy alive. Someone's attack went wild and trashed a building, and I found myself caught underneath a ton of rubble. Managed to get out a few minutes before the round ended, but there wasn't a point. Our team won. Yay, I guess. Can't really care given how atrocious my performance, but hey, team won.

######.

This isn't my day.

Pushed myself out of the bed, I'd been brought to the medbay to fix the minor injuries I'd accumulated with my little brawl with the building, but I wasn't out long. Don't really know where I'm gonna go. Gotta clear my head.
