BIONIFIGHT INFINITE

IC: "Understood, Ma'am," Xaeraz meekly replied, returning to his breathing exercises. He wanted as little to be in his mind as possible when they reached the Infinite Gem, and the more he got done now, the better off he would be. Hide away all the...Destral information files, the plans, the memories of your imprisonment, he thought to himself. Leave it nothing to feed from.

IC: Prose/Library Sector

I sighed as I heard the sounds of vomit on a tome. I began to read some more from my tome. It seemed interesting.

OOC: Do I need some GM post to tell me what I've read or something?

IC: Lytrel

"The methods of which one enforces the rules and regulations... That was a lesson I learned far too late... At the very least, I will say that I admire your foresight." Lytrel mused on the fragments of memories of his past life; while he couldn't remember any specific incidents, he knew that had he been in the Queen's place, he would have either been too nervous to act or succumbed to some inner, dark desire and go overboard.

Kale Ironshaper- Medbay with Kopen, Tenjou and Viitka

IC: Kale frowned at Kopen's statement. While obviously stabbing somebody who made fun of you was wrong he could tell that his friend had made a step in the right direction just now and pushing the matter would not be a good idea. As Kopen glanced around for her staff, Kale found it and picked it up. The tip ringing slightly as he handed it to the Matoran.

Turning to the other two beings in the room Kale stood and spoke.

"Thank you for your help. I honestly had no idea what I was doing when I started and I doubt it would have worked had you not helped. My name is Kale and this is Kopen."

IC Tenjou - Medbay

"Tenjou Utena," the Av-Toa gave a short bow as was customary of her world. "I was glad to help, it is a Toa's duty to offer aid and protection." She hadn't caught a glimpse of her ally in the first round, though it had been obvious they used elemental light.

"Kale, if I may ask. Were you the one to assist me against the Rahkshi?"

...but close to it

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

The Queen turned to Xaeraz, looking amused.

Thinking about what you want to hide is useless, Toa, she said. I care not for your past or what it involved, but if you wish to forget about something, the best way to do so is to instead focus on something else, and let the thoughts of that occupy you entirely.

There was a knocking on the door; sensing Ezezko, the Queen turned to Lytrel.

Please let him in, and make sure he knows to take a seat. I shall confer with him as soon as I have finished with Kopen.

Speaking of Kopen... the blind Matoran had replied rather... snappishly.

Your mind is tender, but it is no longer damaged, the Queen replied. You are quite healed - any further recovery would only be possible if it were to occur with my help, as it was I who damaged your mind in the first place. As for what is stopping you... well, this punishment is mandatory. That means you can either come to my office willingly, or I shall have to force you down. And you have already experienced what that can feel like.

IC: "If it is all the same to you, Ma'am, this is a practice from my time as a, er, Rahi Breeder on Destral," Xaeraz thought, knowing full well she knew what he actually meant. She had to know about his life before Karzahni, after all. "I prefer to take needless precautions when facing an unknown threat than to charge in blindly to my death, after all."

IC: Dayeth - Lower Hallways.

Tossing the fruit's core aside once she'd finished eating, Dayeth strode away from the crowds. She'd had enough socialising for one day. She needed some time alone, to think and plan. The lower hallways seemed quiet, so she headed down there, scanning the walls for any sign of how the arena operated.

She was curious, always trying to understand the innermost workings of things so she could figure out how best to exploit them to her advantage. The arena had changed from a flat, empty plain to a gigantic snowy mountaintop. The question was.... how?

Kale Ironshaper- Medbay with Kopen, Tenjou and Viitka

IC: "And the Nui Rama before them." Kale replied, giving Kopen a very concerned look while he did so. "I spotted you shortly before losing Kopen here and decided to help out. We may be from different universes but I figured that a Toa of Light from other places would be fairly close to what they are like in my home."

Not that I know much about the Toa of Light in my universe either.

"I serve the weak. I serve the helpless. I am their sword and their shield. If you want to strike at them, you must go through me, and I am not so easily moved."

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

The Queen stiffened momentarily as the first round ended, and she sensed Albrecht being teleported out of the arena. With narrowed eyes, she sent out a telepathic message to the fighter.

This is the Queen. You ignored my attempt to contact you earlier. I would hear your reasons for doing so... and once you have explained yourself, I have a proposal to make.

IC (Albrecht von Armbrüster)

The battle's done; my lady weeps for all

the blood she might have drank. I, too, am sore:

my thoughts revolve around the vic'tries that

I failed to win. I force myself to breathe:

I lived. I fought entir'ly well; I hold

no shame. A voice then sounds throughout my brain;

it's one I know. I pause and calculate

my words, then speak in silent tones: "O Queen,

my heart is grieved to hear such anger in

your voice. I'd never meant to cause offence;

my silence only served to give me time

to string my words together in a way

that might be worthy of your precious time.

You're beautiful, my Queen; your worth is more

than any sunrise, sunset; gems cannot

compare. Your power's great; your strength is far

above my own; the light that fills your mind

could blind the gods and put a thousand stars

to shame. Above all else, my liege, I pray

to find your mercy half as great as your

illustri'us name: if it be so, then I

am saved, and only then, for you are judge

and jury both, and there are none to sway

or change my heart's regard for you, O Queen."

IC: Viitka

Viitka stepped back involuntarily as the matoran embraced the white-armored toa, glancing down at her raised palms for an instant. It had been an... interesting sensation. Utilizing her hard-won ability in order to heal one's soul, if not body, wasn't anything new to her, but never before had she experienced something quite like that. She wasn't a toa, obviously enough, and so combining her elemental power with another was new indeed.

Viitka nodded in response to Kale's thanks, her eyes closing ever so slightly as her head dipped in a quick, avianesque motion.

"Viitkaehl," she said in introduction, not for the first time glad that most of them seemed to speak the same tongue, even if they were from vastly different worlds.

OOC: You know what, I'm abandoning the color scheme. Too long, and I predict I am going to posting a LOT from mobile. Also, assume some time has passed...

IC: Sko powered off the tablet and slid it back onto the shelf. The winner, Vagust, was of course someone to be reckoned with. In addition to the giant sword, which was a no-no for getting near in his unarmed state, there was the whole 'resist Shadow' thing. Which was bad for Skorm. In fact, there were several such fighters here that possessed elemental nullifying equipment. And that was patently a bad thing. He put his hands on Orm's shoulders. "You done?"

Orm rolled his eyes. "No. See, while you just watch the highlight reel, I'm going over all the footage. A lot more Rahkshi than I would think, though. At least none of them are Dire Rahkshi."

"Honestly, I think those were a downgrade from normal ones. I mean, yeah, smart and scary-looking, but their powers almost never came up..."

The Kra-entity shrugged. "True. I take it you want to go mingle?"

The Av-entity nodded. "Yep. It'd be better with both of us."

Orm shook his head, frowning. "Whatever." The two entities shone as they re-merged, and Skorm pulled himself up from the chair. It wasn't like everyone was trying to kill each other; time to go make friends. Hopefully. Where would friends meet? Food? Food. Food was good. The Twi-Toa took off for... the Commercial Sector? Yeah, that sounded right. As Skorm entered the hallways, he started observing the multitude of creatures on their own errands. One that fell in next to him was... eugh, a matoran that looked like he had been rebuilt with scrap material. With a big gun.

Skorm tried to keep his awkwardness to a minimum. "Um, hi?"

OOC: That's you, Petewa.

The times, they are a-changing...

IC: Kopen - Med Bay

My apologies, your royal Brakas, Kopen thought in her most sarcastic voice possible.

She sat up with a scowl. "Looks like I've got an audience with the Queen. Nice to meet you all, thanks for the help, but I best be off."

She slowly pushed herself toward the edge of the bed, still getting a feel for her now fully-functioning limbs.

IC - Artorre (Food Court):

As his new companions either chowed on their food or awkwardly tried to make conversation, Artorre finished his ruki, and noted that the others were also mostly finished with their respective meals. He rose from his seat, leaned over the table and began to cut the cake into four equal pieces, using a knife he had brought over for just that purpose. When he had placed the last piece in front of his spot, he sat back down, and began to speak. "Say," drawled the Ta-Toa. He stuck a bite of the cake into his mouth before finishing the sentence. "What - if you don't mind my asking, that is - did you all do before they brought you here? Where are you all from, ah? You needn't feel any obligation to answer, of course. I'm just curious, is all."

While he waited for someone to be the first to answer, he took another bite of cake.

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

The Queen beckoned Ezezko to the empty armchair directly to her left, holding up a finger to inform him that she would speak with him more in a moment as she focused on the responses from both Kopen and Albrecht.

Your manners are less than desirable, the Queen said to Kopen. Calm yourself down before you arrive at my office. I say this for your own safety on this quest, and not for my amusement.

Mentally shifting connection priorities, the Queen focused on Albrecht, listening to the fighter's poetic commentary. She waited for several seconds once Albrecht had finished just to make sure that he was indeed finished before sending over her reply.

You do have... nice manners, for one who so blatantly ignores those who they would be better off responding to immediately, even if just to inform them of a delay with putting together a proper response. You speak very eloquently as well - and I am requesting your presence at my office immediately. I would like you to join the team that I have assembled. Your control over psionics may prove invaluable.

OOC: While it won't be visible to any other characters since the Queen almost operates solely in the mental planes, she does tend to hold those with psionics powers in higher regard. Both Von Worten and Albrecht are, as such, more likely to get away with things in her presence than others.

IC: Dartakh (Commercial Sector/Comfort Sector/Knowledge Sector)

After finishing my meal I continue my attempt to contact the staff. The stall merchants don't tell me anything, so I decide to go to the neighbouring sector, hoping to find an office or something. I find numerous doors, and after opening one of them I see a comfortable living room with beds and all. There's so many rooms that I can only assume that these are our sleeping quarters. Good to know, for I had thought that we didn't have any personal rooms. I wonder how they could afford such luxury for so many people? Rich buggers.

I continue to he next area, which appears to be a big library. Several nerds were wasting their time by reading dusty tomes. Demon girl and Ghost sword guy also appear to be there (from now on they are known as Nerdy demon girl and Nerdy ghost sword guy), along with some others. Realizing that I had made a full circle through the upper floor, I decide to walk to the nearest person and ask them where the karz I can find the organizers. I place my hand on their broad shoulder and say "You there, tall green guy, I need to talk with the gamemakers. Do you know how I can contact them?"

OoC: That's The Enforcer. Yes, I know that they are a staff member, but Dartakh doesn't.

-==IC: The Enforcer==-

"What do you want with them?" The Enforcer asked, as they turned their head to looked at the person who decided to talk to them; all the while keeping a slight ear out for the other two, to make sure they didn't try to stab each other or something.

"Your wish is my command," I say, though all

my words are silent still. I stand, and check

that all my things are with me still. My love,

my cloak, my armour (scratched and scarred from years

untold of bloody wars and violent fights).

My mind is safe and strong; the Queen has spar'd

my life and mental peace. The day may come

when all of us combine our strength and rise

to fight, but it is not this day. I leave,

and move towards the office of the Queen.

IC: Kopen - Med Bay

Kopen stumbled for a moment as she hit the ground. Her limbs felt weak after laying in that bed for so long. Maybe it was time for a run to get some blood flowing.

She stopped at the door and turned her attention back to the three Toa that had helped her. "Thanks... again," she said, shyly. "I... I hope that we can meet again under more... favorable circumstances."

Karz, the Queen must have really gotten to me...

She ran out the door without waiting for a response, too embarrassed to stay any longer.

The Queen had not been very specific about her directions. Just... something about the lower level. She was too busy trying to keep her head to herself to really listen to her prattle. Whatever it was, it would be near impossible to find blind...

Oh. That had to be it. The door had just... appeared, right where it should be, though she didn't know why she thought that. From the aura of utter self-righteousness and mental damage that leaked out, there was only one place it could be. Kopen stepped up and rapped on the door with the tip of her staff.

"You're oh so humble servant awaits, my Liege!" she called through the door.

IC: Mirror - Training Sector to Commercial Sector

The Training Sector was nearly empty. Despite this being a tournament, no one was training. There must be somewhere they were all congregating.

Mirror stifled a yawn and took one last look around. Nothing worth watching. He shrugged and walked out, trying to follow the noise to... the Commercial Sector. A massive room filled with stalls of just about every kind of food one could ever wish for. It occurred to him that his appetite had understandably not been great in his panic at being sucked into this game, but now his stomach roared at him, screaming for food. Everything looked so delicious, far beyond the meager rations he had been left with in the past few weeks. He stepped up to the nearest stall and grabbed whatever it was they were selling. He hadn't seen food like that since... well, he didn't know if he had ever seen food like that. Amnesia was a funny thing.

With his arms loaded with a tray, Mirror looked around for some place to sit.

OOC: Mirror open to interaction.

IC: Dayeth - Lower Hallways.

The doors that had once opened out to the arena seemed to be sealed, and Dayeth didn't want to to risk whatever repercussions might arise from her trying to break them down.

She would play their little game for now, but she wanted to know all of this place's secrets. The mysterious beings who ran this tournament wielded power that her Makuta could only dream of, and flashed it around as if it meant nothing. If she could somehow take control of this facility, she could hand it and its treasures over to Makuta, or better yet....

....keep it all for herself.

Kale Ironshaper- Medbay with Kopen, Tenjou and Viitka

IC: Before Kale could respond to Viitka, Kopen announced her audience with the Queen. For a second the dragon design on his back writhed as his mind bristled at the idea.

Was breaking her not enough? Did the Queen have to put her through even more?

"Thanks... again," she said, shyly. "I... I hope that we can meet again under more... favorable circumstances."

The dragon stopped as Kale's attention was brought back to Kopen. The Matoran running out the door before he could get a word out. With a sigh he turned back to Tenjou and Viitka.

"Why don't we head to the food area? I know that I could do with a bite to eat and it would give us a better place to talk."

"I serve the weak. I serve the helpless. I am their sword and their shield. If you want to strike at them, you must go through me, and I am not so easily moved."

IC - Vakax: Vakax's body shrank, the metal condensing smoothly, forming into a much smaller being. His hands rounding off - and face forming to resemble a kanohi - everything about him began to resemble that of an Onu-Toa. With his body in shape, he clambered around in the hallway for a moment, adjusting to the new height and distribution of weight. Gathering odd looks every few moments, he turned his way to the food court; entering as his new form itched on his mind.

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

As Kopen waited for the door to open, she would also sense the arrival of Albrecht. She would also 'hear' the Queen's response to her in her mind.

Sarcasm will get you nowhere quickly, Matoran.

Inside the office, the Queen gestured for Lytrel to let the newcomers in as she turned to Ezezko.

Kopen shall be joining this quest, the Queen said. I shall know if you are using your powers again, fighter. I hope you will act wisely.

IC: Lytrel

And apparently I have been further demoted to "gatekeeper". Hooray. Once a scientist then a teacher, then a gladiator, now the person who opens and closes the door.

Lytrel thought this less in a sarcastic tone and more in a humorous self-deprecating manner... That quickly became much less humorous.

By the time he opened the door to let Kopen in, his entire body had been reduced to a two dimensional colorless super-deformed sketch that was blue with shock, or he would have been, if he was a cartoon character. Nevertheless, everybody could see his spirits diving into the depths of the ocean (hooray for metaphors!).

IC: Kopen - Queen's Office

The Queen's warning went entirely unheeded as Kopen casually walked in like she owned the place, her staff draped over one shoulder. The Queen was easy to find. Even if her very presence didn't make Kopen's fragile mind tingle, the haughty scowl that she felt more than saw gave it away. She stepped right up to the Queen and gave a mockingly low curtsy, lifting up a few scraps of cloth from her legs. There was no reason to just think everything anymore. Kopen much preferred being vocal. "Your Royal Brakas," she greeted with a smirk. "I was unaware we would have... company."

All the while as she approached the desk, her mind had been turned to analyzing the others in the room. A few that looked like Toa, a big guy, and a... well, who knows what that was. Then her sonic gaze fell on a familiar profile. It had been ingrained into her memory since she stabbed him. "You," she hissed. "Oh, if we were alone..."

IC: Xaeraz stood and walked over to Kopen, placing his hand on her shoulder gently, with much creaking of gears making his presence obvious.

"I would rather you not, not be subjected to any more pain, if it is all the s-same. Please, don't continue your fight, or I will, ah, have no choice but to restrain you f-for the duration, and I, I would rather not do so." He gave her a small smile, still unaware of her blindness. "And I assume you would rather I did not, too."

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

Take a seat.

While the Queen addressed everyone, it was clear that the directive was intended for Kopen; before the Matoran could even consider disobeying, she found her body moving on its own; her brain's control over her motor functions having been smoothly seized by the Queen without any pain, thanks to her earlier tampering. As soon as Kopen was seated, the Queen spoke again.

Let us try this again. You will behave yourself - and that includes treating both myself and Ezezko with respect. He has already promised to do the same for you, and he knows that if he tries to use his powers on anyone, the results for him shall be... unpleasant.

As they will be for you if this continues.

Kopen gave a small gasp as the Queen mentally dragged her into a seat. At least her position had been made very clear.

I enter, bow, and take my seat, and watch

this odd Matoran scratch and bite. The Queen

subdues her (though she hardly seems to try),

reminding me to watch my tongue: too sharp

or soft, and she might take offence. Instead,

I say: "My Queen, I beg the privilege

of punishing this sorry wretch when next

she dares to raise her foolish voice to you."

GM IC: THE QUEEN - QUEEN'S OFFICE

There will be no need for that, the Queen said, before turning to Von Worten and speaking to him directly. Von Worten, please explain to both Ezezko and Kopen what the quest is - that we are searching for a powerful Infinite Gem, and that they will have to open their minds to my protection if they are to survive. I must fill Albrecht in on our roles in the quest as psionics users.

She turned to Albrecht, and mentally projected her explanations of the Infinite Gems, the quest, and the role that the psionics users would play over to him. Once she was finished, she waited for Albrecht's response.

OOC: Explanation is basically: Infinite Gems grant powers, this gem is related to psionics, psionics users will be linking minds, using their powers to protect the others.
